Abe's Gifts DC

I had a really nice experience at Abe’s Gift during our visit to DC. The store had a calm and welcoming vibe, and all the staff members were super friendly and polite. What stood out the most was that they gave a free gift to everyone, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. I was especially interested in Trump merchandise, and I was impressed by both the variety and the pricing. The items were much more affordable compared to other gift shops we visited in DC. I was particularly happy to find that the inauguration items were being sold at half (50%) their original price, such a great deal. Overall, I was very happy with the service and would recommend this place to anyone visiting DC.

Abes souvenir shop was so wonderful store you find everything you like as a gift, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, the pricing was so low, and the quality of the things is good.

I’m visiting from Texas, and stumbled upon this underground souvenir shop, it was super clean compared to other souvenir shops, very affordable prices, lots of variety, staff was very friendly and attentive, would definitely bring my friends next time.

Located in a souvenir shop, Abe's is a little Vietnamese cafe downtown. The hours are different from the shop so double-check before you go. I ordered a Tofu Bahn Mi and it was really good! I love that you can choose a sauce at the end. I picked peanut and it was fabulous! There are a number of seating options and due to it's semi hidden nature, it was pretty quiet when I went during lunch. You can use Ritual to order ahead. The sandwich was about $10.

This place is a wonderful mix of Americana, gift shop, and delicious Vietnamese food. The food is very good on its own but the sauces over by the soda fountains are also wonderful if you're looking for complimentary flavors. This place is certainly worth a visit!

It's located in the basement. Much bigger inside than it looks from outside. Price is more reasonable than any other gift shops nearby.

Holy goodness the tofu banh mi was good! Super flavorful marinade and great texture. Friendly service. Clean and quiet space.

I simply loathe souvenir stores But I bought things here and I didn't balk at the price. So that has to count for something. You can find most of what you want (though never anything you need) here Lots of stuff. If this is your jam it's probably your choice

Bus Driver's, Tour Driver's Charter Driver's Motorcoach Operators, Tour Guide's, Student Visitor's, Kids and Parents hear me and hear me well! If you are looking for fair priced souvenirs Abe's Gifts is the place to shop. ( yeah, I know the titles are the same but it depends on what kind of charter we're on) Driver's there are plenty of bus parking right along the side walk next to his business. There are wall to wall souvenirs for your memories to Washington D.C. including kid toys. I'm not going to wave on and on about what's inside go see for yourself. Like I told my students "Don't let your eyes overload your wallet ". With his prices, you will walk outta there with unique souvenirs for everyone you know and love and even more for yourself. Oh yeah, his drinks are cold and goes down just right on hot days like today! I recommend Abe's because Tour Groups as well as the Charter Driver are on a strict schedule. As a driver, we can only drive 10hrs a day and the many groups we charter desire we drive the entire 10 hours. If I was a passenger, I would want the same seeing that they rent the bus for the entire drivers 10 hours. If I can elevate a stop AND keep them happy that warms my heart AND I can get to the Hotel on time, in bed so I can rest my nerves. Now speaking as a Professional Tour Driver, it's VERY important that our passengers are happy because if they aren't WE get stressed because they start to complain about every little thing we do. Majority of the time, the passengers ask for our OPINION for the best places to eat AND shop. AS a tourist myself, I want the best bang for my buck when it comes to spending my money in ANY capacity. As the driver, I NEED a great spot to let them off AND shop/look around if I can. I am always the last to exit the bus BUT expected to be back on the bus when RHEY are ready to leave. No one likes to be kept waiting. Time is VERY important for us all, I/we can't afford to waste time in lines. On my FIRST visit to ABES on the request of the Tour Guide, I was able to find GIFTS for myself and loved ones without paying for over priced unique gifts. Up to date, 90 percent of my gifts for myself have been magnets and shot glasses. I'm not spending another dime on them being that I've later saw the same glasses and magnets I could buy the same magnets at a truck stop and CHEAPER. I don't buy my family many souvenirs because they chunk them in a drawer or regift them at Christmas. As I mention in majority of my reviews, I'm watching EVERY penny I spend and not be a frivolous spender. Talk to you later on my next review!!

I am a student at Roth Jh and a bunch of my friends have been uncharged on items that did not cost a lot

Shop is quite a large size and the prices are really good compared to other places. No gripes about customer service, and funnily enough, there is a cafe down here too. Don't know anything about the food, though. If you're into the cheesy souvenirs, come take a look at this place. Same stuff as the things in other stores.

It was a very good experience everyone was wearing mask, and it was obvious they were very happy to see all of us. They made us feel very safe and they were very welcoming and Souvenir selection is nice too!

Maybe this place should be filed under "comedy." It's so entertaining in a most American way. It's called "Honest Abe's" but it's run by Vietnamese immigrants and I'd say about 90% of what is sold here is made in China. Baseballs, snow globes, little minimally accurate replicas of national monuments, the most powerful symbols of our nation's capitol (and some of our national capital) rendered in cheap Chinese plastic. There's a picture of this place in the dictionary next to the entry for the word, ironic. There is nothing honest, or Abe, or Honest Abe about this place except that it's iconic of the American immigrant dream. This is what happens when your family chooses to side with a corrupt American supported puppet dictator on the losing side of a Cold War war. Iconic and ironic and just so American. This is a must see stop, it's just too much fun. Yes I got a snow globe AND a Washington D.C. baseball. And there's more. part of the store serves up some excellent authentic Vietnamese lunch. I love my country.

Plenty of items here, though the store two doors up (or down...on the corner) has a lot more. Prices are good. Today, I was told everything was 40% off, but that wasn't how the total was calculated, so...that was disappointing.
