"Previously, A-Town Bar and Grill was a popular gathering place for hard-partying bros in Ballston, and I note that loyal attendees of A-Town’s Sunday funday brunch won’t recognize the place after the Bronson transformation." - Tierney Plumb

This was the first time we were here. It was 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded. We each had pizza which was very good; they were large and very reasonably priced. Many other menu items looked good - we plan to return. The waitress was friendly and efficient.

I met Craig when he bought a vehicle from me at the dealership I work at. Super nice guy and he told me about his restaurant and catering. I meant to get up there all summer and didn't find a good time. But I finally brought my father "another foodie" there for his Birthday. Great looking location, great food, good service. I've been telling people about A-town since we were there and we'll definitely be back. Only thing I would change, is I'd like to deserts to be bigger. But I understand that is personal preference.

Recommendations from friends were to have the walleye. The sauce on the walleye was nice and unique. We both had a Ceasar salad which was very good. As our 2nd side we had onion rings and fries which were both good. 1 soda and 1 water (I like water with my meal) and we were out the door at $75 including tip.

At this point I believe the only reason why this restaurant is not out of business is cause it’s the closest in the area and anything else is at least 40miles away. And this good reviews are probably cause the people in the area are very content and easily impressed. Cause there’s no reason why the steak is either undercooked or overcooked it’s never what you ordered . it’s the most expensive thing on the menu. You’ll think they’ll put a little more effort. I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times( just cause it’s the only one in the area) and the never seize to remind me the food is junk for the price. Their nacho is the only good thing it the menu , pizza too dry and steak never right. Edit in response to the management: what a lie you just vomited . I was seating at the end corner( so you saying the the customers nearby complain is some crazy work ), the host came up to my table 3 times, ask order, gave my food and only checked again towards the end of my meal which means that’s the only time I had the opportunity to lay a complaint. The kind host told me she would go double check the system to make sure the mistake wasn’t on her end . She came back and told me she did put medium well in the order . That was the chef’s mistake but she apologized. The reason I wrote this review is cause I have been to this restaurant multiple times and some thing is always messed up. For the prices on the menu, a little more effort should be put towards the food . The nachos are fantastic but that’s about it . My opinion on this place still stands . You made up a lie to cover for your food quality and I get it , you are defending your business but as for me, I am raising awareness for people that come in to spend their hard earned dollars for a fine dining experience. I never made any scenes, I literally open my mouth 2 times to order my food and told the waiter the order was wrong as soon as I had the chance , she was busy and only came back to check on me toward the end. She was very nice and kind . Do better and stop lying, MEDIUM- WELL steak order is no rocket science, it’s doable and not too much to ask. Other restaurants get it right so can you!! ❤️

We ate here for our anniversary, was delicious! So many things on the menu that we didn't get to try that sounded good, so we will need to go back! A very cute, intimate spot for a good meal. Our waitress seemed timid and inexperienced, but was attentive enough for us. Other wait staff nearby seemed good.

They have many things on the menu I’d would like to come back to try! They cook more than just the pizza in the wood fire stoves and it really gives things that delicious char. Overall the food was good, which is nice to find in a rural area. The appetizers, Pesto Cheese Breadsticks and Loaded Jo-Jos, were good, but both a bit dry. They have a small, but decent kids menu that I appreciate, because the kids pizza was good! We also had the Hot Mama Burger and the Jacked Grilled Cheese, which I would highly suggest both. Their fries are so good! My only complaint, which is not a big one, is that it did take quite awhile to even get appetizers, which ended up coming out just before the food. I agree with a previous reviewer, you NEED to make a reservation if you plan on having dinner here. We went early, 3:30p, without a reservation and had no problem get off a table, but by the time we left at 5p all the tables had been booked the rest of the evening. They do have a small area for bar seating if you get lucky!

We were driving through and thought we'd stop in. This place is a treasure. We had the warm tomato bruschetta, prime rib hoagie w/tavern fries. It was all very good. I'd never had bruschetta warmed. It was so good. The prime rib sandwich was w/ au jus was tender and juicy. The tavern fries are amazing!! Ashtyn, our server was attentive and friendly. We were very happy with this place and would totally recommend it to anyone.

Google
I ordered my steak medium rare, which I don't normally do, for the fact that many facilities dont know how to properly cook a steak (usually order rare as it will then come out medium rare), but I figured I would give them a shot and order my steak how I like it done. It came out perfectly. The French onion soup was on point, the bruscetta was to die for, and the drinks went down great! Excellent service! We will be back!

Yelp
Great food, great service, clean, classy place. Stumbled across on a Sunday road trip. Glad we gave it a chance.

Yelp
10/10 best food around. On point with what I'd expect in the metro - a blessing to have it available out here. Service is stellar, ambience is wonderful. No complaints from this guy. Keep up the great work y'all!

Yelp
Have been here many times. It's a great little local dining experience for us since it's all of 8-10 minutes away. Don't let the area put you off, this is a higher end menu but relaxed dining experience in a rural area. The menu is as diverse as it is delicious. From brick oven pizzas to artesian burgers and delicious mains. You can't go wrong. Try the bourbon baked Brussels sprouts as an appetizer, they're to die for! As for the service. Top notch. They're attentive without being clingy or pushy. Oh one thing to be mindful of, they take reservations for a reason. Be mindful of when you want to eat and the busiest hours of operation. If you want to eat on the middle of them or a larger party make a reservation.

Yelp
What an AMAZING restaurant! We were traveling and looking for a Sunday morning breakfast stop and were lucky enough to happen upon this place! Beautiful aesthetics, roomy inside, great artwork, and very comfortable and inviting. We sat at a high top in the bar. Our server was so friendly and professional. Service was fast and the breakfast food hit the spot. DELICIOUS! The screwdriver was good too. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be making this our "go-to" spot to stop at when traveling that way. ENJOY!!

Yelp
Incredibly disappointed. This was not our first time there, so we had high expectations We had 6:00 pm reservations and were seated right on time. Took 50 minutes to get our salads. (which seemed to have sat the entire 50 minutes with dressing on it) All the while, our little blonde waitress leaned on the edge of a booth, talking and laughing with friends. Literally had to ask her to bring them. Salmon was good (definitely not great), they were out of baked potatoes at 7:00 so we had to have roasted reds which were nothing special and were barely warm enough to serve. Going to be a good while before we go back.

Yelp
Food and service was great. We were a little taken a back with the attitude from the hostess, but after we were sat down, everything was great.

Yelp
Great friendly service. The wood fire pizza was delicious with unique flavor combinations that I won't have tried anywhere else. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Service and food is great but watch out for the so called bottomless mimosa's. Apparently if you have 4 of them during the time period that they are bottomless that is considered taking advantage of them (according to one person in particular there).

Yelp
Food and service have all been great every time that I've been here. Make reservations for Friday or Saturday evenings.

Yelp
Have ate here five times and the food is always delicious. Service is always good. Very nice restaurant.

Yelp
Another one of my favorite places, I am obsessed with their wood fire pizzas an the steak chimchurri bowl. Awesome staff, fun atmosphere!

Yelp
The four of us went there on Saturday - two of us had the prime rib, one had the chicken marsaila? and one the walleye. Service was great, the prime rib was barely warm and not overly tender and had very little flavor, the aujus was a gravy type juice that was not very warm and neither of us thought much of the weird taste. The other two meals were very good, the salads were plenty full and contained lots of vegies. Suggestions: Bread for with the salads and warm plates for the prime rib. The Long Island Tea was great! Prices are a bit on the high side for being outside of the cities.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! We had reservation at 6 and got there 5 mins before 6 and they sat use right away that never happens at any of the other restaurants we have been to. The food was amazing! Good portions, hot and fresh. We will definitely be back soon!! The only complaint I would have is that our server did come back and ask us how our food was or if we needed anything else but she had her butt handed to her as this place was Super busy. We will be back soon!

Yelp
First time at the A-Town Tavern. Had heard great reviews from friends, so though it was worth the try. It truly was. Chef Craig and his staff have a hidden gem in the area. I had the mahi mahi, bride the prawns. Both were delicious. Reservations were required, and place was busy but not overly busy. The food was top notch, as was the service. Lots of menu items, but not too many. Will definitely go there again!

Yelp
Our group of 4 visited this restaurant on Saturday, Jan 29. We made reservations - highly recommend doing so, as it was packed. Being winter we were unable to enjoy the outside patio, but wow! We will be back to dine out there for sure! Interior is warm and homey, on trend, without being pretentious. You will feel at ease dressed up, or in jeans. Food is outstanding! Came out hot, as ordered and exactly as described on the menu. We had steak, cooked perfectly, also meatloaf and the Caramel Apple salad. All were fabulous! The sides were lovely. Honey lavender carrots, corn chowder that's outstanding ( not soup) , roasted baby reds seasoned to perfection. We had a warm caramel dessert that we shared, and it reminded me of Applebee's Maple brownie in flavor, but we enjoyed every bite! If there was a down side, the chocolate martini was disgusting at best. All alcohol and no flavor. Skip that, and you're good. :) Our waiter was efficient, professional and very well versed in the menu, but no smile and not friendly. He also was not very attentive. Never checked to see if we had everything, how it was tasting, if we needed more drinks, etc.... however, the place was packed, so maybe that's why. We didn't order the pizza, but did see many of them come out to the dining room. They are baked in a wood fired oven and looked very enticing. Even if its a drive for you to go.... highly recommend going, you will not be disappointed.
