The 13 Best Ethiopian Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"Despite the chaos of North End Road outside, any urgency is left at the door after you enter Abugida. This restaurant in Fulham is a slow spot where the music is low, catch-ups are intimate, and the Abugida Special will cause complete silence as everyone's focus shifts to tearing rolls of injera and scooping satisfying misir wot. Highlights include the nutty shiro which tastes great alone and even better scooped with injera, alongside any of the other stews. We’re also fans of the doro wot, a thick, spicy, sauce with pieces of tender chicken, which can be added as an extra." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley

Food Rundown Abugida Vegan Special A hearty, satisfying platter that takes two business days to finish. Tell them to keep the injera rolls coming as you take your time ripping and scooping until you’ve reached the almost disintegrated, soaked injera bottom. I went for dinner and it was our first time trying Ethiopian in London. Abugida was above expectations. Staff are all very friendly and happy to suggest. Food is well presented and very tasty, an interesting experience. Importantly, huge portions for a very reasonable price. I would strongly recommend if you enjoy spicy food and unexplored flavours and textures. I will definitely come back for more!

Great portion, great flavour, very reasonably priced too. The presentation is different to British foods but don’t let that put you off My first time eating Ethiopian food and it was amazing. Sometimes you need to leave your comfort zone- give Nandos a miss and try something new. You won’t regret it!!!

For my first experience of Ethiopian food, I am absolutely blown away that my life has been so bland to have never eaten this unbelievable cuisine. Everything was flavourful, delicious and abit of everything. Sour, sweet, spicy, cooked well and just crazy good.. come here and get the platter, you won't be dissapointed.

Wow! That was a feast! We had the 2 person meat platter and it was a spectacular showcase of different Ethiopian dishes. Go hungry because this will fill you right up. Service was nice on a quiet evening and the decor lent itself to the cuisine. Overall highly recommend.

Abugida is a hidden gem. The ingredients are fresh, genuine Ethiopian cuisine is rare to find in London and the atmosphere is like feeling at home. Love the vegetarian options. And there's something special about eating at a table with your friends, without cutlery.

Visited Abugida last night for a dinner and it was my first time trying out Ethiopian cuisine. As a vegetarian, I was so happy to see most of their menu being plant based. I ordered the vegetarian platter and was filled up to my neck with their special bread and multiple toppings (spicy, sweet, savoury). Overall, the food was top quality and ambience was very classy. The two gentlemen at the front were kind and even spent time giving me recommendations of the menu. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try out something different.

Fabulous, if you want to experience Ethiopian dishes. Wonderful spice and flavour. Great service. Also very good for anyone who is gluten free and/or dairy free. I'm afraid that the picture is after eating the meal. Be prepared to eat with your hands (just like you would do with sandwiches!)
