Aburi Sushi Review - Greenway - Houston - The Infatuation

"Houston has, roughly, one metric ton of sushi restaurants, and Aburi’s modestly sized nigiri list only adds to the mix. This Greenway spot is where flame-broiled strips of snapper and buttery pieces of chu toro are served to groups of diners that could be mistaken for an episode of Girlfriends . Aside from a playlist of Frank Ocean’s greatest hits, Aburi is pretty quiet during dinner. So if you’re stuck in Galleria traffic, need a quick lunch at the sushi bar, or want a Happy Hour where you can get nigiri pieces for half the price and lychee martinis for $8, find a seat at their sushi counter. " - Gianni Greene

What a gem of a place !! I didn’t expect it to be so cozy and nice walking in! It was like being transported into another realm but ambience was calm and collective with the food being delicious! Happy hour was on point with 8 dollar lychee mimosa! The service was a bit slow with us, not receiving drinks for like an hour but our waitress Tammy took care of the issue for us which I really appreciated she was so sweet and knew what you needed without even asking !! We will be back!

Google
I highly recommend the lox roll, and the wagyu fried rice is both shareable (2-3) and always a 10/10. The cocktails are delicious and cute, and each table has its own lamp with different lighting options, which is a nice detail. I was not a fan of the gyoza, it was a little soggy if I’m honest. The edamame was good, but a little too garlicky *for me* I only had a few, but my friends did enjoy them. I will also say it was harder to converse when seated at a table versus the half booth section, as the place is small-ish and can get loud.

We can’t say enough great things about Aburi! We went to celebrate my birthday with the Omakase option and the Chef did not disappoint! Everything was so fresh and the presentation was beautiful. The drinks were also amazing! We recommend the Lychee martini! Our waiter, Minh was so attentive and made sure we had an amazing time. I had a wonderful birthday there to say the least! Definitely don’t pass them up!

Really enjoyed my time at Aburi. The food is always excellent and very fresh. My favorites here are probably the Iris roll and the uni pieces. Not many restaurants provide 3 different selections for uni, thats pretty awesome. For dessert, the bread pudding is a must. Like wow it’s pretty freaking good. Atmosphere is great if you’re looking for a date night or even just a casual night out. The service is top notch, Kristina always so attentive and good with recommendations. Definitely one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in houston.

Google
Absolutely finest Japanese restaurant I have ever enjoyed in the US for the past few years. Almost everything is very delicious (90+ scores in 100 scope) except the smoke salmon sashimi, which is good but not smoky enough for me. The waitress is pretty professional in all aspects, and the atmosphere is gorgeous. Overall experience is fantastic. Will definitely come back soon.

Google
Owner is cute and invested in how people feel about their experience, which I like. The bartender was great, the banana margarita was delicious, and the sushi was great! I’ve eaten A LOT of sushi over the past 3 months, and this is a new fav. Will be back!

Google
Amazing food and service! Sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. Our server was fantastic—attentive and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon. Recommend trying the hamachi appetizer (pic 3)

Google
This place is solid. You can tell the owners and staff care about your experience and the quality of the food. The menu is fresh and innovative without being gimmicky or pretentious. The inside is gorgeous and everything down to the plates, cups, etc has been well thought out. Favorite dishes: yakiniku, scallop and foie gras nigiri (actually any of the Aburi nigiris), hamachili roll, seafood squash soup, and snapper ceviche salad. Honestly you can’t order anything bad here. They have really good seasonal items too. I dream of the truffle foie gras king crab risotto they had last fall/winter!

Yelp
Wonderful from beginning to end!! Very thoughtful service & incredible food. Never had a banana margarita before and I've been missing out

Yelp
Whatever was here before doesn't matter, because it looks COMPLETELY different inside. The ambiance is glowing, service was excellent, food was excellent too. I went on Monday at 6pm, easily got two seats at the sushi bar, and yay! It's happy hour! They recommended chef's choice fully dressed 9p for $55, like a little mini omakase, personally I would say worth it. But remember it's subjected to change. I wouldn't order happy hour unless I'm with friends socializing and drinking, but I don't get drinks so I can have more budget for food. =P Next time I would order a la carte for nigiri and get some additional toppings. I got the 9p chefs choice - would order again, and scallop foie gras to end (also would order again) I wanna come back, so I would say I had a great dining experience, but don't order "fillers" and I want to try more things too!

Yelp
I drove past this restaurant several times and I decided to have lunch here on a weekend. There is lunch menu on weekends too which is great. I had the Three Course Lunch Prix Fixe: Chirashi lunch, house salad, and Oreo chocolate mousse. The fish was fresh but the rice needed more seasoning. The vegetables on the house salad were cold and fresh. The Oreo chocolate mousse was a let down. Even though the flavor was very chocolatey, the texture wasn't ideal. I also had the Aburi Flight and it was ok. The menu didn't state the sauces used on each nigiri, which was weird. My server also didn't explain the dish too. The service was just ok; my server could use a little smile on her face. The restaurant is clean and beautifully furnished. I love the ambience but the food could be better.

Yelp
What a great find Aburi Sushi turned out to be! For a relatively new spot, this place already has there act together! One of the more modern , but still cozy aesthetics you will encounter. We sat at the bar ( and there are two by the way), and were greeted immediately . We started off with apps of black pepper fried calamari, fried very nicely and quite tasty w/ just the right amt of salt. And also an app of the best honey roasted Brussel sprouts, at a sushi bar no less!! that I have EVER HAD. Go figure, lol , However that being said, you come for the sushi, and excellent succulent sushi they did DELIVER! Nuthin was a fail , food or service wise so If I had to nit pick, then I'd say the hot sake was not as stellar as the rest , but otherwise I have my latest sushi crush in the making!

Yelp
Restaurant located in a strip mall, which means plentiful free parking. Good vibe for date night, girls night, or even family night out (I saw all these groups represented). The quality of the sashimi was excellent and all the food was delicious, except for a disappointing dessert not pictured (chocolate creme brulee). Service was meh, but hoping for a 5 start experience next visit.

Yelp
Had been wanting to try Aburi and specifically wanted to take advantage of HH or "social hour" that runs from 4.30-6.30 M-F. Definitely took advantage of this. It's a fun clean/contemporary space and really filled up for the night. Highlights for me were the spicy edamame, crisps were good as well. Tried a few of the $4 nigiri from hh as well as some off the regular menu. While the fish seemed to be fresh and clean for some reason I was slightly underwhelmed. Do I have sushi rice standards now?? But the drinks! Don't sleep on the lychee martini. And to close out- definitely GR my the bread pudding! Plenty of parking in the lot as it's a strip mall! At least that's one less thing to worry about!

Yelp
This is my favorite sushi dining experience in Houston right now. I've been here 3 times, once for my birthday, once for lunch and again last night with a large group to celebrate going to the Madonna concert. Yumi was our waitress last night and she did awesome! I ordered for the table and everyone loved every dish that i chose. The food was so good and picking several dishes family style left everyone satisfied for a really reasonable price! We had a bottle of wine and some cocktails for the table and it totaled out to only ~80 per person which included automatic 20% tip for large party. They did calculate the tip on top of the total + tax and not the subtotal which I had never seen before but that was neither here nor there. I would definitely regularly come back to dine here. I love it

Yelp
We made online reservations for 6:45 on a Saturday night, expecting a crowded restaurant based on previous comments. Surprisingly, the parking lot was empty, and upon entering, only one couple occupied the restaurant. However, as the night progressed, a few more patrons arrived, but the place didn't fill up. The restaurant's decorations exuded a lovely, moody atmosphere--perfect for a first date or a relaxed evening. Opting for the Blanco Roll, we savored its delightful flavors and generous portion of fish. The Philly roll was a bit inconsistent in the fish cuts but didn't disappoint overall. The Yakiniku boasted enticing flavors, though the slaw's yuzu dressing was a tad overpowering. The standout starter was unquestionably the brussel sprouts, bursting with excellent flavor--I'd gladly order them again.

Yelp
Do not judge a book by its cover! Aburi is located in a strip of restaurants in the Greenway plaza area. From the outside, you would never guess that you would be transported to a fine dining establishment with amazingly fresh sushi. Walking in, the restaurant was chic, modern, and elegant. The sushi bar is quite small but the dining area is quite large; it's one of the rare places where you won't feel cramped because the tables are a decent distance apart. The high ceilings and light decor contributes to the openness of this space. We came on a random Tuesday for lunch and it was not busy at all. There is a decently priced 3-course lunch menu, where portions are on the smaller end but makes up for it in the quality and freshness of the food. You can also order off the regular menu if you so choose. I ordered the 3-course lunch: a salad, the chirashi bowl, and the manga panna cotta! On top of that I added 3 pieces of nigiri - Otoro, Salmon Belly and Akami! The salad was tasty with a good dressing. The chirashi bowl was fresh, with a decent selection of fish and the amazingly seasoned sushi rice below. I liked the addition of the seasoned green onions on top - they cut the flavor of the fish and acted like a little palette cleanser. The fish were all fresh and buttery and there was a good selection of it. The meal ended with the tiniest mango panna cotta! The flavors were light and refreshing. I enjoyed it but we all wished there was more! On top of my meal, I added 3 pieces of nigiri - salmon belly, Otoro, and Akami. All buttery, fresh and wonderful bites. Service was alright. Food came out in a decent amount of time but nobody came to check on us and we all waited for a soy sauce dish. We ended up just snagging them from the table next door. I think service can improve a bit, at least for the service we dined. Not bad enough to override the food, ambiance and overall experience. Can't wait to come back! Already telling all my friends about it! The whole table agrees!

Yelp
I'm in love! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was very fresh tasting and I loved the little spin they put n common dishes. My friend joined me and is not typically a big sushi eater, but she loved everything as well. The service was phenomenal. My waitress was able to give me specific recommendations based on my taste profile. The restaurant is super cute! Perfect for a cute photo opportunity. The dress attire was super casual, but I could see myself getting cute for a date night. This will be my new fave for a while and I recently learned that they have HH so new post coming soon!

Yelp
Overpriced but beautiful high-end sushi spot with great service! We made a reservation for Saturday evening. The restaurant had a decent crowd so I would reserve in advance for large parties. They have quite an extensive list of sake and liquor, in addition regular cocktails. Dishes we really liked: - King Salmon & Caramalized Figs (delicious starter that our server recommended! had a perfect tint of sweetness) - Hamachili Roll (favorite roll that was not too heavy) - Aburi Flight The Spring Truffle Roll was heavier than expected, so will probably opt for something else next time. The Aburi on Fire seemed to be a popular entree among our neighboring tables. I will be back one day to try out their happy hour (M-F 4:30-6:30)!

Yelp
Such a posh restaurant! Loved the ambiance. I'm actually very impressed with their plates and silverware. Seems like they really out effort into making this place inviting! The service was great, our waitress was very attentive and always smiling. Their hot tea was served in this nice cast iron pot with matching tea cups. Our favorite was the wagyu fried rice, chef's kiss! It was flavorful and a large serving. Also had the seaweed salad, honey ginger brussel sprouts, salmon sashimi, yuzu shiromi hand roll, house smoked salmon, ebi and uni. Didn't order all that much since we're planning on coming back to try more of their items!

Yelp
Treated myself here to a post work dinner. I sat at the bar so special shot out to Tracey, Cam, and Tim! I ordered the lycheetini and had Tracey and cam decide my other drinks-dealers choice! I ordered the: 1) toro tartare crispy rice with cavier: Bluefin tuna toro tartare, caviar, crispy rice, pickled wasabi, microgreens 2) ahi crudo with quail egg: Tuna, quail egg, shiro dashi, chives, fresh wasabi. It was probably my least favorite item I got. The flavors weren't there for me and it fell short. 3) scallop and foie gras nigiri: one of my favs! Would def order again 4) toro uni cavier: if you like uni this is a must! 5) rainbow spider: legit a marriage of 2 of my favorite rolls. Soft shell crab with raw fish on top. 6) caramel bread pudding: man this was good. Perfect way to end the meal! The restaurant was super cute! I can't wait to come back and try their HH soon!! Come check out this new spot!

Yelp
Aburi is a sushi restaurant that offers a large menu of sushi and other items. The interior is beautiful and spacious and is perfect for an intimate date or gathering with friends. I went during happy hour and got the lychee martini and one of each $4 nigiris on the menu. I also got the shaking wagyu and nigiri plate. The cocktails were delicious and was not too strong. The nigiris were good and tasted fresh, and I really enjoyed the nigiri platter. I definitely recommend going during happy hour when the nigiri pieces are at a better price! The shaking wagyu was also good. However, it tasted like regular bo luc lac (shaking beef), and although the dish was elevated with wagyu meat, I do not think it tasted substantially different or special compared to regular meat. Overall, the cocktails and sushi were delicious and fresh, and the interior is ideal for an intimate dinner. Service was also great, and the server was very attentive, making sure to visit us numerous times. I would definitely visit again and stick to the sushi and cocktails!

Yelp
Dined in on a Friday at 11:30 AM for a part of 4, and were seated immediately. Beautiful restaurant, overpriced, and the food was not impressive. We ordered: Shrimp tempura: good light batter Truffle fries: sad looking presentation, fries are super thin wedges, nothing special Shiromi yuza salsa: sauce was good but the fish was questionable Honey ginger brussel sprouts: very good flavors Hamachi Kama: good and fresh Toro tartare crispy rice w/ caviar: disappointing, the rice had a powdery gritty taste Aburi sushi flight: 2/3 fish was good Seared toro hand roll: very good A5 wagyu: good Scallop and foie gras: very good Yellowtail belly: basic Salmon belly: basic Chopped scallop not spicy: good

Yelp
Aburi Sushi was perfect for happy hour! We came as a party of 4 on a Fri at 5pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. I will say the dinner rush was coming in just as we were leaving though. HH is Mon - Fri 4:30 - 6:30pm. Walking in, this place is really nice! The place has a very modern, sleek, clean look to it. The hostess, Jenny, was very friendly and sat us immediately. Then our server, Sheyla, was very welcoming. She gave us a lot of great recommendations on different things to try. This particular visit, we pretty much tried everything on the HH menu. Drinks: Sake bombs. You can never go wrong there. Their hot sake is actually a lot better tasting than your typical hot sake, you can tell they use a higher quality option. My beer of choice is kirin light. Also get their old fashioned on the HH menu, really good! Food: There was nothing on the HH menu we didn't like! The most notable items were the truffle fries, each of the $4 nigiri pieces, spring truffle roll, and the ahi tower. Everything was very fresh, 10/10 would recommend. While we came for a fun HH on this particular visit, I would definitely come back here for a nice date night. The rest of the menu sounded really good. They have all my favorites like A5 wagyu, otoro, uni, and more. There's plenty of hot dishes too if sushi isn't your thing. Cheers! Can't wait to come back again soon!

Yelp
Really really good place. I love how they brightened it up from the former occupant. Walking in you are immediately greeted by the host standing near the bar at the entrance. We had a reservation for four at 12 noon on a Tuesday. There were plenty of open tables but more guests poured in during the lunch hour. Our table all chose the Daily Sushi Special which is 3 pieces of dressed sushi served with a special daily roll (chef's choice). It came with soup or salad and chocolate mousse or mango dessert. I chose the salad topped with ginger dressing and it was fresh & crisp. The rest of my table ordered the miso soup and all said it was very good! The fish was very fresh and the roll was wonderful too! I look forward to many more lunches here. Will be back as soon as possible! And will try out the social hour soon!

Yelp
Great meal tonight! Service was very attentive and personable! Awesome vibe! Management very involved. Bartenders Cam and Taylor the best!

Yelp
This place is replacing another sushi place very close to my office.........and I am a sushi addict/aficionado!! I'll try sushi anywhere, any time! Took a fellow employee who is also a sushi nut. Very pleasant remodel, although I found the chairs uncomfortable. Let me cut to the chase.......high quality fish, rice not flavorful, small portions and waaaay too expensive. Service was just okay. Our server was a young kid who was not very communicative and made some wrong assumptions. Too many really good sushi places high-end and mid-range that are a much better value.
google avatar

Yelp
First time trying this place out and loved it! The atmosphere was very cozy perfect for a date night. Service was really good and the server was very nice. Sushi was delicious!

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends during their soft opening phase which is still going on as of now I believe! Lovely space, for starters, the decor and ambiance are very chic and cozy. You feel right at home if you had a rich home lol. Service was very good! Some things took a bit more time to come than I would have expected but the staff was very nice and helpful with recommendations. As for the food, we ordered a lot to really get to try the dinner menu across 7 people. Solid 4/5 for me, which, is quite the feat for a new sushi restaurant in Houston. Personally I like the nigiri over their rolls. The customized aburi nigiri pieces are quite delicious in particular, and they've got those flavors nailed down! The sizes are a little smaller than you'd expect however the rice to fish ratio is great! I recommend the seared snapper, the A5 wagyu and the scallop and foie gras. Holy trinity right there! Those melt in your mouth. Some of our fav apps were the truffle fries, brusell sprouts and the chili edemame. We ended with the delicious bread pudding which was a 5/5!! Overall a solid place for being this fresh and I can't wait to see how they grow. They've already got the look and the ambiance down. As mentioned before some things took a while longer than expected but as this is a new place and seemingly already packed on a weeknight, I'm sure they are working those kinks of being busy out. Lastly, their drinks are strong, set to a price of 15$ for most cocktails. They also have large sized sake bottles that are very affordable and shareable. Would love to return here again and try more things.

Yelp
Vegetarian review: Cannot say enough about the butter cake!!! Also the chocolate at the bottom of the creme brulee Brussel sprouts were perfect. And the rice that came with the yasai kinoko tofu..slightly creamy wow. Fries had great crisp but got a little heavy towards the end. Get the unagi sauce!
google avatar

Lourdes P.

Yelp
So good! We went for happy hour and everything was perfect. We will definitely be back! Their truffle fries and nigiri are so so good! We loved everything from the food to the service to the vibes of the whole restaurant.

Yelp
Came here with my fiancé for a date night and had such an enjoyable dinner. The interior is very modern and clean. We came on a weekday so it wasn't busy at all. Our servers were also very tentative and personable. We asked if we could do an omakase (it's not on the menu) and were so happy Chef David could accommodate us. He showed off all the best that Aburi has to offer and we were so so full by the end. I think my favorite bites included the uni, amaebi, and shaking wagyu. The foi gras was also to die for. We also had dessert which included the bread pudding and butter cake. Wowowow, they were so so good. I forgot to take pictures but we are definitely coming back and I can't wait to see Aburi's presence grow in Houston!
google avatar

Joanna Q.

Yelp
WOW--consider this my top favorite sushi restaurant right now. I cannot stop coming here!! The first time my boyfriend and I came here, it was a weekday and we ordered a hefty amount of nigiri including, unagi, hamachi, spicy chopped scallops, chutoro, scallop foie gras, toro uni caviar, and the shaved foie gras amberjack piece. Each of these pieces were presented absolutely beautifully and tasted so delicious and fresh. My absolute favorite are the foie gras pieces: so, so yummy! Every single piece of seafood we have here melts in our mouth and tastes so, so good. We also shared the chili garlic edamame and it is so good, I definitely recommend it. Inside, there is a bar area and a main dining area. We were seated in the main dining area and I loved the open space. The interior decoration was so fun to look at while waiting for our food. The bathroom was also spotless and nicely organized. For drinks, I ordered the Touri Southside. It tasted sweet and crisp, with the cucumber garnish complementing the drink well. The service here is always fast and most of their employees are amazing and super nice. The host, Frederick, is awesome and we always look forward to seeing him. See you soon Aburi!
google avatar

Carolina B.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! Despite being in a strip center that has iffy luck for businesses (RIP Cafe Express, among others), Aburi is seriously some of the best sushi in this city! And what's great about it is, it's a more casual ambience. We walked in last minute, dressed in jeans and tennis shoes, and were served quickly. Everything is fresh and delicious, and the prices are reasonable compared to your high-end fancier sushi restaurants, though we did spend almost $200 for 2 people. That included 2 alcoholic beverages (lychee martini is so good!), A5 Wagyu, scallop & foie gras, king salmon, hamachi, rainbow spider roll, pork egg roll, and an absolutely amazing dessert--chocolate mousse. Minimal, modern, chic decor. And plenty of parking! Yay!
google avatar

Keila S.

Yelp
I'm 100% sure they are flying fresh fish EVERYSINGLEDAY . If you are knowledgeable about sushi and know about food this is the spot to be able to enjoy quality food.
google avatar

Thien T.

Yelp
GNO on a Saturday night! I have to say I love restaurants in Houston that are located in a parking lot that is FREE and easily accessible. No stress about parking. Once I entered the restaurant you are welcomed by a hostess and it is located right next to the bar. Btw, you can eat and drink at the bar if you wanted. They sat us down and took our drink orders quickly. The restaurant is pretty new and just opened so it wasn't very crowded. Great lighting, not too dark and definitely not too loud where you gotta scream across the table. The food was delicious and the price is pretty reasonable. Fish was fresh, drinks were on point. Must try date night , dinner with family or friends. It's pretty casual so you can wear jeans or shorts and of course dress up if you like.
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Overall, all the food we had was tasty, albeit a bit pricey compared to other places I've been with similar quality. I loved torched sushi, so I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw the signage from the freeway. It didn't disappoint! The space itself and decor is beautiful, which is the first thing you notice when you walk in. The fish was fresh and well seasoned. I would come back for a special occasion, but this place is a bit much for me on the regular.
google avatar

Benedict B.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with a party of three. The place wasn't busy at all. The restaurant had plenty of natural light during day time. We started with the very tender peppered calamari and the honey ginger Brussel sprouts. We each had the aburi flight then shared a rainbow spider (my standout), lox roll and the aburi on fire. Pretty hip and instagrammable joint.
google avatar

Crystal John K.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Food was fresh & amazing presentation. Everything was amazing and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Aburi sushi, boasts not only some Of the BEST Sushi in all of Houston... Their customer service and their Spicy Miso Ramen, are unquestionably the best!!I've had the pleasure of getting ramen a lot of places in Houston, as well as in California and NY. Three states that have been deemed Mecas in the culinary space! This Ramen, is undefeated. I assure you, you'll struggle to remember having had a better bowl of Ramen, than their spicy miso ramen!! Man.... I think I need to go get another bowl.
google avatar

Sidra N.

Yelp
Had a fantastic dining experience at the new sushi spot! The ambiance was top-notch, and the presentation of dishes was a feast for the eyes. Standouts were the Brussels sprouts and walnut shrimp--absolute must-tries. The fried rice was enjoyable but could use a kick of spice. Sushi was solid, though not mind-blowing. The croissant bread pudding stole the show, and a free dessert for a friend's birthday was a sweet touch!
google avatar

Huyen P.

Yelp
I have to admit that I was afraid dinner was going to be disappointing because of the outside of the restaurant. It's located in a shopping center and looks like a regular restaurant from the outside. However, once you walk inside you will be pleasantly surprise. The interior is very contemporary and the food is amazing. I don't think there was a dish we tried that we didn't enjoy. We even enjoyed the Hamachi Ota Ika, shiromi yuzu salsa, and gyoza so much that we ordered seconds. This place will definitely be visited again.

Yelp
Lovely staff, beautiful ambiance, food yummy! Tomkatsu noodles need a bit more flavoring, eveything else was fantastic

Alwyn B.

Yelp
Everything I've had here was so good! I tried mostly their aburi style sushi. Their aburi chirashi was very nicely presented. Different from your typical looking chirashi out there. The aburi scallop nigiri was a mouthful and worth each morsel! Along with the smoked salmon and Japanese snapper. 10/10 would recommend! Love the interior too! Looks like I'm in the belly of a whale but chic. Nice ambiance. Service was great.

Yelp
Amazing! Everything was great. Blown away by the flavors and the quality of everything. Ready to see this go far! Gorgeous interior as well.

Yelp
I couldn't get into Kata R for lunch and came upon this little surprise. Highly enjoyed their Chefs sushi lunch....the nigiri and rolls were already dressed and the blow torch signature preparation is

Yelp
vibes and drinks were 5.0 cooked items were tasty like the shaking wagyu appetizers were good crudos were my fav i personally prefer the sashimi
google avatar

Jocelyn Q.

Yelp
Sad to say that it wasn't worth it for the price. Service was great, not a problem there. The restaurant is actually very nice inside. But there's no way they were charging what they were for the food we got. Our Aburi nigiris we're late as if forgotten about and they weren't anything special unfortunately. The hamachi Kama was a very tiny portion size. My husband's eel nigiri was burnt. I didn't care much for the cocktails either.. There are better high end sushi restaurants that make you feel your money was worth it to go to. I gave 3 stars cause it's not bad at all but again I'd much rather spend that same money on a better place..

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekday but honestly not my cup of tea. Aesthetically, the restaurant itself is beautiful. Seating can be awkward for bigger parties since it is mostly tables of 4 and 2 but I'm sure they can accommodate bigger parties. Service was pretty attentive but unfortunately my main grievances are with the food which left me feeling dissatisfied. The sushi rice itself for every roll and nigiri piece just didn't taste seasoned enough. The quality of the seafood is good but execution wasn't there for me, which was disappointing given the price point. The amaebi only had the tobiko as garnish and it ate weirdly given no nikiri/house seasoned soy was brushed on. So the nigiri would've fall apart if I had dipped the piece in soy. The foie gras nigiri had a balsamic glaze but I wasn't a fan given how sweet it is. Not worth $12. The King Salmon crudo which pays homage to the restaurants namesake unfortunately just ate weird. The salmon was torched but the sauce and other garnishes were oddly room temp. Wasn't sure if it was purposeful but wasn't a fan of that or the mixed greens to occupy space. The Hamachili roll was decent and the lack of seasoning in the rice wasn't as noticeable. The only redeeming dish was the mango panna cotta. Side note rest of the menu seemed odd because it didn't even seem modern Japanese but more like an Asian menu with Japanese influence and sushi (i.e. they had Vietnamese and Chinese items like shaken beef and lemongrass pork vermicelli bowls) Overall, personally not for me. It is pricey and as of right now, not worth the price point given the myriad of other upscale sushi places in the area. Hopefully the execution of the food can improve

Yelp
Service was amazing. Sushi was super fresh, and I'm picky with my sushi, anything with truffle in it was amazing and ambience is cool for a date

Yelp
I was visiting from New York and craving good sushi. Aburi blew me away! Food and vibes were immaculate. Everything was super fresh and the presentation was beautiful. Loved the overall aesthetic of the restaurant and everyone was really warm and welcoming. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Was in the area shopping and my sister & I were looking on yelp for a sushi place to eat and saw really good reviews about this place and decided to try it! Let me say we are so glad we tried this place, we ordered the honey ginger Brussels sprouts and shiromi yuzu salsa to start and we were mind blown at how delicious these appetizers are! Not even the main dishes yet! For sushi, we ordered the hamachili our server recommended and this roll did not disappoint. Sushi pieces we ordered was the scallop & foie Gras & the A5 wagyu! The scallop & foie Gras just melts in your mouth, we wanted more! Then next we got the wagyu potato, so so delicious. Finishing off with the bread pudding and even tho we were so full, we made sure to make room for dessert! We will definitely be returning to aburi! Such an amazing experience! The service was impeccable and the food presentation was amazing.

Full bar with knowledgeable bartenders what a great addition to the neighborhood! We will definitely become regulars! Try their Hawaiian poke don for lunch you won't regret it! 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Went to Aburi Sushi and it surpassed my expectations. The food is amazing, atmosphere is awesome and the service was great. We had the scallop & Foie Gras which was a 10/10! All the cuts of fish were amazing! We had the Aburi Flight and then on to the Blanco roll and the Rainbow Spider! It was the perfect crunch and consistency. The Shaking wagyu and the wagyu and potato were incredible. Also Probably the best Spicy miso ramen I've ever had. Had the sashimi cuts , super big slices and out of this world fresh ! They also have Kazami(pickled wasabi) and great grated wasabi! Which is a game changer if you haven't had it. I loved the Dark chocolate creme brûlée !! Overall an amazing experience from beginning to the end

Yelp
Disappointed, waitress was sooo nice but the food was eh. Ordered the Gulf of Texas roll it was a 3/10. It was cold and the meat had a weird flavor. Also meat in the rice was burnt I'll give it a 5/10 flavor had potential. The pot stickers were the best part of the meal. The crème brûlée wasn't chilled enough. Service overall was good, the food just wasn't what I expected. Will not return.
