Great and friendly staff. Steve worked with me over a few months to design the engagement ring for my wife and she absolutely loves it! Would hands down recommend this shop. In the store they have a great selection of unique and interesting jewelry as well.

Steve Hanna’s designs are marvelous, and he features the work of other fine craftspeople. He custom-made our wedding rings 20 years ago, and we’ve been coming back ever since. His customer service is excellent, and his staff aim to please. Covid has had an impact on many businesses, but Accents is still a winner. Go!

I have been on the fence about writing this review for a long time. And yet, I kept giving Accents the benefit of the doubt. After years of supporting this store and purchasing lots, I can no longer justify the way their staff leaves me feeling unwelcome. This store repeatedly treats customers as though they are an inconvenience. And there is little they will do to salvage your jewelry despite its frequent breakages— even the salesperson admitted to me that this scenario is common, and that when something breaks, you might as well make a new purchase vs investing in a repair. I’ve loved this store for a long time, their pieces are beautiful. The atmosphere just doesn’t reflect that same quality.

Have had several rings sized here. They've always done a great job with friendly customer service. Had to take one back for resizing as it was a weird shape, but they worked with me to get it right and shipped it back to me within a short time. Thank you! Great place.

Accents Jewelry is a most Unique Store/Gallery showcasing many of Steve Hanna's students over the years. Steve has taught thousands of Jewelry Artists. Many of which have gone on to be well known professionals. A must see for the Jewelry Lover who truly appreciates Top Quality Original creations. David Rasnick

Terrible vibes/service…poor quality pieces but pretty! As a non white passing person I feel very unwelcome. All of the pieces break with in one use.

Owner Steve has been serving the westside for 30+ years on Main st. Any time of day or night count on a professional jeweler to be there to help with basic repairs to custom creations all your jewelry needs handled.

Helpful, cheerful employees who don't pressure you to buy anything. Lots of beautiful jewelry to choose from in all price ranges plus you support a local small business.

Yelp
I'm so sad this place closed down it was an absolute gem. I have all my jewelry from here and it's remained in perfect condition for many years. Love you Accents!

Yelp
After years of taking business to this store and sometimes dealing with hiccups, my last visit and interaction Steven who is apparently a very experienced 30-year old jeweler and owner is this store was horrifying to say the least. I will leave out the rude, dishonest and patronizing treatment I endured from Steven not only in person but via texts as well. What a waste of my time. After a phone conversation with Carly who is one of the nice salespeople working at this store, she told me she would find out the estimate for doing it the "easy way" (that Steven had actually kept pushing on me and yet charging me higher). Apparently Steven realized he couldn't trick me and because I questioned the way Steven who kept forcing me to do it his way, he "thinks I'd be happier taking my bracelet elsewhere" Great, I'm more than happy to take my business elsewhere, some place where they would actually listen to and value clients, and not overcharge by playing mind games and tricks on clients.

Yelp
Accents has been a Main Street staple for as long as I can remember. The jewelry is not only beautiful, but local artists are supported and showcased. They have amazing jewelry. I keep coming back because of Steven and everyone that works here. All are warm, creative and most helpful. I am welcomed and remembered every time I come in. They also do amazing and very well priced repairs. I will always support this family owned shop. I can't wait until you reopen your doors. Wendy V

Yelp
Huge longtime fan of this place, the collections are exquisite, and the people who work there are always so helpful and knowledgeable. Went in today and Jacob fixed a wedding ring dilemma and was incredibly helpful. So grateful to have this neighborhood gem

Yelp
Tried to include this with last review. Attached is an image of the store credit copy that I had. This was provided in my initial email.

Yelp
Bought 14K gold hoops and love them!! Super lightweight and don't even feel like I'm wearing them, and for a great price of about $200ish. Definitely a great value for the quality and would come back.

Yelp
I found the, "Tiny Gold Drop Necklace" on the website for a gift and called the store to see if it was in stock and get some details about it. Spoke to "Victor" at length about the price ($250.00), materials used and availability. After she spoke to the designer, Steven Hanna, she advised me that it was in store, so I agreed to be there at opening time the next day. Five minutes later I decided to look again, only to find to my dismay that the price had magically gone from $250.00 to $316.00. I immediately called Victor back who seemed equally surprised and advised me that, "We are having some trouble with the website and it has probably gone up due to the increase in the price of gold". I asked her if she would honor the original price we had discussed and which had been on the website not five minutes before which was $250.00, to which she replied a resounding, "No". I have purchased several items from this store before but I advise any buyer to beware of arbitrary price changes. A huge 26.4% price increase within five minutes is not only unacceptable it is bordering on daylight robbery.

Yelp
What and amazing experience! Steven was able to meet a last minute request (during the busiest time of year) to make a ring for a surprise anniversary gift. I was so grateful for his kindness and for keeping me posted all throughout the process. The ring is stunning! I would highly recommend Accents Jewelry Design and Steven for their customer service, ease of communication, beautiful jewelry, and amazing selection. Thank you! We are customers for life :)

Yelp
The store is a neighborhood gem. The girls that work in the store are very kind, patient and professional. I have purchased jewelry, had repairs and gold plating done. If you are in the area, be sure to treat yourself or pick up the perfect the gift.

Yelp
Could not have been any nicer to a guy just walking in from the Street. Was looking to buy my wife some jewelry for a birthday and 10th wedding anniversary. After running away from other jewelry stores in the same city I tried this place. Was happy to give these sweet girls my business. Very helpful.. absolutely no pressure. Good for them. They deserve my (your) business. M

Yelp
House-made jewelry? Yes please! Accents Design carry gemstoned, gold, and silver jewelry with a variety of small and large accessories from inexpensive to pricey, with different designers featured. Service was attentive and friendly. We walked out happy with some pretty pieces in hand~! P.S. Summer note: store needs A/C. At least for its employees and patrons who will shop for 15+ minutes.

Yelp
Marie helped me with a small jewelry design project and she couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I am very happy with my piece and this great little shop.

Yelp
I look around and consider other jewelers, but I keep coming back to have rings made here. They are just perfect. Years ago, a ring caught my eye as an engagement ring, and now we have 5 rings from Steven Hanna. His work is so beautiful.

Yelp
I think the best way to begin this review is simply stating that this is my favorite store in Santa Monica (and that is not an easy statement to make). I have visited Accents for over 11 years religiously and each time I stop by, I end up buying something for a family member, friend or better yet....myself. At first, I was drawn to the different jewelry designer's exhibited in each display case. I liked the ides of local artists showcasing their own work in one shop. After a few visits, I started to realize that I had favorite designers. I began to work with the staff to request old designs that were no longer available from those specific designers.... to which I would begin placing personal orders. Moving on from personal orders, I dreamed up a few ideas and worked with some of the staff and they actually created pieces based on my direction. Not only would I order one of these pieces, I would come back and order more of my designs for others. I even had a friend who worked for Macy's ask where I got my necklace and I said that I designed it. The staff.... no matter what I have asked for.... the staff has accommodated (and that is saying alot). From fixing broken pieces that I purchased in the store to fixing broken pieces of jewelry that were passed down to me from family members, the staff always helped me find a solution. If they could not provide a solution, they pointed me in the right direction to have the item fixed by a reputable contact. At one point I was robbed and had to replace a number of pieces and the staff helped me go through each item and create a database of my purchases for the insurance company. I have brought so many family and friends into the store to buy as a result of the kindness and friendly nature of Steven and his staff. Friends of mine who live everywhere from NY, CT and MD to FL, CO and even abroad in Ireland have said to me, I would really just like a small gift from Accents for my birthday or could you buy me a small gift from Accents to give to a friend? Their reputation surely precedes themselves. My favorite purchase was a college friend (guy) who I never thought would every get married. Without my encouragement, he purchased his engagement ring from Accents. He knew that I knew jewelry and that I frequented the store. He could afford Tiffany's, Cartier, etc and in the end, he chose Accents because he wanted to support small businesses on Main Street and because of their unique men's engagement rings (Titanium for him). I would like to suggest that during these difficult times that we remember these boutique stores filled with character that highlight local artisans in community. In an effort to contribute to the re-opening, I have been working with the owner to order a few items.... I would highly recommend that you reach out and speak with Steven directly. He is such a kind soul and would be happy to source anything your heart may desire.

Yelp
When a small business does it "right," it should be of note. Even before the current pandemic, the staff at Accents has been both knowledgeable and professional for years! And now, during this stressful time, Accents insures their customers are protected and still the friendly and professional way of their doing business persists. Accents is a small, retail staple on Main Street. When you visit their store, you'll immediately know why!

Yelp
We've purchased beautiful necklaces and earrings at Accents Jewelry Design. But today we went in because my daughter broke a necklace clasp. They were wonderful and fixed it at no charge. Great customer service!! Love Accents Jewelry Design!

Yelp
Very disappointed with this place. My husband went here to get my father's twenty-five year old wedding band resized to fit him. We got it back shortly, but just four days after one of the diamonds had fallen out. When we took it in, they were hesitant but accepted to fix it. The next surprise was that the new diamond is now smaller, and is a different color possibly because of the material they used to fuse it in place. The have beautiful jewelry, but don't expect them to fix their mistakes properly.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Accents Jewelry. I was looking for a jeweler to create a custom ring for my girlfriend. Steven and his team did an amazing job! I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but after discussing a few ideas with Steven and his managers, we finalized the concept. I just picked up the ring today, and couldn't be happier (my girlfriend feels the same way). If you're looking for a great jeweler and jewelry store in Los Angeles, I suggest stopping here first.

Yelp
Fabulous service. I bought a ring over five years ago and returned it after my engagement went sour. The kind folks at Accents were attentive, patient, and helpful every time I came back in to chip away at my credit balance. Anna Lisa was especially helpful. Many thanks:)

Yelp
First, I would like to commend Steven Hanna for cultivating local talent and actively encouraging jewelry designers. He is a highly-gifted designer himself, who has his own line of jewelry but there are many designers who he has nurtured from their first efforts in his classes through to owning their own businesses / stores. He is a true mensch. I took a lost-wax class with him many years ago -- and, in response to Pam H from Arizona who did not enjoy his class, I had a great time, learned a ton and produced some pieces of which I am still very proud -- and I get great comments whenever I wear them. Since then, I have stayed in touch and, when I was going to get married, my husband and I entrusted Steven with helping us to create an engagement band/wedding ring designed by us that would suit our "modernist architect" aesthetic. He came through with flying colors. It is like nothing I have ever seen and it is perfectly us. This is also the store where I often find the perfect gift for a girlfriend. The cross-section of artists who are picked out by Steven always have something that seems perfect for the person I am shopping for, whether hippy-dippy or preppy. I wish I could give this guy, and this store TEN stars, it is simply that good.

Yelp
There does not exist a better jewelry store in town--and that is not an exaggeration. Accents delivers on quality, customer service, uniqueness, custom orders, repairs, design--you name it. I have several pieces from the store and I keep coming back for more. Because all of the staff are also designers, you get a very unique experience here that you wouldn't get elsewhere. They are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and if something you want isn't just right, they can talk to you about changing it to meet your needs. I've even brought in jewelry not from the store to be repaired, sized, or polished differently. Recently I had a custom ring made by one of the in-house designers, Tyson (T Morgan Made). His work is genius! I have several of his pieces, but wanted a simple, elegant ring to wear when I didn't want to wear my flashy engagement ring that also doubles as my wedding ring (such as during travel). Tyson always remembers me and my husband whenever we walk into the store. He spent time with us discussing options and preferences and then called me when he had some stones to show me. He then designed me the most perfect ring that I never want to take off. Honestly, it's rare to come across a business where the quality, design, customer service, and staff are all in perfect harmony--this place is it. Every time I need a gift for someone (or my husband needs a gift for me!) we go to accents. There just isn't anything that compares to the Accents experience.

Yelp
I finally got a chance to go into this shop the other day. I always walk by it on Main street and thought I should go in there! I was looking specifically for a gift for my 2 year old niece who is getting baptized. I wanted a silver cross, something simple and that she could wear now if she wants. I found 3 separate pieces and added them, with the help of Jennifer (I think? JK is written on the receipt name). She is a friendly blonde who found just what I was looking for: a silver children's chain, a silver cross (simple but elegant), and a letter 'O' for my niece's name Ophelia. I spent $ 44.90 which I think is a good deal for quality sterling silver, which Jennifer polished at my request. Gift wrap is simple but attractive. It's great to support small businesses where custom and unique pieces are offered at competitive prices, minus the crowds and annoyances of nearby SM Place and 3rd Street Promenade stores. I would go back for my own jewelry shopping and gifts in the future!

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I bought a pair of earrings here a year back, and lost it during my gym session. It was super cute. I loved it so much, I wanted to replace it. Unfortunately, they no longer sell that earring. Guess what? They custom made one new pair just so that I have something similar to what i like! XOXO!!! totally made my day! Lots of local artist / jeweler. They actually have someone in-house as well. Beautiful / incredible place. I used to live in London and LOVED the camden market. If you are into the "Slightly" hippy but classic style, I would strongly suggest it.

Yelp
My absolute favorite jewelry store in Los Ángeles for SO many reasons. Not only is the quality of all the jewelry top notch, but the customer service is outstanding. Steven and his apprentice designers are extremely helpful, personable and motivated to find the perfect piece for you. I recently sent in an order for a customized necklace and Steven got back to me the same day and made sure to listen to my preferences. He offered amazing suggestions and managed to create my dream necklace even during the COVID-19 crisis. I will be wearing it every day! Overall I highly recommend this Santa Monica boutique and it is especially important to support local, small businesses at the moment! Can't wait to go back again soon!!

Yelp
I work right up the street from Accents and first went in a couple months ago looking for jewelry for my bridesmaids. I'd been hunting all over the place for months and couldn't find anything I liked. It was all too expensive, too "bridesmaid-y," not quite right or just plain ugly. What a refreshing change to find Accents. According to the web site, owner/designer Steven Hanna opened the store back in 1987. He carries a wide variety of styles from a number of designer lines, including his own, and the store is actually known for the custom jewelry Steven creates. They even offer jewelry-making classes on Tuesday nights, where many of the designers featured in the store apparently got their start. Cool! After just a couple of minutes of perusing the designs on my first visit to Accents, I found a pretty, simple necklace that I thought would go great with my bridesmaids' dresses. Turns out it was actually one of Steven's designs. When I asked him about earrings to match, he showed me what they had, but we agreed that the necklace and earrings together might be a bit much. So he offered to create something simpler to complement the necklace. He even said he could give me a price break since I would be ordering four sets of jewelry. I was pretty certain I'd found what I was looking for, but I decided to think about it and come back the following week. I did just that, and one of the girls who worked there instantly recognized me from the week before. She was very friendly and went right to work writing up the order for me. When it came to deciding on the length of the necklaces and I mentioned that the neckline on my maid of honor's dress was higher than the rest of my bridesmaids' dresses, she said they could make hers with an adjustable clasp, so that it could be worn at two different lengths, depending on what worked best. And when I mentioned the discount that Steven spoke of, she made a note of it on the order slip and said she'd confirm the amount with him. I paid for half of the estimated total and was told my jewelry should be ready within a week. I actually received a call from her the very next day to let me know that my order was ready and I could pick it up anytime. She said Steven had given me the discount as discussed and that she'd have each set of jewelry individually gift-boxed and ready for me to pick up. The jewelry turned out great and complemented the bridesmaids' dresses perfectly. The next time I'm looking for jewelry, I'll definitely go back to Accents. And I might just have to check out that jewelry class sometime too! Update 9/8/07: I just saw on the KCRW site that Accents also offers a 10% discount to Fringe Benefits members.

Yelp
I usually go in to Accents to check out their unique pieces and almost always end up leaving with something. All of their artists are amazing and their staff is helpful and sincere. I'm getting married in a few weeks and my fiancé gave me his grandmother's blue topaz necklace to wear for our wedding. She passed away earlier this year and I really wanted to wear it but it is gold and didn't really go with my dress. So I took it Accents and asked them if they could make it into a ring. Tyson (an incredible artist at the store) referred me to Steven who did an amazing job!! It's classic and beautiful. Thank you so much for your talent. I feel it will be a treasure in our family for many more generations to come.

Yelp
Steve Hanna is a beautiful, creative, lovely soul: an artist, a mentor and a mensch. My spouse and I first found Accents when looking for our engagement rings and have kept coming back for the last 12 years. The other people working at Accents are lovely and the store features local artists, many of whom have studied with Steve. We have found beautiful artistic jewelry at Accents and especially love our pieces handcrafted by Steve. Check it out!

Yelp
This review is in regards to a custom ring made by Steven. I had a stone that I wanted set in a design I had in mind. I brought the drawing of the design to Steven, and he looked through some of his own ring designs to help the two of us come up with something beautiful and functional. He was so patient with me and my requests, discussed the pros and cons of each type of metal he works with, and kept me involved every step of the way in the making of this gorgeous ring. This included showing me the wax mold to make adjustments prior to making the acutal ring. Steven definitely added in his artistic eye to my design ideas, and the result was incredible - he is truly an artist. And his prices are extremely reasonable (bearing in mind that if you have decided to have a custom piece of jewelry made, that you are commissioning a piece of art, and should expect to pay accordingly!). I will say I went to other jewelry shops before coming to Accents and I did not have nearly the same positive experience. Many other shops in the area send your stone or jewelry off to the jeweler and you never get to meet or talk to the artist him or herself. They do not keep you involved every step of the way, and they charge significantly more than Steven did. I would go here for all my custom jewelry needs. And the jewelry they have in stock is also beautiful, unique, and reasonably priced. Thanks, Steven!!!

Yelp
When an ad for a mall jewelry store comes on during a game or any TV that I am watching with my guy friends, I ALWAYS say, "Please don't ever buy a girlfriend a pendant that you see in a commercial. I have a place where everything is hand made and your girl will never see another person wearing that special piece that you picked out just for her." A girl feels special when the piece is special! This is also a great spot to go for Valentines Day gifts. Ask the employees to help, they are all jewelers and will guide you towards something your lady will like. They also have cool sounding classes in jewelry making and silversmithing. I am a fan.

Yelp
Amazing collection of unique and interesting jewelry made by the staff of the shop. If you like unusual original artistic pieces, and are looking for something specific you will surely find what you seek here. The display cases are well organized and if you're not in a hurry you could spend a while browsing. They have a great selection of rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and chains in all sorts of styles, from traditional to eclectic and funky. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They handle resizing and custom orders.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
This is tough one for me because I bet the class has already changed. It was a long drive and it's a slow process that they teach. I know a lot of people including myself who like surf and skate culture. I just think that I was taken in the wrong direction creatively and that I was over exposed in the class... When will artists support artists? It's hard to land on your feet when there's nothing to land on. I was hoping to make something original and salable not something that would be mass produced. Tyson has great work and I would stick with him if you need any guidance.

Yelp
I first went into Accents with my then-girlfriend over a year ago. We fell in love with the atmosphere and the staff and came away with a nice, simple casual ring. When it came time, I shopped all over the western hemisphere for an engagement ring that was right. Luckily I remembered Accents and stopped looking. Johanna Torell helped me design exactly the right ring and then crafted it to the EXACT specs that we discussed. I knew it would look great, but I had no idea that it was going to be perfect. Johanna is truly an artist. So much so that we came back for the wedding rings. Johanna matched her band to the exact width and curvature of the engagement ring for a perfect (and more importantly, comfortable) fit. I found the only band I actually liked and looked good on my finger there as well. When they only had it in silver, the original designer (the main designer, Steven Hanna) duplicated it perfectly in white gold. None of our designs are extremely "difficult" or "out there," but the simplicity in which we were able to get what we want is worth every penny. You might pay less elsewhere, but my peace of mind outweighed any small amount of savings I might have had in the jewelry district. Need good, quality jewelry? Custom designs? Personal attention? Accents is your place. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Shauna M.

Yelp
Accents is a gem of a jewelry store. I love all of the unique and hand-made pieces they carry and they have a great variety of styles and their prices start at a very affordable range. They have beautiful heirloom and "investment" pieces, too. My boyfriend goes there often to shop for my birthday/holiday gift and they always help him pick out just the right thing, and were great about exchanging a necklace once that wasn't quite my style. Their selection rotates often so I always enjoy stopping by to check out what's new. Hands-down my favorite jewelry store.

Max E.

Yelp
I could not have had a more positive customer experience at each step along the way. I was interested in a custom piece, but had no prior experience in designing or concepting jewelry. Thankfully, Steven Hanna was very patient and helped me arrive at a design -- and, ultimately, final product -- that exceeded any expectations I had before going into it. The entire process from start to finish was a delight.

Yelp
If you love silver jewelery that is artistic and handmade, this is the place. Several designers have pieces here that are just too cool. The prices are great, pretty moderate for handmade treasures I think. I have several pieces, but my favorites are by a designer named Steven Hanna-they're very organic, freeform and have small set in gemstones. (I get tons of compliments on this one that looks like the universe) The style is relaxed, contemporary, and very unique. It suits me, as I don't like to wear things everyone else is wearing (trendy, ugh.). Park on the street if you can find it in front, or even better behind, there's a ton of metered parking right behind it. While you're there, wander around across the street and check out this novelty shop with the kookiest stuff, I got Luchador thumb wrestling masks there...will review it when I figure out what it's called....

Yelp
I walked into Accents one day after getting off work early. I had no intention of buying anything that day, but I ended up doing so that time AND the next time I walked in too. The workers and designers there are super nice and very friendly and helpful. They feature a lot of silver jewelry and have a great assortment of styles. I ended up getting a necklace and a ring there both, and am working with a designer to make a pendant for me. If you are ever looking for a new, original piece at an outstanding price, stop in to Accents. You won't be disappointed.

Laurel J.

Yelp
Went in here while walking around after getting a mani/pedi in the area, and the jewelry is absolutely phenomenal. It's very unique and they have options to make any piece your own (letter stamping, custom jewelery, etc.). The prices were a little high ($100 for a necklace with a little silver pendant?!), but if you're looking for really original pieces and that happens to be your price range, then it's perfect. Staff was really friendly and willing to show you anything you wanted to look at, even though it may be clear you're just window shopping.

Yelp
SCORE! What a great store! I had been searching high and low for about 4 weeks for a unique piece of jewelry to give to my girlfriend for xmas. I spent a lot of time trying to seek out local artists at farmers markets but never being satisfied with what I found. When I walked into Accents I knew within 2minutes I had found the right place. In no time I was comparing 4 different things I liked ranging from $60-$250. I got exactly what I wanted and I was in and out within 30minutes. The saleswoman was super nice and very helpful too. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time yesterday and was blown away at all the beautiful creations! The staff was extremely friendly and talented. They had options for women, men and children. Reasonable prices... absolutely perfect!

Yelp
I love to stop in here every time I'm in Santa Monica visiting my brother and buy new earrings. They have the most diverse selection of simple post/stud earrings that I've ever found. And even better yet they don't irritate my ears like so many other earrings do. I'm a little bummed their prices have risen so much (a couple years ago they were around ~14-16 bucks a pair and now it seems to average ~25 bucks a pair) but still love the designs. They even had Harry Potter themed earrings last year (lightning bolt and death eater mark). Love this store.

Yelp
I've just begun studying wax carving for jewelry; I've been sharing my NYC resources with my jewelry designer friend in LA, so when I came out to LA she brought me to Accents, where she took Lost Wax classes. The friendly staff lit up when she returned to retrieve some of her sliver cast pieces, praising her work while I stood back confused but my surroundings. This is hardly the sort of wax casting places I'm use to here in the gritty diamond district of Manhattan; this is a bright and airy retail store. With their terrible name and tacky website I was presently surprised by the tasteful collection of jewelry... in particular everything in the high end ring case and the earrings hanging in the window near the door...

Francine G.

Yelp
I like their jewelry. Not their attitude. My husband got me a gold chain and a locket here four years ago. Recently we had a diamond ring custom made here for our anniversary which I love. The one of the loops on the clasp of the chain broke so I took it in to be fixed. They charged me $10 to replace the loop because she said it was "weak". Ummm....the loop was no more than 1 cm which I doubt is the equivalent of the current price of gold. Plus she replaced it with the wrong loop which I had her redo with a smaller loop. Might I mention we spent over $450 for the chain and pendant and over $800 for the diamond ring yet they want to charge me $10 for a minor loop that took 3 seconds to fix. No thank you. I can find jewelry someplace else much cooler on Abbott Kinney and get ripped off there.

Yelp
Cool place for buying local jewelry but don't bother taking the classes! Took the lost wax casting class offered at this store. All I can say is SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! The Instructor is lacking any real teaching ability and had absolutely no curriculum!!! Instruction this technical should be well thought out and presented in a concise manner. We taught ourselves to drip wax and that is about it. Nothing about actual casting techniques, materials, tools etc. NOTHING! Steven Hanna may be a good designer but that does not quality him to teach. Very disappointing class for the money.

Yelp
Accents is always my "go to" store when in need for a new piece of uniquely handmade jewelry. Every time I visit the store I am in awe of all the new pieces and artists that are showcased. This store is very special and nowhere close to a typical commercial jewelry store, in the sense that that it is more of a wearable art studio where you can purchase creative one-of-a-kind/custom hand sculpted pieces. All of the employees are not just employees but designers themselves and sell their line in the store! How cool is that!? You can actually speak with the designer if purchasing one of their pieces and find out the process and love that went into making it which makes it more meaningful. They have studied under the head designer/owner Steven Hanna, who teaches his "lost wax technique" workshop after business hours in the store. It is open to the public and I took the classes myself and was able to develop my own line of jewelry and create custom made pieces for family and friends for holidays! I am a huge fan of Steven Hanna's work, and so is my husband...so much that he went to Steven to create a one-of-a-kind engagement ring for me! Since then, he has custom made my wedding ring, and also a 3 year anniversary ring that flows into the family of my wedding rings. You can really see his love of surfing and the ocean come out in his organic free-flowing designs. Anytime I am over in Santa Monica I make a point to stop in the shop and see what is new, as there are always new pieces weekly.

Yelp
They were very friendly and said they would make an earring of mine into a necklace -- for a very reasonable rate. I'll keep you posted!

Yelp
First time visiting this place and the customer service wasn't great. As a jewelry designer myself, I didn't get good vibes from the staff. The jewelry is nice, but only the gentleman said hello. The girls never said anything even while standing right next to them. Not even a smiles. This is one thing I look for when I spend my money in these shops. I probably won't be back.

Yelp
I've been here 2-3 times and bought quite a few items. Beautiful, cute jewelry, but way too overpriced for what it is. Three not five stars bc of the uppity staff, notably Steve who was hilariously rude for no apparent reason (other customers noticed and were perplexed as well). The women working there have always been sweet, but I'll have trouble coming back after my last experience.
