Acadia Provisions

We just happened upon this place while driving to Acadia, and I have to say it surpassed any expectations I had for "butcher shop that has sandwiches". Seriously had one of the best Reuben paninis ever. And as far as the butcher shop, the quality and selection is impressive. Same for the rest of the general store. And yes, there are tables you can sit at to enjoy the awesome sandwiches. Beer (bottles and draft) and soda available, too. Highly recommended!

This a great shop for local foods! I went to get my fix of Fiore’s vinegars and oils. I didn’t expect that they would have the option to taste, which made my experience even better! Above all, the staff are fantastic, customer-centered, knowledgeable and kind! Shout out to Matt and Jordon who took great care of me!

Love this place! Everyone is super friendly and very helpful. Lots of variety and great meats.

The meats look great and probably will be delicious, but the service in the meat section was pretty poor. I was also hoping for some local produce, but they only carry shelf stable items.

Amazing quality food, and very interesting selection not found at typical stores!!! Well worth the trip if your into fresh, high end food ideas!!! Probably the best fresh steaks in the area that I know of!!!

Great selection of steaks and essential groceries. The quality of meat is the reason why I went there. If you need quality steaks including wagyu steaks this place is the one to visit.

I had a fantastic lunch and was truly impressed by the delicious fish tacos! I can't wait to return for more of those delightful flavors.

The friendly staff are always eager to help with recommendations and their passion for quality products truly shines through. Whether I'm picking up a charcuterie board for a gathering or simply stocking up on locally sourced goodies, Acadia Provisions never disappoints. Place is great! The only place around to get high quality meat, chicken, and fish. I've been in many times and the service has always been friendly and attentive. Keep your eye on their social media for delicious daily lunch specials. A+++

Had kind of a bad first impression here. Tried to order a sandwich. Had to be somewhere in 90 minutes. Sandwich guy says he's backed up 25 minutes. Don't see anyone else waiting for sandwiches. All they have is one premade type of sandwich. I just wanted a little more consideration. Feels like dude wearing headphones working sandwich counter doesn't have customer in mind.

we stopped here to buy scallops and steaks. The scallops were great and we paid for prime boneless ribeyes. What was supposed to be prime ribeyes were probably choice New York strips. The butcher didn't have any in the meat case but said he could cut us some. When we came back to the meat case he had them cut and wrapped and I guess I was stupid to not have asked to see the steaks. But we were charged about $65 for 2 steaks that weren't worth a fraction of that. So disappointing and we will not go back there.

Grocery/Whole Foods meets deli type place. Great sandwiches made to order or pre-made. Side salads and goodies to go with sandwiches. Clean store and courteous, friendly staff.

Should be a nice store, but the young staff is very poorly trained. They don't seem to know about their products, can't answer questions, and acted aloof and uninterested. Asked why the price we were charged for a pie was $2 more than what it said on the package, the one ringing it up said, "I dunno. I don't have anything to do with that." We tried to get someone's attention at the Deli to buy some cheese, but they couldn't be bothered to speak to us, and when they did they didn't know anything about what was in the display case. When we asked for some cheese spread (clearly labeled as such) she said, "we don't have anything like that." Even when I pointed at it, all she could say was, "you want that?" Apparently nobody is training the workers in how to interact with customers.

This is a great small grocery store with a real butcher onsite and lots of high end really nice products. We got some yummy brats, nice mustard, fresh local sourkraut, and a nice head of romaine lettuce. We are going back for the bone in pork chops. P.S. I read the other reviews and FYI: they advided us when we commented on the nice looking steaks and chops that they just hired a new butcher so perhaps the sandwiches will improve. We didn't go for sandwiches.

Boars Head conducts! Sandwiches made to order and there are tables available. Lots to choose from as fair as a beverage goes.

Great store with great deli selections, unique items and a convenient location on the main road in Ellsworth making getting in and out easy.

We came here to provision for a day of hiking. Not sure if this is typical, but they didn't make sandwiches to order- you have to select one of a handful of choices of pre-packaged sandwiches. They were fresh and tasty enough, but nothing memorable. There was a good selection of chips and packaged treats to take on the road. All was perfectly good and met our needs, I just expected something a little more special based on previous reviews.

Only one star if you're going to get a sandwich/sub from the deli bread is not fresh/local, is mushy and undercooked. Ordered Italian sub and the casing was still on the salami after they sliced it and put it in the sandwich. Asked for hot peppers got bell pepper slices instead. Went there last year and had an excellent sub. Guess the new deli help needs to do an internship at subway Or other franchise sub shop to learn how to put a sandwich together

Friendly and Helpful Staff. Bears head Deli, Grass Fed meats, fresh seafood and a wide variety of natural, organic and local products. Small cafe with made to order sandwiches, grab and go items and daily specials. A great place to stop on the way to Bar Harbor!

We stopped in for a sandwich to take on our hike up Acadia Mountain this morning. This is the cutest shop ever! The service was extremely prompt, friendly and the sandwiches we're amazing! Some of the best we've had. They have a lot of organic foods as well as an on site butcher. We will definitely be back. My only suggestion would be to have a sign out front. The sides of the building are marked clearly.

Definitely not a grocery store. Sort of a gourmet health food store/ butcher. Expensive and limited selection.

I drive by this place everyday and finally stopped in today, while it looks nice,looks can be deceiving. While waiting for the deli girl to finish making a sandwich and take my order, her apparent friend walks in, walks to the front of the line and she takes his order instead...I was like okay guess my money is no good here and left. Aside from all that the sandwich selection is weak, your basic run of the mill sandwiches , no creativity whatsoever. Their Italian sub ,like every other place in Maine is not even close to what a real italian sub is, geez people in this day and age of the internet its not that hard to look it up!! And what kind of deli with a butcher shop does not have bacon on any of the sandwiches?? The kind i'll never go back to that's for sure, and I eat out everyday

Excellent selection of fresh meats and great gourmet provisions. Loved the olive oil and vi what bar which you can sample before you buy. Excellent fresh baguette as well.

What a great place for quality meat and more. I had no idea it was also a grocery store. Great location.
