Google
"Now that was a tasty burger." Ace No. 3 did not disappoint. The much awaited for visit finally happened today, and I opted for The Ace, which is the closest to an In n Out Double Double on the menu. 😁 The meat was slightly overcooked, but the burger was fantastic. The topping were great, the comeback sauce complemented everything, and the bun was sturdy enough to hold it without disintegrating. The fries were great; the onion rings were average. Parking on site is very limited, but there's plenty of parking in the nearby neighborhood - just watch out for restrictions on certain sides of the street! I'd highly recommend and look forward to returning on my next trip to Charlotte. 👏 👏

The burgers at this place are absolutely sensational, and the fries are delightfully crispy—truly amazing! However, I was a bit let down by the limited selection of beverages. The parking situation can be quite daunting, but don't let that deter you. On my visit, the cashier seemed a bit edgy, and I noticed the staff could have done a better job of replenishing the ketchup supply. Honestly, the ketchup packets are just not sufficient, which was a little disappointing. Despite these issues, I’m definitely planning to return, though I’m still apprehensive about the parking. That’s part of the unique charm! And I must say, the ice cream was surprisingly good, making it a worthwhile visit overall.

Google
My fiancé and I always rate new burger joints we try. We take everything into consideration, burger, buns, fries, drink, aesthetic, and service. This was a solid 7.5! Only change would be the bun, maybe needs toasting? Anyways! We loved it! Great service, great taste, and the atmosphere was great! They even have a covered patio area that has water bowls and tennis balls for your furry friend!

Google
Ace is the best in Charlotte! The burger was super juicy, the bun was soft but held up, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell they actually care about what they’re serving. Onion rings were crispy, service was quick, and the whole place just feels dialed in. If you’re craving a solid burger that hits the spot, this is the one.

Google
Really solid burger joint. It’s a smash-style patty which is my favorite, but like other smash burgers be aware the meat is a bit drier than a typical patty. The toppings were excellent, and I appreciated the option to add jalapeños. The bun was a bit firm which prevented the burger from being sloppy to hold, though it did affect the texture when you bite into it, but I much prefer that over a messy grab. The fries were decent but nothing to write home about. I have heard good things about the shakes but did not have the opportunity to try one myself. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, it feels like a somewhat upscale dive and they have nice soul/funk tunes playing. The main caveat I have with this place is that it is pricey as the sides are not included with the price of a burger.

Google
The burgers are classic and traditional, if you’re looking for a good place for a date or just to try traditional American style burners ace is where you should be. I will say though, the buns are not my favorite… too doughy and overall too much. But super cute space and insta worthy.

Google
Such a nice place to spend time with family playing games while you wait for your food!! By the way, the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! The burgers are top notch, BUT don't short change those fries!!!! The BEST FRIES!!! PERIOD!! After you eat all your food like you're supposed to LOL, get you a Boozy Shake!! The Caramel and Strawberry Shortcake are the best!!

Google
The food here is great! I was traveling from Utah for work and always try to find the best burger spot wherever I go. It came down to Ace No. 3 and Bae’s Burgers in Mooresville. Both were awesome, but Bae’s had a slight edge in flavor. That said, Ace gives you a bigger burger, and it’s still a top-tier option. The ladies working there were super friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Shout out to the 8:30pm Thursday crew for hooking it up with my "complex" order! I had an odd ask of a veggie burger without the patty (because I really was craving just a basic af sandwich). They were able to give it as a lettuce wrap for free (it was literally just lettuce, tomato, and onions & sauce) & I appreciate it so so soooo much! My SO loves this place otherwise though & ordered his usual - cheeseburger with all toppings & fries. We love this place! We'll be back over the weekend to grab a soft serve - apparently one of the best in clt!

Yelp
I prefer not to receive on 1 visit as I am for an average and mean. Drawbacks: Limited parking Cleaning of tables has to occur for such limited seating. Especially since it's winter/spring and running to the patio isn't an option. Food can be cold but they'll take it back from what I saw with no complaints. At any rate, don't cook so many fries at once as people would prefer them hot and fresh. Hence, my burger order online and I said I'd order fries & tots upon arrival. Those fries appeared to have been sitting then a male customer returned his so I felt vindicated omitting those fries. Eventually as more people poured in the same guy, which has to be in management, cleaned the remaining part of the table. I feel bad the shakes take the time to make and there's no dedicated shake maker. They all help as needed. What works: Menu offering that includes sweet potato tater tots. Maybe onion rings will arrive soon. There's a young man that cleans and works hard. I wanted to ask if he's the manager. Their music selection. Inviting and Inclusive. Free use of board games along the wall to the patio. West Africans should love the bun. It sbrioche but akin to agege bread of Nigeria. P.S. I think the comeback sauce is A1 and mayo.

Yelp
Went here to try out their smash burger today with my son. First off there's only 3 parking spots behind the building. Luckily we came early and got a spot. The shop looks small from outside but it's pretty spacious compared to the view. I ordered a triple and some fries. Man the burger was juicy and flavorful. I got some garlic mayo and man let me tell you that sauce pair so well with the fries. The fries was nice and crispy. I gotta say this place is right up there with the best of them in terms of smash burgers. Come get you a triple and don't forget the comeback sauce and garlic mayo!

Yelp
Friendly service and a cute location! The burger was quite salty though. That will keep me from going back. The fries were on point. Easy to order online with in store pick up.

Yelp
Always good eats at Ace! I dropped by and did a build my own burger this time. Which was essentially a normal cheeseburger with jalapenos added lol. I didn't get too creative, but it was delicious!!! Also got an order of fries. I love that they have other options too like sweet potato fries, tots and some other things. The food always takes a few minutes because they're making it fresh and I like that. I do usually stress out over parking here but you make it work. Ace usually doesn't miss, so it's a great go to spot for a great burger!!!

Yelp
Can't complain! When you want a great simple burger this is the place for it. Bun great, burger great, onion straws great. The restaurant is super cute and has great space for outdoor seating. I like the options they have and the burger is a nice size for the price. I wish the comeback sauce was a little bit thicker but other than that the proportions on the burger were on point. I'm so happy when we were in town we got to try this place.

Yelp
Just an all around incredible experience. We had the pleasure of driving through Charlotte and stumbled upon so many amazing restaurants. We landed in Ace No 3 and could not have been happier. If you love high quality, simple burgers this is the place to be. This place relies on the quality of ingredients and execution. The burger was unbelievable, from the textures and flavors, everything was perfect. The fries were great and the sauces were equally as delicious. Coupled with a comfortable place to eat, it really was a 5-star experience. Don't hesitate to give them a try. Thanks!

Yelp
Aces never disappoints. I always get the ace burger and it's so big. The fries are fresh and I enjoy sitting outside at their tables. The service is pretty quick as well! Great burger spot!

Yelp
Perfect hamburger, fries and ambiance for the whole family with lots of board games!! Service was fast and they were delicious! We ordered The Ace, and No. 3 with fries and onions. Really recommended

Yelp
OMG YUM. I don't normally crave burgers but if I do, I'm heading to Ace No 3. The burger is the right amount of filling and the house sauce is the perfect addition. I sat outside at the picnic tables so there are some seating options but not a ton. The fries are perfectly crispy too. Want to go back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
They do it again folks, another fantastic visit. Tonight I tried the Belmont chili burger and it's fantastic. The chili does have beans which I'm ok with, and has diced onions that are a nice touch. PSA - you will need at least 14 napkins while consuming but that's part of the charm of a chili burger. The fries were crunchy and fresh and pair amazingly well with the come back sauce and garlic Mayo. All workers are always friendly and quick and ensure every guest is taken care of. I'm not saying I moved around the corner solely because of the proximity to a great burger but it sure didn't hurt!
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
Small menu but done right. Loved the onion straws, would highly recommend. The sauce was really good as well. The burger meat was seasoned well, the cheese was perfectly melted. Parking is super limited. But street parking is available around the location

Yelp
Omg what can I say... this place is absolutely delicious. I'm not a beef person, but I wanted to try this place based off of previous reviews. The Ace was juicy, hot and flavorful. It is very satisfying. The fries were hot (just like I like them). I am in love with their cookies and cream shake. I will def be back!! Suggestion: Add a good turkey burger and this would be A1!

Yelp
Ace Burger: 4/5 - Very solid burger. Reminded me of In n Out (but bigger). RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Definitely getting this again) 4 - Good (Would get it again) 3 - Ok (Might give it another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Yelp
I stopped by since I was in the area. The Ace Burger seemed bigger than I remembered, but it's probably just me. Their specialty burger and fries are just an outstanding pair! Also their house made pickles are delicious--tangy and crunchy, but next time I might ask for less on the burger to savor the rest of the flavors. The fries are a 10/10 and in my opinion are probably some of the best from a burger place. I'll definitely come again.

Yelp
Just had my first burger here. Quality, fresh ingredients done right. What more can a burger lover ask for?!
google avatar

Yelp
This just felt like a happy place, from the delicious smells to the friendly workers. The burger was very juicy, filling, and satisfying. Additionally, the onion straws were flavorful and the perfect level of crispiness. I enjoyed every bite of my meal!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had just made it into Charlotte on a Friday night and had a taste for a good burger, so naturally I went to Yelp and typed in best burger and a few places popped up but this place had the most appetizing photos. As we made our way to Ace No 3, we prayed that we hadn't been bamboozled by the pictures. We made it to the restaurant around 9pm and it was busy but a lot of people were getting their food to go. Parking is limited, so keep that in mind when you come. We both ordered the Ace burger with bacon and a side of fries. The burgers looked mouthwatering as I took my own picture to post for you guys. The first bite caused chill bumps to rise on my skin as I savored the blast of flavor entering into my mouth. The comeback sauce, with the pickles, cheese, meat and the bread tasted phenomenal! There was also so much burger! I thought they would be small in the original photos I was looking at but one burger will be enough to fill you up. The fries were good but not the best I've had. This is top 3 one of the best burgers I've ever had. I will return here my next trip to Charlotte.

Yelp
Love this location! Employees are super friendly and great at recommending things! Burgers were so amazing, honestly my favorite spot! Fries are super good here too! Parking is a little small, but this location feels very homey :)

Yelp
Great food, their burgers are great and the service is good, although it is an order at the counter place. And the inside is nice, just a great place overall.
google avatar

Jeannette S.

Yelp
I'm visiting from Southern California. Food was on point! Great flavor, onion rings delicious ,service was with a smile. They have games to play like checkers or Jenga. Come check them out! 10 out of 10! Ace No 3 Belmont Village is the place! I forget to take a picture because we were so hungry! .....

Sierra A.

Yelp
Service is bad went in to order food and workers got upset asking if we wanted burgers and mad because they already turned the grills off left with nothing
google avatar

Leila R.

Yelp
Could not even review the food or service here because I was completely ignored! The guy who looked like a customer was standing on one side of the counter on the phone did not even acknowledge me!?! Stood at the counter and he went behind it, so I thought "OK he is finally going to acknowledge my presence..." Nope. He opened a cabinet behind the counter and then walked right by me w/o so much as a look or a word. So, I left. This place doesn't want my business, I am happy to not give it to them. Absolutely awful location; no parking to speak of and if this is how bad the service is, I'm glad I wasn't able to order anything because I can only imagine what the wait for actual food would be like or the quality, since they just don't seem to care.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
One of my favorite burger spots in Charlotte. I got a double cheeseburger and stole some of my friend's fries and his Oreo milkshake and everything was very good. The burger melted in your mouth, the fries were just crispy and seasoned enough, and the milkshake was absolutely delicious. Probably one the best I've tried in awhile. The vibe inside is very casual with just a bit of a wait. Parking is tricky too, there are only 4 spots in the back parking lot so street parking is the way to go. Very good though I highly recommend!
google avatar

Giovanna T.

Yelp
We had tried the Ace No. 3 location in Concord Mills a few years ago, and I recall enjoying the burgers, so we decided to try the Belmont location. The burgers were as good as I remembered them. Our meal was prepared quickly and the cashier was friendly. Unfortunately the fries were too salty. The seating area is not very spacious, but there's outdoor seating. This location does not have its own lot but there's free street parking in the area.
google avatar

Swale E.

Yelp
The food is pretty solid here. I had it for the first time a few weeks ago! It's not fast food so the food is pretty fresh and the shakes are great! The service overall could be a little better but I would definitely return !
google avatar

Cynthia R.

Yelp
I've heard abt these burgers so had to try for myself. It certainly didn't disappoint. Cooked to order and so juicy. And I love thin onion rings, so seeing that they had onion straws was perfect. The sweet tea was perfection, and I like to consider myself a sweet tea connoisseur lol, so for me to like it says a lot. Only thing I didn't care for was the seating arrangement. Only stools, and they are very low so if you have bad knees, or elderly, might want to get your food to go. Also parking is pretty non existent, only a couple spaces behind the building, so if you go on a busy day, street parking may prove to be a challenge.
google avatar

Kamilia L.

Yelp
The ACE is phenomenal. It's a well seasoned burger with a copious amount of cheese and grilled onions and a great sauce. I loved the seasoned fries, too. They have a great unique flavor and texture.
google avatar

Na'Kole W.

Yelp
Today was my first visit and the burger was AMAZING!!!! I had the chili burger and I got a runny egg on top. Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had! I'm not a fan of the fries (I prefer thicker, softer fries) but that doesn't take away from the review at all! My food was fresh and I didn't have to wait long. The restaurant is cozy and there is indoor and outdoor seating. I took my food to go, but from what I saw, there was enough seating for a typical lunch crowd. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Vidhi N.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed their confetti cake milkshake, but that's where it ended. I didn't really like the burger that much and the sweet potato tots weren't great in my opinion.
google avatar

Yelp
Un-Be-Lieve-A-Ble. Wow. This burger was absolute perfection, so much so, that I had to skip over all the stuff I need to review just to sing it's praises, as I just had it for the first time last night. This place recently landed on Charlotte's Top Places to eat list on Yelp, #23 I think, and I can absolutely see why. This is exactly what a flat top style burger should be, specifically "The Ace" which is what I ordered upon reading the description. It's a simple place, there's not really any kind of private parking lot, and it's tucked back in a neighborhood with just a couple other spots. GPS will get you there just fine, park along one of the side streets and be mindful you're only allowed to park on one side of the street. Inside, be ready for the delicious smells. The menu is not extensive, it doesn't need to be. As I said earlier, I ordered the "Ace" which is clearly their specialty. Double patties with melty american cheese, grilled onions, pickles slices, and their "comeback" burger sauce on a brioche bun. I ordered fries with mine, and I think that is the move. These are the very crispy slightly battered kind, which is definitely my favorite. Beer is available, but I just went for a fountain drink. Don't love that everything is a la carte, wish there was a combo available to make it a little cheaper. It was about 16 bucks. That said. Money well spent. My burger and fries came out fresh and hot after about a 15 minute wait at 8pm. The burger LOOKED perfect. My first bite confirmed that. It was PERFECT. Cheese beautifully melted, patties with a nice brown crust on them, burger neatly assembled, plenty of grilled onion and pickle. Just check my pics, and you'll know I'm right. I'll be coming back to this place probably any time I have a reason to go to Charlotte, especially after a Panthers game. This place was THE MOVE.

J K.

Yelp
Very average burger. The fries were good with an okay milkshake (it wasn't mixed well enough and the chunky texture made it hard to drink without a spoon. The buns were cold and not very fresh. The patties were decent, but tasted like something you'd get at a fast food point. The sauce they put in their burger (comeback sauce) has a bit of a sour profile. This place is a hard pass at 20 for a burger, fries and a shake for one person. You're better off going to Harriett's. Also a few other points to mention. They don't have their own parking lot, so you'll have to find street parking. Another thing to note is that tipping has been out of control lately for places where you order at the counter, but I still like to help out where I can since I'm fortunate enough to do well in my career. However, just note that nothing warrants a tip here. Once you order, you're expected to pick up the burger at the counter. Everything is self serve and there's also a trash can nearby to dispose of your items and place your tray on top. I regret tipping here and will no longer tip in places where no further value is being added.

Yelp
We had the Ace Burger and BYO burger. Burgers were big and seasoned to perfection. I Love the Ace's sauce. Boyfriend did not like but he's not a mayo fan. But if you are, you must try it! And the burgers are priced lower in to comparison to other restaurants in the area. -Fries and Onion straws were crispy, just how we like them! -Sweet tea was real southern sweet tea, sweetened perfectly. -Two local craft can beers, an IPA and Cider. Price was a bit steep but on par with Charlotte prices. -Staff: the girl who took our order was sweet. Our food came up quickly. And the manager checked on us too. All Good! -Only negatives. Parking is limited. You can park on the street but pay attention to signs. And inside is small. We went on a weekday, I imagine if busy on the weekends seating would be limited and it wouldn't be good for larger groups. You would want to take out! Otherwise this is a delicious burger restaurant in city of Charlotte that I highly recommend you try if you want a dang good burger!
google avatar

Shelby D.

Yelp
These are my favorite burgers in Charlotte. Ther are flavorful, filling, and messy. Service is always friendly and prompt whenever we go. It deff gives a cute diner vibe with awesome 90s music every time I go! I love this place and always make a special trip during the week because their parking is so limited. If you can Uber or walk there, it's a better option than driving if you're expecting parking.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
How depressing! They were moderately busy when we walked in. There was no other customers at the counter and no one at the register. The 4 employees did not even acknowledge us. I sat at the counter while the workers just ignored us. The best was some side eye... 10 minutes later we left and smelled like greasy french fries hours later. How does this place get good reviews??? So glad they helped us choose to not have that nasty old grease inside our bodies.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the veggie burger! I'm not a vegetarian but I love trying these options when I don't feel like having meat. The location is perfect for a dinner or snack when I'm hanging out at Super Abari around the corner. The milkshakes are also awesome so definitely get one to share. The workers are very friendly and helpful and apologized for the long wait because they were so busy. Definitely a local staple that we love to support for the Belmont community!
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
BEST burger I have had in Charlotte. The bun is warm and slightly grilled. The cheese, pickles and sauce all melt together perfectly. Can't beat a thin, juicy burger patty. Staff was great as wel
google avatar

Nino R.

Yelp
Best burger I've had in Charlotte. I visited during an off time so I was the only person there. Fantastic. Service was quick and counterperson was patient while I navigated the menu. Double cheeseburger, fries and a coke. Cheeseburger was dripping with juice. Cheese was perfectly melted. French fries were sublime. All of it was made fresh to order. Nothing tasted like it was sitting for an extended period of time. Even the soda was crispy...
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
Updating my review for Ace no 3. The first time I tried I wasn't impressed and thought it was over-hyped, but I gave it another shot and really enjoyed the burger this time around. They seemed to have changed the bun (which was something I didn't enjoy the first time I tried it), and it's really nice and fluffy now. Not one of those will get stuck to the roof of your mouth type of buns like I felt the old one was. Burger was great. Fries are always solid and we also got a chocolate shake this time that was really tasty. I'm glad I gave Ace another try and will be coming back when I'm craving a burger.

Yelp
Seems to be a favorite but for me it just didn't hit like that. It wasn't bad or anything I'm just missing the 5 star wow factor that everyone else had. Got the ace burger, veggie burger and fries. I'm a pickle lover so I ordered extra pickles but was heartbroken to learn that they're sweet pickles and not dill. I asked the young man behind the register what the comeback sauce was and his reply was "oh the comeback sauce it's like a sauce...it's good" so that didn't really help me much. Got it on the side and good thing because neither of us liked it. The burgers were good. Veggie burger has a little kick to it. Staff was nice. A gentleman in a branded Ace hoodie checked in on us and thanked us as we left. The music was good and the location (although hard to find parking) is nice too. I've never been in this area before.
google avatar

Britney V.

Yelp
Great spot for a classic burger! I got the double cheeseburger with sweet potato tater tots. The burger was great the tater tots were a little on the sweet side kinda wish I had gotten fries instead. The service was great. Very friendly and the food came out pretty quick. The weather was beautiful the day that I went so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the day.
google avatar

Cathy O.

Yelp
Ordered the Plant burger on a gluten free bun. Added tomato, lettuce, ketchup and mustard. Burger was absolutely delish! Girls at the counter were very nice. I will most definetly be back!
google avatar

Rena H.

Yelp
It has been a week since we ate here, and I'm still thinking about this burger daily. My husband and I both got "The Ace" and added bacon. This was the best burger we have had in a long time. The bun is fresh and the right size, the 2 patties are grilled to juicy perfection, and the melted cheese + comeback sauce + pickle combo adds all the right flavors. We also tried the sweet potato tots and French fries, both with sides of comeback sauce, and they didn't disappoint. We can't wait to come back here - it's so good that it might prevent us from trying out other new places in CLT when we visit.

Neema B.

Yelp
I've been hearing great things about Ace No 3 since they opened and finally got a chance to stop in. We visited on a Sunday and there was no wait, plus there was plenty of seating inside and out. Parking is a little challenging as the lot only has 2-3 spaces and one of them is handicapped. But this is a nice location in the heart of Belmont. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and as we were most likely looking like we could use some assistance in deciding what to order, the gentleman taking orders offered to give us the run down. It seemed he may have been the owner, but I haven't done my research so k can't say for sure. I ended up getting the ace burger and fries with a side of comeback sauce for dipping. I also tried the strawberry adult shake and that was really good. As for the burger, it was good, but if I return I'd like to try the Belmont burger. I usually prefer a messy burger with chili, slaw, etc, but went with the ace burger since it's the feature. It just needed a little something more. Lettuce, topmost or maybe? IDK. It didn't blow me away and that's what I'd hoped for. Fries were good, they were crispy like Burger King fries. I'd give this place another chance.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Stopped here after hearing many good things about them. Ordered the Belmont burger and added a runny, over easy egg on top. Also ordered a side of fries and an adults milkshake. All items were really good! Located on a corner lot in the Belmont neighborhood of Charlotte. The building has about 2-4 parking spaces in the rear of the building, but mostly street parking is available. Staff was very welcoming, nice and helpful with the menu. Even gave a rundown of the menu options, which was very helpful! Would recommend getting a good burger at Ace No. 3 if you're in the area.
google avatar

Leslie B.

Yelp
Ace was voted Best Burger in Charlotte in 2020. Curious, I hopped in. I decided to try the CLT dog & wow! The hot dog is huge! The fixings great. Standard, the CLT dog is coleslaw, chili and onions. I added mustard. So juicy and filling. I will be back to try one of their infamous shakes. The interior was simple but eclectic. Service quick and provided with a smile. This location is within walking distance if my co-working space so I will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
Came here craving a burger.. and a good burger is what I got! My husband and I came here on a whim on Saturday night. It was not crowded and plenty of street parking available. Ordering at the counter was easy and the young lady explained the different options. We chose to get one ace burger with fries and one plain kids burger. I'll start off by saying the bun was very good! It tasted like a potato bun. The meat was good quality as well. I enjoyed the ace sauce, it was tangy! It was a bit expensive for what we got .. almost $9 for just a burger. But other than that it was good. We will be back to try the milkshakes.

Yelp
As expected . . . Magnificent and the REAL DEAL! It's too bad my friend and I weren't quite ready for dinner, but we WERE ready for a celebratory milkshake. And the ones we had here at Ace No3 in Belmont Village (the original, I believe) DID NOT DISAPPOINT! By the looks of things, I won't be disappointed when I return (soon I hope) for one of these burgers. And MY OH MY! . . . those fries and onion rings look SPECTACULAR too Incredibly welcoming & friendly folk work here. I bet you won't be disappointed either. Ace No 3, for burgers, fries, and a shake . . . THAT'S WHERE IT'S AT!
