"The largest corn make in Kane County resides at Abbey Farms, a fall favorite in Aurora that’s known for its annual Pumpkin Daze attraction that’s open through Sunday, October 29. The young and young-at-heart can expect a slew of games, rides, and races, and of course, a pumpkin patch prepped for picking. Seasonal food options include turkey and cranberry sandwiches, Italian beef, chile con carne, and apple cider doughnuts." - Naomi Waxman

I photographed a wedding at Abbey Farms a few years back and it was lovely! Super easy venue to work with. Great experience overall and would love to shoot there again!

We stumbled across this tree farm after driving a far way. Beautiful trees. We didn’t cut ours down but that is an option. There is a beautiful barn / store with delicious food. The best part is the homemade beer from handcrafted from the Benedictine monks in the abbey. Enjoying that at the outdoor stone fireplace was amazing

I loved going here. They have a lot for all ages. From the petting zoo to the hayride. It was a great experience. Definitely worth the price of a $20 admittance which I purchased online. You can also pay upon arrival. Everyone was so friendly, the staff and visitors. I will definitely be back again next year.

Enjoyed a fun day at the farm, we went on a Friday in September it wasn’t busy at all, did little bit of everything except the petting zoo (Only open on the weekend) It’s a mellow place .

Google
Cute!! Unfortunately we came during the week so the petting zoo wasn't open which was soooo disappointing and one of the only reasons we wanted to come here. The kids had fun with everything they could climb and slide down. The tractor ride....well lets just say it was one bumpy ride and dont let any kids sit near the open back where the doors are. We tried to do the corn maze but it was sooo muddy and wet we never got to finish it. We ended up getting a half dozen doughnuts on our way out which so far they are delicious. Staff whom we actually seen, seemed friendly just seemed understaffed here. Overall, a good experience just need to come back on the weekend so we can actually enjoy the petting zoo. Thanks!

My nephews and I had an amazing time cutting down a tree for my house this year and will be back next year! Abbey Farms had a variety of sizes and complimentary hot chocolate and donuts after the tree cutting, which both the kids and I enjoyed. 🙂

Google
It was overall a great family activity to do, and they did a great job of keeping everyone social distancing. Lots of fun and laughs, we definitely did not make it to the end of the corn maze 🤣🤣 and my kids loved the apple cider doughnuts, and the cider. I loved the apple cider with captain Morgan 😍 the only bad thing I would say is that, there weren't any pumpkins to pick. I felt the pumpkins we did see, was there for pictures and props. U can also bring your own food if u want. Heavily noted for next time, especially water. Children 2 and younger gets in free. Great for family night or date night honestly.

We came because we got a Groupon for our entire family. With the Groupon, the price was very reasonable! Without it, I wouldn’t be so inclined to pay so much PP to come. That being said, this place is HUGE and there was so much to do! Not only is there a pumpkin patch, there was a petting zoo, photo ops, huge tire mountains, slides galore, a zip line, giant slides, a huge grounded trampoline, and so much more! Plenty of space to social distance. Although I noticed naughty adults without masks (who were not eating or seated).... If we were starving and kids weren’t grumpy, we would have stayed so much longer than 2.5 hours. We weren’t feeling overprice hot dogs and such.

Yelp
We attended the Saturday night party on the patio event. Well sort of. It was pouring rain so it was moved to inside. You might think that chaos ensued. Nope! Music was set up and long tables were provided. The quartet was upbeat and perfect volume for conversation. We tried the charcuterie tray and the grilled cheese with fruit jam. We also enjoyed the beer flight. Made right there! The employees were busy but very friendly. The manager was very active helping out and talking to guests when it was possible. We will definitely go back and we will bring lots of friends!

Yelp
Abbey Farms is a very warm inviting environment for people of all ages. We purchase our live Christmas tree from this farm and look forward to the donut and hot chocolate they offer from their bakery with purchase. It's a bit pricey but it's the idea of choosing a farm grown tree from a large selection with your family.

Yelp
Word of mouth brought us to this place. An interesting place, the restaurant served lunch, which was very good. Patty Melt was quite tasty, enjoyed the potato salad, the side salad was healthy, fresh , overall lunch was delicious. We looked around, saw they were selling wine which came from California, so we were given a taste and we bought a bottle, very good Cabernet, I'd recommend it. We enjoyed walking around the place, saw they had a nice outdoor seating area. Overall , we would come back during the fresh vegetables season . I do have to say, our waitress was a pleasant individual, She is a good people person, very nice person, I believe her name was Allison. Ok, my disappointment, we heard so much about the peach cobbler which is what brought us here, only to find out this cobbler was discontinued. Needless to say we were disappointed.

Sara R.

Yelp
This place is cute and lots of space, minimal lines on a Saturday, and very cute activities for kids. At $22 admission, I would say it's not as great value as Bengstons. Also many of the activities like the go-carts and pillow bounce are unstaffed and get overrun by bigger kids or even drunk adults. There is wine and beer (and maybe even white claw) sold from a tent with live music. The pro is that there is alcohol for the parents. The con is lots of drunk moms and dads :)

Sonia M.

Yelp
Dog friendly! Went this fall twice. It's very nice and welcoming. Will definitely come back !

Nirja M.

Yelp
Our first time here and I have never had such a terrible experience in my life, and I have been going to pumpkin patches for almost 10 years. Rudest staff member yelled at my 5 year old son so badly and kicked him out in tears without approaching me. I would not recommend this farm to anyone, sonny acres way better.

Wayne R.

Yelp
This is for the restaurant part of Abbey Farms (I haven't gone to the other parts of the farm). We came late on a Friday afternoon around 3:30. They close at 5, so we wanted to stop in a give it a try as we heard they had some good Belgium beers. I'm glad we did. We met some friends for some appetizers and beers. There was NOBODY else there, which is a shame. The chicken quesadillas and artichoke dip were excellent. In fact the artichoke dip came with just the right amount of bread and pita slices. Something that rarely happens. The beer is made by the Marmion Monks from the Abbey with the help of Energy City Brewing. I tried the Tripel and the Quad. Both were excellent (they have a Dubbel too). The place reminds me of a huge barn with lots of tables that you'd find at your grandmothers house. The chairs were even comfortable. The service was great and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Hopefully they'll expand their hours to be a little more "after work" friendly. Afterwards we walked around an shopped at their store, which is on the outer edges of the space. They said they do a busy Sunday Brunch. If their appetizers were any indication, I could see why. We'll definitely have to try it. If they expanded their hours, I could see making a it a destination for dinner. All around a very enjoyable time.

Yelp
Went Sun 10/15. Parking lot seemed full but we lucked out and got a spot close to the entrance (got there around noon, so I think ppl that came early were leaving around then). Despite that, didn't seem too busy. Lines for attractions seemed short/moved fast. Kids enjoyed the petting zoo, zip line, slides, jump pillow and some barrel roll thing. Drink barn with the band was cool. Would definitely come back!

Shannon M.

Yelp
Hadn't been here in a number of years but my friend and I stopped in on the way to Geneva. They have more products than before including cider and donuts and their own beer! Not to mention dips, spreads, sauces and jams, plus gifty holiday stuff. This year with Covid you must make an appointment to cut down your Christmas tree (they also sell precut trees, wreaths, mini trees etc). This is a nice stop for trees or treats :)

Lisa C.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Abbey Farms. We do not have young children nor grandchildren yet so all we could do was people watch. We did enjoy the tractor ride. We were excited to try an apple cider donut with a cup of cider but much to our dismay, they do not sell individual donuts. You have to buy a half dozen. This was a huge disappointment to us because we were traveling from out of state and did not want nor need a half dozen donuts. We felt the advertising was misleading with the donuts and cider.

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
What a cool place. Found a great deal on Groupon, took the whole family and everyone had a great time. I can't believe I have never heard of Abbey Farms before. There are so many things to do here and mostly everything is included in the admission price except for the Hamster Ball activity and the Corn Launcher. There is zip lining, a ninja-type maze that is made up of stretchy rope that is tied across a field of trees replicating lazer lines that'll zap you if touch them, a mountain of giant tires to climb, a corn maze, dirtbikes to ride, a giant slide, a giant pillow to bounce on, and of course the hayride to the actual pumpkin patch. There is even a beer garden inside just in case parents needed a bit of a "pick-me-up" during the day. The staff was super friendly as well. Don't be surprised if you see a few guys in dark brown robes walking around. They are the monks that own the property. One was even kind enough to let me try the corn launcher and it was awesome! This was one of the best pumpkin patches that I've been too. Pumpkin patches are getting so expensive these days that a family of 4 will already cost over $100 just to get in! The Groupon offered was a great price and we were able to enjoy a wonderful fall activity.

Yelp
We took 7 year old granddaughter to Abby farms yesterday for honey fest. It was a beautiful day weather wise and enjoyable for us as well as granddaughter. Abby farms is very family oriented with so much to do. The farm is very clean and well kept. The store had many fun and great honey items for sale. The food in the takeout area was good. The staff is very friendly and very customer service oriented. We highly recommend spending the day at Abby farms and will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Abbey Farms truly has something for everyone to do here! This was was my first time ever coming to this location and I was so pleasantly surprised. It's gigantiThere's a petting zoo, corn maze, pumpkin patch, tire playground, and more. I loved every bit of my experience. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we tried to avoid large crowds and engaging on any hands-on activity but we still had a blast! They are requiring masks but I did see a few people not wearing them in larger crowds, so just be aware. It's okay to remove masks when there is no one around since you are in open air but please remember to keep them on when there are people around. They have sanitizers stationed around. They also have cute signs reminding people to remain socially distant. They are restricting their capacity and require you to set the time you will be coming. If you do not make it within the hour, you cannot extend, so come on time! I cannot wait to come back when the pandemic subsides. Then, I will truly take advantage of all that Abbey Farms has to offer! We did buy from their concession stands and personally, the food was not amazing. We had the burger and the mac and cheese and it tasted a bit bland. But the highlights were the hot dog, donuts, and cider! Their store is amazing though! They sell pumpkin donuts alongside apple cider which is rare. Their apple cider donuts are delicious! And they have a TON of amazing homemade jams, dips, and spreads. I recommend buying the mango salsa. They have a plethora of seasonings and cooking ingredients. So glad to have found this hidden gem in Aurora! We will be back for sure, hopefully after the pandemic is over. I would highly recommend purchasing tickets from Groupon for the best value. Please come and support Abbey Farms!

Shaun M.

Yelp
Before my wife and I were married, we wanted to go out to see a bunch of cool attractions before we got busy with wedding planning. We stumbled onto Abbey Farms in Aurora and I have to say it was an absolutely magical time. We went with our couple friends and it was a great spot for a double date. There were plenty of animals to see, pet, and feed as well as multiple fun attractions. Some of these included the corn maze (I totally didn't get lost in there), a bouncing pad, and a tractor ride through the corn. Though most of these are geared towards children I'm not ashamed to say I had an absolute blast here. The highlight however, has to be the food. You can get such fresh treats like an apple cider that's freshly made right in front of you as well as delicious pumpkin pies. Do NOT miss out on visiting Abbey Farms because you will 100% regret it.

Alysia C.

Yelp
$15 to enter on weekend is pretty expensive considering there isn't much to do for adults besides a small corn maze and pick your own punpkins which you still have to buy. Spent about an hour here, the store is a few sections of tables with items to buy but there is not a large selection at all. Walked through in minutes, no apple butter, no pumpkin butter. I guess the day before we came they had a lot of people there but to see the place completely sold out of these common fall staples in mid-October was disappointing. The corn maze took 5 minutes to walk through. The also have a smaller kids maze we didn't walk in but I can't see why they would need another one since the adult one was so small. The pumpkin selection was decent and why I give this place 2 stars. 45 cents a pound. Walked around the whole place and saw lots of kids activities but nothing that looked too exciting. A slide, a bouncy, a small petting zoo, rubber duck race that looked cheaply thrown together, a lasso area to rope bull statues. Nothing seemed too exciting for a kid and I'm happy I never brought my kids here when they were small, would have felt like even more of a waste. They also have "hamster balls" but if you want to try them you need to arrive early because there are only 4 balls, 2 small and 2 large, which time slots fill up for the whole day fast plus they're extra money besides the entrance fee to try. Saw a sign for some other activities you have to pay more for too but already spent too much at this place.

Charleene R.

Yelp
This place is great for kids and adults that still act like kids. There's plenty of activities to keep the family busy. There's a petting zoo, potato sack slide, corn maze, tractor wagon ride, a small seated zip line, and much more! This year there was even spiked cider, beer and wine being sold. Something to keep you warm while your kid runs a muck! We rented a fire pit and had s'mores as well.. that was a bonus and we'll be back next year!

Lindsey A.

Yelp
We have been going to Abbey Farms to attend their annual Pumpkin Daze event for four years in a row. With all that's going on in the world, I assumed Pumpkin Daze might not happen this year... but not only is it happening, it's a shining example of how businesses can operate during the global pandemic. To say I was impressed with Abbey Farms' approach to making sure everyone remained safe and healthy would be an understatement. Why? Let me list the reasons... - Timed ticketed entrance - Hand sanitizer at the entrances and exits of each activity - Staff at each entrance reminding patrons to use the sanitizer - Masks required on certain attractions (and even when socially distanced, outside, nearly every person I saw kept theirs on!) - Clever signs reminding folks to socially distance (MOOOOOOOOVE back at least 6 feet) - Staff constantly disinfecting surfaces and equipment I haven't seen such stellar Covid-19 practices ANYWHERE. Thank you, Abbey Farms, for doing an epic job.

Jason P.

Yelp
Nice place. I attended an event here. It's big inside. Has a very country theme to it. Not sure what else there is to this place. If you've seen it once, you've seen it enough.

Iqra B.

Yelp
A fun covid-friendly day outdoors with lots and lots of activities. Timed entry, socially distanced, and sanitizer set out everywhere. We were a group of all ages teenagers and adults too and we had a blast. Lots of picture opportunities too!

Diane V.

Yelp
I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Abbey Farms before! We have been purchasing our fresh Christmas trees here for at least 7 years. Trees are beautiful and the service of prepping them to take away on top of your car is excellent. Don't forget to tip the tree man who helps you! This past Christmas season, we weren't able to get our tree until December 2nd since we were so busy with our fundraiser event Nov. 30th and the work after it. But our tree lasted to January 6th, still supple and fragrant even if I stopped watering it on the evening of the 5th! I'm certain it was cut at the farm Thanksgiving week. Inside the huge barn/store you get free hot chocolate and a baked sweet. Lots of goodies for sale, too. We inquired about using the facility for a special event, and learned that many wedding receptions are held there!

Jen M.

Yelp
We set out on Saturday with high hopes and Christmas tree dreams. We got that and more! When we arrived, we were directed to areas of the farm that had still had trees we could cut down ourselves. Admittedly, the selection was a bit sparse, but it was mid-December already, so I think that's to be expected. We found a tree that was perfect in its imperfections, so we got to work with our rented saw. Let me rephrase, my husband got to work. We cheered him on as he sweated and sawed. The guys over at the tree bagging area were very helpful and kind. The tree cost us $55 after we got our deposit back for the saw. What we didn't expect was the lovely store! It's gorgeous inside and the complimentary hot chocolate and donuts will keep us coming back year after year. We also sampled a giant brat and pear and goat cheese flatbread - truly delicious! We couldn't leave without buying a cherry crisp mix, Abbey Farms cream soda, shea butter hand cream and decorative gnome. It was a really fun afternoon. We'll be back next year!

Monica B.

Yelp
A great place for the family and kids. A lot of pumpkin to pick. Friendly staff and nice maintain place.

Dylan W.

Yelp
No pumpkins. 9$ for 6 cider donuts. 18$ for an entry. way overpriced and not worth the bother.

Linda D.

Yelp
Due to Covid, times entry which was great! Lots of games & fun things to do for kids of all ages. They had a beverage station: hot cider, spiked, beer, wine. Concessions. Best of all: donuts! Cider donuts, pumpkin glazed too! I say it's a fun, clean, family get together. Equipment is cleaned frequently. Get your pumpkins, gourds, and more! Highly recommend online e-ticket ordering as they sell out quickly! Especially weekends!

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
I love Abbey Farms! Admittedly I've only been here in the fall season, but I look forward to going every year. The grounds are great and there is so much to explore. Everyone who works here is super friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their job - and most are volunteers! There are a few different entrances to Abbey Farms, but the signage is pretty helpful in directing you where to go. Last year they re-did the parking lot which looks very nice. It is free to browse the barn where they have a nice little market in the fall with pumpkins outside to purchase as well. If you wanted to get the full Pumpkin Daze experience, that does cost extra money, but includes a lot of fun -- petting zoo, zip line, corn maze, beer tent (drinks not included in general admission price), pumpkins, and plenty of photo opportunities! Pumpkin Daze looks like a great time for kids, but we have just as much fun walking around with our dog every year :) The market inside the barn has a ton of great stuff from local folks. You can find dips, jams, crafts, art, home decor and more. On our last visit I purchased a really cute and rustic looking sign for our front door. We always make sure to get some donuts to take home too, because they are delicious! The donuts are baked fresh and it smells amazing in there. We took home a combo back of apple and pumpkin donuts, but I think the apple are my favorite. They have a pavilion you can rent for a private party and they do bonfire pit rentals as well. Tractor rides happen too, but I'm not sure if that's at specific times or all throughout Pumpkin Daze. Abbey farms also hosts some themed weekend like "grandparents weekend" and "farm olympics". At other times in the year they offer a nice farmer's market as well. Overall, a fun and seasonal place I look forward to attending. Maybe this year we'll pop by during the holidays. We have a fake Christmas tree, but for those of you who go the real route - look no further than Abbey Farms!

Alicia F.

Yelp
First time here and loved the experience. Very organized especially with the covid situation going on. Reservations to purchase a precut or to cut your own tree required to prevent overcrowding. Checkin process was easy. Parking easy. More than enough employees to help. All employees were friendly and helpful. Store was nice with the cutest things and holiday music. We needed help with understanding the tree stand and an employee was very nice and explained it in detail. Seating outside to enjoy the sun and fresh air with hot cocoa. Wonderful experience, will return! Thanks Abbey :)

Amy R.

Yelp
We usually get our Christmas tree at Home Depot, and it's the most boring, utilitarian experience ever. Walk the aisles of their garden center, shake out a tree or two, guesstimate the difficulty of getting it in the house, and go. This year I really wanted to cut down our own tree, but the insanity of holiday schedule disallowed that. I'd resigned myself to Home Depot again when my husband found this place. He called and they said they still had a great selection of pre-cut and cut-it-yourself trees, and to come on by. So we drove out there. The parking lot is small but functional. We were greeted by a young man who directed us where to park and gave us a brochure of how the farm works. We began to wander their pre-cut trees, and everything was too tall. An associate stopped us and mentioned that if we couldn't find one that fit, to talk to the manager and see if he could work with us. We found him and he advised he'd cut one down to the size we needed (8 ft) and give us a deal too! We found one we loved, they gave us a tag, and into the store we went. There, we were greeted with a few cute photo ops, beer samples, FREE donuts and hot chocolate, and the world's friendliest cashiers to complete our purchase. The tree was a little more expensive than Home Depot, but the experience was so worth it. When we walked out, they had cut our tree, shaken out all the needles, and gotten it bundled into netting. We handed them our tag, they tied it securely to the roof of our car, and off we went. The tree didn't budge the whole way home, and getting it into the house was so simple because it was netted up right and the needles had already been shaken out. The whole experience was downright magical. Free holiday snacks?! Incredibly friendly employees from start to finish?! A fantastic tree with TONS of help getting it on the car and on our way?! Abbey Farm has it all. I won't go anywhere else for a Christmas tree ever again, it was such a fantastic experience.

Richard H.

Yelp
Super. Fourth annual trip. gets better every year.

Michelle J.

Yelp
Pumpkin Daze was amazing for our 4 and 5 year old! A variety of outdoor activities and great open space to burn energy. Dont leave without a large bag of kettle corn and apple cider donuts! They have red wagons for free use around the farm too.

Vicky K.

Yelp
This pumpkin farm is awesome. So much to do for kids and such a large property with a lot to see. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy and parking lot was full. Our favorite part was the Petting zoo. Love that it wasn't just the usual goats and sheep as they had so much more a young cow, 2 little pigs, a donkey, chickens, bunny, goose, and yes you can pet them all and with them in a fenced area. Granddaughter also did the huge bouncing pad, tractor ride and a few times of sliding down the hill on a gunnysack. We going back and going to tackle the huge corn maze. We found a couple great pumpkins and also some donuts (pumpkin and apple cider ). Yummmmm. Bring lots of $ because you can go crazy in the store. We probably seen 20 dogs there, so dog friendly, they also had a beer tent that also had wine and water so something for everyone . It was 29.98 for 2 people but so worth the money as there is so much to do and walk around and see.

Britt M.

Yelp
Thanks!

Lindsay J.

Yelp
Today was great...Clouds, drizzle, a wonderful farm and a Yelp event. I never would have made it here without this Yelp event. Thank you Yelp for introducing me to a hidden gem in the fox valley. Pluses +the atmosphere, the space was expansive and there was a ton to do +the tone of the farm was positive and super chill +the kids working were all polite and actually, lovely to talk to +the store and shopping was fun +the plethora of pumpkins to pick out and the ease of purchasing at the end +the corn maze was huge +the attractions are perfect for your 3-7 yo, I'm sure older kids can have fun too, but that it out of my frame of reference Not pluses -the rides are more low key than most 'big' farms -the pony rides are $5, not necessary -the food, I wish I could say different but we did not have good food. Overall, I will go back. The pros outweigh the cons and the mood was so positive, I'd go just to smile. Thanks to Yelp for having an event here, you showed me a pumpkin patch I never had heard about.

Nicole W.

Yelp
Bought our Christmas tree on Wednesday (the day before thanksgiving) and it was already dropping needles like crazy by Saturday. Really disappointing.

Daniel G.

Yelp
If you're going to take part in the fall experiences, you might as well knock them all out here! Good apple donuts with apple cider, a rainbow pumpkin field and enough corn to sooth your soul. Also, mostly dog friendly for those of us who have furbabies instead of fleshbabies.

Tiffany K.

Yelp
I was a bit hesitant to be out and about with a baby during covid but I would like to say that I have no regrets and was very impressed with the frequent sanitation and the respectfulness in terms of social distancing. The staff were super friendly and the donuts were seriously amazing. I got half a dozen of the pumpkin and half a dozen of the Apple cider. I wish I got more! I will most definitely come back!

Theresa C.

Yelp
Had a ball today with my sweet boy! Lots of fun exploring ! He was the only pup there so got lots of attention ! He enjoyed his first time at the pumpkin patch !

Lynn P.

Yelp
The last time I was here with my adult son to cut a live Christmas tree was December 2015. The selection was abysmal and after searching for a long time we finally found an enormous tree that we struggled with. We walked all over looking but all we saw were Charlie Brown Christmas trees. Or tall partially barren misshaped ones. The premises were filled with very deep extreme ruts that are best navigated with an off road vehicle. Staff was hard to find for help or assistance. I honestly do not remember details of bailing nor tying the tree up to the trunk. Its been 3 years but what I share in this review are accurate memories. The only thing I liked about this place was that it was only 30 minutes from where I live. I will not be back.

Faviola T.

Yelp
I give this place a 4 star because it was really nice there. A lot to do for the family. Fun place for the price. And the donuts were delicious! Would have given it a 5 if it wasn't for the food. Not good and way to expensive. Ordered the pizza, brats, burger, coleslaw, potatoe salad (not what I expected it was warm) Nothing had a good flavor. The burger was ok. It looked like you can take food there. Probably would have preferred to do that instead. So I do recommend going if you have kids, but dont expect the food to be that good.

Kylie S.

Yelp
We wanted to cut down a tree for Christmas and this was the perfect place! We arrived with not prepared for the act of tree cutting. Following the signs got us to the shack and there were two people who were nice and explained what to do. $10 deposit and we had a saw and some twine. Off we went to find our tree. There were plenty of nice ones! After searching we found ours! Cut it down and carried it to the car. Attached, we brought it to be shake and netted. The guys were really nice and we went inside to pay while they did everything!

Dan M.

Yelp
For the last 3 years I have been coming to this location to source my holiday trees. I really like the idea of choosing your own and getting dirty in the process. Grab a flashlight, saw, and some hot cocoa and off you go into the forest! The concept of cutting trees down is a strange one. I really hate the feeling of taking one down and and then creepily celebrating its death in my home, but the lifespan of 10 years growth it would never have had without this holiday is better than non existence or contributing to plastic pollution for a ritual. There is a wide variety of trees here in terms of age, height, and style. I prefer the longer soft needle trees but they do create a bit more mess at home. Come early in the season as the supply can dwindle. A very nice part about cutting your own is how much longer they stay green and supple. From November to March! After the tree is yours, they will shake, bag, and mount it to your car. It has lasted the trip on the roof of my sports sedan with no problem all the way to downtown Chicago. Just keep it under 80 if you can! The pricing is very good when you cut your own. A fixed cost regardless of size. Be sure to check out the store inside for seasonal treats and holiday accessories while checking out.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Tire climb, gorgeous property, John Deere slide, jumpy pillow, bikes for the kids....it's so fun. Came here on a gorgeous weekday in October and had so much fun. Try the apply bar and doughnuts!

Yelp
How can you not like a Christmas tree farm? A great day is trudging out with a saw in hand looking for that perfect tree to take home - along with the memories the experience provides. Yeah, this is that kind of place. And judging by the crowds flocking in here early in the morning, everyone knows about it. So it's gonna be crowded. But hey, this is about your experience and what else were you gonna do anyway? Enjoy it! It was muddy the day we went. Really muddy to the point they wouldn't let you park near one of the fields because cars were getting stuck in there and needed to be towed. So be warned. As a result, the accessible field of trees was one that had been picked over pretty well - and it was only Thanksgiving! Can't imagine what might be left as the Christmas holiday approaches. You'd be wise to consider going early in the season if you want to cut your own tree. Unfortunately many of the trees were malformed (bare at the top or with huge twists in them) and there were so many diseased/brown trees that is was quite sad. If you are looking for a reasonably sized tree (6-8 feet), which they claim to have, you are gonna have to look far and wide. We were able to find a couple and were satisfied with our selection. The staff is super friendly and shook, wrapped, and helped tie it securely on top of the car. And they are dog friendly! The dogs would likely rate this a solid 5 star experience! Except for the bath they both got when they got home....

Yelp
Bought some inexpensive and handmade preserves and apple & cherry butters!! inexpensive for the quality you're receiving with a large farm and a cute cafe inside (:

Yelp
Super fun experience! My girlfriend and I visited on a Tuesday so it wasn't busy at all. We walked in to the main storefront, was explained where and how to do anything necessary. We drove to the lot we thought we wanted a tree from, parked and just simply walked around. We finally came across a beautiful tree and cut it down. Just like that, simple and in the spirit! Thanks Abbey Farms, we look forward to our next tree! Also, we did get a complimentary hot chocolate and donut after we bought our tree.

Yelp
Very disappointed in Abbey Farms for Christmas trees! My husband and I are very traditional and always make a trip outside Chicago to cut down a tree. When we got here, we passed a field with a bunch of small 3-4ft trees. We asked two people where the "good" trees were (meaning anything more than 6 ft) and both said they didn't know. Like seriously? Another couple heard us asking and they said they wandered over across the street where the larger trees were but had no luck and ended up getting one of the pre cut ones because they were the nicest. Basically, they cut all the good trees and don't leave any in the fields for you to cut yourself... such a bummer! Then we heard one of the workers say the snow storm is the reason they don't have more trees pre cut to choose from. Meanwhile there are piles and piles of frozen trees on top of each other, making it impossible to even get a good look at them to pick one. We ended up finding a good pre cut one (for $100) which seems overpriced to me. cute place... but don't come here if you want the traditional cut-down-your-own experience! Will be going back to Richardson farm next year!

Yelp
I think that all the staff were pretty rude very impatient and they lack respect here I had the worst time with my kids there they dont sanatize the stations when people are done using them and they don't have most of the activities open the manager and some older lady that works in the donut shop were very rude to me I even think she said something that was very inappropriate to my children windy acres or blackberry farm is way better than this joke you call a farm and they have pests in the pumkins when I got home I found tons of bugs under the pumkins I was disgusted. The manager Adam was no help he just let the lady disrespect me worst service ever!!!!! Felt very racist vibes coming from the whole management.

Yelp
Great place to spend the day! Very well organized with many activities for the family- both games for kids and beer and wine for adults. Extra kudos for being dog friendly :-)

Yelp
This is a very dog friendly farm. However, dogs are not allowed to go into the corn maze. The time we went was pretty muddy so be sure to check if it's been rainy beforehand - and bring your boots. We left with apple donuts and a pie but they have a good selection of pumpkin donuts and other food/drinks too. Can't wait for the Apple orchard that they are building!

Yelp
What's not to like about this place? It an all out playground for children 12 and under. There is a lot to do. There is a petting zoo, Pony rides are $5 per ride, zip line and some sort of slide and bike racing course too. The people who work there are very nice. I saw that they had hay rides but I wasn't sure if it was free or not but it was nice they had one. We enjoyed the time playing in the jump zone and the fun petting zoo. We also got ourselves some apple and pumpkin donuts.
