"It took the founder’s wife and son three years to build A-Yu’s second outlet that spans over 3,000 square metres. Just like the original branch, this restaurant uses only the freshest beef from Shanhua district and serves it in beef stock hotpot to let its natural flavours shine. Order different bovine cuts on a form, but help yourself to the sides, veggies, drinks or the famous braised beef rice. Reservations aren’t accepted so expect long queues." - Michelin Inspector

For a Michelin star, I was not impressed and didn't have a wow effect. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, and the beef meet is fresh and tasty. The soupe is nice. The lever is well prepared. Something strang, you have to buy your vegetables first at the entrance like in supermarket and pay it. Then go to your table and order your food, then coock your vegetables in a hot pot. The value for money is okayish. It's a popular place and apparently you need to queue... it's not worth to queue. I got in without waiting.

Get here early is my advice. Or at least send one person to line up first. Our taxi took us here at 4:07 PM when the store opens at 5 PM. There was already 10 people in line before us. By the time it hit 4:50PM there was probably 80 people in line behind us. There is all you can eat braised pork on white rice. The freshly slaughtered sliced on site Beef is extremely tender and delicious and relatively well priced. highly enjoyable, and definitely recommend it to tourists and locals alike.

Beef hotpot was good despite the Michelin. But it definitely was not a WOW. Light delicate broth. Brisket and tendons pre stewed soft. Beautiful decor, 4 floors of tables. Allowing much more people to get a table without a lengthy wait. I've had better.

I visited the old A-Yu beef hotpot quite often, this is my first time to visit their new shop, much bigger and modern. The hotpot soup and the beef are still good, one of my best Tainan beef hotpot so far. Don’t miss their braised beef rice, you can take it for free at the self serve bar.

Good beef hotpot! Better come earlier then opening time to avoid long wait!

Great refreshing beef soup. Doesn't get taste fatigue after multiple bowls of soup. Beef balls are great to have with hotpot and braised pork rice is comparable to those sold in stores around taiwan. In queue for about 1.5hours but worth it.

This place is worth coming if you don't come at peak time. Broth is good we got a plate of beef slice for 300 and pig heart for 250。 Braised pork rice is all u can eat good atmosphere and service but cost is relatively high and not worth a long wait

We had our NTNU Music ‘69 Class Reunion in summer 2010. Finally returned to this legendary beef hot pot restaurant after 9 years of absence. The sumptuous and totally delectable dishes are absolutely enjoyable even in this hot summer evening. We had to wait for 30-40 minutes. But it was tidally worth it! The managers even swung by taught us how to cook the raw beef properly, so we won’t over cook it and became stony beef 🥩! LOL! The free and unlimited meaty rice bowls are big welcome pluses!
