"About Thyme serves an eclectic continental menu in a comfy, formerly residential space complete with a garden. The space is decked out with fairy lights and there’s comfortable couch seating where shisha (hookah) is available for guests. Try the sticky date pudding, coconut-battered snapper, and pumpkin-amaretti tortellini." - Wendy Watta

"Brunch among the trees at About Thyme About Thyme is a tranquil, leafy restaurant set in Westlands, central Nairobi, serving European cuisine. Brunch here is excellent – three pages of eggs, French toast and bagel options await. It’s a great place to go with a group, where you can book out one of the hidden tables, fitted with its own hanging fairy lights, cushions and lanterns."

It was a great experience. My friend and I drove by and decided to pop by for drinks after dinner. Arriving there was this hidden gem tropical location. With a pianist giving us a beautiful rhythm and classic jams. Lovely cocktails made by Katanga with his nice personality. We did not have dinner in this beautiful location but definitely will do when next I visit as it was my last day visiting Nairobi. But overall a lovely place to visit. We will be back again.

It’s been quite a while since I was here. Found some pleasant changes - the bar! The service was just as I remembered it back then - superb! We were served by Mary and she was patient with us and very friendly. The garden can get cold in the evenings but they do have those portable charcoal heaters, just ask for one if you’re cold. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Good variety of western meals and some local flavors. Broad cocktail menu reasonably strong. Nice variety of seating areas including bars pending your mood. Western style club music was a meh. Parking area with small walk down to restaurant.

Everything about this restaurant was amazing! The staff was friendly and offered us great service. They had a great relaxing vibe with a saxophone player and lights. The food was spectacular, if i have free time in Kenya i will be returning for sure!

I had the pleasure of having lunch at this establishment and I would highly recommend it. They were able to make substitutions for my cappuccino with almond milk 🥛. The steak was soft and delicious with well prepared mashed potatoes. The highlight of my meal was the decadent dark chocolate mousse with raspberries 10/10. On this particular Sunday, they also had live music which entertaining and did not overwhelmed the chilled dining experience.

Hidden gem in Westlands! Perfect spot for a lazy Sunday brunch, especially when the sun’s out. The outdoor area feels like a chic boho jungle, minus the mosquitoes (thankfully). Live saxophone set the mood without being to loud. We tried multiple starters, all delicious, and the service was fast and super friendly. Can’t believe it took me this long to discover this place.

Just found my new favorite spot in Nairobi. Hidden in a beautiful garden, it’s the perfect place for a slow Sunday lunch – this time with live saxophone music drifting through the trees. The food? Excellent. I started with crispy potato samosas dipped in tangy tamarind sauce, followed by a golden chicken pot pie that hit all the right notes. Definitely coming back for more.

The ambience was perfect, location was perfect, service was exceptional our waitress knew what we needed even before we asked ( I wish I could remember her name but she was wearing glasses- her second name starts with Shi) her instincts were beyond amazing. The food was amazing. Definetely a 10/10
