Accursio Ristorante

Amazing dining experience! All of the dishes were of a very high quality and delicious! It was impressive to see traditional Sicilian flavours and dishes presented in a modern way, while still preserving the authentic taste and flavours. Wonderful and very diverse wine selection, there’s an option for everyone’s taste. The service was exquisite, staff members being very professional and friendly/welcoming at the same time. Sommelier had a great wine knowledge and his selections of wines to pair with our menu and our preferences was impressive. Definitely would recommend everyone to experience dining at Accursio restaurant!

This meal is now among the top 5 (or top 3?) of my life. My wife and me drove around Sicily for two weeks and from the very beginning of our planning we had this place marked. Modica is a beautiful city build around the mountains with narrow streets that become restaurants in summer nights. Accursio is a small, humble restaurant with perfect lightning. We asked for the tasting menu with wine pairing. The experience were seamless from the very beginning, dish after dish the chef and his team startled us with flavors and the aesthetic of the presentation. A tomato water (yes, tomato water!) to cleanse your palate, a oyster shot with tonic water and almond milk froth, a cappelli d'angelo pasta with raw shrimp and caviar and a perfectly cooked veal were among my favorites. All combined with a great selection of whites, sparkling and red wines. Such a beautiful experience that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Grazie, Accursio

The food bursts in great flavors and textures, and super cheap for what you get out. Even simple dishes are bloody delicious. The location is superb, interior as well. Definitely worth 5 stars (and it’s Michelin star). Don’t miss out on the veg creme with octopus for starter!

Truly exceptional. The entire dinner from start to finish is an experience. The chef is a devoted artist telling a story, it was a joy to try to listen to what he had to say. Among the favorites was the Onion and breadcrumbs (wow, I almost cried tasting that one) and the Sicilian spaghetti with anchovy sauce. Staff was great, ambiance was great, and good wine selection. Overall, 🙌🏻

We enjoyed a delicious 6 course tasting menu. The dishes are mostly set but you can have one choice. The food is prepared meticulously and with lots of passion: that tastes delicious. Unfortunately portions are a little bit small. Service is very warm sind welcoming. Definitely a recommendation and the best place for dinner in Modica.

A little disappointed not as good as other one star Michelin food… the squid was over cooked and gone rubbery and some flavours lacked the punch. So that’s why I think it’s overpriced :)

The photos are not that nice, but it does not reflect this amazing food. It's just a gourmet Sicilian cuisine. Everything is fresh and simple, but very very good.

As a Michelin 1 star restaurant in the heart of Modica, I was quite excited for dinner at Accursio. While not totally blown away - mainly from the price of the menu and wine pairing as compared to its other counterpart Michelin peers on the island, Accursio is still a solid choice to try the best of the region. The interior really has not changed much at all in many years and not sure the dishes have themselves. Although of high quality and very good, I was just not blown away. Service and staff were all kind, knowledgeable, and helpful during my dining experience. There was zero language barrier and all smiles. I am grateful for the dining opportunity there but if given the choice between their peers I might choose another one or just opt for trying a lunch service and not dinner.

This is tough. How could a Michelin starred restaurant not get 5 stars? The biggest reason I suppose is there where no epiphanies. The other reason is one course out of eight was pomodora. In my opinion each course in a Michelin restuarant should stand on it's own. This course was the least inspired pasta I had in a week of Sicily. The evening was great and everyone was very professional. I feel eight courses filled both of us well. The wine was paired well. We did have to shut the wine down I think after 5 or 6 courses. The lovely young bride was rapidly descending pasted buzzed. Would I go again? Probably not. These kind of restaurants are experience based and I am in search of a food epiphany and I didn't get it here.

Excellent vegetarian friendly restaurant in the heart of Modica. Beautiful interior and excellent service. Across the street from the wonderful chocolatier in a side alley.
