I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Atan Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a memorable meal. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations that didn’t disappoint. The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail in the preparation really stands out. Whether you're a fan of rich, traditional flavors or looking to try something new, there's something on the menu for everyone.

A-Tan is hands down one of the best restaurants in Memphis. The food is incredible, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is warm and friendly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I recommend the Beef with Broccoli, it’s excellent!

Atan Restaurant is a fantastic spot for anyone craving a flavorful and entertaining dining experience. Their hibachi is cooked right in front of you with flair, offering both taste and showmanship. The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and comes in a variety of creative rolls that cater to all preferences. They also offer a solid selection of beers, making it a great place to relax with friends or family. Whether you're a hibachi lover or sushi enthusiast, Atan delivers quality, flavor, and fun in a welcoming, lively atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Atan for over 15 years and both the food and the staff are always great! No matter if you are looking for hibachi or Chinese/Japanese cuisine Atan always have fresh food and serve large portions! The daily lunch specials are great too! It is family owned local restaurant that you should try!

A-tan SCAM ALERT - They add 18% gratuity to every check regardless of party size but do not tell you like every reputable restaurant does with the “Additional tip” line They automatically add 18% to every party size because they are unable to earn it otherwise. The food, service, atmosphere, and especially management are atrocious. The hibachi chefs do no show. Nothing. He overcooked every piece of protein, and had absolutely zero showmanship as a hibachi chef should. Keep in mind that their only notice is a nondescript sign on the front door regardless of party size. The server did not ring the items we asked for and we were told it was because she did speak English. Can that person not go back and tell the English-speaking staff so they can check to see what is needed? This place was virtually empty on a Friday night and it’s easy to see why. They have long since forgotten about any aspect, idea, or concern of customer service. Why should they care about the customer if they preemptively charge 18% gratuity any time a customer is dumb enough to walk through their door? And they do it without disclosing it when the credit card slip arrives. When I mentioned I got about 1 oz of beef in my hibachi meal, a while later they slammed down a plate of inedible and undercooked beef from somewhere in the back that was inedible and likely violated health code. When I asked for the manager, she refused to come see me. When no I finally saw her, she asked if I knew how to read English because the sign on the door told us about the 18% gratuity and suggested I go to a buffet.

I dine here from time to time with my family, and it’s always a pleasant experience. The service is consistently great—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food never disappoints—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared every time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliably excellent meal and atmosphere.
