How This Attorney Built His Legal Practice With Restaurant Placemats | Eater LA

"A Hong Kong-style diner in Monterey Park that was an early adopter of the lawyer’s placemat advertising; its high-traffic, all-day service made it a strategic spot in the campaign’s initial growth and visibility within the local Chinese dining community." - Cathy Chaplin

Food: delicious beef stew with wonton noodles soup. Seafood chow mein was crispy and flavorful. Majority of Cantonese dishes here are good 👍🏻 Service: friendly and courteous staff. Attentive to my party needs as well. Atmosphere: ABC Cafe is undergoing a renovation inside and outside so it is becoming modernized and brighter.

Haven’t come here for 7 years. We used to come here every week during my wife pregnancy. She love the sole fish fillet. She said it tastes the same as before

There is a $78 lobster offering that is roughly 3 lbs lobster served with E-fu noodles below. $3 more gets you some veggies.

Review is based on 1dishes only!!!! I have been a fan of pickle vegetables with shredded pork noodle soup since I was a young boy in Chinatown in Los Angeles.. Sonia’s very excited when I saw on Instagram video promoting this on afternoon tea yesterday.. I was so excited going there today and I was so disappointed! 1) the noodle has aquiline taste.. perhaps it was but rinsed well after cooking. It left a nasty taste 2) there was no pickle vegetables.. it was some something else 3) white onion?? 4) soup taste funny… I don’t like to say bad things and I normally don’t like to post them but this was a horrible meal.. wasted my time..

One of my favorite HK Cafes! The dishes here are very cheap and delicious, especially the $8.99 hainan chicken rice. I also love the singapore stir fried noodies and the fried chicken. The drinks are also very good too. They use real condensed milk in the milk tea and their lemon tea is sweet and refreshing.

The name has been around for decades, and once a popular place for a late-night meal or hangout. The food could have been better and has been better in past years. Considering value, much of the menu here has been refocused to mimic Cantonese/Hong Kong cafes. Unfortunately, there are some misses and highlights inconsistent for a return. Their noodle and stir-fry dishes are good. They are not the salt bombs that could be, and beef dishes are well constructed. Some Fried Rice dishes are above average, but a specialty attempt with Dried Scallops proved to be thin and lacking any real flavor. Curry dishes are really skimpy with the proteins. The most notable failure is the Steamed Rice Sheets with Shrimp. I have never had such a horrible rendition of this favorite Cantonese delicacy. I just couldn't imagine any of the other versions to be any better. What they do well here are the popular dry or wet noodle dishes. There are many misses and not worth exploring in my opinion. The service is excellent, and the drinks are strong, done with some care. This may have been the only savour to otherwise a questionable decision.

(Squid balls not included!) The fish was amazing! I think our total was around $27 for two meals and a milk tea and coffee. ***You can ask them for ketchup***

Yelp
good is really good and portions are really big. Definitely sets the standards for hong kong style cafes moving forward.

Yelp
I recently visited ABC Cafe Restaurant in Monterey Park, and it quickly became one of my favorite HK-style cafés in the area. Food: Every dish we tried was well-executed and memorable. The Pineapple Bun had the lightly sweet, classic HK-style texture done just right. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was the standout of the meal--perfectly crispy, creamy, and full of flavor. The Seafood Udon was warm, savory, and generously filled with seafood. The ABC Fried Rice was a reliable but straightforward classic that paired well with everything else. The Grilled Chicken Steak came with a rich, savory gravy that brought the whole dish together. Ambiance: The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an excellent place for groups of friends or anyone looking to enjoy a comfortable meal. There's plenty of space, and the environment encourages good conversation and a laid-back dining experience. Customer Service: The service was top-tier. The staff checked in frequently to ensure that we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed, and their attentiveness really elevated the experience. Overall: ABC Cafe Restaurant delivers excellent food, friendly service, and a comfortable ambiance. It's a spot I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the Monterey Park area, and I'm looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Came here for the tea time special. Haven't been here since before their remodel. They have a good amount of specials and the iced Thai tea and red bean drink which is nice. Hainam chicken- pretty good, the rice didn't have a strong flavor and a small side of the ginger sauce. We ordered another one and they charged us $1, not worth it Teriyaki chicken sandwich- ok special with fries Chicken wings- crispy but not much jalapeños or garlic on the side Green beans- standard

Yelp
Update review: 5 years ago Heard an advertisement on Cantonese radio station 1430AM here in LA a couple of days ago so thought I'd come by to give it a try. The ad said this old school original spot is under new management now. Food quality and taste is still the same as before. The ambiance and decor has been updated to new tables, chairs, flooring and wall art. Same looking and tasting ABC just new ownership and higher prices due to inflation.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Chinese American comfort food. This spot has been here for decades, and it's still a delicious meal. The wings were crispy and had deep soy savory flavor. Sizzling beef udon had tender beef and perfectly chewy noodles. The beef scrambled eggs rice was silky and tasty. The servers were friendlier than the typical Chinese restaurant server.

Yelp
First time coming here with a friend, very excited to try some new dishes of Hong Kong style. The parking wasn't too bad since it's located in a plaza, but you just have to keep an eye on turning into the right street. We enter the door and we are immediately greeted, which was very nice and friendly. We were a little bit shocked for how many items on the menu, if I was not wrong, there are 246 items. We were given enough time to order. The business was quite busy that day, so it was a little bit noisy but overall it's pretty normal for an Asian restaurant. Every dish was so freshly made and delicious, the seafood crispy noodle was the highlight. My favorite one is still the chicken wings, they are super crispy and crunchy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. I will definitely bring more friends and family to hear so that they can enjoy what I enjoyed.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here so many times growing up, (definitely over a dozen) and it's still as good as I remembered. I was surprised but service was actually pretty good for an Asian restaurant. We came in with a group of four and there were still plenty of seats available around dinner time. A standout that I liked was that it wasn't that crowded and the food came FAST (probably under 10-15 minutes for everything). I shared these items. Green Onion Pancake - It was decent, nothing that special tbh, probably lower tiered for this here. (3.5/5) Stir Fry Noodle Beef Noodle - Came in this cool looking sizzling plate. Its a stable and it taste like it should. Enjoyable to share. (4.5/5) Chicken/Steak/Pork Plate - A stable and for $24!? This is value and taste is pretty good. Make sure to ask for medium rare because they will end up cooking it more like medium. Pepper sauce was peppery. (4/5) Creamy Fish on Fried Rice - I forgot what this was called but it's in the baked section. It's good nothing too crazy but I love creamy things so it was tasty. (4/5) Walnut Shrimp - Saw the advertisement so gave this a try. It's about on par with any other walnut shrimp at a Chinese spot. Pretty good. (4/5) Overall the food isn't like top tier but also the prices are very fair. Factoring in the cost per taste I really enjoyed this spot plus there was plenty of room to hangout with a group. Solid service and good food! Parking - They have a shared lot but it kind of gets filled at busy hours, though never had an issue finding parking.

Yelp
Came here bc I saw it mentioned on the SGV podcast Food was good Service was very very slow considering only 3 tables had people. Ambiance is very casual Dishes do not come with rice Not likely to return

Yelp
I always past by this cafe on all the time. My sister and I decided to try it for breakfast with our mother. We arrived on a Saturday morning and waitress said to sit anywhere. Inside interior is roomy with lots of regulars eating there. The waitress was only one doing everything-taking orders, delivering food to tables, cleaning the tables. Then the 2nd employee arrived to help. For refills of lemon tea, we went to bar soon as we see someone there. My mother's food was The preserved egg jook was thick and tastes good with beef cheung fun twisted version and milk tea was $11.99 which is a good deal. I ordered French toast w/scramble egg and ice lemon tea was yummy for $11.99 and extra $1 added to ice lemon tea. My sister got chicken steak, eggs, toast w/lemon tea extra $1 on cold lemon tea with $13.99. Every thing tastes so good and affordable. Given with slow service. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
GREAT LATE NIGHT SPOT FOR CHINESE! I saw the $10 meals on instagram so I had to check this place out. The Hainan chicken, fried pork chops, and noodle soup were all delicious. I would order all these dishes again. I'm so happy to have found this Chinese restaurant that opens late with cheap prices!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
I don't understand the low rating for this spot. Very mom and pop without all the "hip" gimmicky things, and I prefer that for my Chinese restaurants. All the food I tried tasted like the classic dishes and I have no complaints. FOOD Baked pork chop w rice- I cannot believe how big this thing is for $10. It can definitely feed 2-3 people Fried smelt- even when cold it was crispy, so you know it's good Wonton noodle soup- the wonton each had a whole shrimp Braised Japanese tofu w mushroom- rice stealer. So fluffy and so good. There's Napa cabbage in it too Lemon tea- free refills! SERVICE they speak both Chinese (mandarin and canto) and English. My lemon tea was refilled without me asked. Food came out quick AMBIANCE looks exactly how Chinese restaurants looked like in the 90s. But you know that means the kitchen's legit. Clean, no complaints overall

Yelp
I haven't been to ABC for a while. Today I tried its breakfast and it was really good. I chose the combo. Congee with rice roll, and both of them taste delicious. The congee was tatsty and the rice roll has a good amount of meat. The service is attentive, and I will come again.

Yelp
I visited ABC Cafe on a Friday afternoon, and thankfully, it wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly and got our menus right away. Based on reviews and my visit, it seems like the best time to come here is when they aren't packed. What we ordered: Wonton Noodle Soup (5/5): Easily one of the best places for wonton noodle soup! The wontons were large, generously portioned, and packed with flavor. Highly recommend. Dry Style Beef Chow Fun (4/5): Pretty standard, nothing particularly special, but it wasn't bad either. Black Pepper Beef Chow Mein (4/5): Similar to the chow fun, it was a solid dish but didn't stand out. Overall, I had a good experience. The food was tasty, the prices for lunch were very reasonable, and service was efficient. There were a few annoying flies around which we spent a lot of time trying to get away. Other than that, it's a solid spot, especially for their wonton noodle soup.

Yelp
This place is a complete joke. I first tried ordering from ABC Cafe back in February when they were new on UberEATS. After waiting 10 minutes, my order got canceled. I figured maybe they were new and still trying to figure things out, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Now it's August, and I gave them another chance--big mistake. Same exact thing happened. I waited, and after 10 minutes, canceled again. Seriously? That's six months later and nothing has improved. If you don't actually want to take orders on UberEATS, then get off the app. Stop wasting people's time. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable

Yelp
What's up: This place has been here forever. It's amazing to know that they're still alive and kicking. My aunt wanted to come try their Wonton Noodle Soup, so here we are! Parking: Located in the Garfield Lincoln Center, parking is shared among the nearby businesses. Depending on when you go, it can get busy. Environment: Walking in, the place looks decent. A portion of the restaurant looks closed but the other side is nicely lit. It's pretty quiet and staff members are not very attentive, so it might take a bit to flag someone down. The exterior environment of the restaurant feels a bit iffy since the business next door closed down; spotted a couple people sleeping in front of it. What was ordered: - Wonton Noodle Soup (pretty good) - Shrimp Cutlet with Chicken (ok) Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. Come for the Wonton Noodle, not for the ambiance. It's decent enough and for the price, it was really good. Service was not great. Credit cards are accepted with a minimum of $20 purchase.

Yelp
This place is so good! Came her by chance because a nearby restaurant closed down. Had bittermelon and pork chow fun, mushroom and egg tofu, beef with rice rolls, and porkchops. Excellent prices and portions. Great service. Clean. Please stay open forever! There was a Karen that left (and made her husband leave too) because they didn't take her order fast enough. Otherwise the other customers were normal and polite.

Yelp
Came here based on an IG reviewer I follow. This place has been around since forever and probably one of the first Hong Kong style cafes in the SGV. First, parking is not the easiest in the shopping center. The interior looks better than the exterior with tiled floors and a mix of booths and tables. It does get crowded at lunch time. Service was just okay. We tried their $8.99 special of wonton noodles, hainan chicken, filet of sole cutlet (they have others as well). The wonton was good. Hainan chicken was flavorful with good portions. The filet of sole was huge and crispy. Overall, a good value and a quick meal. Compared to the other cafes in the area, ABC is probably going to be one of my go to's.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Currently their lot is having construction so little less parking but several businesses are closed also. Haven't come here in over ten years and doesn't seem like it's changed. Pretty decent Chinese food at solid prices. Normal Hong Kong Chinese restaurant feel. They got the plastic chopsticks, paper commercial mats, and several pages of food. The chicken was surprisingly juicy and chow mein was pretty good. Both dinner prices were about $14 and those two dishes were enough for three people. Sometimes it was hard to get a waiter but they were quick to get what we needed. Chilli oil was good and also they had a garlic sauce that was pretty tasty. Nothing mind blowing but solid overall.
google avatar

Ann Q.

Yelp
You don't come for gourmet. You come for nostalgic decent food for a great price! After the change in ownership, food just hits now! We always come for: 1. Ribeye plate with black pepper sauce and pasta (med rare) 2. Sole filet with pasta 3. Wonton Mein 4. Club sandwich 5. Lemon iced tea These are the tried and true affordable dishes to get. I still dislike the heavy cigarette smoke smells but that's what comes with any Chinese cafe. Love that they open late night!
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
One of the few hong kong style cafes left that isnt hipster'd out with crazy prices. Ordered Orange chicken, hot and sour soup, and usually order their honey walnut shrimp. For the price, the food is really good. Hot and sour soup isnt too spicy and you can actually enjoy the flavors. Orange chicken is really good here compared to a lot of the different Chinese restaurants Ive tried. Portions are great. Parking is just a giant lot. Can be hectic enter or exit depending on the time of day and traffic flow. Restaurant is loud and rowdy. You can hear the servers call each other vulgar nicknames, which is hilarious when you understand Cantonese. Just enjoy the food and dont worry too much about ambiance.

Adam L.

Yelp
Chicken and pork chop plate for $13.99. Reasonable and delicious. It comes with sauce, and either rice or spaghetti. Fast service and good AC. Parking - a lot in a plaza but there's construction
google avatar

April A.

Yelp
Good place for Chinese food staples - overall a 3.5/5 for me. This restaurant is located in a strip mall with a parking lot that looks kinda sketch, but my car stayed safe for the 3 hours I was there. The vibe of the restaurant is like a traditional Chinese American restaurant. The food was good and the portions were sharable. The noodles, eggplant, and grilled pork chop and chicken steak were my favorites. The cream corn chicken soup was a little watered down, but still tasty. The honey walnut shrimp was decent, though it had a lot of mayo. However, the Hainan chicken wasn't cooked all the way through and was bloody, and the fish on the fish filet w/seasonal vegetable tasted a little slimy. The staff was friendly and attentive. This is no fault of theirs, but there were a few patrons who sounded sick - blowing their noses loudly & coughing forcefully throughout our meal. It was very unpleasant to hear while eating. At the end of the meal, the smell of cigarette smoke was really strong and people were smoking right outside the open doors. Overall, I'd come back for takeout & order the black pepper chow mein again.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Have been coming here for over ten years - quality of the food is always the same - huge portions and tastes good. Service is fast! Parking lot is big but can get crowded. Definitely good for late night as they close at 1 am!

Yelp
After my nephew's high school graduation, my brother invited us to a late night dinner at ABC Cafe. Thank you Bro! OMG, I haven't been back here since I was a young child. I don't remember much about it, but I do remember its location. It still has the good space that it did back then. There is good parking, but plaza can get very busy during the day on the weekends... so come here early if you can. Staff was surprisingly pleasant and very attentive. There were 11 of us. They kept on coming back to fill our water cups. Btw, water was very cold and refreshing... so darn good! Thank you so much! Their menu is massive and has many selections... lots of meat, seafood, rice, noodles, and other specialty dishes. Prices are very reasonable. Portions are huge. Each of us ordered our own entree. We also added 2 orders of fried chicken wings and 2 orders of salt and pepper squid... oh, these are very delicious... they are a must get! Funny, six of us ordered steak and I wasn't one of them LOL. Instead I got the Seafood Udon with XO Sauce... it was quite tasty with lots of udon and XO sauce... I just wished there were more seafood. Nevertheless, I still finished the entire sizzling plate on the spot LOL. Was I that hungry or was it just that good? Maybe a little bit of both... don't know! I found out that this place is one of the very few restaurants that open late into early morning like until 1:00 AM. Cool pickings! Of course, I'm normally not out in the San Gabriel Valley area that late or actually that early LOL. Now you know in case you want a late night snack in SGV. Highly recommend this place for great taste and service!

Yelp
There are two purposes to this review update. First, is to inform customers that ABC seems to have fixed their phone issue so that you can now call in takeout orders again. Second, is to warn customers that despite their service not improving and increased prices due to inflation, for unknown reasons (the new menu items in addition to old favorites??) business has greatly picked up even beyond pre-pandemic and even compared to levels from a decade ago. Further, and despite increased immigration from the mainland, often the increased business primarily seems to be traditional Cantonese people. Regardless lunch and diner may be very crowded and you should plan to wait for your food and possibly a table unless coming during off hours. Holidays are particularly crowded now. Their HK style dishes and breakfast are still good. The neighborhood is still in decline with many homeless. The lot is still big, rundown (watch for potholes), and crowded (hard to get parking often). Their recently expanded menu has some good items and some that look good but are not that great. Overall, service is still awful most of the time unless u r a regular and get served by waitstaff who know u. We still love coming here for the dishes we like curry chicken, Singapore noodle, HK style chicken, beef, and pork "steaks" with garlic or black pepper sauce, baked sole, green beans, breakfast, and others. Despite, some of these issues still a great casual hike in the wall place to eat with family and friends, but not for a formal or business meal.

Yelp
ABC cafe always hits the spot for Chinese cafe! Get the spicy salt chicken wings for an appetizer with some lemon iced tea to start. Follow up with some bolognese, baked pork chop rice, or a rib eye steak!
google avatar

Deon B.

Yelp
To be quite honest, the restaurant would have gotten a solid 4/5 stars. The setting was fine, and the inside was clean. I ordered Chinese donuts, Sole Fillet lunch special, and lemon iced tea (up to 3 free refills). The price for the Sole Fillet lunch special was $9.99 and the portion size was amazing for its price point! The fish was crispy with great breading. Surprisingly enough, the inside of the fish wasn't dry. HOWEVER, the reason that this restaurant got 3 stars was because of how long it took to get my food. It took them a little over 45 minutes to get my party's food out. I noticed that other parties also started to complain about why it was taking so long to get their food. I'm not exactly sure why it took that long for people to get their food, but, had they gotten the food out a little faster, it would have been an easy 4/5 stars for the restaurant.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
The restaurant is located inside a plaza. There was plenty of parking. Easy access. We tried HK milk tea, wonton noodle soup, ribeye, and stir fry pea shoots. I feel like you can never really go wrong with food at HK cafe. Everything was tasty. Staff was friendly. Wait time for service wasn't too bad. A nice comfort food spot!

C T.

Yelp
Usually pretty consistent decent hong kong style cafe food over the years where many others have fallen off. (Looking at you jj)

Yelp
Friendly staff and good food. We had late night dinner here and ate the Beef & Egg .Chowfun which was tasty to the pallete and the Minced Beef & Egg Soup that was also good and it matched up together with the Chowfun noodles we ate. And these dishes were not so heavy on msg and it still tasted so good to eat. Also we are satisfied for our late night dinner choice! Thank you ABC Cafe!

Peter L.

Yelp
Close at 1 am Minced beef and yak on rice yummy 4 my tummy. Do not eat too much of there baking soda free soup starch of the day.

Yelp
This is my go to place for HK cafe food. I love their chicken and pork steak combo with spaghetti. Food tastes good and is of good value. I also like their wonton noodle soup. Their service and speed is similar to other HK style restaurants.
google avatar

Kenny Z.

Yelp
If you're looking for legit Hong Kong-style comfort food or authentic Chinese food, this spot in Monterey Park is an absolute must-visit. I ordered the baked pork chop rice and a lemon tea, and both were spot-on. The pork was crispy on the edges, juicy inside, and smothered in a rich, tangy tomato sauce that reminded me of the cafes back in HK. Service was quick and efficient, and the prices are super reasonable for the portion sizes. The menu has a huge variety--everything from instant noodles with spam and egg to rib eye steak!
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
ABC Cafe is your typical Cantonese restaurant with rice, noodles and fusion dishes. My favorite dish has to be the pork chop with Peking sauce! So good, I love the sweet, savory, saucy taste to the dish. The beef chow fun was good too, I would order it again. The food was super affordable and during their afternoon tea hours, they have even more affordable prices on limited items. To be honest, I can't say ABC Cafe is my favorite Cantonese/HK restaurant but I think it's a decent spot and it's been part of the 626 community for so long that it's a nostalgic place
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
I have been coming to ABC cafe occasionally for years. I especially like their takeout deals during COVID. They have changed their ownership since then. The new menu is a little different with rice rolls added. It is a popular thing in other Hong Kong style cafes. So it's probably a good addition. The reason I want to write their review is because of their new afternoon menu. The afternoon menu has four food items to choose from: 1. Sze chuan fish fillet 2. Teriyaki chicken sandwich 3. Shredded pork and preserved vegetable noodle soup 4. Spicy salt chicken wings and it includes drink. The choices are: milk tea/coffee/Thai tea/red bean fountain(no refill). I chose the shredded pork and preserved vegetable soup and the red bean fountain. It was very local Hong Kong style food and it's great! It's only $8.99! What a value! I would definitely come back again for this! My friend ordered the chicken cutlet with curry sauce and an iced lemon tea. Portions are big and enough for two people. The cutlet was crunchy and tasty! Overall, everybody was satisfied.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Weekend parking is no good. Weekday is better. I usually get the pork and preserved egg porridge and beef steam flour roll (porridge combo). Service is good and fast. Place is nice and simple.
google avatar

Siao Z.

Yelp
Chicken is good! Love it! Deal is cheap too! We came for breakfast and total for two with 15% tips is around $28! Worth the price. This includes a drink as well (extra $1.50 each person). Service is just okay! Most of them are super nice, one of them has an attitude if a typical asian server you see in hong kong (authentic service) haha!
google avatar

Claribel V.

Yelp
I like their XO seafood fried rice and rib eye steak. The fried rice is really flavorful and really good if you sprinkle with white pepper. The rib eye isn't high quality but still good especially for the price. I like that this place is open til 1am. It's my go to spot for a late night dinner. Prices are reasonable. Service is mediocre.

Junaidi A.

Yelp
The food is excellent . It suitable for my tongue. I really like the chicken wing with spicy salt. I used to order squid spicy salty and it was really good. My friend tried the beef steak, and he said it was good and cheap 17$ . We have tried the mapotofu, it's soft and delicious . I have been in this restaurant for long time ago and they still have good commitment in their food. The price is affordable as well. The place is very big for parties. Service is friendly. Definitely will come back again!! You guys need to try Indonesia fried rice and chicken wing!! :)

Yelp
Great service and food. Food is delicious, price is low and quantity is a lot. You can enjoy the original Hong Kong food here.

Yelp
I made a 3 star review about this place over a decade ago which I needed to remove. ABC is equivalent (maybe above according to my wife) to EAT, which both deserve 5 stars for prices and nostalgia. Many other HK cafe spots have inflated prices rebranding as the next new hip thing. You absolutely cannot go wrong with specifically two items here, one is the sole filet plate for $8.99 and the other is the pork chop + chicken steak plate (get the mushroom sauce) for $11.99. Add a lemon tea and you'll be pretty happy for a day. I'll probably still be eating here when i'm 50. Ignore the lower star reviews, they're asking for fine dining with a $10-20 budget. ABC is nostalgic HK cafe food, it's absurd that so many people are expecting a fine dining experience. ABC and EAT are the only two restaurants that I drive an hour for.

Barry T.

Yelp
Food quality is really bad. The service is bad. Waiter never care about you and never refill tea or water for you. One time. They charge me 2 dollars for water when I ask for a piece of lemon. The environment is dirty with rats. Portions are small. The pork is not fresh and the noodles are very poor quality noodle. Overall, it is over priced and there are no parking. All the parking are occupied by the employees. They like to put cones as if they own the public parking lot. It is very rude for them to put cones to reserve spaces and disregard the laws. Overall, food and services are bad. Try any other cafes are better
google avatar

Yelp
The food is great, our favorites are the won ton soup and Singapore style vermicelli. It's nice they're open till 1 am. The issue is they've forgotten orders twice the last few times we've gone. Typical aloof nonexistent service. Call for anything you need, you won't get it otherwise.

Horrible service. I had to flag down the wait staff to just get my order taken. Water taste like toilet water, porridge was average but worst was getting someone to get my bill. I had to stand up and flag them down. I wouldn't come back again.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for a while now, and while the service could definitely use some improvement (pretty typical for an Asian spot), the food keeps me coming back. The freshly fried fish for $8 is an absolute steal and always delicious. The Haniana chicken is also really good...it's not the most authentic, but it definitely hits the spot. Weekend mornings are always packed because of their cheap breakfast options. The portions are pretty good. It's bigger than JJ's, though JJ might have a slight edge in flavor. That said, this place is usually a lot less busy so definitely worth a try. Great food, great prices, and a lot of variety!

Yelp
They open at 7AM so I have Been here on a weekly basis to get their breakfast before heading to work. I usually get their porridge combo with Beef noodle rolls & Hong Kong milk tea. The porridge is flavorful & their noodle rolls are smooth. I always call about 15 minutes before heading there & my food would be ready by the time I get there. Their staff are patient & helpful! A big shout out to their waitress Cindy!

Yelp
ABC cafe has been around for years! Believe they might have changed management again so there's a few new items on the menu with lunch specials and afternoon tea specials Came on a Thursday during lunch and had to wait about 10 mins for a table. Parking: located in a plaza We got a few items off their $8.99 lunch special that comes with choice of tea/milk tea/coffee for an additional $1.50 Hainan chicken: tender meat with the Hainan chicken rice Fish cutlet: for $8.99, it was a big portioned fillet. Very thin and crispy! Wonton noodle soup: mediocre as soup is just regular soup but the wonton was tasty If it gets busy, sometimes customer service can be slow but staff was really nice once the crowd died down
