Yelp
Only given 3 reviews on Yelp. 2 complimentary. And one not complimentary for Abell's Auctioneers Ironically latter was previously removed due to pressure from Abell's to remove asserting I did not have personal experience with them. Could not be further from the truth as I own half the house they entered & they created a disgusting , destructive and violent scene in a home that belonged to my parents for 65 years.
If an auction house comes in to a home that is HALF OWNED BY ANOTHER HEIR, AND DOES THE DESTRUCTION AND "TOSSING" OF THE HOME THEY DID, I CERTAINLY HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. And given Abell's was most likely not notified that the remaining contents belonged to me, Yep, I definitely have personal experience w/ Abell's to satisfy the Yelp
If Abell's is going to enter into a home to do estate haul, they should know who who exactly owns the home In my case, what I detailed here, if not removed by Yelp, there are no less than 7 attorneys & the courts that can attest to my ownership of the home that Abell's entered, wreak havoc & destruction - my parents' home that I legally own half
The condition of the home that remained, & the remaining items all belonged to me. So again, I do have personal experience w/ Abell's to have this review not removed as I do have personal experience & first hand " experience . I think crawling on my hands and knees to sift thru the piles of emptied drawers they left and contents scattered throughout the entire house in rooms the contents did not come from , yes, entitles me to write this review.
Abell's bread & butter is estate sales. But exactly who owns the home is definitely unchartered waters for Abell's because thinking that whoever hires them gives them the right to toss a home that half belonged to me is abhorrent as well as gives me every right to claim personal experience w/ Abell's Would you want whoever you co owned a family home with , to hire someone who intentionally ransacked the home. ? And then have Abell's claim you did not have personal experience. Is that a joke?
The piles of trash they left mixed in with family heirlooms they had no care for has been incredulous. My Grandparents wedding band from 1919 was tossed into a pile of pennies. Photographs strewn everywhere. Given we had our own Estate consultant / expert he was aware to not leave one penny unturned. Everything was sifted thru meticulously. And ironically, Abell's missed collectibles that they could have auctioned but had no idea what they were looking at.
Successor Trustees / Fiduciaries/ Heirs find Abell's as a quick fix to clear a house without lifting a finger . But the cost to not lifting a finger is great - not only is yur family home trashed but our consultants believe from their vast experience, most do not receive a check that after their items auctioned off to jump for joy for.
Anyone that has an estate to dispose of whether large or small , whether of great value or not , whether in a neighborhood mid Wilshire / Miracle Mile as ours or any neighborhood, do not think Abell's is the place yur family or loved ones estate, contents of family home will be treated with respect and dignity.
Anything but.
Granted cleaning out a family home is a messy job & order can quickly dissipate when there is pressure to complete BUT to intentionally take no care in disposing of a home when a well established auction house was called in to do a routine clean out & this is their job & takes ZERO care of the contents that are remaining & only leaves the house in a condition that repulses one is unconscionable.
It was the most disgusting , violating , distasteful , horrific displaying of a work ethic. Stomach turning! . To close a chapter of yur family by hiring Abell's to auction off yur families content of a home that was well maintained and always treated with decency and filled with 65 years of memories , is a horrid mistake .
After Abell's left the "job" that other heir hired them for, home was no longer a home but a smash and grab scene! Entire house ransacked.
It's inconceivable to think what they took for "no reserve lot sales" could not include items broken due to manner in which contents were just tossed every which way! A dinning room table cloth was lifted like a knap sack with a huge Chinese platter on the table & candle sticks & just tossed in bundle on floor. Items that were broken that had tops / lids, were thrown with such force that tops were off. Even the blue latex gloves Abell 's crew used were discarded thruout the home Huge green house in back yard turned upside down - more work to do than sliding over Crowning glory - toilets not flushed
Whether yu cared for yur loved ones or not , had good relationships w/ ur loved ones or not, Abell's is not the place to trust w/ yur estate as there isn't a shred of respect your family's legacy
Pay heed to others who have sold thru Abell's ...
