Above Ground Lodo

I received an ABSOLUTELY fantastic haircut with Olivia. I waited a week before writing the review because average cuts usually look good for a day or two.. but it still looks great, styles great and feels great. Olivia really listened to what I wanted, stopping and rechecking during the cut to make sure I was good with what she was doing. I had no picture to show her, so she had to go by my vague description of what I wanted - and she got it spot on. I look forward to keeping her as my hair stylist!

I booked my first haircut with Ro after being referred to her, and I’m so happy with the results! I was nervous to get my hair cut short after having long hair for years, and she did a really great job with my haircut and showing me tips and products on how to take care of my curl pattern. My hair feels so much lighter and easier to style and I would highly recommend Ro’s services!!

I’ve been going here to see my stylist Erin for about a year (she was previously at their Colfax location)! Every time I go in to get color done or a hair cut, she makes me feel so listened to and confident in my hair! Erin is amazing, if you need to get color done or just want someone cool to chat with while you’re in the chair, go and see her!

I’ve never written a negative review before, I tend to only write one if I had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my haircut I received by Olivia. She was very kind and easy to talk with, I had requested that no weight would be removed from my hair, because I enjoy retaining the thickness as I try to grow out my pixie cut. Unfortunately once I got home, I discovered she had done deep point cutting through my entire head and that’s definitely the opposite of what I asked for. Random long strands and random short chunks carved out. I also requested that my nape be cut at a 3 guard. When I got the haircut corrected elsewhere, approx 3 days later, a 3 guard was used and cut my nape down tremendously, so I suspect a 5 was used by Olivia. I am terribly sorry that I felt this way, but I do feel like stylists often hide behind deep point cutting or texturizing to disguise a haircut that was not done with intention. And one section on my right temple was completely missed with random long hairs sticking out. For the price, and not receiving a wash or style, I find it to not be worth it at all. I believe she’s a wonderful energy, I just recommend listen to the consults a bit closer. Thank you

I went to Above Ground not sure of what I even wanted to do with my hair, took a shot in the dark, and booked Ashe. My experience with them was incredible. I felt safe, seen, and protected. They walked me through my cut step by step to help me achieve my goals. The shop is clean and welcoming, and I felt like I was being taken care of by a master of their craft. Ashe was very gentle, confident, and lighthearted, everything I could want from a haircut. I highly recommend not only Ashe but any of the other artists at Above Ground.

Finally found the gold mine of CO barber shops! I’ve spent a year searching for a space where I can feel the inclusivity just walking through the door. This is it. And especially an exceptional barber, Heff! She’s an artist in her craft, and just an absolute pleasure to kick it with while getting my undercut faded. She shook me with a dope design, and I can’t even wait for my next one! She specializes in meticulous cuts, KILLS it in the color department, and is eager to build her design skills. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
