"This quiet and lovely Glen Ellen outpost from sixth-generation Gundlach Bundschu vintner Katie Bundchu pours unique blends made with hard-to-find grape varieties like Sightlight made with chenin blanc and verdejo. Book a tasting in the olive grove and add on the Grazing Board, outfitted with local cheeses, meats, housemade dried fruit, pickled veggies, nuts, and more. Or reserve the shuffleboard court and get a jam-packed picnic basket to boot. Soon, Abbot’s Passage will bring back their Field Table experience, featuring heartier food complements. The best part? AP is known to pour a complimentary digestif before you go." - Jess Lander

I came here on a rainy Friday morning at 11 and left thoroughly impressed. The staff were excellent. They accommodated my family, myself and my friend magnificently. They were patient, kind, thoughtful, and made the whole wine tasting experience exceptional. I would recommend this place 10/10 times. The staff were engaging with the history of the winery, showed us some unique aspects of the winery and sought honest feedback from us. The wine was good as we went through the tasting. Really enjoyed some of the food as well. Overall I would come back here again if given the chance.

Google
Lovely chill vibe here. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the grounds so much …not to mention the wine, that I became a member! Really looking forward to coming back when the weather is nice to enjoy the outdoor pizza oven and multiple games.

Google
Adam, Tucker, and CarrieAnn took the best care of us! We sat outside on their beautiful patio on a nice sunny day. It is dog friendly which is a huge plus. The wine was delicious and the grazing board was amazing. Can't wait to go back!

The four of us had the best time laughing and sharing stories while tasting the delicious wine at Abbot's. Our host was full of knowledge and was attentive. I purchased 2 bottles and I look forward to going back this summer.

We've been members at Gundlach Bundschu for a bit and recently discovered they had a sister winery, Abbot's Passage so this past weekend, we had a group of 6 and 3 dogs go up to see what it was all about. TLDR, its absolutely wonderful. The property itself is huge and has tons of seating, beautiful trees changing colors, outdoor corn hole if you want and even board games inside. They are very dog-friendly and even brought multiple treats and water bowls for our little guys. Martha was a great host, keeping things light, but really showing her passion. The wines were very good too with some really different ones stealing the show. The Sightline and Redshift were group favorites as was the Spirit rock. We even moved inside and grabbed a couple bottles just to enjoy there because we were having such a great time. They really have something special at Abbot's Passage and you should check it out if you have the chance!

Google
This is a beautiful winery. The tasting room is classy and well decorated. The surrounding grounds are pretty. The wine is very good. We enjoyed all of the wines that we tasted. However, the price per flight for tasting was a bit steep.

Google
Just happened across this place while driving through Sonoma. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating for families with small children. The seating area outside is surrounded by Vines, and very well kept. Would definitely come back with the group or on a date, 10 out of 10 recommend!

Google
We had a lovely tasting experience at Abbots Passage. Tony and Megan took excellent care of us. This is a great place to take a group, there’s a lovely outdoor area to explore and the Mercantile shop is stocked with local female artists goods. We are excited to become a new member and visit often.

Yelp
Obsessed!! Can't say enough good things about this winery. We reserved the shuffleboard social and felt it was reasonably priced & were able to order extra bottles to the table. So fun and different than a normal winery just doing a tasting.

Marisol N.

Yelp
Today was my first visit and it was ok. My friends and I were seated promptly. The location is beautiful. Normally there wouldn't be too much traffic but the main street is a detour during construction so that takes away a bit from the peacefulness of the location. We got a charcuterie board and some ice cream. The food took so long to get and they forgot to bring one of our desserts. The food was delicious but skip the ice cream sandwiches. It tasted icy and stale. As our tasting progressed, our service got worse. Very attentive at first and towards the end we had to look for someone to help us. Even when we told them we were in a hurry there wasn't any sense of urgency. Customer service needs a bit improvement as they were not busy yet everything took a long time. The wine... it was ok. Nothing too outstanding or exceptional about it.

Yelp
I'm not really a wine club member kind of gal but this place makes me want to reconsider that stance. Love the vibe, friendly staff, clean property with beautiful boho embellishments. We went on a special event day, sheep and goats were on site to be petted along with brunch bites. So we didn't get the full tasting experience but we did try a few of the wines. All delicious, interesting blends that they work with. I'm interested to go back since they have a Cab Franc/Malbec blend. It was a beautiful afternoon on the property with lovely grounds. I like that tasting benefits would exist between this spot and their sister property, always a plus. I'll have to get back to try a formal tasting sooner than later.

Natacha M.

Yelp
We had a great time here. We made resos for the field blend experience. It was a warm day so our outdoor reservations were changed to inside which was nice. We enjoyed the tasting very much. They have excellent wines. We also purchased their charcuterie platter which was perfect. Our server was awesome. We would of liked to explore the vineyard a bit more but it was too hot. We did leave w/some bottles. Great way to end our day.

Nikki N.

Yelp
We went here because it looks like their vibe was super chill on Instagram. We went on a Sunday and there wasn't that many people but they have a time limit on their table (90mins). So we felt a little rushed. Another reason why we went here is they said on the phone that they offer military discount. When we got there, they said they did not. I felt like there was some misunderstanding there. It seems like they're a new winery so they were not super organized and still trying to figure things out.   We got the tasting with the board. The Tasting is $50/person and additional $40 for the board. You have to pay the $25 ahead of time to reserve. The board was small and it's your typical charcuterie board. The ingredients are fresh from the vineyard as well or local. Not sure if I'll come back.

Yelp
More of a bohemian/natural theme going on at this spot; I think the kids may say "vibe". Liked the story of the vintner and the fact that its led by a woman, who's family has been in the game for quite sometime. There were a lot of interesting blends and a very crushable Chenin Blanc that was quite crisp and refreshing.

Tony T.

Yelp
Can't rave enough over the wonderful host Kerryann at Abbot's passage Gave us insights to the history of the winemaking, and the family owned business as well as very informative about all of the sensational wines that we tasted And if you look up their wines in tasting charts, you'll see them in the highest categories, 90+ Lovely outdoor seating areas

Camie K.

Yelp
As one of the wineries listed under SF Chronicle's Top 25 Wineries to Visit, I am sad to say I was quite disappointed by their wines in comparison to Auteur and Saintsbury. I think maybe if we had started our tasting there I might have had a different opinion. Maybe Rhone style wines aren't for me.... However I do agree with other Yelpers that the space is beautiful! We arrived 45 min early and since it wasn't a busy day we were seated immediately outside in the shade. We had 5 tastings and then two additional pours as a bonus. We started off with a rose that was a bit too harsh and tart. Then we had a couple blends which were underwhelming. The bonus round of pours was the Makeshift wine which we did enjoy but didn't feel it was worth $30. The last drink was an aperitif consisting of Sightline with sparkling water and orange flavoring. That was a refreshing ending! Their service was friendly. Tasting was $40/person. We did not end up purchasing any wines there. We were told that they had established the winery about a year ago. Maybe with time they will be able to craft better wines in the future, but I think the competition is tough in the area when there are many other better places to go to.

Mayya A.

Yelp
Love the place. The service was amazing. The cheese place was so delicious. Patio is so cozy

Yelp
Stopped in on a recommendation from a chef/cookbook author I follow on instagram, and so glad we did. It was also on our way between Healdsburg and Napa, so a perfect spot to stop. The winery if fairly new, and the grounds are beautiful (from what we could tell- we were there on a very rainy day). We had a 3:30 reservation for a signature tasting, were seated promptly when we arrived and began our tasting almost immediately. Our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We definitely liked their white wines better than the reds, but we enjoyed tasting everything that was offered. Our favorite (which we also took home) was the 2021 Sightline. We tried both the 2021 and 2020, and while both were good we preferred the 2021. We also paired the grazing board, which had so many interesting items (chocolate covered cherries, white bean dip, pickled veggies) in addition to cheese and crackers. Would definitely visit again when we are in the area, and potentially do one of their more in depth tastings.

Yelp
Such a wonderful place to experience Sonoma Valley Wine Country! The wine is amazing and the food is just as good. Definitely order some of their goodies to pair with their wines. Such a treat!

Amber M.

Yelp
WINE Absolutely fantastic. We are so glad we found this gem! The wine is delectable. We had the flight and had a couple of favorites. It's a good variety and we were very satisfied. SERVICE Our server was very kind and attentive! They were very knowledgeable and had a lot of interesting things to share with us about the wine we were drinking, and about the family history of the winery itself. They also brought us an extra surprise drink at the end with a small sweet treat! Everyone here was very kind! FOOD They also have food which is a HUGE plus for a winery! And the food is delectable. The boards had a lot of care put into it and it showed. Definitely get the board and the bread! There's something that everyone will enjoy. AMBIANCE The seating is paradise. The seating is very comfortable and the view is great! Vines surround you in the seating area and it's quite beautiful. We were also able to walk out and explore near the other fields too. SEATING You can make a reservation, but I believe they may have capacity for walk-ins as well, as there were some empty tables. OVERALL Can't wait to come back! The staff is kind, the food and wine are excellent, and it's a lovely estate. I could literally sit there all day with a bottle of wine and their delicious food.

Karen G.

Yelp
We visited on a quiet Thursday morning after the 4th of July, Nicole took excellent care of us, sat with us and shared with us detailed information which we enjoyed. You can tell she is passionate about her job, is knowledgeable and so welcoming! Her sweet personality and attention to our tasting added to the whole experience! The wines are Rhône style blends (including field blends) delicious wines, beautiful tasting room and outdoor patio - we choose to sit inside as it was cool out but I'd like to go back and sit on patio and try some food they offer. The story of the winery and female wine winemaker/owner was cool to learn about. Highly recommend at stop here when in Sonoma area.

Yelp
Checked out Abbot's Passage Winery And Mercantile on Thursday afternoon. While I was not all that impressed with the wine, I did admire the beautiful property and believe they may just need time to get their full catalog of wines up to par. Quality: Abbot's Passage Winery And Mercantile has a lovely space, but I just was not crazy about their wines. My Tasting Flight included Redshift 2020, Sightline 2020, Sunblink 2019, Makeshift 2018, Traverse 2018, Points Unknown 2016, and a Shrub Cocktail. The wines are all blends from grapes across the area, with the property only producing a small number of what is used. The standout from the bunch is Points Unknown 2016, their signature wine, a mix of grenache, mourvedre, and syrah. A well balanced and tasty wine, it gave me the impression that more than anything this winery needs time. The rest of the group was fairly disappointing, especially the whites. Though on a warm day, the Shrub Cocktail at the end was a nice treat. Also, skip the Seasoned Popcorn, it is not worth it. Quantity: The Tasting Flight came with six pours of wine as well as a Shrub Cocktail. Value: $40 for a Tasting Flight. $8 for the Seasoned Popcorn. Ambiance: Abbot's Passage Winery And Mercantile is a beautiful winery located in the Glen Ellen area of Sonoma. The buildings around the property are some of the oldest in the area, and add a distinct style to the winery. They have a nice outdoor tasting space, which receives some natural shade from trees near the grapes, with some added umbrellas to be safe. The indoor tasting room is large, and set up to do much more once things shift back indoors. They also have an adjacent shop and an area that appears to be arranged for full meals paired with wine. They encourage guests to walk around the property and even during the dry season, it is a lovely place to stroll. Crowd: There were four other tables of guests including one larger bachelorette early in the day. It seemed like a location that will always have a few guests, but never fill up completely. Service: They seemed a little out of sorts when I first arrived without a reservation, but the reservation system did not allow for reservations for single individuals. However, I was seated shortly and the woman who led me through my tasting could not have been kinder. Parking: Large parking lot at the front of the property.

Yelp
I love going to Sonoma and tasting wines. I don't care about the "experience"; I'm there to taste wine. Yesterday, my wife and I went to a couple of winery tasting rooms and tasted a bunch of wines and bought wines. Then we went to Abbots Passage. We arrived about 50 minutes before they closed and were told that they could not give us a tasting because it took 90 minutes to taste 5 wines. I said to the greeter that we just wanted to taste wines; we did not need the experience. She said we could buy by the glass or bottle. Or, we could taste their Rosé. Singular. A single wine. We left. This was sad. We had done many tastings at the same location when it was Madrone/Valley of the Moon. We had bought a lot of wine from them. We walked in pre-disposed to like Abbots Passage. Instead, we walked in to Disneyland. They insisted on the "experience", making it not about the wine. We were there for the wine only. A sour experience and that's not good when you are talking about a winery.

Yelp
Loved Abbot's Passage to pieces! This adorable tasting room and supply store is located just steps away from Downtown Sonoma Plaza. Stopped by for a tasting with the ladies, and we had such a fun time. Abbot's Passage is the latest project from Katie Bundschu, owner of the grand Gundlach Bundschu Winery. The wines are truly exquisite. We tasted three wines from their tasting menu including their Rosé, Rhône red blend, and their Chenin Blanc. Let me tell you, that ALL of their wines were total knockouts! The Rosé had the most refreshing floral notes. It was so light and crisp. The Chenin Blanc/Verdejo blend was like buttah! It was so smooth and delicious. A great summertime wine for sure! If you know me, you know that I'm a red wine gal until the day that I die! Their Rhône red blend just sang to my palate in sweet harmony. I don't have much experience with Rhône varietals, this was one of the most balanced red blends that I've tasted! The aromas were so wonderful. Those dark berries, that pepper, the subtle earthiness. It all melded together like a dream. The hosts were extremely informative and so gracious. I live for an intimate tasting experience, and at Abbot's, you'll get just that. The setting is so intimate and cozy. It'll make you fall in love with it instantly. Aside from tastings, Abbot's is also a hub for wine tasting supplies and trinkets. There's an upstairs room where wine making classes are conducted. They are truly a jack of all trades here! I'm so excited to have experienced the magic that is Abbot's Passage. If you're passing through town and are looking for something fun to do, stop by Abbot's and enjoy your stay!

Yelp
Always a pleaser! Located in the old Madrone/Valley of the Moon Winery, the location is exceptional. The wines, done by a Gundlach Bundschu grandaughter, are amazing. Great service, great food/small bites, and great things for members to participate in. A truly Sonoma winery.

Daniel T.

Yelp
Great Wine and Great Experience. I bought The Crossing, Sightline and Wild Dune. Glen Ellen or Valley of the Moon as Jack London called it is spectacular. Special thanks to Megan and Nicole for your knowledge and service. This is the first time I've tried Abbot's Passage wines and will be buying more soon.

Brianna N.

Yelp
We actually arrived to Abbot's Passage by mistake at their closing time. A different winery that we used to love was located here, but they moved and were quite unresponsive. However, we arrived to Abbot's Passage and they were SO accommodating. Their hospitality was amazing and they were so understanding. They brought us a pour of wine while we waited for our ride, and even asked if we needed water. We're excited to come back knowing that it's now Abbot's Passage when we can actually enjoy some time here!

Schelly Y.

Yelp
Our visit to Abbot's Passage Winery was a great way to spend an afternoon. We had a secluded seating area with a bunch of heat lamps surrounding us. (They even offered to bring more as it was a bit chilly). The antibacterial cucumber spray they provide smells so fresh and is not sticky. They offer olives and nuts to start. In addition to our tasting, we ordered the charcuterie platter and popcorn which were really good. Great service and our waiter did a great job of explaining all the wines.

Anju J.

Yelp
The space is beautiful however the wines were disappointing. I have never seen my husband throw out so much wine. Also 4 pours for $40 seems way overpriced for the quality of wine. We went here after a visit to a great winery so that may have spoiled us for the taste. I think there are other wineries with much better pricing for the tasting.

Amanda U.

Yelp
Abbots passage is an absolute gem. I went for the wine tasting and a lot of the wines had really unique flavor combinations and the service was amazing. I was able to take a walk through the vineyard and it was absolutely amazing! 10/10 would come again

Rick S.

Yelp
Love abbot's passage. Delicious blends, while not a drop in and taste kind of place, their tastings are a special and elevated experience.

Danielle C.

Yelp
We loved loved loved our time Abbot's Passage, and knew instantly we would become members. Our new favorite place! Their seating area is quiet, well-designed, and beautiful. Their wines are lovely and their staff are very knowledgeable and spend a lot of time with you. We definitely felt welcomed, and huge shoutout to Josh for making us feel like family. Their food is also extremely excellent. Best charcuterie board around with beautiful, seasonal ingredients and serving pieces. And don't forget to stop into their mercantile for more design goodness.

Richi C.

Yelp
We arrived at 4pm on a Sunday, referred by another winery in the area. The woman at the front told us they stopped service at 3:30pm. We mentioned that their website said they close at 5:30pm. The woman said they still wouldn't serve us. We asked to purchase a glass or a bottle and be quick. She took a while to "get approval" and they did serve us but had bad service and clearly did not want customers after 3:30pm. So, if you're going, make reservations or don't go past 3:30pm.

George A.

Yelp
We booked the Field Table experience via Tock, and I have to say it was amazing. We got seated in the middle of the old vineyards at a very cosy table setting. We were offered a local artisanal hand sanitizer spray, some parmesan popcorn and some nuts to start. We did a wine tasting of several wines (both white and red), accompanied by some very well crafted food, all made with local seasonal products. I am very impressed with their chef, her creativity and execution. The service was amazing and the sommelier spent a lot of time explaining the wines and the dishes. We ended up buying some wine and registering for their wine club too. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future, and we highly recommend this place to all foodies and wine aficionados.

Ryan A.

Yelp
What a cool and hip place tucked in a small alleway right off the square. I can honestly say that I have never heard of Abbot's Passage Supply until a few weeks ago, which I feel bad about now! I was lucky enough to attend one of their workshops (Bitters making class), hosted by Bitter Girl Bitters and enjoy the hospitality that Abbot's Passage supplied. The inside of the small remodeled barn was warm and cozy, which was key on a cold November day! Their wine tasting list is quite diverse with some blends and varietals that are hard to find in the valley. The tasting itself is either a three taste at $25 or four taste at $30, which is about the norm nowadays for a lot of tasting rooms. The winemaker stems from the famous Bundschu family in the town, so she definitely knows what she is doing alongside the tasty wine she produces. If I had to pick a few that had me sold per se, I would quickly choose the Chenin Blanc/Verdejo and the Moon Mountain cab. Both were quite unique, but easily won me over in the end! Alongside the tasting, Abbot's offers local handcrafted jewelry, lotions, perfume/cologne, cookware, clothing, etc. Almost everything is sourced locally giving love to the hard working mom and pop shops around the county. While it may not be the cheapest items to purchase, you are paying for quality more than anything, so I guess the old saying of you get what you pay for makes sense in this scenario. Last but not least, the staff are extremely nice and willing to answer any questions thrown their way. I'd say take a gander at one of their workshops that are coming up or drop in for a tasting to experience what treats they offers.

Mary M.

Yelp
Hidden gem!! Went here for the first time since we heard it's dog friendly. The staff were super welcoming and brought our pup water and treats. The wine tasting was generous and we were given complimentary snacks and an extra surprise tasting at the end. Overall great experience and we look forward to coming back!

stan l.

Yelp
Beautiful facility. Good wine. Nice setting. Staff way too snooty. Way too many rules to attempt to experience this environment.

Kara P.

Yelp
I was visiting from Nashville for a wedding when I experienced Abbott's Passage. There were 6 of us and from the moment we walked in the door we knew this was going to be a special experience. The wine was exceptional!! Our hostess shared the history of the winery and each wine and told us about the current vintner's vision for the future of Abbott's Passage. We were encouraged to take our time and ask questions. I'll also add the food was spectacular and complemented both the wine and ambiance. We went on to two other wineries that afternoon which felt stoic and way too formal. I highly recommend visiting this winery for an amazing personal experience and some spectacular wine.

Ira L.

Yelp
Way overpriced for tastings, no bonus pours, no comps for purchases, and some of the wines on the tasting menu are members-only for purchase. Seems to be completely geared towards people who are either members or who are joining. Otherwise for $40/tasting you are way better off buying 2 bottles and heading to a nearby picnic area. Wines were tasty but they really need to change their policies to make it a worthwhile visit for non-members.

Barry H.

Yelp
Excellent facility of recent design offering indoor or outdoor tasting and groups. Take a little walk around the ancient vines to appreciate fully. 5 Rhone varietals were well presented but not noteworthy tastes. Value: 5 ungenerous pours for $40 per person - you decide. The seasonal grazing board was lovely and ample - $35 2 tastings + grazing board, tax & tip: $132.25.

Sarah C.

Yelp
This is one of Sonoma's treasures! I love what Katie Bundschu is doing to field blend her wines, sourcing from smaller vineyards, and supporting women owned businesses in her mercantile. The wines are unique, delicious and reasonably priced. The tasting experience was excellent and the charcuterie board was worth every penny and some. We didn't hesitate to become members and look forward to returning during our next visit to the area.

Julie D.

Yelp
Showed up at 3:45 on a Sunday. They were only about half full. Young woman at the counter told us we could not get a tasting because they stop seating at 3:30. We mentioned that the website said they closed at 5:30. She said yes but no more tastings. We asked if we could just buy a glass or a bottle and she said no. Seemed odd that they would turn away paying customers. There were only two of us so we would've been quick. We're also locals, just moved here, and always looking for new wine clubs. We will definitely try again, but this kind of left a bad taste in our mouths.

Mark C.

Yelp
The bar staff demonstrates exceptional knowledge. This, in combination with professional friendliness, marks this stop as a reliably pleasant experience. The tasting barn's open and minimalist interior probably resonates with a younger, Silicon Valley crowd. The $40 tasting consists of 5 small pours of wine that, unfortunately, do not support the cost. If it's about the wine - which it should be - Abbott's is a difficult spot to recommend. Their Sightline 2020 was an excellent white that presents balanced, simple quarter notes that allow for relaxed and easy conversation. 5 Stars. The Traverse 2018 is a quaffable, blue-collar wine. 3 stars. The Makeshift 2018...ugh. Nasty, prolonged finish that reeks of dirty Saint Bernard. 1/2 star. The Points Unknown 2016 pouts as it fills the tongue, covetous that it couldn't fill the space with richer flavors. It has some subtlety, but that delicateness doesn't flutter or fly - it hints at clipped wings. It's easy to criticize, and much harder to produce. As such, I commend their efforts. They are sincere and hard-working. Some suggestions: - art with COLOR in the barn. - the winemaker needs to think about more profound fruit notes. - if you're not proud of it, or the market says, "Nope," then re-label, sell wholesale, and don't pour. I'm glad that the owner, from the antiqued Gundlach-Bundschu dynasty, has been fearless in breaking from tradition and sourcing grapes from other regions. Her youth and courage may mark her as a fierce up-and-comer IF she's not afraid of being her own worst critic. I sincerely wish her luck.

Lorrie A.

Yelp
We did the field table experience and they hooked me, now a wine club member! Food was delicious, staff was personable and friendly, excellent time all around.

Austin G.

Yelp
Wine was pretty good but you can get much better value at other vineyards in Sonoma. If you're in a group of 6 you're better off buying every single bottle instead of doing the tasting. You'll get more wine and pay less.

Camelia N.

Yelp
Having been part of human history for more than 6,000 years, there aren't many ways left to make wine that haven't already been tried, but there are still new ways to sell it. That's what Abbot's Passage has managed to do in its brief existence: to reinvent the wine lover's experience. How? By pairing interesting and adventurous wines with a quaint and charming retail space and by showcasing the wine by featuring it in educational and entertaining workshops that teach locavore-themed survival skills. I recently attended an oyster shucking workshop with a +1 who was eager to add this valuable life skill to his foodie toolkit. The event was so much fun! When we arrived, the staff offered us glasses of a newly released 2017 Sonoma Valley rosé ("Redshift") made from Grenache and a healthy portion of Mourvèdre, giving in a lovely Bandol-like coloration and flavor profile. As the other workshop attendees began to arrive, we relocated to an outdoor patio area, where a shucking station had been set up carefully ahead of time. The real work was about to begin! The oysters were from Tomales Bay and from Washington and the teacher was from Oyster Girls in Petaluma, who brought gloves, knives, and some delicious toppings. She expertly guided about 15 guests through the shucking process, while we enjoyed glasses of 2017 white wine ("Sightline") made from Chenin Blanc and Verdejo, aromatic and flavorful grapes from the excellent Heringer Estates Vineyard in the Sacramento Delta near Clarksburg and cofermented in stainless steel tanks to help the varietals meld prior to bottling. The wine was made with moderate alcohol and had food friendly acidity that paired well with our freshly shucked booty, while also being totally unique in taste, aroma, and texture. Talk about adventurous! Ever tried sipping wine while wearing oyster gloves and with the taste of fresh miyagi oyster in your mouth that you just learned to open all by yourself? It's very empowering. Once we'd had our fill of oysters and wine, we browsed the shop, which is a historic red barn located just off Sonoma Square, in the Vine Alley section of the Sonoma Court shopping center. I found a Minor History Half Moon clutch perfect for holding an iPhone, cash, and credit cards, while my companion enjoyed an earthy, spicy Rhône styled 2014 GSM blend ("Points Unknown") sourced from Steel Plow Vineyard, an organically farmed site in Sonoma Valley near Sugarloaf Mountain, while browsing through a copy of Obi Kaufmann's beautifully illustrated and immersive California Field Atlas (2017). All in all, a wonderful way to spend part of our Saturday in wine country! Recommended for your next trip. Check out their events page for future workshops of interest!

Yelp
Visited Abbot's Passage with my fiancé for a tasting and had Josh as our wine expert. He did a great job of describing the wines that we were sampling and overall he was a fantastic representative of the winery. We ended up purchasing a nice bottle and will definitely be returning for another tasting soon. Again Josh was amazing!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I happened upon this great tasting room at the end of wine alley in downtown Sonoma. Katherine was informative with the different wines and the subtle nuances between them. The wines ... are amazing! But that word does not do it just justice - especially when you hear the story of Abbot - the passage to his favorite watering hole from Napa to Sonoma - knowledge of how the grapes are chosen - the wine names and how they connect to Abbot's story - each sip connects you to the this place, the land, the sun, the wind, the earth and to Abbot's Passage! Come visit this place and immerse yourself in the spirit of a man's journey and a woman named Katie Bundschu and her wine!

Yelp
A super chill, out of the way wine tasting room, off the Sonoma Square. It's kind of an adventure getting to Abbot's Passage but it's worth the extra effort. Wines are really, really good and they're not the normal Chardonnay, Cabernet, Pinot Noir stuff -- this place is for wine lovers. Think pretty unknown grapes like Chenin Blanc and Petit Verdot. But one of the really cool things about Abbot's Passage is the shopping -- they sell items from San Francisco hat and clothing makers, so it's kind of like home away from home. You should check it out.

Yelp
Came by thinking it was the old winery and it's new and now called Abbots. So nice, good wine , beautiful setting. Ask for Josh what a nice guy and so helpful.

Yelp
What an outstanding shop! Had a tasting here with Nicole after visiting Gundlach Bundschu. Nicole walked us through a variety of wines in a way that was friendly, fun and accessible. 100% recommend that anyone reading this review gives Abbot's Passage a try, especially if you're not as experienced with wine as some other Sonoma visitors may be. The wines are fantastic. Grab a bottle of the white and rose. A+. The other items for sale in the shop are great too. Picked up an amethyst necklace as a Valentine's day gift and didn't break the bank. All-in-all, the experience was a real treat. Highly recommend!!
