My favorite wine 🍷 Review ✍️ Hey guys i want to share a quick review with you guys if I may if anybody knows me knows that my favorite bottle of wine has to be port wine I don't know what it is it's something about this wine that's makes it a favorite of mine a it it's a Portugal wine it has 20% Brandy alcohol content Im never disappointed every time I stopped into this boutique I always get a different bottle you cannot go wrong from the 6 grapes , or any of the vintage or tawny ports. Here's a interesting facts: The difference between port wine vs red wine? Port wine is a sweet fortified wine from Portugal. The big difference between a Port wine and red wine is that a spirit is added to Port, which makes it higher in alcohol (giving it a more robust taste!). Over 80 grape varieties can be used to make Port, Port is a medium-tannin wine with notes of ripe, musky berries like raspberry and blackberry, bitter chocolate, and buttery, nutty caramel. Older ports contain concentrated notes of dried fruit, while younger ports taste of lighter-bodied red fruits, like strawberries I have introduced my family and friends to port wine they are absolutely in love with it up on the first sip. I frequently go here for premium alcohol the owner always has something new for me to sample including today's pick-up this nice DeLeon tequila. This was also the 1st place were I sampled maestro dobel 50

I am a serious Scotch and Bourbon Whisky guy. I was totally surprised by the vast selection of aged and single malt rarities they have. My latest choice was Uncle Nearest (great piece of history) and 14yr Glenlivet. Stopping in once a week to see what’s new. Store is also very eye pleasing and the staff has been nice with a sense of humor making it comfortable. I decided not to be the guy that waits for something bad before writing a review. Look what I found in my Silver Oaks Wine stash! I asked Bing: "What is the 'Wine Spectator' rating of a 2007 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon?" The response is EXACTLY what I expected which is why I asked to confirm-"Wine Spectator rated the overall vintage 99 points. The only other vintage to ever receive a near-perfect score was the legendary 1997 vintage, and Robert Parker has rated the 2007 vintage higher than 1997." Recently went to the 75th street location as its closest to my home to purchase a bottle of Weller bourbon, i saw an ad stating it was on sale for $50. The young lady behind the counter stated it was in fact $80 and the sale price only applied to the Hyde Park location. After making the trip to Hyde Park the woman behind the counter said they could have price matched at 75th and given me the sale price therefore saving me the drive, well to little to late. So the question is why the price disparity, same company same owner & why isn't the staff trained to know about the price matching policy?? Otherwise very well stocked and clean business.

Really impressed with this store! They have so much variety and the prices are on point. I love that they offer different wines and spirits than everyone else. It's way nicer than anyplace around and they always have things in stock The staff always is on point with questions and recommendations and you can get in and out fast. Definitely recommend

I searched high and low for Blantons Bourbon, and one phone call I was set. I've always loved this store for their tasting to the selection of beverages. There has never been a time I've been in, and management not greeted or recommended products. This just made my experience even greater. Thanks, Hana! Remember to ask for Hana!

Abdul has A1 customer service skills. He's very knowledgeable on the spirits they have.

I came across this place off a flyer on Instagram and I wasn't disappointed at all. The store is fully stocked with great customer service and great prices. Eddie was very helpful on helping me with a last minute bday gift. I also liked the fact they had a huge variety of hard to find bottles including a rose ace of spades which isn't commonly in stock most places ask for a deposit to order. They also have a monthly flyer with great deals I will definitely be back and recommend checking this place out.

Great service, great selection, and great deals. Can't go wrong here. From whiskey to vodka, from beers to wine, whatever you need they got and if they don't have, they'll get it for you. This also have a small cigar section as well.

When I think of A&S I think of the owner. He is a good person who hosts wine tastings to educate his clientele. He introduced me to my favorite wine. I told him what I enjoy and he paired ME with a bottle that I now love. No matter how convenient it is to get liquor while at the grocery store, I would much rather buy alcohol at A & S.

I love A&S Beverages because when I walk in, the Security says hello, Carlos asks if I need help, and Shannon, behind the register, is always smiling with her eyes, so I know she is smiling behind her mask. She always asks me how I am doing, and never forgets my name. She is friendly, attentive, and always makes me feel like a regular. She's the first person who took care of me when I walked in my first time and has taken care of me ever since. This location recognizes their loyal customers and show their appreciation with discounts, and for those reasons, I will continue to go back!!!

This place is an absolute gem! I've been several times and always walk out with a great bottle. Whatever spirit you're looking for, you are likely to find here at a great price! A & S is my favorite southside liquor store. Hannah does a fantastic job keeping a the shelves stocked with the best and hardest to find bottles. Did I mention the prices are great too? 10/10 recommend A&S!

I love this liquor store. That always have something new and interesting to try and the owners know what they're talking about. It's amazing how much you can find in such a tiny space. They just opened a new store on 51st and Halsted too.

Man. Can we say not your average liquor store. It's a liquor boutique. I seen so many great deals and the customer service is great. I asked question the answered and also gave me some great recommendations. I will be back there. I live in Hyde Park but it's well worth the drive. One thing I love is great service and I got that.

First of all this is not a liquor store its a liquor boutique very high class, wine tasting, beautiful cashier and give aways if you don't no now you do head over to A & S and get great service. Eddie is a master at teaching about wine ask for him if you have any questions.

Great place to purchase liquor! Excellent selection of top shelf bottles! Owner is very nice and knows his inventory! All the staff are pleasant and helpful! Went to the Cognac Class this evening and it was great! Victor from Pierre Ferrand was so knowledgeable and his French accent was charming! I learned a lot and definitely a cognac fan now. The owner Eddie was right on hand with fruits, cheese and chocolate for pairing. A great time all around!

I can't believe I hadn't been to this place before now. I was looking for a specific wine that isn't widely distributed. While going to the brand of wine's website for locations near me, A & S was listed. I called to make sure they had the wine in stock, and they said they did. So I took a trip with my husband to pick it up, and found out that this place sells A LOT of rare finds. Not only that, the owner is very personable and took the time to get to know us and our taste. We found more wine to try and are thrilled that we know a little more about how wine is made. Hidden gem for sure. Definitely will return.

Well what can I say? They have EVERYTHING you want! This is not your average liquor store they are a liquor boutique, nowhere in this neighborhood will you find this selection of wine and spirits, being a conseuer of wine, I can find everything for every palette! Not just moscato!!! Which is for novice wine drinkers, Come to A&S liquor Boutique and be amazed by the selection and the price!

Great place for purchasing carryout selections but also a great social vibe each week as customers gather for the latest offerings designed by Eddie. A&S offers wine, wine tastings, cigars, and premium liquors. The place has gone from an average south side liquor store to a boutique that makes other liquor stores pale in comparison, you really cannot find something similar on the south side of Chicago. Customer service is great, the store is clean and well stocked, even has security to encourage harmony inside and outside the store. Recently added a much needed parking lot and improved the sign on the business making it easy to find. Clearly this business owner cares about his customers and puts profit back into the business so customers enjoy the atmosphere. No delivery yet, but who knows, they could be offering delivery by now? Eddie do you hear me?

I have always been a fan of Kenwood Liquor but A & S, was a nice surprise. They help you with wine selections and even give you a wine tasting. It's clean, organized and really cool. Its in the "Hood" but its NOT dangerous at all. They didn't have no Plexiglass for the exchange, it was open and relaxed. I will be back!

My experience exceeded all expectations!!! From the wine tasting, to the mixing class, all the way to the counter of friendly staff... everything was exceptional. The shelves were fully stocked, I was introduced to new liquors I had never tried, shown how to properly hold a wine glass and even educated on the origins of cognac. Wow! All while talking, laughing, nibbling and sipping... I loved it. The owner was very hands-on and the staff was wonderful. See you guys next week...

I've encountered a lot of business owners and I have NEVER witness such a genuine, knowledgeable, relational and compassionate person in this field. In addition, the ambiance matches the owners warm spirit and class! Ahmed and team are definitely unique and a great asset to the community! I HIGHLY recommend this business for all of your beverage needs.... Great Price for GREAT quality in product & service!
