Acapulco

During our five-day vacation in California in early April 2025, my wife and I stayed at a nearby hotel. On our first night, we asked the concierge for local dining recommendations, and he suggested Acapulco. It was just a short two-block walk, so we strolled over and I’m so glad we did. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, the prices were a great value, and the service was genuinely attentive. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up dining there three out of our five nights. A quick tip: check out their daily specials. Even though the prices are low, the portions remain impressively large. Acapulco was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

It's been almost 20 years since I've been to an Acapulco, and nothing has really changed. Service was great, food and drinks were fine. Portions are really big and it's a decent value. The place is comfortable enough, if a little old. Biggest complaint is how incredibly salty the food was. It will keep me from coming back.

This restaurant serves very great food and drinks. I had a street taco with steak. The waiter Jesus M is very funny and adds to the positivity of the atmosphere. This is a great place to celebrate a retirement for a friend. First time in California. I will be back again. Price range starts at $20 for a decent meal.

We were in Glendale for work, but I scoped out this place before I even got on the plane and was so excited to try the food after seeing the menu and reviews. We throughly enjoyed our drinks and the street taco bar. I’m from the Midwest originally and live on the East Coast now, I’ve never enjoyed Mexican food this much before. Great job!!

Really wonderful. Theirs had always been the best salsa ever, and they're seafood enchiladas are still great. Also fantastic margaritas. Acapulco is my #1 or #2 place to visit whenever I return to LA. Acapulco has always allowed any combination - on a recent visit I got a shredded beef enchilada and a Baja fish taco.. no questions asked, they just did it.

I love the food, the drinks, and the vibe. Mango margaritas, 10.99 fajitas special, and great service... you can't go wrong. I used to come for their brunch, and now I come for the fajitas and the chips and salsa. Just writing this review made me want to go back. 🤣😂

I loved Paco he was the best server ever! I went to eat alone and he was so attentive super helpful was always checking up on me the service was amazing ! He made my night and had great energy ! Montana was a great bartender as well made good drinks !

Luis was excepcional ! We came to celebrate what would have been our dad's 86th birthday (a former employee of Acapulco in Atwater village (23years) .. Luis remembered him and was kind enough to sing happy birthday to him with the staff! Thank you, Luis for making this day so memorable !!! We Will be back !!

Came in for Brunch, and had the best experience! The food was amazing! Our server Sergio was the best! When they say bottomless Mimosas, BELEVE EM! The restaurant is so clean and beautiful, w live mariachi For sure coming back!!

It's been a long time for what ever reason. Nice to be back. It's always a good sign seeing a couple of the long term regular employees. The place is festive with nice music and the dining room is festive in it's coloring! I had a three item combo, it was good, the shredded beef taco was actually small chunks of beef and seemed "fatty" the Chile relleno and chicken taco were both good. We also ordered Carnitas which was always a favorite here. It was an ample portion and happily very lean, it was good. Service was ok, the great part was seeing long term busser/friend Alex! What a friendly great guy! We'll be back.

We love coming to The Pulc for happy hour! The staff is awesome (we love Manuel!) , the food is delicious (and well priced!) We always have a good time! Definitely take advantage of their rewards program-- points are easy to rack up, and you get a free entree for your birthday! Today was extra special-- our server was Elvis and he went above and beyond when he found out we were celebrating a birthday! He's also the resident flan maker, so this guy deserves extra kudos for making such a delicious dessert! Thanks, Acapulco! We'll be seeing you again very soon!

I got my seafood trio order to-go. Was very appreciative of how carefully it was packed. With cellophane wrapping not just on the food container but also the sauce. It kept the food warm until I got to my destination. Thumbs up on taste, and portion was big enough for two. Would recommend this over the dry steak that I got last time. Cashier and manager were really nice and accommodating on a Wednesday evening. I don't live near this area but the happy hour menu makes me want to come back for some drinks in the near future.

I highly recommend coming to Acapulco!! Their happy hour prices are amazing and it's every day from 3pm-8pm!! I love getting their chicken quesadilla because it's filling for one person and it's super cheap. Service here is a plus. They're fast and efficient and really cater to your needs, even when they're busy. There's plenty of parking in their lot as well.

Acapulco is absolutely nostalgic to me and I'm so glad Glendale still has one! From the chips and salsa to the margaritas to the fajitas, everything tastes amazing here! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Food is always fresh and hot, and the portions are generous. On certain days they have deals like Margarita Mondays and happy hour. Reasonably priced too! Even when it's busier on a weekend dinner night, the service is still fast. Please add Acapulco to your list of places to try, it will not disappoint.

Chicken Tortilla soup, warmed our tummies as the temps got cooler. A shot of brandy for me, pumpkin bread pudding for her. Didn't have a to go cup for lemonade.

Fun, nostalgic vibe! Service was great, the food was brought out within minutes. We really enjoyed their tacos, as well as fajitas, the chips and salsa were tasty and so were the margaritas. Large restaurant with plenty of seating, great vibe, generous portions, and a good variety on their menu. Great option if you are looking for a no-frills fun family meal, ideal for large parties as well!

Excellent service. We really liked our server Patrick 'Byron'. As it was happy hour, we did some drinks and appetizers. Guac is on point. The chipotle sauce that came with the taquitos was excellent. The carne asada and cheese fries were very good and the flight of margaritas really hit the spot. Come taste and experience for yourselves. Btw the restaurant is very cozy and energetic!

While we were visiting friends nearby itcwas decided we should dinner at this establishment, as it was close to our hotel and right off the highway. Once there, our party of five made reservations; it was about a 20 minute wait. No problem; they had seating inside. A family member and I sat outside. The outdoor bar area had a TV running the seats were comfortable as well, as it was a nice night out, so why not? When we got to our table, we ordered our food. They had a Burrito - Gigante, and I choose the Asada Burrito. Desert came in the form of an order of Deep Fried Ice Cream, which was a delight. Our server for the evening was Paco C; and although he was attentive, it seemed like he was one of the only servers out there, short staffed? Maybe. The place is great for larger groups, as well as smaller ones.

The customer service is incredible. Montana, Manny, and Carlos are attentive to detail and customer satisfaction. Dahlia is extremely responsive to customer feedback and food quality. She is definitely a manager on the rise. I enjoy the fun atmosphere, music, and sports entertainment at the bar. The prices are very reasonable in comparison to many other restaurants in the area. Another notable mention, Cano (Chef) makes sure that the food is served hot.

Took my family for Sunday Brunch. We were greeted immediately by the very friendly hostess and seated right away. Our server welcomed us and took our drink orders. He checked on us the entire time we were there and cleared our plates constantly and made sure to check if we needed beverage refills. There were a lot of options and I did notice staff walking around and checking that all the food items were presentable and the areas were tidy and clean. I would come back again and try the $6 drinks, but if you're not a drinker, the abuelita hot chocolate is yummy!

Sad news Acapulco will be closing due to being sold to a private family business called IN n OUT! ( employee gave us the news) Upon our arrival, Acapulco seemed rather busy. you could tell they were short staffed. We cam after a long day at universal studios Hollywood. I'm not so sure if it was due to short staffing but the serves took our drink order and then let us know that he would be bringing is another soda with that because he ( implied) we would ask for refills. I want to say i appreciated the anticipated need but it was the way that he went about it that really just left us with a not so good impression. Mind you it may just have been an overwhelming day for him. fast forward to taking our orders... i would like to say that majority of our party ordered their queso birria tacos, a seafood dish and a chimichanga. now he wrote it down on paper which was fine but somehow back in the kitchen the paper was lost and well after 45min of waiting he came back to tell us that the order was never fired ( submitted) and that he had to take our order again. about 15 mins later we started to get some of our food.. come to find out the seafood dish was burned and so that took another 15 mins. the server then offered to waive two dinner plates from the order. he comes back with the last dish and he offered us a guacamole ( on the house which we took and a dessert also on the house, to which we declined the dessert) 2hrs later and we are wrapping up our dinner. we asked for to go boxes and all was well until we received the check. the 2 dinner plates that he mentioned were not removed. did we make a big deal.. no but were were even more dissatisfied. we just wanted to get out of there already. service was not great and well we did not feel taken care of. I wish they would have left us missing this place and wanting to come back for more but that was not the case.

My best friend and I were hungry and decided to go get drinks and food! Paco was awesome, food and service was awesome!! Coming again!

Been a regular here for decades, first in person & delivery. Miss the weekday lunch buffet since the pandemic started. Switched to delivery then. But we like to go to the restaurant because the service is top-notch ~ our regular server knows what we like!

I've come here a few times, and it never disappoints! Paco gas has been our server several times, and he always has the best attitude and is always so helpful to make good recommendations. We have tried the streak ams shrimp fajitas with rice and beans, and it is simply amazing! The refried beans are covered by melted cheese, and the shrimp and steak fajitas always arrive sizzlingnto perfected with onion and bell peppers. The grilled onions are soft and full of flavor! The warm tortillas are a perfect pair when they come fresh off the comal. If you're used to a small starter, then the tortilla chips with fresh salsa are a hit. They arrive at the table sizzling warm! Or maybe you're craving something more filling. The chicken tortilla soup is full of flavor and comes in different sizes to get you going. The facility is conveniently located right off the 134 off the Pacific exit, and there's so much parking . Street parking is always an option as well. There's outside patio seating for brunches or for the summer night dinners , or you can come inside. There are tables , booths and a bar! Wherever you choose to sit, you're sure to have a good time. The games are always playing on the televisions by the bar, or you can take yourself to acapulco with the Mexican music playing. Whatever you choose, you're guaranteed a good time full of flavor , so come on down for your next dinner date.

Seriously the best restaurant on the planet! Amazing food and atmosphere. I've been coming every week for almost 15 years. Everyone treats us like family. I hope it never closes.

Came in here with some friends and everything was great. I was reading about Paco to my friends and we wondered if our server was Paco... and it was! He was great. Attentive but not annoying. Food was good and came out fast. Parking lot in the back. I ordered the bbq chicken tostada. Delicious!

My girlfriend and I come here regularly during happy hour (3pm - 8pm), and it never disappoints! The service is consistently amazing--the staff always checks in to make sure you're comfortable and don't need anything else. They're quick with orders, though it can be a bit slower on busy Fridays, which is understandable. The ambiance really sets the tone, making it feel like you're at a lively fiesta, which adds to the whole experience. Now, let's talk about the food..it's fantastic! I highly recommend their Mexican Pizza, it's absolutely delicious and a must-try. The chicken quesadilla is another standout super cheesy with perfectly tender chicken. The nachos are also excellent, with fresh, crispy chips. The chicken taquito was just okay, but everything else more than made up for it.

Went on a lunch date with my hubby. I hadn't been to any Acapulco lately but I'm glad we did. We had the lunch special for $9.99 which was the enchiladas suizas. They were delicious. They did bring us fresh chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. Place wasn't too busy. Our server was very attentive. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Had to have a Cadillac margarita for old times sake!!

I wanted chicken fajitas rice and beans and this location delivered great service great taste and fantastic price with drink specials every day of the week. I would recommend this location for Good Spanish food

The food was DELICIOUS. The staff are the BEST... Valerie and Patrick, both very attentive. The vibe is chill and the menu is extensive. 10/10 recommended.

It had been years since we had been able to come and it did not disappoint! Paco, our waiter, was an absolute doll! Made the tasty experience all the more fun!

The service here is phenomenal. I've been here more than five times in the past year, and every visit feels like being greeted with open arms. We usually come during happy hour because it's such a great deal for the food. One of the staff members actually recommended one of our go-to items--the Skillet Nachos. At just $6 (a few bucks more if you add asada), it's easily the best value on the menu. We almost never finish it in one sitting. I also really enjoy the chicken quesadilla and chicken taquitos, though they're on the smaller side, so I usually order a few. The ceviche tostada is okay, but nothing standout. While I don't drink much alcohol, I did enjoy the Acapulco Sunset--it's super sweet and masks the alcohol well. My friends, on the other hand, rave about the signature margarita, and the rest of the happy hour drinks seem like great deals. From the main menu, I've tried the Flaming Fajitas Gigante, which is solid but not something I'd go out of my way to order. The Birria Tacos are overrated in my opinion--I'd prefer to grab those from a good street stand. The Burrito Gigante, however, is amazing! Just a pro tip: get the salsa on the side instead of making it a wet burrito--I'm not a fan of soggy burritos. And of course, I have to mention the bottomless chips and salsa. They're so addictive that I usually down two servings before the food even arrives. Overall, this place nails it with amazing service, great happy hour deals, and a few standout dishes. I'll definitely keep coming back!

Service - 5/5 : our waiter was absolutely great. He was attentive and kind! He made sure we had everything we needed and could want! I couldn't have been happier and same goes for my party! Food - 5/5 : great food and good prices! I love their happy hour menu! I wasn't able to get all my friends food but they enjoyed it! Losing a star because of this city mandated surcharge! Customers SHOULD NOT have to pay for this charge for their employees to get health insurance! The owner needs to do better and provide this automatically. I say this not knowing the rules for Glendale but I do not agree with it.

Decent food, good service, but out dated restaurant. There aren't many acapulco's left but they are nostalgic to me. The food is okay. Much better Mexican food elsewhere but still give this 4 stars overall. Portions match the price. Love the table side guac as well. Chips are thin and crispy and their salsa is mild so don't be shy to dig in! Deserts are a must! Can't go wrong with the Oreo torta is amazing! So is the flan and deep fried ice cream. Restaurant decor is a bit outdated but still clean.

Me encanta ir a este restaurante, siempre todo muy delicioso! Pedi el mucho macho appetizer y me gusta que tiene tanta variedad. Y lo mejor de este restaurante es el servicio, muy bien servicio de parte de los managers, los empleados- en especial de Sergio quien siempre nos atiende muy bien y nos recommienda que comer. Definitivamente uno de los mejores restaurantes

If you love good authentic Mexican food you have to visit Acapulco Restaurant - good food, excellent customer service, nice atmosphere with outside seating too And the icing on the cake that made our visit even MORE SPECIAL was our outstanding server Paco!! Paco gave a very friendly & warm greeting from the second we walked in the door & he made sure that we had everything we needed for an enjoyable dining experience! I will definitely be back soon - and I'll ask for Paco!!

Mother's Day Brunch Disappointment..... I made reservations 3 weeks ago for a party of 13 and asked if we are able to order off the regular menu if no one wanted the brunch and they surely said yes we can. The reservations was for 12:30pm and they had us waited til 2pm to get seated. Once we got seated , they told us they are not taking orders from the regular menu,only Brunch which is $42 each. So 3 people in our party did not eat because of that and the waiter still tried to charged them. Well I ate and the food the meat was cold and the enchiladas were not fresh but everything else was ok. That why some of us wanted the regular menu because the brunch food was sitting out there for too long. Very disappointing.........

Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves Mexican food. We ordered the table side guacamole, tacos vampiros, fish tacos, kids chicken fajitas, and kids pizza. Star of the show was definitely the guacamole. It was the best. Service was great. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was very spacious and offered regular tables and booths. One of the best things - ample parking!

I was greeted by Valerie, the sweetest host who made me laugh and feel welcome right away. My server, Sophia, did an amazing job, and the seven dollar Cadillac margaritas were a highlight. On my way out, Delia struck up a kind conversation that made me feel right at home. Great team, great vibes, and a really enjoyable experience.

I've been a customer for 40 years and the service has always been amazing . Erica is a great waitress and Juanita the manager is the best. The front host is well welcoming . Best restaurant and ambience 10/10

As part of introducing culture through food, we brought 62 hungry 8th graders to Acapulco for a special taco lunch today, and the experience was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly accommodating and well-prepared to serve such a large group. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was a hit with all the students. Many of them were trying Mexican cuisine for the first time, and they left with happy faces and full stomachs. The tacos were flavorful and fresh, and the restaurant created a welcoming atmosphere that made it a fun and memorable experience for everyone. Thank you, Acapulco, for helping us introduce a new culture through great food! If I could, I would rate them 10 stars for the food and amazing service!

I've been going to Acapulco for over two decades as a child and it has always been in my family tradition to come here for happy hour and birthday celebrations. Since most of the locations closed down, this is where I go. Though I don't go often since the one on Northridge has been closed for some few years now, I go to Glendale location. The food is always good and the other night everything was tasty and made freshly! The salsa, tostada Del Mar, and my Cadillac margarita was very bomb! The salsa was good and made me addictive I couldn't stop eating. Also, I ordered a small side of guac and it Was delicious too! The service is always cool, been going here so we know most of the managers and the seasoned waiters. Very attentive customer service and the food is not a long wait! The ambiance is perfect! They have a nice outside patio for dining, bar area, and spacious seating inside. Overall, I'll consider Acapulco! Decent deals, and they have Monday and Thursday happy hour, taco Tuesday, and their popular weekend brunch many love going to! The food is good, been around for a while and exceptional customer service. I would say come here for happy hour or eating with you co workers or friends after work or a birthday celebration. They have they own parking lot! It's plenty of parking no doubt. -Marshay D.

If you're planning to visit Glendale Acapulco, do yourself a favor and ask for Paco! Our group came last Saturday. He is hands-down the best server here. From the moment we walked in, Paco made sure we were seated right away, which was perfect because we didn't want to miss out on happy hour. He's attentive, friendly. Paco truly goes above and beyond. We'll definitely be coming back--and only asking for Paco!

my Girl Scout troop celebrated our arrival in Cali with a wonderful dinner here. it was a great start to our trip with delicious food, amazing service, and friendly staff. Paco took such good care of us. We were well-fed and happy after a long trip from Colorado. people comment on the ambience in a negative way way but I quite enjoyed it. it's not super fancy but warm and welcoming.

Server was the best! Made guacamole at our table outside. Food was super delicious and the chips were made from scratch. So good!
