Above 5 Rooftop Restaurant

A must visit former-Michelin restaurant and it may seem to be the only unique rooftop restaurant in Dubrovnik. Suggest to come here early in the evening for a drink and watching the dazzling sunset. We are vegetarian and there were quite a few options for us. We ordered 1 vegan menu and a 3-course-menu. Innovative dish presentation and flavors are up to expectation. Dessert is excellent. The waiter has a great sommelier knowledge and both of our red wines were perfect. Don’t forget to take a photo on this rooftop with such a picturesque old town as the background. Climbing up 5 floors was worth it.

My friend and I just completed a two week cycling trip with ExperiencePlus through Croatia and this is our final stop - Dubrovnik. We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Stari Grad and up on the roof top is an amazing restaurant. In fact, the only roof top restaurant in the walled city of Dubrovnik. It definitely goes down as one of my top 5 best ever dinners in all the world we have traveled. Adi is the chef and he came around after dessert was served - a fascinating gentleman who was born with the love of cooking, presentation, and experimenting with foods. Our server, Maro, was equally wonderful - just a natural and loves his position (been doing this for 8 years). He shared more about the city and the locals and the recent changes. All of this was experienced with a wonderful 3 course unbelievable meal. Definitely NOT to be missed.

Superb restaurant literally on the roof of a boutique hotel in the Old Town. The food was divine and the waiter was first class, carefully explaining the food and giving advice on other restaurants to try. Great views over the rooftops of the Old Town

We had the fortune of discovering this restaurant in Dubrovnik. It's worth but you need to climb five floors of stairs, so keep this in mind when making your reservation. However, if stairs aren't an issue for you, this place is a must-visit. Upon arrival, the views will take your breath away, as it is the only terrace at this height in Dubrovnik. With seating for only 24 diners, it is a privilege to eat here. The staff was extremely professional and attentive, the music was perfect, and the food was a tasting experience that wonderfully complements the beautiful setting. Certainly, it's not an economical, but for those seeking the best, this is the top choice in Dubrovnik.

I recently had a lovely lunch at Above 5 restaurants, which I had heard was known for its beautiful rooftop views. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food they serve is also exceptional. The dishes are well prepared and exquisitely presented, like works of art. I started with the Chilli Prawns appetizer and then had the Lobster with homemade pasta as my main course. For dessert, I enjoyed a Pavlova with raspberry sorbet, mascarpone cream, blueberries, red currant, and pistachios. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the stunning views from the rooftop. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future. The staff here is undoubtedly attentive and courteous, ensuring that all your needs are taken care of with the utmost care and consideration.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The presentation, friendliness of the staff, their diversity to communicate in a variety of languages for their guests, it was honestly such an amazing experience that I had to go twice. Definitely worth coming around sunset as well, as the atmosphere is stunning, with the skyline of the city and Swallows flying around the towers nearby. Photos are from both visits to this establishment just so you could see the variety in desserts and entrees. Our favorite entree was the seabass with the squid ink gnocchi as we ordered it both times, but also switched it up to the tenderloin for my main dish the second time. Favorite dessert was the mango panna cotta 11/10

Wonderful experience. Of course, the views are a great USP, but without perfect hosting and cooking that won't last. We, family of 4, will definitely come back on our next visit to Dubrovnik. I propably have eaten the best prepared lamb rack ever at Above 5. My oldest son, 14 years of age, also said he has eaten the best desert ever here (mango panna cotta). So: highly recommended. Delicious food together with good en personal service.

We loved this restaurant from the moment we arrived. It offers a three and five course tasting menu. We selected the three course and it was excellent. Service was superb from Maro who assisted us in the selection of our dishes. The dishes are well presented and top quality products. The terrace offers an intimate setting and stunning views. Great ambience and atmosphere especially during the sunset. Definitely recommended.
