Aaron's Taco Cart'el

This review is long overdue! I placed a catering order for a group of 25 back in the fall and everything was incredible, from the quality to the communication. Aaron, the owner, was very responsive despite being out of the country and made sure that our order was perfect. The food was prepared and ready on time, and it was so fresh. Prices aren’t crazy compared to other places, though I don’t mind paying more here given the high quality ingredients. Thank you again — we always have your takeout but will keep you in mind for catering moving forward!

First time there today. I was lucky enough to meet the “dishwasher” while I was ordering. I went with their chicken quesadilla and it was delicious! Friendly staff as well. I’ll be back there again soon!

Been going to Aaron’s for some time now. Aarons and his team consistently deliver fresh, amazing tasting food. Portions are generous, prices are fair, food is simply amazing. Aaron’s recently put a spicy chicken sandwich on the menu as a special, I never thought I would give the credit to a taco place, but Aaron, that was the BEST chicken sandwich I had. Thank you for that. And the cartel hot was no joke! Amazing heat and flavor! Amateur heat heads beware!

Awesome place and A++ quality…. Owner Aaron is a class act and had the pleasure of meeting him today. I don’t typically go out for lunch but needed a place to go as my car was being serviced down the street . I got the burrito (with the habanero pineapple salsa of course ) and it was great. Go here you will not be disappointed.

The burritos are unbeatable . Stuffed full and awesome flavor. It literally filled my stomach and my soul with happiness. 10/10 would recommend. Great and friendly service too.

Aarons taco cartel is delicious. Good food and fast. Aaron takes care of the food and you can taste it. I have eaten here several times.

I hesitate to post this because I'm selfish and want to keep this place hidden and to myself, but they deserve to be recognized. Food is ALWAYS fantastic. Take-out is packed well (although remind them to add the sauces you ordered because sometimes it's missing) and it is ALWAYS fresh and made to perfection. We always get take-out, but sometimes my kids will eat there. It's super casual, not fancy at all, and mostly a take-out place. Hands down the best Mexican food in this area. I know there are a few other places around here, and people are loyal, but as far as quality and flavor, give this place a try at least once. The prices are reasonable, if they start to increase it would be tough to go as often as we do (and I wish there was a reward program) but what you get is fast service and authentic and delicious food.

Aaron's has the best tacos in the area and have recently added a chicken sandwich special to their menu. This chicken sandwich is incredible! Absolutely BLOWS AWAY places that specialize in chicken sandwiches, puts them to shame! I have had many chicken sandwiches all over the state from horrible to amazing and not one has compared to this. You would be remised to get an order from Aaron's and not add this special into your cart while it is still on their menu. Place is absolutely delicious and I hope they add this as a staple to their regular menu going forward.

This is a gem! Thanks, Aaron, for a healthy and delicious meal!. I bought two burrito bowls w carnitas, beans, rice, Pico de Gallo, lettuce, and tomatillo sauce. One for me, and one for my hubby. Hubby said the meal was 9.5 over 10 because I forgot to ask for cream for his. I gave it 10 over 10 to mine. I love cooking and I am very happy with myself when I can prepare something as well. Clearly, Aaron is a sophisticated cook who knows how to replicate authentic food while adding his own spin. I am a foody myself, very picky, and grateful I found this place. I also ordered the guacamole and chips: the guacamole was fresh, and the chips tasted like real corn. Awesome!! My credit card had a problem and I had to go back later to pay. Aaron was not there to express my appreciation to him in person. I will be back soon to try the rest of the menu. To make things even better, parking is across the street. P.S. The food is abundant, I saved half for a second meal.

Fiyah Fire, Gas, bussin, tasteful, dericious, scrumptious tacos 10/10

The carnitas are melt in your mouth! So glad I tried them. We ordered pick up for 3 gals and the portions were pretty hefty. I ordered tacos (with everything) and carnitas. They really loaded them up! The meat was the star of these tacos. My friends got chicken which was good but definitely not as tasty as the pork. I'd recommend trying if you're in the area. It's also cheap (around $10 per person).

Just ordered the nachos and the brisket enchilada special plus some tator tots. Holy mother. I mean oh. My. God. So freaking amazing. The flavors. The freshness. The sides. Absolutely outstanding. Cannot wait to go back with the whole family. DELICIOUS!!!!!

Nothing better in this world than a birria taco. A nicely braised birria taco. This place has all the right sauces and all the right moves. If you are purist and just want a mild sauce, they got you covered. If you want to burn more mouth off, they have you covered too. You get 3 stuffed tacos for 15 dollars which is a good deal. Good parking nearby in a nice neighborhood. It is a great lunch meal or early dinner. Take a seat and enjoy.

Yum Yum In My Tum Tum! This Food Is So Delicious I Keep Coming Back For More. No Offense Taco Lovers But I'm On Team Burrito.

I regret not knowing this place existed sooner! You can call to order or order online! Super convenient :) They only do take out now due to the pandemic. There are plenty of street parkings around the restaurant, the parking lot next door is reserved parking! I got a meal of Aaron's choice. He picked 3 things off his menu that he wanted me to try! I did take some pictures there and Aaron was super helpful, he pulled out more lights just so I could get the perfect shots my food blog ^_^ customer service is 10/10! The food took about 20 minutes when I came in during dinner time, right before closing. They were super busy and for only 2 people handling dinner service, they did an amazing job! I loooooved how fresh all the food was and let me tell you, they do NOT skimp on these! Each dish was packed to the brim, and gosh it was so filling. We got 3 things and the 4 of us were super full. This is definitely a hidden gem I didn't know about and you can definitely catch me coming back here again!

I had first tried these guys on cinco de mayo, which wasn't really a fair shot because they were slammed. My impression at that time was that their tacos were just okay. But yesterday I tried them again at a less busy time and my mind has changed from just okay to SUPER YUM! I ordered three tacos one with a corn tortilla, one flour and one crunchy. All tortillas were delicious. I especially love that they doubled up on the corn, which tend to easily fall apart. I ordered one mojo chicken and pork carnitas. The meat was tender and the toppings (which I was able to order individually online) were sufficient. I also ordered a side of queso. That's my only complaint---it's not what I expected. It was almost like a chili con queso without the chili. All in all, the tacos were individually prepared, well packaged, fresh, tasty and ready on time. It is going to be my go-to place now!

Basic Mexican food. Feels like I could do the same at home. Worth it on nights you don't feel like cooking. Nothing I would go out of my way for. There's better Mexican food around Boston. I even like Qdoba better, as it has more flavor options.

New to Massachusetts and have been exploring the food here and the new areas. Decided to try this place last night and had to rush to pick up our food all the way from Cambridge after a rude call from the owner due to which we didn't see the one way sign and then were greeted by the owner rudely talking about us before we even left the store. Initially left a good rating for the food but no food is worth this level of insult and humiliation. Also noticed other reviews where they have complained about the rude staff as well. Horrible service. Deserves negative ratings. Taking off the stars mainly because of the staff here - they are rude. I called them to ask if they can come drop the food in the car since we already paid for the food online and were not comfortable going inside due to Covid. The two guys over there were just standing talking to each other yet still refused to accommodate that small request. The last straw was when they were talking about us while we were leaving after picking up the food from inside. Very rude. Also them calling me after I placed the order online saying we don't give toppings and sauce separately - this is the last time. We asked for it separately so that the food doesn't get soggy. All restaurants provide that level of service for take outs. No need to be rude about it. Edit - The owner is definitely rude. No we did not order every topping and sauce you offered. Also I praised the food and flavor and as far as gratuity/tip is concerned - we tip in cash and tip is earned based on the service provided. Its not something you just deserve by default. Don't need to be rude - I was just writing my honest opinion. No need to talk about customers rudely. Won't be coming back just because of this. Learn some basic manners.

There's a reason these guys have a 5-star average. My wife and I walked over Fri evening for dinner. As you walk around the corner from the town center, you can't see the sign, but you can smell the food. Just follow your nose! I went with the tri-taco option as I'm a sucker for any type of combo meal - one chicken, one pork, and one beef. I chose different shells for each. My wife went with the loaded tater tot option with chicken because it's not something you see often. The food was delicious and totally hit the spot. All the meats were very fresh tasting - good flavor, not dry, cooked just right. My personal favorite was the chicken. I'm also not a huge cilantro fan, so the guys behind the counter gave me a small sample of their pico (which has cilantro in it) so I could try it before ordering it. My wife loved the tater tot dish. She can eat like a truck driver at times, but she couldn't finish it. The portions were pretty substantial and the costs were very reasonable. Everyone that worked there was super friendly. There was a little bit of a delay paying because of multiple phone orders and they were extremely apologetic when it wasn't even that long of a wait. Everyone behind the counter, including Aaron the owner, were working hard. If you are looking for something sweet after your meal, try the churros. They are out of this world. I think they put some type of cream in the middle and they are amazing. To echo the other reviews - this place is a gem. Definitely worth a visit. Just make sure your pants have an elastic waist :-).

KILLER FOOD! On two diff occasions I stopped by here and it was bangin'! Unreal. I'm a Texan and we take our Mexican food very seriously... so I say this with the utmost sincerity: Aaron's is a MUST GO if you're within a hundred mile radius of this place. Chill vibes and good music. Relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. Hidden gem!

My second time at Aaron's. Waited on a busy Friday night, got the food home and found one of our orders was missing. I called (after closing), they answered, said they had found my order, apologized, and asked if I'd like to come back or have it taken off the bill. I had little kids going to bed, so going back out wasn't going to work. Accidents happen. A minute later, I got a call back asking for my address and the owner personally delivered my burrito along with an extra appetizer. Of course, as with the first time, it was excellent. This is a tough time to run a small business and I certainly understand their situation. I'll be back for sure.

Food is delicious. Takeout only but so worth it. Great vegetarian meals. I ordered an hour in advance for a specific pickup time and was glad that the food was prepared according to pickup time and not just sitting in a warmer. Will absolutely continue going.

Everything here is so damn good. The birria tacos got me hooked, but I'm also a fan of the quesadillas and the burrito bowl. It tastes so much better than Chipotle, and the price is better. No brainer. Definitely try this place.

**** A MUST!!! **** I've eaten tacos from Massachusetts to California, and these are among the best I've had. Very flavorful and created with a delicate balance of ingredients. Generous portions, friendly counter staff. A destination to visit if you are ever passing through Stoneham.

I think they may be having issues with their online ordering system. I specifically checked off tater tots as a side and when the order came I discovered it was boring tortilla chips. Thinking they were wrong, I double checked and not only did the receipt on the bag say tortilla chips but so did the email I received. Not sure why there was a hiccup but that was disappointing (and yes, I know I should have actually read the email and/or looked at the bag so I will in the future for sure). The tortilla chips were just okay. Bland and we ended up making a queso dip for them. The burrito was also just okay (kind of a just okay experience). I wanted it to have lettuce but found none (and that was on the receipt as being part of it). The rice was nice. The chicken was boring. Not much sour cream. Not much flavor. It was filling but nothing I'd go out of my way to order again. The man making the food was nice and mine was done before the scheduled time but honestly, I felt like I overpaid for the bland food I received.

WHAT?..Why is this place messaging me at 1am two days after our initial conversation...Sad that we were dedicated Aaron's customers but after Cinco de Mayo and after their response to my complaints i will never ever ever order from here again. I placed my order at 5:52pm for a 6:45pm pick up and it wasn't till 7:00pm that i received an order confirmation email that my pick up time is 7:45pm!!!? By that time we were already there to pick up the food. We didn't get the food till 8pm. As you can imagine how frustrating this is I reached out and as you can see in the pictures instead of apologizing nicely they were very rude. To top it off take a look at the last message they sent a day after the conversation finished. Great customer service!

we go out of our way to enjoy this food. Everything bursts with flavor and the ingredients are super fresh. Aaron knows what he is doing! we even do take out and order extras because it tastes so good.

I definitely would not go to this place! I ordered something online and it was 30 minutes late , I completely understand it was busy. At the 30 minute mark, someone called to tell me they ran out of vegetables. I said no problem and I would come in to sort it out. When I came in to inquire about the order, I asked about the vegetables situation. I am uncertain if the owner was extremely stressed. But he responded to my inquires about the vegetables , in an extremely hostile way! Stating " I don't know what you want me to do." I ordered three items and I was trying to explain to him that there was a vegetarian in the group, so what were my options if the veggies were out. At this point he became increasingly angry and was yelling at me " why would I give a vegetarian pork". Extremely confused my mothers tried to work with him and he became extremely disrespectful to my MOM! When me and my mother pulled back he continued being unprofessional, condescending, interrupting us, and hostile. I asked for him to cancel the order and he replied " I don't care I'm making a lot of money tonight anyways." He kept saying " I don't care". Listen I have never had the food, I can't testify to the quality however I do not support disrespectful people. I don't think other people should either.

Got the carnitas and the chicken tacos. They were fairly bland but I suppose better than usual fare in this area. Not what I'd class as "authentic" as in other reviews, but I'm not sure they bill themselves as such anyways.

So the owner contacted me after my last review, asked me to consider giving them another chance. I decided to give them another shot, but I wasn't going to do the you complained on Yelp, here's our best service and a free meal. Went in there yesterday and the owner happened to make me a burrito. I got my go to chicken burrito with rice and refried beans, lettuce, cheese, crema and hot salsa. The burrito was phenomenal, I really enjoyed it. Everything seemed fresh on this trip, no dry rice or rock hard beans. I really hope to continue to go back and get this same delicious experience. I love the burritos here and hope to become a regular again.

I've been going here for years. Every time I go I am super satisfied. The prices are great, the portions are big and they always add that little extra something to your order, like lime slices or a few tortilla chips to make it look nice. The food is very flavorful and when you crave tacos this hits the spot! They even know how much toppings to put on their tacos so they are JUST RIGHT- not to soggy, not falling apart, not skimpy. The meat is very flavorful and not to lean not to greasy. Just right. Love this place!

Tried this place for the first time-- my fiancé and I each got three tacos with some guac and queso on the side. The tacos were LOADED-- so much meat, we both have enough for leftovers tomorrow. Carnitas won for both of us. Will definitely be back!

A hole-in-the-wall place Stoneham cranking out some serious tacos. The Birria tacos were amazing. I got to try some of the amazing hot sauce from behind the counter and it made it that much better. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other items.

Saw these guys through a Instagram post several months back and never forgot about them. Finally flash forward to yesterday when I was running errands in Stoneham and HAD TO stop by. I am from the West Coast and I have been looking EVERYWHERE for birria tacos and long behold I found them!!! The customer service was great, they got a cool group of guys in there. But the food!!!! Omgsh it took me straight back to Cali! Super fresh but also yummy and a lil greasy just like it should be. My friend got regular tacos but double decker style so it was hard taco wrapped in soft taco and damn maybe not super authentic but definitely super good. I think this place is cool because it definitely has super authentic Mexican food but also gives options to spice it up and add some twists. Also don't skip the chips & queso! Definitely wish they had a location in Boston because they DESERVE IT! Taco truck maybe?! Anyways was worth the drive, got some great food and it made my Saturday! If I am ever in the area again I already know when I'm going! It was so good I didn't even get a picture, that's when you know it was fire.

A little disappointed as I LOVED Aaron's and tell everyone about this joint. Today I ordered a burrito to go and they never put the beans in it. I ordered it with veggies - which literally was 4 huge pieces of red pepper. I'm talking 1/4 cut of a pepper. They were never chopped up. But the worst part was the small curly black hair in it

Came here for a taco Tuesday and it was pretty busy. We had to sit and wait due to them cooking up more meats. Can't complain because it was fresh made and hot hot off the grill. I ordered 1 of each taco they had. My favorite has to be the mojo chicken. It was seasoned very well and has a hint of lime in it. Top it off with their cilantro slaw and it tasted very good. Their tot bowl is massive and it is very filling! It's basically a tray of tots with melted cheese topped of with your choice of meat and fillings. Their churros is good too. It has custard filling in the middle. Overall experience, excellent customer experience, very quick service and friendly staff. Fair pricing.

This was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time! We got the pork carnitas tacos. The pork was delicious and plentiful, the veggies were fresh and crisp, couldn't have asked for better! We also got a side of rice and beans- so much flavor. Will definitely be going back! Can't wait to work our way through the menu

Proceed at your own risk. This place is dirty, the staff was discourteous and did not change gloves betw handling cash and food. the menu is cumbersome, lacks organization and the staff seemed annoyed that we werent more fam with the menu. I'd heard such great things about this restaurant. what a complete let down.

First off- the tacos are massive- I was only able to eat half of each of them! I ordered 3 different ones and with my add-on's they were around 4.50-5 dollars a piece- which for the size of them I think is a steal. Also- you can customize them quite a bit which I really liked. The carnitas and chicken were both delicious. We also also got the nachos- but after eating the tacos I was too full to have much of them. However they were also really good- lots of toppings and well spread out. Everything tasted fresh and my husband also loved the queso. I only wish they had some sort of a fish or shrimp taco, but that's personal preference and nothing against the restaurant at all. We had no idea this place existed- but we will definitely be back!

I have been on a mission to find the best tacos outside of Mexico and this is the closest I have found around Boston. I highly recommend it. The loaded tots are great too.

We just ordered dinner from here, and it was amazing! It's so great to know a good taqueria is nearby. My husband got barria tacos, I got two tacos and my daughter got a kid's quesadilla. Everyone enjoyed everything, and we will definitely order again.

We had work party and we ordered from Aarons taco cartel the spread was unbelievable everything was fresh and tasted really good I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Can't beat it.
