22 Landmark Cantonese Restaurants to Savor in Los Angeles

"Hidden inside a nondescript parking lot is a small mom-and-pop spot that’s been around for decades. The affordable Cantonese barbecue meats are better tasting than the big-name establishments in the area. In fact, ACC is a wholesaler to many popular San Gabriel Valley restaurants that cannot afford to have a barbecue master in-house. The restaurant serves both an Americanized and a traditional Chinese menu, along with daily specials like Hong Kong egg waffles, beef noodle soup, and even a handful of non-Cantonese dishes. The roast duck is a must-order, and the roast pork is only available on the weekends and can be preordered." - Kristie Hang

Affordable, quick, yummy hole in the wall serving authentic Chinese dishes. Called to order and pickup, ready in 10 mins. Their Salt and Pepper Pork Chop is well seasoned, crispy, and only $10 with rice on the side. Note: there’s some bones but still worth it! Will definitely come back and try their bbq.

Small family business; come support them. Okay to excellent food!!! Good price!!! The serving size to price ratio is excellent. Cozy location. Decent seating quantity. Decent seating quality. The food taste varies. The soy sauce packet was tasteless and a waste of money for the business. The lady who works the front is nice. Service is great. I came in calling out if anyone was here. No one answered for the longest time. I could hear the cook was busy cooking. I'm not sure why but the other staff were busy; the lady was nice when she came out. The food exceeded my expectations and is better than most restaurants. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more customers. I'd likely visit when I'm nearby :) The 2nd time I ordered chicken fried rice, it was mediocre...if they could consistently make the fried rice as good as the 1st visit, they would have a line out the door and people reserving them for weekend catering!!! (depicted is chicken fried rice)

Hidden gem. Ordered the crispy pork and fried rice, both delicious. Lady at the counter was very nice. Delicious food, will order again. Try this place out!

Google
Acc was a pleasant surprise. Ordered the Pork chop spicy pepper salted plate. Oh man, fortunately this was so good. The salty garlic flavor on it is worth it. The meat felt fresh and juicy. The name doesn’t help this small restaurant because Chinese fast food restaurants they all taste the same and usually their food to me is disappointing. They didn’t let me seat inside despite having tables open. “Go eat in your car” the lady told me lol!!! but the reason why they don’t get my five stars is because they don’t have pictures on the menu and in my case I ordered totally on the blind. Some marketing is needed here!!

As much as I want to support this local mom&pop restaurant and stores, I feel the public deserve an honest review. About this place: 1.) The 2% fee is added after tax, meaning you are paying additional fee for tax and food. 2.) Overall very salty food, and meat (ordered beef and duck) taste gamey. So I'm still debating if I should come back for veggies only. Only came here once. I was going visit at least a few times before the end of purchase before posting a review. Because I can tell they did their best to keep this place clean and neat (although the overall grading is B, but that probably has something to do with the hanging pig LOL), up to date (accept credit card with a fee), and the price seems fair. However, I don't like the way things end, and can't vouch for both the food and the prices shown. So here's my experience and the rating. I ordered the stirred fried A-veggie with minced garlic, a couple of duck head, wings, collar, and beef type trio. Had a little chat and feel connected with the auntie lady and she said my total is $30ish but she'll round down to $28. My math is bad But it doesn't sound too far off, so I agreed. She was happy and want to give me free rice, I told her I don't need that. While waiting for food, I did the calculation and my total should be $23.79 before tax and fee. I didn't know where the $30 cam from. I only get to confirm the two main dishes because another comes for a Togo order. The answer I got was I forgot the tax. I didn't think she understand me, and she told me to be happy to end the conversation. I really feel for them, so I smile and left. Oh, and very little beef tripe; ended up dumping 70% of that dish. It's rough for small restaurants to survive nowadays. And they must have something good to survive until now. But I don't feel like not able to trust the price signs and checking numbers over and over again, so, maybe you'll have better luck than I. Be happy and have a good day!

Patience Is The Key

Google
Family owned and operated for 30 years, great family btw! Their restaurant is quite small (5 tables max capacity 25-30) and they have a restroom. The food is very authentic, traditional to the country, solid 8/10.

Google
I order spicy orange chicken and beef kao pow plates to go and this it's what I get? Soggy or chicken that is not even spicy. Frozen vegetables with beef. Not even zucchini. Onion peanuts on the kao pow beef.

Google
I visit every few weeks and it's been a staple in the neighborhood for almost 30 years! They've known for their Cantonese BBQ (notably their crispy roast pork and roast duck), which often sell out before dinner rush, but they also have an extensive menu serving authentic fare with Americanized Chinese food too. As a meal-prepper, this place has great portion sizes for weeks when I'm feeling lazy but don't want to break the bank for great food.

Yelp
Delicious food! A tiny restaurant that is run by the nicest owners. Literally a "mom n pop" joint that's been around for over 30 years. ACC Chinese specializes in Cantonese and Chinese- American fare and are known for their BBQ roast meats. This restaurant was highly recommended by Kristie Hang seen on LA Eater- one of my favorite food writers and international journalist... so off I went to try. ACC Chinese Fast Food is truly the case of don't judge a book by its cover. It is a hole-in-the-wall type of spot and NOT "fast-food", lol. However, pops in the kitchen is fast, so there you go, lol! We ordered their roast duck, crispy roast pork, fried rice, pan fried noodles. Everything was delicious and packed nicely for my ride home! Family loved the food. Lastly, the restaurant is in an inconspicuous location and you won't see it driving by. Its location behind medical offices and across from Alhambra Target. *Cards and cash accepted. Parking shared with medical office building.

Yelp
Do you love roast duck? Because this place makes THE BEST roast duck in all of SGV! Fun fact, they actually provide roast duck to a couple of the neighboring restaurants! That's how good they are. They're family owned and extremely nice. They also have two incredibly cute mascots that sit right outside and greet customers! You gotta drop by to check them out for sure! Prices are amazing here but seating is limited. We always take our stuff home to enjoy and it's always delish! Happy eating!

Yelp
Great restaurant if you're looking for cheap and fast and great quality Cantonese food. It's a pretty small operation, but they run it really efficiently. There's also loads of parking so it's really convenient. I really like getting the full bbq duck here and then getting some cooked veg and rice. They cut up the duck for you here and sometimes you can even pick your own, it's a great for togo!

Yelp
Was at Costco and Target across the street when my dad said a good roast duck place was near by. Came here and was welcomed by two calm greeters and Daniel at the counter. got a whole duck, fried rice, and chow fun. All items were good especially the duck. This is mostly carry out type place. There are a few tables. Prices are cheap like pre-covid times. Will return to try the other roast meats as they ran out already. Definitely tasty roast Duck and will get that again.

Yelp
I love these little not so easy to find mum and pop joints Walking in you can tell it's all traditional Chinese food here , very basic interior but it's clean and looks and smells authentic Its most well known for its duck and whole pigs as there was a constant flow of people coming through and taking away both We went some steamed dumplings that came with a bottle of vinegar which with the chilli sauce on the table were delicious The house combination noddles was yum as was the shrimp We only discovered the duck and pork came after we ordered so will be trying that next visit and grabbing some to take home as well Other reviews here complaining about the service and attitude of the lady owner , it's a combination of language barriers and her quirky nature not so uncommon, we had a good laugh while there with her so I'm guessing some people are just a little to uptight Happy to return and try more of this menu

Yelp
Small mom and pop shop. Food is amazing, portions are huge. There are a few tables. Make sure to go before 4 pm for the $8.60 meal

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. None of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. It doesn't get full very often or very quickly. Plenty of spots for you to choose from. Food: I ordered the roasted pork belly. Wow! Amazingly delicious, crunchy, flavorful, and juicy. I ordered a pound of this mouthwatering food, and I wish I had ordered more. So fricken delicious! When you take a bite of it, you can just hear the crunch. That is how crispy the skin is. Staff: The staff here are very rude and unprofessional. The wife who ran the front of the restaurant called me blind because I didn't see the price that was written on the board. Not a fan of her customer service skills. She really could work on that. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. However, if you do pay with credit card, they will charge you 2%.

Yelp
please dont come here if you want clean & fresh food. there are flies, employees with unwashed hands, and dirty tea pots lying all around. I really wanted to like this place given that it is run by mom and pop but to have flies dogs and dirty dishes lying around is just gross. Also, they sell rotting food to go expecting you not to know.

Yelp
Very bad service everything looks very dirty I found hair in my food a very unhygienic place I would never buy food again I found this place looks very unpleasant

Macy H.

Yelp
The only thing going for them is their roasted duck. But terrible service leaves a bad taste in customer's mouth. Apparently, this older lady who was at the front thinks she can yell at customers for asking a question about the menu. Insulted me for looking at the menu to find an item. Kept asking me if I am going to buy a duck or not. Told her I want to look at more items. I never been there. She had the most impatient attitude, which was odd considering there was no other customer she needed to wait on. When I wanted to ask her to get me the 3rd duck that was hanging there, she said no point in asking any questions if you are not going to buy. I barely opened mouth! She stormed inside and wouldnt even come back out. Never seen this kind of service before. Hope other customers see what kind of people they are and not eat there so they realized that a business needs the customers to survive! Duh!

Yelp
I know that ACC Chinese Fast Food has been around for many years, but due to its location, I haven't given them a try during the years I grew up in the area. Seeing that there are a mixed review on Yelp, I decided to give them a try. Note: I am giving them 4 stars solely based on the quality of food. This is a family restaurant where wife is waitress, husband is cook. There is no glam to this hole in the wall establishment. It is a run-down restaurant. So if you are one of those people that is looking for a clean restaurant with top notch service, this is not your place. Ever since Covid started, I have been visiting ACC Chinese Fast Food for my to-go orders. Personal favorites are their Roast Duck and Roast Pork. If you come at the right time, the roast pork could be nice hot and crispy! You definitely get your money's worth. Support local small business and give them some love!
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Have you ever seen a mom-and-pop more mom-and-pop than ACC? Mom takes the orders and shouts them at dad right before she goes back to help him make the food. They whip it all up real quick, and if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of the juices running down your duck as they one back to chop. Their duck game is strong so don't miss the Duck Rice or get one chopped up to share with your family. The skin is crisp even after 40 minutes in my car, and the meat is tender with roasted flavor all the way through. Mom sold me on a stew, made with roast pork, silky-soft tofu, carrots and broccoli simmering in an orange-brown gravy with the slightest hint of sweet and sour. It seems like it's made from the pork they didn't sell, and this pork lives up to the hype. My own mom makes a better Pork Kidney, theirs is okay, and I also like my side of stir fried A-choy. It's called fast food for a reason; efficient, inexpensive, but really quite effective. The menu is overwhelming so stick to the main meats and don't miss out on the duck.

Yelp
In Alhambra, I discovered this excellent Chinese restaurant with a huge selection of dishes. I highly recommend getting the roasted duck and the crispy pork belly. Large portions and very decent prices. This restaurant only has a few tables to dine in. When it becomes busy, the Boss Lady, may be loud, entertaining and very friendly. This is the spot to go if you want to have some Chinese food for a very decent price!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the first time I ordered to go from this restaurant. I ordered the roast duck ($23 plus tax) was a steal. The duck meat tasted so good. It has roast pork and other dishes which I haven't try.

Yelp
I would like to support small businesses like this in the community as much as possible during this pandemic. The hours here during COVID is 11am-7pm. The couple who runs the business is really nice. The wife is usually chatty. It's located at a small plaza next to the medical center, across the street from Target and Costco. I would call ahead and pick up orders. Most of the time take around 15 minutes for them to prepare.

Yelp
This establishment deserves more recognition. Sure, it may look shoddy from the outside. Sure, they may have a B, but it's one of my go-tos. They serve amazing Cantonese bbq meats and are super affordable. They are not only better, but also tastier than other places out there. Their roast duck is better than Ho Kee's. The staff are super nice and go out of their way for you. The menu is also great. They have Americanized dishes, but if you can read Chinese, there's an entire menu for you that is filled with delicious eats. Also, if you can't read Chinese, their to-go menu has better translation, but it's not perfect. They have roast pork on the weekends. If you want it any other day, you can pre-order it. This is in the same plaza as King Hua. Their dumplings are good too. I also enjoy their clay pot rice. This is a one of my best kept secrets, but they could definitely use more help.

Yelp
I have tried most Cantonese BBQ places in town, this place has the best roasted duck. Duck skin is crispy, meat is tender and flavorful. This is the only dish I ordered yesterday, and would definitely come back try the whloe menu!

Yelp
Food are so and so but the service lady was rude because while I was counting cash to pay, she literally snatched the cash from my hand to count it herself. I never seen such a service.

Yelp
I went NYE to buy some roast pork belly to bring to someone's house. No one was there but me. I asked for 1.5 pounds cut into pieces at $13.99/lb. The young man had to find the older guy that cuts the food. Soon an older woman walks in speaking Chinese and asking several questions. She's speaking to both people in there, asking about 1-4 pounds of this and that. I can understand bits and pieces and the older guy is telling her he's busy with my order. Now my order is done and the young fellow tells me $31.62. I give my credit card and it's charged. I walk out and think wait a minute, 1.5 x $14 is about $21. I go back in and asked why so much. I'm told the older guy gave me a little over 2 lbs plus tax. He tells me if I don't want to keep it to bring it back in and adjust the price. I'm thinking if I bring it in would they they resell it? I said it's okay I'll just keep it. Of course I bought too much and now there are a lot left over. I think the older woman confused the man cutting my roast pork belly. It was tasty but I got too much because they screwed up my request.

Yelp
Food is good for the money. Not the greatest delicacies, but edible and tasty-ish enough... It's good enough. I ordered for doordash delivery and missed the email where restaurant swapped my fried fish balls for fried bananas. Not disappointed! Those bananas were the highlight of this meal! Everything I walk past the kitchen I pop another one in my mouth, it's that good! Chow mein was typical, lightly seasoned, but decent on it's own. Salt n pepper pork chop also had good flavors, very crispy, but more fat and batter than meat. Sweet n sour pork was also typical, but probably wouldn't order again The duck and BBQ pork were the 2 I was most anxious for and was the most disappointing. Meat for both was dry, maybe old. The sweet n sour sauce was very watery. Broccoli was legit just steamed no flavors at least it wasn't over boiled. Get the fried bananas!!!

Cassandra S.

Yelp
I was met greeted by an older woman who said what I was looking at was the lunch menu and no longer available as it was after 4:00p.m. She handed me the menu, I looked it over and knew what I wanted to order, but she never came out from the back. She seen me still standing there and instead of, oh, I don't know, asking what I wanted to order she decided to put away a ton of styrofoam to-go boxes away. Errrrrrr, what in the rudeness just happened? I left. Needless to say, the customer service was awful and I'm glad I did not waste a dime after reading the other reviews which mention she insults customers. Very rude woman who does not deserve any business.
google avatar

Marie C.

Yelp
Small mom and pop places. Only 2 people running this business. Ordered roast duck. Great price at $23.99 plus tax when other places are charging more than $32 + tx for whole duck. Recieved free 6 pieces of salted duck wings for free with my order. Everything was very tasty. Owners were very nice. This place is not fancy. Only a few tables inside. No decor. Service isnt fast either as only 2 people working. If you can handle this for good food with nice portions and fair price, this is the place to go.
google avatar

Henry T.

Yelp
This place has some decent reviews but don't be fooled, bbq pork and roast pork tasted like left over from yesterday. The food was heated but was likely done to make them seem more appetizing than they actually are. Take a look at the picture and decide for yourself.
google avatar

Jean G.

Yelp
Beef Chow Fun -no flavor. Sweet and Sour Pork - old pork, cannot chew at all. Roasted Duck - old , dry and bony. Meat, very little and not juicy or tender. Skin was tough. Not fresh at all. Owners - friendly Money - wasted. Don't get fooled.

Yelp
Very hole-in-the-wall, slightly cringy dirty, BUT this place definitely has top notch roast pork and roast duck. People regularly come to order/pick up half or even whole roast pigs for parties. The cook also told us he does weekly orders of roast ducks for some local restaurants. They also sell out everyday. As for the other a la carte stuff, I've tried different things and what I've had are all meh ok. Not great, not terrible. The good thing here is that the chef cooks to order instead of the takeout places that scoops your food from a heat tray. Unfortunately this time I didn't take a pic of the roast pork I ordered because I already scarfed down half the plate before I realized. One more thing if note is that the wife/co-owner talks bluntly, though well meaning. That Asian "mom scolding" you kind of way (some of y'all know what I mean). It rubs some customers the wrong way if they take it too seriously. I had to intervene the last time when she did that mom-scolding to a woman for making her elderly mom carry the party tray to the car. The owner lady said something like "Ai-ya! Young people carry! Why you make older lady carry!?!" Anyways, that lady got pissed off and starting talking back thinking the lady was accusing her of mistreatment. I would suggest to not take any of her joshing or half hearted cranky lady stuff too seriously.
google avatar

Adrian O.

Yelp
Their food is good but the owner is quite moody. The place is clean that I can say. I just wish that the lady owner would just be a little nicer.

Yelp
Bought a roast pig for my moms 90th and all her friends raved about how tasty it was and even fought over the cooked hooves and head. It was the first dish to be gone at our 3 hour dinner despite my thinking I would have alot of roast pork leftovers. Thank you ACC for making my moms birthday eventful for her cronies! Note: u need to order in advance if you want a 60lb pig, the largest size they could roast
google avatar

Howard F.

Yelp
I came here a lot when this joint used to be a Taiwanese beef noodle restaurant. This was in the 90's I want to say. Then, ACC existed in the shadows of King Hua just across the parking lot isle. King Hua being one of the best dim-sum restaurants shuttered in 2020 in the midst of Covid. I honestly have not been inside since the 90's though it is a walk from my house. Tonight, my wife and I feel like having Chinese roast duck, but don't want to drive further down into San Gab. or Alhambra, so we came here for takeout. The duck is delicious and on-par if not better than any Cantonese BBQ restaurants in the SGV. Juicy with good flavor roasted all the way into the meat, not dry, and not greasy surprisingly, it was fantastic. The "Three Flavor Meat Rice" dish was also fantastic, straight up classic Cantonese rice dish, $9.99 for a pretty big plate and full of meat. I am both surprised and happy because this is my closest Cantonese BBQ restaurant in the NW Alhambra/El Sereno/South Pas area. I will come back again for other BBQ/roast chicken dishes which needs to call in advance.

Yelp
Super small shop located across from Target and behind King Hua. This place is in a shared plaza with other establishments but offers plenty of parking. I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and this place wasn't busy at all. It seems that they do mostly take out. I got the egg with beef over rice and pan fried noodles with beef. Both were basic dishes, and it was hard to mess up. But it was a bit too salty to my liking. I also ordered a small dish of Peking duck (only $4!!) and it was pretty basic as well. Seems like everything here is you get what you pay for. I'd come again for a quick and cheap bite.
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem because it's not easily seen from the street. I stopped by and ordered a lunch special with Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, and chow mien. The lady is very nice and helpful and she gets a steady crowd of people placing orders to go. Since we are still in the C19 pandemic no one is allowed to eat inside. I took the lunch special home and we devoured it - so good and flavored right.

Yelp
THIS PLACE RIPPED ME OFF!!! My wife called and ordered their "Daily Special," which they advertised as $5.50 per order. My wife ordered a Kung Pao chicken and Broccoli Beef (2 orders). When I went to pick up the order, the owner lady asked me: "Are you Filipino or Chinese?" I thought it was a strange question, but I answered: "Chinese." The lady then responded: "Chinese people don't usually order from the Daily Special menu. They order from the regular menu." I chuckled uncomfortably and didn't really know how to respond, but thought to myself, are you telling me I can't order from the Daily Special menu because of my race?!?! What ethnicity does someone have to be to order from the Daily Special?!?!!!! I then proceeded to hand her my credit card to pay for the items. She said there was a 2% transaction fee to use my credit card. She insisted on cash. I asked her how much I owed her and she said $14.00 even (and handed me a random piece of paper that said $14.00 handwritten with blue pen). When I handed her a $20 bill, the owner lady gave me $4.00 change. This too was strange, so I said: "Sorry, but the proper change for a $14.00 check is $6.00." She paused for a second, stared at me, and said it was her "mistake," and gave me $6.00, promising that she made a simple math error. This didn't feel right at the time but I didn't think more about it at the moment, because it was already very awkward, so I grabbed my food and left. As I was driving home, I realized the owner lady lied to me again!!! Notably, each Daily Special dish is $5.50. So two orders would equal $11.00. Sales tax in Alhambra is 9.5%, so the total should have been $12.05, NOT $14.00!!! Listen, I get it. She only stole $1.95 from me (and tried to steal $3.95), but whether you get ripped off for $1.00 or $1,000,000.00, getting ripped off is GETTING RIPPED OFF!!! To be honest, I really don't even care about the money, but it's the idea that she tried to bully me into ordering from the "regular" menu and the fact that she could be so petty to try to defraud me out of $3.95! Really?!?! You want to lose a customer over $4?!?! I still can't believe it!!! WOW!!!!!!!!

Donna M.

Yelp
The service here was horrible! The whole time I ate my meal, my party and I were insulted. The owner turned off the air conditioning. There is a lack of ambiance. Throughout the meal, the owner's wife made unnecessary, rude comments. For example: she said loudly she prefers take out and not dine in. When we asked a question about a dish and the price, her response "are you blind? It's on the poster." Another example was we ordered a fish paste yam leaf stir fry. She kept commenting that it's organic. I grew it at home. The more you eat, the prettier you get. It's a popular dish and I sell out. It's also good for lowering diabetes. She got our order wrong and gave us garlic yam leaf stir fry. "It's better so your mouth doesn't stink." We ordered water to drink. It comes spilled with black floating specs in it. How did that happen? She's dumbfounded. As we are paying when my party was discussing how much tip to give her. She sarcastically answered "I'm fine with a $6 tip." The beef noodle soup was bland. The beef cubes were tough. The stir fry's were either bland or too salty. The food is overly priced. I would not recommend this place that serves mediocre food and terrible customer service. Come here if you want to get insulated the whole time you try to eat your meal in peace.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Just tried this place today for the first time I always pass by it I'm glad I gave it a try. The people who work there are super nice and the young guy with glasses was very helpful, it's small but cozy inside this place deserves 5 stars

Suzanne F.

Yelp
Good roast duck. The eggplant dish was yummy also. I thought the char siu was ok (bath in sauce and served warm) but my teen really enjoyed it and char siu is a favor of his. The roast pork was served warm and the inside pieces were delicious but it was bit over cooked especially the outer pieces. However we still ordered another 1/2 pound to take home and the family enjoyed it. Thai tea was good too. My teen son wants to return! It was truly mom and pop shop but we both thought the "mom" who works cashier and server was very sweet and her English was charming. She may appeared abrupt but it's a cultural thing. Small dining area but we were the only ones dining and several customers came for takeout.

Literal W.

Yelp
The store owner has a terrible attitude towards customer service. When she found out that customers wanted to dine in, she would loudly complain (preferring everyone to take food away). Moreover, she uses offensive language like "going to die" in Cantonese intentionally, especially making unfriendly, almost cursing remarks during holidays. I recommend avoiding this place unless you're looking for an infuriating experience.Never recommend it.

Mary Jane C.

Yelp
I was looking for a hot turkey to serve for our holiday lunch at work, as most places only provide fully cooked turkeys that you need to reheat. Unfortunately, we do not have an oven at work.. so I called and the sweetest lady was able to help me and get an order in. Ordered a roughly 20# turkey (ended up being 19#) for $62. The turkey was perfectly brined and roasted, and was still piping hot when I got it to work and had it sliced up to serve for our Thanksgiving potluck. Apparently they also will let you drop off your turkey and roast it for you there as well ($1.50 a pound?). Seems like a great deal. We were super happy with the turkey that they provided and roasted for us, everything was eaten (no leftovers for once!). Will definitely be back next year for another one. Thank you ACC!

Yelp
I don't know where my previous review went but this is one of those mom-n-pop restaurants if I am not mistaken. The lady who was there several times on each time I visited to order is friendly and nice. Parking lot is shared with other establishments like Alhambra Medical University and Healthcare Partners, United Integrated Healthcare, Beverly Oncology Medical Group, Advanced Dentistry of Alhambra, etc. Food is good for the money. For such a tiny place, customers are given the privilege of using the restroom. Restrooms normally does not exists for tiny places such as this. Kudos to the owners/operators!

Yelp
Decided to try this restaurant out since I live right around the corner. When I told the lady I would like to order the combo on the menu, she proceeded to tell me that that is very little food and I should instead order a la carte. I told her I was just ordering for myself and she kept insisting that that would be too little food for me. I should have left at that point. I decided to order the pork combo which came with fried rice and an egg roll and wontons. Pros : the pork was average/good, nothing I would rave about. Cheap. Cons: the wontons in my picture were chewier than leather I literally spat it out, I thought they were supposed to be crispy, they were clearly microwaved. Same for the egg roll it was nuked in a microwave. The worst was the fried rice that was drowning in soy sauce. I thought the worst was over until I got diarrhea the next morning. Best of luck with this place, I will definitely be avoiding it. Also, they charge an additional 2% if you use your credit card.

Yelp
You don't get any more "hole in a wall" than ACC. My friend told me that they make great Chinese BBQ and perfect for grabbing a to-go lunch if you are near by. It is located near one of the busiest Costco store ever. Their menu on the wall is posted all over, and on top of each other. The food is small in portion compare to Sam Woo, but equally if not more delicious. Well flavored, slow cooked, and fresh. The price is also slightly cheaper than other Chinese joints. The chicken was juicy, the scallion ginger oil sauce was perfectly seasoned, the rice was fresh and fluffy. It is comfort food at its best. Call 10 minutes ahead if you are picking up.

Yelp
The owner is from Taisan and as myself. Because this so call restaurant was recommended for their Roast Pork, I decided to buy some for tonight's dinner. First warning how dirty the inside was. Second warning m, there was no roast pork available to see but only 2 roast ducks. I greet the owner in Taisanese and order a small portion of roast pork. The short story, I paid for food that was spoiled. This roast pork must be very old because it has an odor. My suggestion to future customers is to avoid this business. My mistake and this text is my warning.

Yelp
Great duck! They said I would be back. They're right. Tasty and inexpensive. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
They now are open early in the morning for porridge! I also had their catered food at a friend's birthday party, the noodles were better than the fried rice, in my opinion, and the beef and broccoli was delicious for such a big order.

Yelp
Located across the street from the Costco/Target complex. Bought the last piece of roast pork belly this evening at 7:45PM. Took the whole piece to help them out (and my family's bellies). It was about 2.5 lbs and paid about $27. Totally old school hole-in-the wall spot. Heard about it from Kristie Hang SGV Canto food article! Bought it for takeout. It was still warm and the skin was still crunchy when I got home. So worth it.

Yelp
Don't let the name fool you; they offer legitimate Cantonese fare and cooking. I got their salted fish with diced chicken fried rice and a roast duck congee to-go; the next day my friend and I ordered their Salted Fish with Pork Claypot Rice. Food: In terms of the fried rice, it's spiced right though I prefer to see more bits of the salted fish; they use white meat for their diced chicken which nothing's wrong with that except I prefer dark meat. White meat just taste dry to me in texture. I understand they're going for a healthier approach therefore I am not going to fault them for it. Now their roast duck congee is good: balanced in flavor, thick, hearty and chunks of duck meat (good quality) as well as skin are mixed in. This is a porridge that one can get full from as opposed to the usual watery ones. The claypot rice is good. The ingredients are fine by themselves individually but the ingredients' flavors need to be harmonized; harmonizing the flavors of the ingredients will make the claypot rice all the better. I do however, enjoy the crunchiness of the sizzling rice that's found at the bottom of the claypot. Price: Very cheap and affordable: $7.35 for the fried rice and $4.99 for the roast duck congee and $8.99 for the claypot rice. Considering the portions that's given, not many places in San Gabriel Valley/LA can beat the prices here. Service: Down to earth, warm, friendly and polite. Ambience: A hole in the wall gem + Mom and Pop kind of deal. Recommendations: -Hot pots -Porridges -2-3 items BBQ rice -Claypot rice. Why the claypot rice? Because they make it from scratch and it takes about 45 min for them to make one. Overall: If you're looking for legitimate Cantonese cuisine and good duck, give this place a try; they have been around for 29 years.

Yelp
This is definitely a hole in a wall restaurant. Good for takeouts. I won't dine in because the lady who works there can be seen as rude. Crispy roast pork and roast duck are on point. Singaporean fried vermicelli was good. I didn't care for their BBQ pork. For the price, I can't complain.

Yelp
It's a hit or a miss but I still keep coming back! It's a local mom and pop shop and they always provide the best service, plus they go out of their way to make the customer happy.

Yelp
Cash only and they skimp on food. I ordered the sweet and sour pork special and there were only 9 chunks of pork in the dish =T The rest consisted mostly of onions, that tasted like the fridge, and bell peppers. And the sauce was much too sweet. Like the others note, service is very crass. For $5, what a waste =T

Yelp
Christmas Day and alas we wanted Peking Duck! We search this on yelp and decided to take the drive from the westside to Alhambra - Boy were we glad we did! Ordered too much food including a whole Peking Duck, but gosh was it terrific! Wonderful owners who convinced me (OK it didn't take much convincing once I saw the crispy skin!) To try the roast pork. I'm now thinking I would go back just for that! (Tip: mom suggested it off the bone and that was perfect). Extremely reasonable, extremely delicious, extremely friendly... And an easy drive especially during Covid. Can't recommend enough. No pictures because we dug in quickly...oopsy
