"Abogados Café is St. Paul’s only law-themed coffee shop, owned by lawyers Ofelia Ponce and Inti Martínez-Alemán. Equal parts coffee bar and mercadito, this spot leans in on Latin American tradition, with drinks like Mexican hot chocolate and cubanos, and specialties like the Ex Parte — a long black blended with lavender and French vanilla — or a Fearless Lawtte, laced with cayenne and Ceylon cinnamon." - Justine Jones

Abogados Cafe is right down the street from our house, and we have passed by a few times but never been able to stop. Today, we finally did, and wow am I glad we did! What an amazing place. The staff are so friendly and helpful, welcoming guests in with a kind smile. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cute little seating area. The legal theme is adorable. The drinks here are amazing, unique and flavorful. We most certainly plan to visit again soon!

Another Saturday, another local coffee shop. This one is nestled in a neighborhood, which we love. Staff was beyond friendly and helpful, and the espresso is great! Adding it to our 'keep' list. ☕️🥐

Google
Los Abogados Cafe has truly perfected the art of brewing a good cup of coffee. Their coffee is a harmonious balance, not overly sweet, but just right - a testament to thoughtful and precise craftsmanship. But it's not just the coffee that's exceptional. They also offer an impressive selection of bread and other Latin finds that complement their beverages wonderfully. Their standout offerings, coupled with their warm ambiance, make visiting Los Abogados Cafe a delightful experience. Highly recommended!

Google
Its a must-visit. The owners and staff are all amazing people and they seem to really enjoy the craft of their shop. This part of the city feels safe and the coffee shop has a convenient location with street parking. The coffee itself (espresso for this review) was exceptionally smooth- a nod to the origins (organic, single origin, fair trade) and the market and seating are really pleasant. This deserves to be considered a top coffee shop in the Twin Cities for overall experience and approach to a healthy experience.

Please. Please. PLEASE. Make this place a stop on your list. The coffee. The atmosphere. Everything about this place is just amazing. From the puns about coffee in the menu. To the actual coffee itself. I have yet to find something about this place I don’t like. Do your self a favor and try Abogados Café. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Google
I booked Abogados Cafe for a private event for my Spanish for Lawyers students and we had the best experience! The law theme is so fun and Ofelia and Inti were incredibly welcoming, personable and professional. They made everything easy for me throughout the planning process. The students raved about the coffee and the cafe's atmosphere. We will all be back!

Google
This is a nice little coffee shop that serves organic and naturally sourced coffee and pastries! I ordered the Chocolate Mexicano, which is hot chocolate made with your choice milk, syrup, spices, and an espresso shot! It was heavenly! Beautiful Mexican decor and very clean and inviting. Abogados means lawyers, which have an office above and own it. 😀

Google
Absolute gem of a coffee shop. Beutiful latin inspired interior and absolutely flawless drinks. This legitimately might be the best pull of espresso I've had in the cities. It's off our beaten path but I might have to make the trek here more often for their espresso. Also one of the few places to make an actual cappuccino and not just a latte with extra foam. Order: espresso back, cappuccino

Yelp
I hit this place up while visiting family in MN. It's right on the corner and I didn't see a parking lot, but we parked on the street behind it. The entrance and ordering area is very small but there is an area for sitting off to the side. Clean and tidy with full on coffee shop vibes and decor. We were greeted as we entered and the person at the counter was friendly. They were very busy around 9:00am on a weekday, but service was quick. I ordered an Iced Americano and a coffee cake. I really enjoyed the Americano but $5.00 for a small gets my side eye. Iced Americano - 4 Star- Bold with a sharp espresso bite upfront but a smooth and flavorful finish. $5.00 is just to much for me. It would need to be an outstanding espresso to justify the price, and this was just good. Coffee Cake - 3 Star - just a basic coffee cake but I did like the heavier ratio of crumble on top to actual cake.

Yelp
Abogados Café is a gem in Saint Paul! The place has a cool vibe with its law-themed decor, and the coffee is on point. The Lawtte is my go-to--creamy, with just the right amount of kick. The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome. The pastries are delicious too, especially the chocolate croissant. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or hanging out for a bit, it's the perfect spot to chill. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area! I am obsesseddddddd with their iced mocha!!!! They know this every time when I come in, my usual order!

Yelp
As other Yelpers state this a charming place located in an area short of good coffee. They have a menu of drinks with clever names. The two staff members were friendly and informative. They are open limited hours, closing by 1:00 p.m. everyday. I was looking for food and there was one pastry left. There are no kitchen facilities so they can't prepare dishes or do baking. I was told they're food is made elsewhere and they could warm the items. Needing something to go with my brewed I saw a box of Alfajores which is Caramel Cookies. A box of four scrumptious cookies with creamy insides. Beware these cookies I thought were grossly overpriced. The simple brewed is a cross of a medium to dark roast and was satisfying. The 16 oz brew is the most I've paid anywhere, topping $5 for the first time. Others will probably soon catch up on the price.

Yelp
Abogados is a great coffee shop experience! They specialize in Latin American coffee beans and coffee preparation. The owners and staff are knowledgeable and friendly! A real neighborhood gem.

Yelp
This is one charming neighborhood cafe! You'll find it right where Como and North End meet, in a quiet residential area a few blocks north of that dicey Dale/Front/Como intersection. There's always plenty of street parking available, but they do appear to have a couple of off-street spaces. The cafe is owned by the same folks who own the adjoining law firm, and thanks to that there are a lot of playful legal puns on the menu like the "Fearless Lawtte", the "Motion Granted", and my favorite, the banana-milky "ReSipsa Lawquitur". This is also a Latina-owned business, and you can expect that to inform many of their recipes. Most recently I had a holiday-themed drink with a Mexican-style dash of pepper, and it had the absolute perfect amount of pepper to balance the other tasty ingredients. They have a pastry cabinet which depletes throughout the day, but if you're there early enough you can try one of their very satisfying danishes, croissants, etc. They also have coffee beans and other market items available. The service is extremely friendly and the decor is dainty and thoughtful. And although I usually enjoy the dine-in experience, when I get my coffee to go it comes in a fully-compostable cup and lid, which I appreciate. It's just a really pleasant cafe all around and I am positive that you will love it.

Yelp
One of my good friends is the pickiest coffee drinker I've ever met, and I brought her here when she was in town several months ago and she still talks about it. It's phenomenal coffee, a beautiful space, and a lot of really fun rotating menu items

Stephan S.

Yelp
Heaven! Heavenly! I walked in and colors were everywhere. Such a quaint gorgeous coffee shop. Every nook well thought out and executed well. I just could not get enough. Then I tasted the Motion granted! Coffee with a hint of coconut. It wasnt too sweet....it let the bean shine. And let me say it was the best coffee I have ever had! BEST! Hand down! Was it the fanciest....nope. But Ill take good coffee over fancy. Plus it still had flare. Definitely my new spot for work small work meetings.

Yelp
It's a small but charming and cozy neighborhood coffee place. The interior is inviting and very cute with tile flooring, mural on the wall. I tried Coconspirators (cold) and Lawtee (hot). Both have unique taste which is great. Combined with some sweet and savory pastry......a sweet experience that surely need to be repeated.

Yelp
Excellent service & refreshing Iced Americano only wish I could have one in a larger size - one size does not fit all!

Yelp
A literal translation of Abogado is advocate, which is exactly what owners Inti and Ofelia will do to make sure you love what you order. I come here often, whether to pick up an exciting treat or to give my out-of-town friends a taste of Honduras. They offer warm Latin hospitality and explain everything you need to know to find your perfect drink and/or pastry. They are hilarious people with a passion for the nuance of flavor and texture. If you know anything about the legal field, you'll chuckle at references to legal terms sprinkled throughout the menu. The vibe is adorable, including a number of tables in a room lined with shelves of authentic Latin American gifts and products. If you happen to need a civil, business, or employment attorney, their law firm is in the same building with a separate entrance next door.

Jay S.

Yelp
To have this establishment in the Saint Paul neighborhood is definitely a blessing because I doubt that there is another one like such within geographical proximity. It is a plus that Abogado's is Latinx owned and (partially) women owned. I managed to have a conversation with Inti when I was there, and asked him about his background and experience of being a lawyer and a coffee shop owner. It would have been nice to meet Ofelia as well but she was somewhere else during that time. I loved everything about the decor and the atmosphere. I also loved the presentation of the drinks that my partner and I had gotten: the Chocolate Mexicano and the Summery Judgment. The Summery Judgment took a bit of time to get used to, as upon first tasting it I was a bit skeptical of the botanical tonic water and espresso combination, but eventually I learned to like it and it turned out fine! The Chocolate Mexicano was so well-decorated, that unfortunately to me, the flavor did not live up to its appearance or its price of $10. The natural sweetness from the chocolate was relatively weak, which I thought might have been a lack of balance between the sugar content in the chocolate and added sugar (if there was any). When I was tasting it, I was trying to compare it to Ibarra or Abuelita, and I knew that added cane sugar would help elevate the sweetness from the chocolate as well. Regardless, with all that said, I would love to return in the future and try more of their drinks and even pastries! This was a pleasant experience learning about a small business like such that was personally relatable, and I look forward to seeing this coffee shop continue to flourish. I understand that my 4-star review is based on a very limited choice of items and that this café will probably have many items that are just amazing, so I would love to return and try more of their options and even provide an updated review!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and I loved it! The shop is so cute and they have beautiful murals and paintings on the walls. They also have some room to sit and enjoy your coffee. The staff was so warm and patient. The coffee drink I got had cinnamon and cayenne which definitely had a kick. I absolutely loved the coffee. It was well-roasted with just the right amount of flavors and sweetness. They also sell their coffee beans and other merch. I'll have to come back here again to try their other drinks because this one was so good. I love supporting local businesses like this one!

Yelp
This cafe is a work of art. I enjoyed my "Motion Granted" warm drink and worked for a bit. I ordered a pastry but it was not so good (they cannot warm up food, wish I had known before buying). Learning the history of the cafe was touching - I had a nice interaction with Init (one of the owners). The owners law offices are located upstairs of the cafe. Later that same day I mentioned the spot to a friend and he told me he painted the mural inside the location . Love to see Latines thriving .

Kailee C.

Yelp
This was my first time trying this cafe. The inside was very cute and homey and way different than what I thought it would be after looking at the outside. Loved the tile flooring and on the counters. My americano was really smooth and good but my one feedback piece would be to get better lids for the to go cups. I love compostable products but this type of lid was more of a paperish top and I ended up spilling coffee all over my clothes because it wouldn't stay on properly and kept leaking everywhere. Otherwise, would love to come back for more of the drinks and baked goods!

Yelp
This cafe is the bees knees! My husband and I stopped here on our way to work on a weekday right when they opened and we were welcomed by the brilliant barista with amazing coffee and a smile! We also got a rhubarb pastry which was so delicious. There are outdoor seating options but the indoor was so cute and fun!! Easy street parking. They also have a lot of goodies you can buy such as coffee beans, roasted crickets and some Mexican hot chocolate! Highly recommend!

Tiffany W.

Yelp
Abogados = Lawyers. With a quick Google search, you can learn the sweet history of this husband and wife shop that was dedicated to the Como area due to a lack of a coffee shop in the neighborhood. This is the Twin Cities first Latino owned company so if you are trying to support local - look no further! The ambiance, colorful decorating, bright smiling faces and energetic decorating will keep you coming back for more. Currently outside seating only but eventually the space will be transformed into a beautiful interior section as well. See for yourself the amazing floor tile, window shop setup, smiling baristas, clean interior, colorful murals and plants, outside picnic tables, pastries and a wide variety of both hot and cold beverages. My recommendation? An iced Motion Granted (latte with sweet coconut). Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-1pm / Sat 8am-1pm / Closed Sun. I am so proud of this family and what they are doing in the community. Congratulations, Abogados Cafe!

Yelp
Great local coffee shop. A unique and special place for the community. Great South American coffees and just a great place to enjoy and sip.

Steph H.

Yelp
Definitely worth a stop! You will enjoy excellent quality coffee in an adorable atmosphere with great service.

Inti M.

Yelp
This is Como Park neighborhood's newest little coffee shop! Takeout only for now, might expand seating if there is customer demand. :) This is the Twin Cities' first Latina-owned coffee shop--and first law-themed in the US.

Andrea C.

Yelp
A wonderfully, quaint, neighborhood gem! I've been here several times now and am consistently impressed by the hospitality and the quality of the coffee. Their house drinks are delicious and unique! The barista has even stopped by my table to check-in. Free parking and outdoor tables are added perks. Love this place!

Amaury C.

Yelp

Nick J.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Great neighborhood café that is involved with having a summer festival and food trucks. I

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to this place the other day as we were out running errands. We arrived about 10:15 and we were waited on immediately. We each chose the Chocolate Mejieano drink. Which is the traditional Mexican Hot Chocolate made with discs of chocolate melted with milk and cinnamon and then hand stirred. I had it plain, but my girlfriend had a shot of espresso added to hers. It was incredibly delicious!! It took about 10 minutes for them to make two of these drinks. I would not recommend this drink if you are in a hurry. The ambience is very south of the Border and colorful. They only have seating 10-12 people with 90minute limit. They have limited hours just from 7am-1pm Monday - Friday. Sat they are open from 8am-1pm.Closed on Sundays. The traditional Mexican Hot chocolate was the most expensive drink on the Menu, most coffee was $5-7 for 12oz.Teas were about $4 each. They do have cold brew as well. They have a variety of croissants, danish, and other savory items. These are about$5-7 too. We met one of the owners Ophelia and talked with her for just a few minutes as she was busy in the back. She said business has been good and loves all the support from the community. These owners are both lawyers and that was how they came up with the name for the Cafe. Abogadas means lawyers in Spanish. We will definitely go there again!!

Leah V.

Yelp
Walked with a friend today and she mentioned, oh so casually, Abogados Cafe. I thought I'd drop in on my way back to work and ...it's a fantastic spot! I ordered a cortado (excellent!) and delicious pastry. I'll go out of my way to stop in again!

Clarice P.

Yelp
It was super cute and sweet. I loved the decor. It felt like I was in my grandparents hometown in Jalisco again. I loved the things you could buy too, like champurado that you can make at home and hot chocolate. The person who took our order was super sweet and patient while I was trying to figure out what to get. When I asked what their fav drink was, they said "it's all personal, so what do you normally like?" And made suggestions from there, which was super nice. The one I got was the fearless lawtte, a latte with cayenne and cinnamon. It was good, but I think it was a little much so I'd try something else, but if you're into a little kick to add flavor, that option is totally for you, not so much me and that's okay! The space was small but so nicely decorated. I can't wait to try another coffee. I am giving 4 stars because of the coffee, but I would be more than happy to update when I try another one!

L V.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, friendly baristas, and delectable pastries! This is a super cute shop and the ice latte I had is one of the best I've EVER had! Will definitely be back!

Nick T.

Yelp
So glad that there is such a nice coffee shop within walking distance now! We had the Fearless Lawtee and "insert delicious coconut latte name here" and they were both amazing. We also got a couple of sandwich pastries and a desert one for later and they were all really great. The staff was great, thecafe was gorgeous and I did get to meet the owners and they were beyond friendly. Definitely make this place a stop if you're in the area, and I'll be stopping by regularly.

Kylee R.

Yelp
Very cute little coffee shop. The coffee was great. I also had both a savory and sweet pastry, both very delicious. Also very fast service :)
