Abode Bombay

What a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Colaba, Mumbai. The breakfasts were delicious and the hospitality perfect. The decor is a mix of thoughtfully appointed antiques, local photography, and Indian textiles. I am especially grateful for Nilesh and all his hard work organizing my group stay as well as my local tours and reservations. The special touches of little notes and sweetly scented flowers on our bed each night was a lovely added touch. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Mumbai.

This was the first place I stayed in my first time in India and what a great stay it was. So many pros. The first being incredible service from the staff at this hotel. Led by Nilesh who was incredibly helpful. The staff carried our luggage, greeted us with smiles every time we we saw them and just really did a great job making us feel welcomed. They helped us with issues we were having at the airport and they have this phone that they give you and can take anywhere in Mumbai and you can call and they’ll help with any issues you’re having in Mumbai. Just great service. The rooms were nice bed was comfortable and rooms had everything we needed. A downside was our room was next to a building being built so construction noise was present as we were falling asleep. Pay attention if you book a basic room because second floor has a shared bathroom area that’s very clean. Also if you’re very tall be careful I hit my head a few times and I’m only 6ft tall. This place was really nice and glad we booked it. I highly recommend the Abode!!

My partner and I stayed at Abode Bombay for three nights. It was our first time in Mumbai and the first stop on a two week trip to India. The hotel was in an ideal location to explore the Colaba district - right round the corner from the Gateway of India, the Taj Palace Hotel and a number of museums and galleries. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and give suggestions for places to go. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with a different Indian option every day along with toast and delicious jams, eggs, fruit and cereals. The decor is beautiful, with reclaimed wood and eclectic furniture, and I appreciated their attempts to be plastic-free. Would definitely stay here again! |We also did their early morning tour of Mumbai, visiting various markets, newspaper sellers etc. It was one of the highlights of our whole trip and highly recommended.

This was our first stop on our trip and we felt comfortable and well looked after during our visit. The rooms were clean, and beautifully designed and equipped. The suite was just gorgeous!||There’s a calm and relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel and it’s in a great location with sightseeing, eating and shopping options within walking distance. We booked the Elephanta Caves trip through the hotel which was super. ||Thank you to Nilesh and team for making our stay so memorable. I hope we are able to return one day. ||Room tip: Our family of four were in two rooms. The rooms not directly facing the road had much less road noise.

What a lovely little boutique hotel this is. Decorated in a charming style of classic old Bombay. A really welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. I arrived early and their reception area is a cosy little haven where you can feel comfortable unwinding for a couple. The breakfast was delicous and showed great pride in the local cuisine. And the coffee was the best I had in India. If you are in south Mumbai and in need of a good espresso and an oasis during the day it is great to visit.

Absolute positive review of Abode Bombay. Arrived late at night after a long journey. Staff was very professional and passionate for our needs and making sure we were comfortable and ready to have a great Mumbai experience. I would expect a hotel experience like this to cost four times as much as it did. Abode Bombay's mission statement is admirable and makes me feel so much better about staying in Mumbai. Giving back to community, sustainability, true hospitality, etc. ||Did the half tour with Vasu as that is all we had time for. His knowledge of the city, Indian culture, and history of Mumbai is truly impressive. His love for his city and home was inspiring and made us love Mumbai that much more. There wasn't a boring moment, every stop was somehow even more exciting and impressive than the next. Abode Bombay was brilliant. All the staff were fantastic and very friendly. The breakfast each day was varied and delicious. We arranged three tours from the hotel: the street food tour (make sure you're very hungry!), the early morning tour and half day tour. All were brilliant and varied; they are more expensive than if you were to organise directly with a tour guide, but it saves you loads of hassle. All of the tour guides were really great. ||The hotel is in a good location for exploring old Mumbai, would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Abode Hotel in Mumbai. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the city, and the interiors have a beautiful atmosphere that feels both stylish and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed.|Breakfast was a highlight every morning—delicious, fresh, and with something new to try each day.|Overall, it was a fantastic stay. If we ever come back to Mumbai, we’ll definitely choose Abode Hotel again!
