Best Late-Night Restaurant Dining in Houston: Where to Eat After Hours | Eater Houston

"When that late-night halal craving strikes, look no further than this OG halal food truck turned brick and mortar. Here, shawarma — chicken being the most popular — comes in wraps, loaded on fries, over rice, or in a salad bowl. The panini-style Italian shawarma family order is a prime option for ravenous diners and comes complete with tender meat, cheese, and garlic sauce loaded on sesame Italian bread and cut into pizza slices. Open daily until 3 a.m." - Brittany Britto Garley

Breaking the Ramadan Fast at Texas Suhoor Fest | Eater Dallas

"Starting as a Houston food truck and now described as a coast-to-coast shawarma chain, this vendor brought its halal shawarma to the festival lineup and represents a rapidly expanding player in the halal food scene." - Didi Paterno

Houston’s Best Food Trucks | Eater Houston

"With various trucks and restaurants in the region, Abu Omar offers all of the Middle Eastern street food temptations — and is 100 percent halal. Traditional wraps and bowls are packed with meat, tomatoes, tzatziki, tahini, or garlic sauce and there are additional options that stray from the norm, like the chicken tender wrap with cucumber pickles and cheese." - Megha McSwain

First time in this part of Houston and found it after reading reviews. It is outstanding food at very reasonable price and it was enough for two if not extremely hungry. We ordered platters that came with fries and pickled vegetables. It was freshly prepared and was yummy. Unfortunately they have only two tables outside so best for take out. Chef was friendly and very interesting person. Menu is limited which means everything they make is the best of their menu and they have perfected it.

I flew in from Milwaukee, WI, for a work event and came here for the Lamb Gyro Salad Bowl. Fantastic food served quickly. At their outdoor tables, there was a photo shoot going on with lots of foot traffic. It seemed like a nice spot for a quick bite.

The quality of food and price is A1. Can’t beat it. Hard to get a good shawarma here in Houston but this place has it. Also, the service is the best, Abdulrahman always treats me with respect and is quick! Great establishment overall.

I recently ordered takeout and I was really impressed with the experience! The ordering process was easy, and the staff were friendly when I picked up my food. The Brazilian guy, Ricardo is super welcoming :) I tried the sandwich with fries and it was absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and still hot and fresh when I got home. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was packed carefully, so nothing spilled or got soggy. It’s clear they put a lot of care into making sure the food travels well while maintaining its quality. If you’re in the mood for a quick, tasty meal with top-notch flavor, I highly recommend for takeout. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon!

We ordered uber eats yesterday for dinner. Decent halal option, good falafels, okay chicken shawarma, the lamb eaters enjoyed the lamb shawarma and baklava was okay too. Good option for around the area if you’re looking for quick food, their service was super fast and convenient with uber offer running as well making it economical as well.

Visited late night on friday, must say the food is delicious. I ordered the chicken shawarma arabi, the shrak bread is very unique, the staff told me about it. The employees were super nice and respectful despite being super busy. Overall 8/10, due to the homeless situation outside.
