I really enjoyed the Vegan cardamom scone - it's definitely something I'd come back to get! We got the scone, a 12 oz black sesame latte, and a 16 oz iced black sesame cream latte (both with oatmilk) for $23.50. Definitely the most expensive drink I've had; the 12 oz was $8.75, and the 16 oz was $9.25. I don't personally feel the drinks we got were worth the price, as the black sesame was almost undetectable until i got to the bottom few sips. The foam on the cream latte was pretty good tho! I def feel the scone ($5.50) was worth! Reminds me of one of my favorite scones from my fav coffee shop that closed a while back :) It may be that their drip coffee is where it's at, but I can't speak to that yet 😊 Clean inside, and staff was very friendly.

Google
Had the place pretty much to myself on a rainy Friday morning. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions! The sea salt cream latte was very tasty, if a bit mild on the flavor, and the lavender lemon blackberry scone was a great pairing. I think the limited menu speaks to how much thought has gone into the interesting flavor combos — definitely worth a visit!

Came here for a pre-lunch coffee date and a visit to the nearby art store. The store is very small and cozy and two people are on staff. We ordered the black sesame latte to try. The drink itself is amazing! Love how smokey the flavors are combined and I have since been craving to put black sesame in almost everything! The staff... not much service there... straight up business! No small talk. Put your order in and they are off to get your coffee done. I guess, it's okay if you want to skip the small talk and I get it but a smile does not hurt. Smiles are free! Love that plants are part of their decor and it is a beautiful shop. I'll definitely go back for the latte.

Google
Abba makes the most unique coffee in Portland and possibly anywhere! The iced sea salt cream is simply the best!! A true must for when in PDX.

Google
I love the flavors they offer (pistachio, black sesame, etc) but in my experience they’ve always been on the weaker side and I’ve had to ask for more syrup/sauce in both hot and cold drinks. The coffee itself is good, but when I order a flavored latte I really wanna taste the creamy, nutty flavor of the pistachio butter and a good dose of earthy toasted notes from the black sesame as well. Otherwise, with extra flavoring it really hits the spot.

Google
A cozy little spot to sit and chat. The pistachio latte is one of the best you'll find! The black sesame cream latte, the sea salted cream latte and the Americano are all very well prepared!

Google
Delicious well balanced coffee with friendly team. Tried the orange zest ice coffee and lemon earl grey cookie. So good, look forward to going back again soon.

Google
Decadent coffee, solid flavors, great decor, very nice spot to grab a pistachio or black sesame latte and some pastries! The pistachio latte has a subtle nuttiness. The black sesame latte has a cream of black sesame on top that balances against the more bitter coffee below it. When stirred, it becomes almost like an affogato.

Yelp
I love trying new coffee shops, especially if they have distinct items on their menu. I am a sucker for anything black sesame, so when I heard they have a Black Sesame Latte, I knew I had to try it! Not to mention the shop has a cute and cozy aesthetic with an array of shades of blue. We tried both the Black Sesame Latte and the Nutella Latte. The Nutella Latte had a distinct sweet hazelnut flavor that paired well with the coffee. The Black Sesame Latte was such a perfect balance of nuttiness, subtle sweetness, and bitterness. The black sesame flavor wasn't too overpowering either. There are so many other lattes I will love to try from here but I know I will be tempted to reorder the Black Sesame Latte, it really was that good!

Yelp
My mom and I found this coffee shop on TikTok and decided to check it out. We ordered the Salted Foam Matcha with vanilla, which came out to $20 for both--honestly, way too expensive. The matcha had a beautiful green color, but before mixing, it was pretty bitter and astringent. Once blended, the vanilla took over, and the matcha flavor got lost, which was a little disappointing. The salted foam? Definitely salty. The shop itself is tiny, with only three tables and these awkward single-person counters that made it hard to sit comfortably. We went on a rainy day, and instead of feeling warm and cozy, it was just kind of cold and uninviting. It's in a nice area, though, so if the weather's good, you can take your drink and walk around. Overall, it's a cute spot, but the price and seating situation make it more of a grab-and-go place than a cozy café experience

Yelp
I will start off by saying that I was on a mission for a sesame/sesame foam latte which is what led to my journey to Abba :P Swung by around 10 am on a weekday and was able to snag a corner table spot for me and a friend. Fair warning the rest of the place was already full so plan accordingly! I of course got the black sesame cream latte as advertised by my hankering above and my friend went for a half sweet vanilla latte with oat milk per his usual preference. He also grabbed a breakfast sandwich as he was hangry. Overall, I liked the sesame cream latte but I did wish the cream was a bit thicker/firm and that the black sesame taste was more robust. It was a solid latte and I think I would swing by to try some of their other items though it may not be my go to for a sesame cream latte. Service was very friendly and the shop itself is rather cozy! Street parking in the area isn't too bad but can get crowded so fingers crossed, you get an easy to park spot!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a while and visited today with a friend. The shop is super cute! They have a good variety of parties and latte flavors. I tried the apple cider latte. $8.25 for a large latte is way too expensive for a latte. I'm all for supporting small shops and paying good wages, but this is too much for a latte. The latte itself was good! The espresso was smooth. The apple cider flavor was very similar to eating an apple cereal. Honestly not something I'd order again but something I enjoyed trying. The staff were very kind and I appreciated their help with explaining flavors.

Isabel J.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place because they are supposed to have a really good black sesame latte! It's a cute small coffee shop, probably not a place you go to sit down and work but they do have some nice outdoor tables if you want to sit and chat. I got the black sesame cream latte iced. I was trying to decide between hot and iced but went with iced which I am not sure if the hot would have been better. I did like the latte but I definitely felt like the black sesame was too subtle and needed a bit more oomph of flavor. You could definitely taste the nutty-ness but it was pretty subtle . Overall a good latte!

Wendy S.

Yelp
Small little coffee spot that was really packed on the staurday morning that we went. The coffee is very light, it's either light or light/medium roast. I'm not sure which blend they used for our drinks, but it was light and fruity, not acidic at all. If you like your flavored latte to not be overpowered with coffee, you'll have to check this spot out. We either got the black sesame latte or the injeolmi latte. I prefer the injeolmi latte cold because you can really taste it through the cream on top. The black sesame latte was creamy, light and delicious.

Serena S.

Yelp
Great coffee and friendly staff! Really cute and small shop, a lovely place to escape the cold weather. Would definitely return

Rina P.

Yelp
I was waiting for a song of Abba to play in the background when I went in lol, but calm music played & it was fine being early in the morning. The lady at the register was wide awake for sure hehe. I ordered the hot black sesame latte which was interestingly tasty. I need to try a lemonblackberry lavender scone the next time I visit because it looked good!

Terrence M.

Yelp
Order: pistachio latte hot Pros: The atmosphere was great and the person taking my order was very pleasant to work with. I opted to try this latte as I saw some really great reviews. It wasnt my favorite as I like my lattes to be a little sweet. However, you do get this rich nutty flavor if that is what you are looking for. I will come back to try the sesame latte that was recommended as well. Cons: n/a Cons:

Helen T.

Yelp
Such a nice and cozy cafe! What drew me here was the black sesame latte, and it did not disappoint. After mixing the drink I'd recommend sipping from the cup rather than using a straw so you can taste a balance of the coffee and sesame cream. The pistachio latte was great too. You can really taste the pistachio which can be hit or miss with other coffee shops. I went early morning so it wasn't very busy. Service was quick and workers were nice and friendly. They also have pastries here as well.

Samira D.

Yelp
If you want to try eclectic coffee, definitely try Abba Coffee. The pistachio coffee is a popular choice along with the black truffle.

Paige E.

Yelp
My current hyper fixation is their sesame latte. It's a savory and salty flavor. The shop itself has a reasonable amount of seating to type at or wait for your drink. Service is kind and efficient.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Yum! Unique flavors and friendly service. We came on a Tues morning and it wasn't too busy. The inside has a nice vibe and enough space to get some work done if you want. We got the pistachio latte and the black sesame cream iced latte Both drinks were well made. The pistachio flavor was strong but still balanced with the coffee. The standout drink was the black sesame. Recommend drinking it without a straw so you can sip it with a mix of the cream and the latte. Although I could just eat that cream with a spoon. The black sesame flavor was definitely there on its own but slightly more muted when you drink it with the latte. There was only one lady working there when we were there but she did a good job taking orders and making drinks as quickly as she could. Highly recommend!

Dia’ane d.

Yelp
It was my first time trying this place and it did not disappoint. I came around opening time but there was already another customer ordering and a couple more who strolled in after me before 8 AM. I ordered the iced matcha latte with their house made lavender syrup and it was so yummmm. The barista was working by herself but was able to manage very well and maintained friendly service. There are three square tables with chairs and some bench seating against the walls. The music is moody and instrumental plus a bathroom! Would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick coffee or a study date in the Pearl District.

Tiff L.

Yelp
I'm not from Portland, but every time I come visit I HAVE to come here for the black sesame iced coffee. It's the highlight of my trip. It's nutty and adds a slight sweetness to the coffee. If you don't like your coffee sweet I get mine with 0 added sweetener and it's perfect for me. This place does black sesame coffee the best compared to others I've had. Service is fast and efficient. It's a cute little coffee shop, just a few tables so better to just get the coffee and be on your way.

Michelle W.

Yelp
We made a pit stop here before catching a bus. There was just one lady cashiering and making the drinks but service was so fast and she was so nice! The lattes have a strong and smooth espresso flavor that balanced well with the milk. I also recommend the black sesame cream latte. The black sesame flavor was so fresh and prominent which complimented the latte well. There were also people doing work in the cafe so there's plenty of seating!

R Gin S.

Yelp
Such nice service clean but fun interior and their drinks are so good. I always judge a cafe on the way they make matcha and it's excellent here

Scott S.

Yelp
Good food and coffee but you also pay for it. The space inside was just about fully seated when I was there and the acoustics are pretty poor (typical modern style with hard surfaces) but they have a couple sidewalk seats which I snagged. Had the Pistachio latte ($6.50) with sea salt foam ($2.00) and a Bostock ($7.00) pastry. Was expecting the proce for latte with foam (compare against less and more cafe) but the pastry seemed overpriced although was good. Staff was super friendly and latte came out quickly. Is a good once in a while place.

Haeun J.

Yelp
Abba means "dad" in Korean, and with Korean-style coffees being offered on the menu, I thought this might be something akin to Less and More coffee. I happened to be right! My friend and I got the black sesame cream latte and the sea salt cream latte and they were both soooo good. The black sesame really pops out, and the sea salt was just salty enough to bring out the sweetness of the drink, without it overpowering the coffee flavor. Abba roasts their own beans and their coffee is fantastic in general. Vibes are immaculate with a clean interior. Service is great and they are so eager and patient with explaining things. I'll be back for more!

Theresa B.

Yelp
In a city full of great coffee shops, Abba is a unique gem that stands out! Their flavors are unique (like the iced black sesame latte), their house roasted coffee is perfectly balanced, and the service and ambiance are stellar. They also often host weekend pop-ups for gourmet desserts. Highly recommend a stop in here if you're in the Pearl district!

Melodie D.

Yelp
So excited to see a new coffeeshop open in Portland! Abba Coffee Roasters has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with incredibly friendly and enthusiastic staff. My sister and I ordered their drip coffee (an Arabica blend) and a Sesame Cream Latte. The drip had a full bodied mouthfeel and earthiness with a subtle tang/brightness at the back of the palate. I absolutely loved the Sesame Cream Latte. Well balanced, not too sweet, and definitely leaves a lingering sesame taste on the palate after consumed. Would definitely order again. Would highly recommend paying them a visit-I'll definitely be back!

Jan Michael F.

Yelp
The place is very simple and cute. It is spacious and has a lot of seating available. The barista was very friendly and approachable. The black sesame cream latte was so delicious! I could drink that every day!

Kyle W.

Yelp
This is one of the newer coffee shops in Portland and surprisingly did not have as much hype as others, so I'd consider this to still be a hidden gem. I tried the black sesame cream latte which is coffee with sea salt cream and black sesame flavor. The salty cream contrasts very well with the slightly sweet and bitter coffee, and the black sesame flavor is present but not too overpowering. The cafe aesthetics make this place a nice spot to hangout or work.

Mariko K.

Yelp
I tried an Americano and it was pretty good. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The space is a bit cozy for my taste and it was packed when i went.

Jen M.

Yelp
This is a cute Asian own small coffee shop in Pearl District. Parking is a little tricky to find because of all the restaurants nearby but I was lucky to snag a spot right in front. The space is big enough for a handful of tables and the vibe and decor makes it feel very peaceful. The owners are very friendly and I enjoyed my iced black sesame cream latte. It wasn't too sweet, had a good balance of coffee and milk and was just a great drink on a hot day. One pause point from more frequent visits is that the price point was a bit high (8.25), but it is good for a treat once in a while.

Mellie L.

Yelp
I visited Portland after years and I heard of this new specialty cafe from a friend. I had the hot pistachio latte with oat milk, honey lavender latte and their most popular drip coffee from Yunnan, China they were both so good! The service is great and they sell some pastries and teas as well. I wad able to watch a live artist paint a powerful painting. You all must check it out.

Megan C.

Yelp
overall: 3/5 service: 4/5 food: 3/5 located in a trendy and cute neighborhood, abba coffee roasters is clean and a perfect fit in this area of portland. the inside has sufficient seating with minimalistic and urban finishes leaving patrons feeling calm and comfortable. i came with my friend on an early saturday morning before work because of a cheesecake pop up! the baristas and people working behind the counter were really sweet and accommodating (we asked for forks and a lady gave them to us). we ordered two iced black sesame lattes- and they were just okay. really light black sesame flavor and light coffee flavor. i heard good things about this cafe and was really excited to try both the drinks and the cake pop up, but was a little disappointed by how the drinks tasted (could be because i like my drinks stronger). i'd be down to give this place another try if im in the area, but i don't think i would drive down to get a drink or cake if im not close by.

Faisal S.

Yelp
Relaxed contemporary atmosphere, great service, and the Coffee is amazing! Highly recommend trying their coffee. The strawberry rhubarb was a little stiff cold, probably would taste better if heated.

Charlie T.

Yelp
This is a cool coffee shop located in the Pearl area. We came in and ordered the Black Sesame Cream drink. The drink was very well made and tasted what you would expect it to taste like. They also some other interesting items that I need to try next time.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Cute small and cozy spot! Nice friendly service. Lofi beats and a coffee plant to great you when you walk in :) Love finding spots that roast there own beans! Got two pour overs and and both were excellent

Jennie S.

Yelp
I was excited to see a new Asian owned cafe pop up at the Pearl district, especially the addition of their black sesame and sea salt cream lattes. I grew up enjoying plenty of black sesame desserts and was looking forward to giving their black sesame latte a try. Overall black sesame latte was okay, not too sweet, however black sesame taste was super mild and not as pronounced as I had hoped. Perhaps the coffee masked some of the nutty flavors a bit. Wait was a bit longer than expected, give or take 5-6 minutes. Cafe interior is bright, bold, and new. One large gender-neutral bathroom in the back, great work/study space with outlets on seating perimeters, can seat maybe 16 people. Tables on the perimeters err on the smaller side, so just something to keep in mind if you need more table surface area. Pretty open and convenient street parking. Going to give the sea salt cream latte a try next time.

Ming H.

Yelp
Abba Coffee in Portland is a gem. The hot pistachio latte with oat milk I had was good--smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. This coffee shop is small, it only has 3 small tables and a bench against the wall. So it may be hard to accommodate big group and tougher to sit comfortably. It is a cozy atmosphere and staff were friendly. I will be back to try their other items on the menu.

Alex W.

Yelp
Really loved the vibes! The owner was very friendly and there were a lot of options on the menu. Definitely a good work from cafe spot!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Appreciated all the unique flavors this joint had to offer. I went with the black sesame w/ oat milk which was very tasty. Def recommend it and would go back if I was in the area again.

Tony S.

Yelp
Nice little coffe shop. I enjoyed my drink. I would not hesitate to go back. A nice spot in the Pearl district.

Maisie P.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this coffee shop. I live in the area and have seen a few different coffee shops try to open in this location. Every one has ended up needing to close. Finally, Abba opened and I hope it is here to stay! This is one of the best coffee shops I've been to in Portland. It's small and unassuming, but the pastries, food, drinks and service speak for itself. The owners are incredibly kind and take a lot of pride in their work. I would recommend anything on the menu, but one of my favorites is their special Galbi breakfast sandwich. They are a Korean owned, local business and deserve so much love. They even had a local artist commissioned to paint a custom mural on their wall and have dessert pop ups with local creators. I could sit here and listen to their calming LoFi music until close to read, work, or watch the day go by. Thank you Abba!!

Irene M.

Yelp
We visited Portland and stopped by at this coffee shop. Good service and cozy ambiance. I love this place because they roast their own coffee. It seems like the owners are really passionate and put a lot of thoughts behind their sourcing and roasting process. We took home Honduras and Collective Blend coffee beans. I must say that Honduras is my favorite. I could smell the milk chocolate when I opened the coffee bag. The milk chocolate and berries notes definitely shine through in every sip. Can't wait to go back and try their other beans.

Tim R.

Yelp
Such a cute spot, and friendly team who just opened their first spot. The Black Sesame Latte was really really great. It's complex, rich, not too sweet with a touch of saltiness. I never leave reviews but it was perfection! Was genuinely impressed!

Christina L.

Yelp
Well well well...Abba did the unthinkable! I'm a sucker for anything black sesame and this combination truly won my heart. The nuttiness of the black sesame enhanced the flavors of the coffee. It was creamy, rich and absolutely delicious!!!

Dana H.

Yelp
Everyone who works here is so nice and they make excellent lattes. I ordered the off menu pistachio matcha latte and not only is it tasty but it's made with such care. Not sure what they use for the pistachio but the flavor is outstanding and it's much more substantial and nutty than the syrups you find at other spots (almost like a pistachio paste maybe?). My kids love their hot chocolates and my husband raves about the black sesame iced latte as well. Wonderful addition to the pearl district.

Catherine L.

Yelp
Cozy modern interior and friendly staff. I'm sensitive to caffeine but wanted to check this place out anyway because I had seen some positive reviews online, they were very accommodating in making me a decaf version of their Nutella drink which was delicious. My mom enjoyed her latte as well. Am hoping to come again to try out the iced lattes. :)

Stacie R.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed this little place. I got their drip because they didn't have nonfat milk but my daughter got the rice latte. Oh my goodness, it was delicious and unique. Breakfast sandwich was great too. Their drip was good quality too. I want to come back when I get back to Portland!

Roni C.

Yelp
Well designed intimate space that has a great selection of coffee options. Not every coffee spot does pour over! But they do here!

Vivian T.

Yelp
Happened upon Abba coffee, and I'm so glad I did! I usually love a cortado or cappuccino, but decided to venture out and get their Pistachio latte. It was so yummy - the perfect amount of mild sweetness, and tasted so natural. Usually I don't love lattes because syrups can be artificial-tasting, but this was perfect! Will definitely be getting it again

Rachael V.

Yelp
Fist time trying out Abba was a success. I was excited to find a place in PDX that makes a good cream latte. After living in Seattle and falling in love with this style of latte, the mark was set pretty high. Abba delivered! The sea salt latte was the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and standard coffee flavors. Beautiful and simple presentation. I was slightly bummed that they didn't have any hot speciality coffees on the menu, but the do have a nice tea list if that's more your speed! The inside was very simple and clean. Definitely worth stopping in!

Jeff E.

Yelp
Nestled in among the many smaller shops of the Pearl District is Abba Coffee Roasters. Informative staff + fun pastries and a wonderful coffee = a Portland must.

Doyle L.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! Very well balanced and the quality of the coffee really stands out. They have unique origin coffees, like Yunnan, that was interesting and something I don't see very often. Will be back!

Kate S.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere paired with amazing coffee! The service was so kind and quick. This would be a great place to study, read or work. Highly recommend!!

Camille W.

Yelp
If I could give this place an absolute zero I would...went into this place hoping that it would be a nice stop for a drink. But nope...it was otherwise served with horrible service. My husband and I walked in and we ordered one Yuzu drink from the counter to be added with ice and my husband ordered an iced matcha yuzu drink. Now I expect that with a $6 drink that I would get the entire bottled Yuzu drink but nope the girl at the counter (also mind you was in a mood and her face didn't seem like she wanted to be there at all) proceeds to use ONE bottled Yuzu and pour into both my drink and my husbands drink. My cup was 2/3 empty even with the ice and she didn't even bother to cover it up with more ice! So after spending $19 on these drinks including tip! I expect my drink from the counter I picked up to be used solely for my drink and a seperate bottle of Yuzu for my husband. What a complete scam...
