"Al-Baghdadi covers sweet and savoury bases with flair, day and night: there’s manakeesh topped with zaatar, cheese, meat, and more, hummus, breakfast, and plenty of Middle Eastern pastries from sticky baklava to cheesy knafeh." - Tim Forster, Holly Tousignant

The manager wasn’t that happy to see customers getting in or he was tired. I understand how hard it could be to manage a bakery/restaurant but a smile wouldn’t hurt anyone. We had 4 kinds of manaiche, the first bit was great but few hours later we got sick… I don’t blame them but try to keep your product fresh and maybe a little but cleaner. Overall, I should say that I will give another chance to try more. You should definitely try it!

UPDATES FOR EACH VISIT* Worth a visit .. Arabic breakfast is authentic here .. fool, manaeesh etc. Juices, desserts and more and more to enjoy! Update: October 2019: Manaeesh needed more toppings. Was not worth the wait. They were understaffed. Will update every time I visit.

We tried to order from uber eats and it was saying that it is closed, so we tried to check it on google map and it says open We called the place using the number they have on google map and it was unavailable. We tried the number on their website and it was unavailable too! We placed the order online using their website and they prompt us with a box saying to come to pick up after 30 mins, we went after 30 mins and we noticed that they didn’t even start with our order The website is not accurate enough because we added a spinach pita to our order and we paid for it, but once they start making the order they said that they don’t have spinach Overall and regardless of their service and their complicated process to place an order, the food is good (7/10)

Amazing taste, presentation, value, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend getting the Manakish mix. They have the most delicious Falafel and Hummus in town. Overall, It’s one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Montreal.

Not a place I’d got to again. See pros and cons Pros: 1) mint tea - good 2) bread - excellent 3) zatar/cheese (not the meat) 4) authentic background old school Arabic music Cons: 1) service is BY FAR the worst ever. We were here on a Sunday noon. Not busy. Sat down for over 45 mins before a lady came to ask if we already ordered. Food came an hour later. This is food that takes 10 mins to make tops. No one came to check if we needed water or how the food was. Poor poor service. I’m not even going to bother with the details. I had to get up four times to get water and twice to order dessert at the till. ***suggestion: please dismiss the lady server. She is utterly useless (and that’s me being very nice) 2) food: - humus - no good. Canned version is better - fool - no good. This is NOT Levantine fool - musabaha- not even close - tabola- missing coscos!!! Onions the size of a tomato - kanafah - old. Cold. No good. you do NOT microwave food and desserts. They are either fresh or they are not! Terrible. Surely microwaving it enhances the taste, but this should be fresh out of oven! 3) bathroom: Gross. Disgusting. No toilet paper. You get the idea.

Very disappointed with their service. We have ordered in advance to get a big dish of "Kanafeh" and for people who don't know what's this dish. It's a traditional Arabic dessert made with shredded filo pastry, or alternatively fine semolina dough, soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese and pistachio. Unfortunately, the cheese was so salty, no layers of filo- just one layer on top of the cheese and no pistachio at all. We don't recommend this place and we'll never buy any dessert from them.

Not sure about their other products but I came on for knafeh and it was old and didn't taste good. Staff were friendly and prices were reasonable.
