"This stylish new boutique hotel pays homage to days gone by with its reference to Mumbai’s old name. Located in a colonial building in the heart of the historic center, Abode Bombay mixes a cosmopolitan design sensibility — think custom-built wood furniture and a monochrome palette — with warm nostalgia for the past. The teak floorboards were sourced from demolished buildings, and the intricate floor tiles were traditionally hand-laid; the silk pillow cushions were crafted out of old saris, and the Art Deco antiques were sourced from local markets. Guest rooms are simple and comfortable, with modern decor; some share baths.
