Had a delicious lunch for 5 people, we shared starters and had individual main courses recommended by the waiter. Staff were very attentive and despite their lack of English they made a really big effort to ensure we had a lovely time. Would recommend reserving a table and giving it a try!

Superb quality & service local Portuguese restaurant with fabulous food cooked so well ! We had starters of a salmon carpaccio, ham & cheese, sausage mushrooms, bread & olives. Followed by mains of Picanha steak & Dorada fish. Paired with a house white. Stunning cooking, enjoy the food very much & owner was very friendly but his staff doesn’t speak much English. My advice is to try learning some Portuguese or like me, just sign language my way through & to carry cash with you as the card machine might not work. Otherwise enjoy the food & experience! My friends & I loved it !

Was hard to find a restaurant in Peso do Regua with a table for two without reservations. We lucked into a table here and are very happy we did! Had some white wine, octopus, and salmon... all incredibly delicious! Prices were fair, too!

I regret going to this place. Food is passable at best. Go somewhere else. The fries were oily and soggy, sad looking. My chicken skewer came in cold. I had to ask for it to be reheated. The mushrooms and the pepper were raw. The pork was a small portion with just a few potatoes... the pork was pink inside but dry so I assume it's cooked but a little weird to me. For this price not only you can find food that tastes better but also with larger portions. I do not recommend the house wine for 3 euros per cup. I wanted to express my opinion to the staff but no one ever asked us how we're liking it in there. (Other than that the service was ok, no questions to them) Overall I got the feeling that the restaurant is trying to be fancier than it is. I would focus on the quality of the food first before buying fancy plates and cloth napkins. I'm willing to assume that maybe it was the chef's day off and someone else was cooking. On a sidenote, I have to question why would you even put all of this stuff on a skewer if it's cooked separately and then assembled. Update: I have to downgrade my review to 1 star because of the strange attitude the owners choose to take. Insulting me and my company. I suggest to the owners to take the time it took them to write the response and use it to consider my feedback instead of dismissing it. I understand that any owner is passionate about their business but this passion is better used on thinking of ways to improve that are provided with reviews like mine rather than on deflecting criticism with insults. For the owner: No, I didn't even remember that we couldn't make a reservation at 21:00. In fact I was excited to go to your restaurant based on all the positive reviews. Being able to reply to the review is an opportunity to maybe bring the customer back to your side, maybe explain why my experience didn't match the expectations. Instead because of how you replied you get a lower rating in my review and another bad review. As I said in my initial review, I was open to discount this as a one time occasion, an accident. But your reply is very strange. As if you're saying that the bad food is what I'm supposed to expect. Sorry I don't speak Portuguese yet. I still understood what the waiters who did not speak English said and said "Obrigado" each time someone attended our table. You saying that I can't afford your menu is an excuse you seem to use often. But what I'm saying is that you can go next door, literally to a restaurant next to you and probably get better and cheaper food. I am happy to spend more when it's justified, unfortunately, in your case I didn't feel like it was, compared to other restaurants I've been to. Including restaurants in Régua. You should check out your competition, I'm sure there's some inspiration to be found!

Very nice restaurant. Local portugese dishes, very good! Very friendly service. Outside of the building doe not look great, but inside is very cute and nice. They also have a vegetarian option! Mushroom truffle spaghetti, really really good. Very good housewine as well.

Superb grilled sea bream (one portion is enough for two)! Octopus "lagareiro" was not worth it.
