This would have been a 5-star review, but the way the manager handled our simple request brought the experience down a notch. As you can see in the photo, we were originally seated at a table with the umbrella down, which made the seating situation quite awkward. We politely asked if the umbrella could either be put up or removed, as the surrounding tables all had theirs adjusted in one way or another. The server came back and said the manager's answer was "no," with no explanation. That felt unnecessarily rigid, especially since it seemed like a small and reasonable request. We then asked to be moved to another table, which thankfully was accommodated. Despite the rocky start, the food and drinks definitely helped redeem the experience. The burger and fries were absolutely top-notch. The wings were decent but nothing special and we might skip those next time. Overall, it’s a nice spot to grab some good food and drinks, but the initial service left something to be desired.

The Abridge Burger is the best burger I've ever tasted with a subtle hint of heat. The beers here are fantastic. Highly recommend a flight of beers to enjoy. We sat outside with our dog and they brought him water.

Great food, great location and easy to find. They offered a wide variety on the menu. Lots of outdoor seating and very nicely played out. The brewery is in the same room as the seating. Parking available at the church next door and a sidewalk available for ease. Great friendly service. The marsala chai kombucha was delicious!

It was a nice place inside. I waited over 45 minutes for my food just to get a burger almost completely raw. I appreciate them taking accountability and giving us our refund but I will not be returning. I was disappointed considering this place had good reviews.

Love the fried green tomato blt and the soft pretzel with hot pimento cheese. The beers were tastey and I especially enjoyed their tart, oak aged sours. Very kid friendly with a lawn to run and play. Just keep an eye of your kiddo since the lawn is close to a road.

The food here was absolutely fantastic! I got a chicken club, and opted for asparagus instead of fries. Man was that a great decision. The asparagus was cooked to perfection! I also recommend the nachos with pot roast. Different and delicious! Also, don’t forget about the beer. Come down and grab yourself a flight or a pint.

Probably the best food I have ever had cheese burgers are amazing! As well as the pork roast nachos they layer them so it's not just all on top. The salad was delicious it tasted like they charcoaled it added amazing flavor to it! (Restaurant correct me if I'm wrong) Servers are good with the drinks Thanks y'all! Amazing staff and amazing food!!!

You can get a side of asparagus and peppers for $1 more than fries so I opted to upgrade. They accidentally brought me fries instead of my asparagus when my order came so they brought me my asparagus on the side. The burger is small but mighty. It is very compact and flavorful. I got a cheeseburger with cheddar instead of white American cheese that is comes with. I the only thing I would improve would be to make my burger a little wider instead of taller so it was a bite of bun with burger instead of having an extra half inch of burger bun left when I was done. Otherwise the burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were good with seasoning on them. I like crispy fries so I liked these. The asparagus was super fresh off the grill and yummy too. Looked like they may have some outdoor stuff like corn hole (bean bag toss) when the weather is nicer. Will have to bring the kids when the weather gets better. I was cold outside but my husband thought it was great in a T-shirt and jeans. I had to get a blanket from the car and I was still cold. I probably should have just sat inside haha.

We LOVED this spot! We arrived around 5pm on a Friday and it was getting crowded but we snagged a spot outside. Parking is at the church next door (bless them) and it progressively became more crowded throughout the time we were there. The service was great. We ordered flights and the food was way better than traditional brewery fare. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with the Brussels sprouts, chicken nachos, charred Caesar salad, and a side of pimento. We were blown away by it all! The beers were delish and our kid had fun in the patio playing with the other kids. Lots of pups roaming, too! Solid stop!

Definitely my #1 traditional burger in town (I consider smash burgers a different category). Their special brisket blend ground beef is extra flavorful and cannot be beat. I especially enjoy their food truck location at Xul Brewery downtown.

A good place to come unwind, have a beer and a burger. There is outdoor dining with shade for warmer days. Indoors is spacious and airy with lots of light. Services was friendly and pleasant.

This place is fantastic on a nice day and there is lots of picnic tables outside to enjoy a nice beer and tasty food. The people here make you feel like family, and it is a homey environment with great service!

OMG. Never have I ever craved a caesar salad more. Usually I don't think its worth it to pay for caesar salad since it is so simple that you could practically make at home for a fraction of the cost, but Abridged Beer Company's "Charred Caesar Salad" is to die for. I never really thought a salad could make a lasting impression, but this one did. I would come back just for their caesar salad. Highly recommend checking it out.

If I tell you that I have a party of five and you sit me at a square table for four in an EMPTY restaurant I am not spending my hard earned money in your establishment. Abridged used to be a favorite of my family until this happened to us twice. The first time the restaurant was crowded and we made it work because we really wanted to eat there and had our appetites ready for burgers and nachos (and my husband loves the beer). This time the hostess told us that she was not allowed to sit us at a table to accommodate us and offered us a metal folding chair to pull up to a four top. I politely declined, handed her the menus that she handed to me to carry to my own table and told her we would eat elsewhere. Knoxville has options and as hard as my family works, we will not eat in a restaurant that cannot provide the bare minimum. Rude service won't get you far in this town, there's definitely room for improvement here.

The Abridged Burger is my current Knoxville fave. It is incredibly good. The crispy fried Brussel sprouts make it really pop! Service and atmosphere are very good too. I'll definitely be a regular patron.

We live in Houston Texas, by any measure a crazy food culture town; we stopped by Abridged Beer Company tonight for dinner while passing through. All we can say is Dang! ABC has it going on. Great service; vibe is cool; and the food is freaking outstanding! Well done ABC team. So glad that places like ABC still exist!

Good place. Relaxing and fun atmosphere. Love it here during the summer with the patio.

The menu has some wonderful options for everyone. Pizzas and burgers are amazing! They also have seasonal dishes if you're feeling adventurous. The beverage menu is even better with a huge variety that appeals to everyone's tastes. The only downfall is everyone else knows how great this place is, so there are times when the wait is very long and they don't do reservations. This still doesn't stop me from coming, they're busy for a reason.

The Abridged burger pizza might be the best pizza I've had in Knoxville! Great vibes and people. They accommodated our party of 8 perfectly. We'll be back super soon!

Stopped here driving through town. Great location, just off the expressway. The beer was really great. I had the Synchronous IPA (very Citra hopped) and my husband had the Octoberfest (not sweet and so good). Both were delicious! The FunGuy burger and fries rally hit the spot too.

Finally got to try Abridged for the first time while double-dating with new friends. The parking is a bit unique, borrowing spaces from the church next door. Many spots are sectioned off (understandably) for churchgoers, and then you need to walk down a paved trail-which is new-ish and nicely lit-down to the bar. If you have anyone with mobility concerns, I would suggest dropping them off before you go to park. Once we got down to the outdoor check-in table, we were immediately greeted by super friendly staff. It was a beautiful evening and at 5 pm, there were plenty of outdoor tables available, each with their own heater. We appreciated how the staff were masked, patient while we decided what to order, and that they seemed to anticipate our every need. I ordered the Abridged Chicken-grilled- and hoped to upgrade my side to their smaller salad, but that isn't an option. You can do fries, potato salad, or asparagus. I opted for the fries. My husband got the Fried Green Tomato BLT with fries. Everything is brought out as it is made, so your party may get items at different times, as a heads up. While different, it does get everyone their food while super hot and fresh! The buns were tasty but a bit burnt but the aioli on both sandwiches, I will dream of and the fries were so well-cooked and seasoned. I highly recommend anything with their crispy, abundant bacon, too. Everything's better with bacon, ya know? My husband tried a few beers, but especially enjoyed the Don Lucas Mexican lager. Next time, we will probably bring the kids and get some apps, try a beer flight (which we didn't know they had) and the burger we see people rave about. We will definitely be back for round 2!

Normally I would give 5 stars because that's just how good it is. However, this time our food all came out 10 minutes apart from each other - so we didn't really even eat "together" which was a bummer. The burger of the month for May is "The Sergeant Pepper." Somehow each burger they come up with just gets better and better. As always, get the pretzels and a sour/beer. I got the Haute Couture sour and it was a 9/10, absolutely delicious. My first ever sour from here was Aunt Karen's Fruit Salad and I've never seen it on the menu again - so if you see it, try it!!

Burgers were awesome and the pizzas! Service was very nice and handled our larger party amazingly!

Get the nachos! They are so good! We love this place! Great burgers, great appetizers, and great beer! We've been to both locations and both are fantastic!

atmosphere is cool, waiter was good. we ordered pepperoni pizza and chicken salad sandwich. literally 2 minutes after ordering my food came out then the pizza came out about 15 minutes later. we thought that was kind of weird since we were clearly eating together. the sandwich was great, but the pizza was soggy filled with grease and fell apart. brought it home to put it in the air fryer after and didn't make it much better.

Amazing service, amazing chicken sandwich, tasty drinks. It's industrial-looking inside, looks like a lot of other breweries.

I love Abridged and have never had any issues. Bc of a late work night me and friend decided to go get dinner at abridged at 9 pm. Google says they close at 10. We arrived at 9:02, I know this bc the hostess turned her wrist to show us her hostess gadget with the time on it and says " well, our kitchen closes at 9...but yall can still get drinks" we had to laugh bc how were we supposed to know that:/ anywho for all those that look up their hours and think you can still get food up until 10 ... THE KITCHEN CLOSES AT 9!!!

Phwew am I glad we came here! In Knoxville for only 3 days, we did some research on what the best was and this was top on the list! We sat outside so I can't speak much on the ambience inside, but the outdoor area was so welcoming and comfortable. We also had wonderful service. Now, on to what you really want to hear about.. the food! I ordered the fried green tomato BLT and added pimento cheese to it. I also got a side id the potato salad. This sandwich was great, but honestly I could have done without the bacon- it just didn't live up to the quality of the rest of the sandwich. The potato salad was wonderful, though I ate many of my fiancé's fries. Do yourself a favor and get them. It was truly a perfect fry. Another thing that was perfect was his Abridged Burger. When I say that this was the best burger I have ever eaten, I mean it. The beef, the aioli, the onion, the FRIED Brussels sprouts just made for an absolute perfect burger. We will certainly be back!

Ate at Bearden location. Great ambience and food but ok beer in a picnic atmosphere with water served in disposable plastic cups and food served on paper plates with plastic utensils. Please help the environment and economy and hire a dishwasher, or stop charging restaurant prices

A group of friends and I stopped here to grab drinks and burgers. Everything was delicious and came so so fast. The sour I ordered was one of the best I've ever had, I'd definitely would come back just for it. Be warned that they love to put Brussels sprouts on a lot of their dishes, but I don't personally mind.

Delicious food, great service, awesome ambiance! Try the pretzels and the burgers. You'll thank me later.

I am regular at abridged but haven't written a review in awhile. This trip was especially good though. They had some new beers that were more to my pallet as I don't drink IPAs and only occasionally want a sour. Tonight they had a stellar amber called off the cuff and a really good brown called san saba songbird. It tastes along the lines of a dry Irish stout which is right up my ally as I tend towards the less sweet when I am eating food. Oh wait, the FOOD!!!!!! They got something special going on in that kitchen. Pot Roast Nachos. Don't miss them. I don't know how they manage to get the exact right amount of cheese and toppings spread fairly evenly. No soggy chips in a puddle in the middle and dry plain chips under the pile. The chips are extra crispy flour chips. I get this almost every time I go. Then I am too full for an actual meal so I split one with my wife. Tonight she got the buffalo chicken sandwich. This was a bit messy but the chicken was good quality and the brioche buns are always a treat. But the sauce was sooooo good. True traditional buffalo flavor done extremely well is better than trying to get fancy. The side benefit of the messy sandwich was the seepage onto some of the fries. Bonus buffalo fries. SCORE. I find the inside a bit noisy. I mostly go when it is nice outside. Even though I am not a fan of picnic tables, I really enjoy the atmosphere at the outside tables. This is the original location. I am also a fan of the Oak Room and Worldwide HQ. Both very different experiences but they have their own charm. The WWHQ on Peters road brings the best of all locations under one roof.

We were a group of 5 which ate there yesterday, arriving around 5:00 p.m. The place was nearly empty, so we had our choice of tables. We chose inside, as there was no shade anywhere outside. Service was quick and attentive. The menus are confusing - online there is the "menu" for the particular location, then the "order on-line menu" which is completely different. It's unclear if we could order from the order on-line menu - the menu given to us at our table didn't have many options. The burgers were excellent, as was the potato salad. The chicken sandwich was equally good, but quite tough. By the time we left around 6:30, the place was packed inside and out. A bit pricey, but everything was delicious, service good, and the place was clean with plenty of parking next door at the adjacent Church. We will go again, but maybe try a different location as the menus seem to vary from place-to-place.

Me, my wife and another couple came here for the first time for a casual dinner, and had a very nice experience. We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating staff. Someone came over and turned on a table side heater as soon as we selected an outdoor picnic table. Service was outstanding the entire evening. We always had someone nearby checking on us, serving us, or clearing our table for us. My wife and I shared the Impossible Cheeseburger with fries. I especially liked the toasted Brioche bun. The burger was very good, and the fries were also notable. I had the Helles Lager, which I enjoyed. My wife had to settle for the Mexican Lager, although she preferred something darker. Unfortunately, they were out of their dark beer selection. Overall, it was a good time, and place we would happily return when in the area.

Easily one of the best places for a burger or chicken sandwich in Knoxville. I'm not a fan of Brussels sprouts but the other sandwich selections are top notch and their rotating sandwich specials are fire. The Guac and roll burger was the special when I was last there and the pico and avacodo were great additions to their perfectly cooked burger (just just a bit of pink in the middle). You can ask request no pink of thats your liking. Their fries are some of the best seasoned in town and craft brew selection has something for everyone. There's limited indoor space but they have a large patio area with heaters that provide plenty of warmth on the colder days. Staff is friendly and you can parking is located at the neighboring church.

Great place to try local beer & delicious burgers. Lunch truck burgers from 11-3pm Wed & Thursday. Will come back again.

We stopped by here for lunch and a beer on our way through Knoxville. I ordered the maple crispy chicken sandwich and asparagus and it was incredible! I ate the entire thing! My husband ordered the house chicken sandwich which was super flavorful and the potato salad which we split. The beer was right up my alley with fruity sours that are more like drinking juice than anything. Would definitely recommend.

I was really glad I found this place! It was pretty busy when we went but the vibes were really nice! The food was amazing and they had a very good selection of beer. I saw that people can bring their dogs. I will definitely be back.

I told my husband I had a taste for a juicy burger, so we decided to check out Abridged. I like the fact that their seating is outside. Once we pulled up we noticed several people outside and it didn't look toddler friendly. So, we decided to get our order to go. As soon as my husband pulled up, they ran our food outside... no call, no follow up, no text! I ordered the Abridged burger. This is hands down the best burger I've had in Knoxville. It's tender, juicy, and seasoned well. I like the texture the brussel sprouts added, the aoli had a kick, but did not over power the burger or the other flavors. This was a well cooked burger with cohesive flavors. The fries were seasoned to perfection. Unfortunately, they were slightly chewy, but it may have been because we picked up our order. I prefer a bit more crunch. Overall, great burger and very filling!

Abridged does a great job. Of course they have great beer. They also have top notch service with friendly faces. The food goes beyond the amazing burger. I had the Oakroom salad and couldn't believe how good it was, still thinking about it the next morning.

Do not recommend ... go to the food truck at Xul or to the location off Kingston pike. I have been here multiple times and have had an okay experience... tonight's experience made it where I will go somewhere else off cedar bluff. Server at the bar couldn't care less to take an order for food or drinks all night . He never checked in without us saying something but luckily the woman working the bar followed through with his job...cause he asked them too. We had to ask for him to cash us out which he delegated to another worker. Women's bathroom smells like a whole box of used tampons that has been sitting in 100d weather.

We dine at abridged twice a month and food is usually on point. But the nachos have came back burnt the last two times. When we told the waitress, she said the kitchen had messed up a lot of orders. She didn't even offer to replace them or anything. I guess we know not to order them anymore.

I just moved to Knoxville in the summer so I've only been to Abridged a few times during COVID. Let me just say that this business takes the pandemic very seriously and it is much appreciated! Everyone wears masks and they require all their customers to wear their masks unless seated at their table. They have gone away with ordering at the bar and are doing a fantastic job serving everyone at their seats. They also clean throughly between guests! Every time I've been to Abridged I am blown away by their friendly staff! Of the few times I've been here I've had some things forgotten, however they are always super nice and make up for it with free beer! They are trying their best during this time and it shows!! I'm a huge fan of IPAs and the Alright Alright is my favorite! I only had beer here until the last time I went. I've been told their burgers are to die for and I finally tried one this past weekend! It was absolutely delicious. There were so many phenomenal flavors that were balanced so well. The burger was also paired with these deliciously seasoned fries. All and all I plan to come back to Abridged many times! Keep up the great work!!

This is a small neighborhood brewery and pub. The patio was the perfect vibe for a low-key weekday dinner. I would go here again with no hesitation. I might even buy the T-shirt! My dining partner enjoyed the beer flight of four handpicked selections ranging from light to pale to dark. Favorites were the Don and Prolific.

I was soooo excited to go here after trying their burgers at Xül. I mean a Beer Burgers & Fries place is kind of the American Dream. And sure enough it was great! The waiters were so friendly & nice. the atmosphere was fun & upbeat & of course, the food was delicious. I got a sour beer (can't remember the name) & it was perfect. I feel like so many places try to do too much with the flavors in their sours these days but Abridged had it perfected. The burger was great too. Well cooked, great flavors, & the fries were crunchy and warm (what more can you ask for?). I was very full by the end meal. The only reason I take off a star is because of the inconsistency from their food truck to their restaurant burgers. The food truck sells much thinner Pattys which I prefer, & why I understand you can't be that consistent in different environments... why not offer the thinner patty at the restaurant too?? Anyway, great place. Will be back.

One of the best burgers in Knoxville. We split a wilted Caesar salad...which was excellent. Great shaved parmigiana! We also split the Abridged burger which we have had before...always outstanding! Instead of fries we ordered the asparagus. Excellent! My wife had the Helles and I had the amber beer. Always great beer selections as well as high quality.

This is my third time here. The second time I was told that there was a 45 minute wait so I left. It was too cold to sit outside. Anyways, the burgers are great, but tonight I had the honey sriracha fried chicken sandwich. It's better than Popeye's and Popeye's is better than Chik fil A, but I digress. Wonderful sandwich! Had the fries with it. I think they'd be better without the seasoning, but it was okay. Beers are really good. I would come here just for the food, and the beers are an amazing plus. COVID has worked for them being a service + kind of organization now. I took pics of my beers, but devoured the chicken sammie before snapping a pic. Trust me, it's delicious.

*Beer: 4 stars* *Food: 3.5 stars* I think this place isn't bad, but I think it was a little overhyped for me. After receiving so many recommendations of coming here to get their burger as it was really good, I had some expectations. First, I doubt it was going to be better than Stock and Barrel, but at the same time I had higher expectations of what I ate. We came on a Friday, and well it was pretty busy. Luckily there were seats at the bar so we got quick seating as we just shared it. I ordered a beer and we ordered food. Looking at the menu one thing that stood out to me was the loaded nachos, which was pretty good I thought it was a great appetizer. Next up, we had the burgers. It was alright, but to be honest, I wouldn't say I'm a fan of it. I was the fan of the nachos, and the beer, but the burger definitely fell short for me. I'm not saying that the burger was bad. But, honestly if you asked me how it tasted today, I would have no idea how to explain it. The asparagus was a little sad too. It didn't stand out, but then again I guess you can always get fries. Just, if you're thinking of getting asparagus, just skip that and get what they recommend. So all in all, it was pretty good. I'm leaning more towards the 4 stars, but honestly the food fell a little flat for me. I think sticking to the appetizers is probably where it's at... I mean after all it is a brewery.

We came here for some pre-dinner drinks. Super friendly service from the host to the server. Beer selection was nice: I fell in love with the Fields of Gold. We'll be hitting this place up again on our return visit to Knoxville.

Abridged is awesome! They have a great beer selection and their food is excellent. Last night I tried the Abridged Burger for the first time and it was fantastic. The food at most breweries is mediocre, but not here! I had heard rave reviews about their signature burger, so I'm glad I finally tried it. The burger was so juicy and the fries were perfectly crispy. I loved the addition of the brussels sprouts as well. I will definitely get it again next time I visit. I love the atmosphere and the workers here are very friendly. Each time I've been here it's packed, so parking can sometimes be a pain, but you can usually find parking at the library or church next door. I highly suggest this place for a date night or a night out with friends. There are so many breweries around town, but Abridged is for sure one of my favorites!

Delicious hand crafted burgers. Perfect place to bring the kids and dog. Love the strip of grass for kids to run around. Would definitely recommend this to my fellow mamas with young ones. The beer is great too. Totally family friendly and the picnic tables are perfect for large groups.
