It was okay place wasn't bad but had hard time trying to get good view. Also 2 of the 3 bands we wanted to see didn't show up and we were never informed about the change. We drove 3 hours to be there we should have been informed about the changes. Drinks were also kind of pricey. But overall decent venue and location.

Google
Saw Zakk Wylde here!! I gotta say this is one of the cleanest, well organized, and friendliest venues of have been to. Went in thinking it was going to smell like a beer soaked dive bar. It was the opposite! Well ventilated, no old beer odors, staff was friendly, tons of security! There are many options for how and when you can enter (depending on how much you want to pay) for shows. There is seating if you want to pay for that, there are four different bars (including the lounge) to choose from. Beer was EXPENSIVE (but also expected). There were 3 or 4 clearly marked exits (in case of an emergency)!! I would definitely go see another show there, 100%!! It's a good spot! Check it out!

Google
The employees are so nice, not pushy at all. The security//bouncers actually tried to help us find a closer spot to the stage. When we couldn't find a closer spot, they were nice enough to let us be slightly in the walkway as long as we were respectful when they walked by.

Google
Amazing venue! No bad seats in the house. Drinks available but no food( at the show I was at) lines very quick, security was very efficient. Love this place

Google
Had a killer time at the Bad Suns show with my daughter ❤️ small/medium sized venue, dark and loud! Kiddos are welcome and there are drinks available with id We were hanging in the back and didn’t have a great view One of the staff welcomed us to the Handicap section (which was nearly empty) and gave us a killer spot to sit and enjoy! My daughter had such a great experience because of this! Thank you, we will be back 🙇🏻‍♂️😎

Google
An absolutely fantastic venue, incredible acoustics! Great drinks! Had an amazing time with the whole family. Definitely will come back for more shows.

Google
Great venue, great staff and security etc. Their production and lighting/audio quality is always on point. Highly recommend!

Google
Great venue! Awesome staff! Super clean. Will definitely go back. In a great location and parking was easy. A great venue to see your favorite band up close and personal. I just want to give a huge shout out to Travis for going above and beyond during my son's very first concert. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel so welcome and comfortable. My son was a little nervous, but Travis's kindness, attention, and friendly energy truly made the night unforgettable for him-and for me. It's not every day that someone takes the time to make a child feel like a VIP at an event like this. Thank you for making his first concert so special. We'll never forget it!

Yelp
Great place to see a show. it does have a dive bar feel, but not in a bad way. Came to see Tyler Rich on a friday. Got there early because our group likes to be up at the rail. There is a bar inside the venue and the crew was quick and pleasant. Sound was good and the venue was just the right size for a more intimate hometown feel. I would definitely recommend seeing a show here, and will do so again in the future.

Yelp
Ace of Spades- think dive bar but concert venue! Just saw Jessie Reyez here for the first time! Mt friends and I were in the VIP section and it was a true vibe! Everything was great, the show, the venue and the staff!! Even bought merchandise and it was super easy to do so! Would deff come back to see more shows!

Yelp
The only thing better than seeing your childhood crush perform on stage is going with your boo who surprised you with tickets. We saw Joey McIntyre (of NKOTB) at Ace of Spades & had an amazing evening, no notes. The venue is situated on the same block as several bars & restaurants, & feels like a safe area. Parking lot is directly across the street for a $7 flat fee; far less expensive than anything I've paid in other cities. Although most people stood, it was nice to have the option to sit as chairs were put out for this show. (Some friends who've been here before told me there aren't usually seats on the main floor.) The venue was properly ventilated & the A/C was cranked up comfortably. Good sound & lighting. We had a great view, as our VIP tix got us within a few rows of the stage. Bathroom stalls were plentiful. The fan base is predominantly female, so I appreciated the all-gender set-up & being able to use whatever was available instead of waiting in a long women's line. From the bouncers to the bartenders & event coordinators, everyone was super chill & helpful. Heads up that the bar is cashless. Joey & his fans had some serious fun in SacTown thanks to Ace of Spades!

Yelp
Great little venue for a show. Good vibes all around, good sound, good setup. Special shout out for the Good Luck Lounge which for a small fee you can enter early and relax on a plush couch with a cocktail (and sometimes get let into the show a little early, which is a bonus if the show is GA). Staff is very on top of their game and accommodating.

Yelp
I've been to Ace of Spades a couple of times now and my favorite was definitely Taylor's Party. It was so fun singing and dancing to all of Taylor's song. Such a good vibe! The place is on the smaller side, the ambience was okay, and the service was good. I haven't tried the food, so can't say much about that buy overall it was a fun experience.

Yelp
Showed up for a Yung Gravy concert. My friends and I got there about half an hour before the concert was scheduled to start, so the line wrapped around the block. It took about 20 minutes to get inside, which wasn't too bad. However, security does a very bad job here and the bartenders do not have the professional ethics it takes to safely serve people alcohol. A good number of people inside were obviously way too high on hallucinogenic drugs to have bodily control of themselves and many others were clearly blackout drunk. Several people around me fit into this category and were still getting served multiple drinks. The concert started over an hour late and it was not enjoyable due to the lack of spatial awareness of those around me. My friends and I left about a half hour after the headliner showed up. I will not be back.

Yelp
All in all the venue is fine but nothing to obsess over, but all venues get drowned out by a good act anyway.

Yelp
This is a great little venue for live entertainment. We had tickets for a concert and entered through the secret door from the lounge next door. It's a standing room only venue with ADA and Vip seating. Security is friendly and drinks were good. Will definitely be back for more shows. Sides more. Bathrooms are coed so heads up if that freaks you out
google avatar

Whitney D.

Yelp
*This is a cashless venue. Ace of Spades is managed by Live Nation now, I try to avoid this venue unless it's someone I REALLY want to see. The sold-out shows are miserable; there is less standing room, but it seems like they sell the same amount of tickets as when there was more standing room. You used to be able to go upstairs for free, but I think you have to pay for it now. There is another raised area on the floor. I think some of those are ADA seats, but I think you have to pay for the other seats that aren't ADA. Don't forget your ID or license, they check it before you go in and take your picture. It's a security precaution, a lot of bars and clubs do the same thing. A few positives - the merch table is in the hallway that leads to the outdoor smoking patio. There is also a smoking patio. If you need to smoke or need some semi-fresh air, you can go outside. The bathrooms are gender-neutral, the ones on the left have stalls, and the ones on the right have urinals. There are a few parking lots that you can pay for, but they are small and fill up quickly. There is street parking, but most of it is metered, pay attention to the parking signs. There are a ton of great bars and restaurants to eat. There are a few sit-down spots, and Vito's pizza is always good. There are also hot dog vendors outside the venue after the show. The Good Luck Lounge right next door just opened, you can buy an add-on to go there during the concert. From what I've read, you can't see the stage from there, so you're paying extra for a lounge. I believe the Good Luck Lounge is open on non-show days as well.

Yelp
Music venue spot located in Midtown Sacramento with tons of other restaurants and bars nearby. We've recently seen Tinashe and Kolohe Kai here. Parking isn't too bad, there's street parking, and paid parking lots. There's a burgers and brew, cafe Bernardo's, and a Mexican restaurant surrounding it. Tickets to concerts here are pretty affordable and there are multiple bars there. The upstairs is now a VIP area, in the past it was just a bar. There are multiple bathrooms and a somewhat large floor. We find it easier to stay in the back and you can still see the artist. Drinks are pretty affordable. Service is quick and feels safe!

Yelp
Sad to see ace spades in such poor condition. Been coming here for years and its downright disgusting and hostile. Sticky floors, People being over-served, packed in like sardine cans. Also absolutely nowhere to sit anymore. The upstairs area was blocked off for renovations July 10, 2024. Security rude and useless. They gender neutralized the open bathrooms and witnessed several drunk guys looking around no security then run into the ladies room. The sound system was good but not worth all the disgusting things, bad staff and a/c was non operational. Friend caught rona here once few years back and its even worse now. Over capacity 103F outside 130 inside no airflow. I'll never come back.

Yelp
So pauly d cant fly in due to bad weather and you dont bother to post anything online about it and only tell people once theyre in line? You knew for hours!!! Or did no one notice he wasnt there ... We got off work early and paid for parking drove over an hour and all u can do is tell us to go in and give you business anyway.. fk that, you could have at least offered a free drink So unprofessional and rude

Yelp
We've been to Ace of Spades quite a few times over the years! It's a great semi-intimate venue that showcases all types of different music! They have 3 bars which is pretty convenient - the one by the stage on the left side is the best one to go to because it's less busier than the other 2. If you like tequila - I recommend asking for a Passionfruit Margarita - chef's kiss! The only issue I have is that they used to have a bar up top that was sometimes first come, first serve and it was the best place to sit and watch the crowd from up high. We loved sitting up there when we didn't feel like standing or being squished in the crowd. I noticed that it was closed this last time we visited -- I'm not sure if they are remodeling it or if it's closed permanently. They offer food here too - I think I might have seen pizza boxes and chips moving around the crowd at one point. They have lots of staff and security constantly watching the whole time too which I appreciate and I also like the location on R Street as they have lots of options for food and drinks! Overall, Ace of Spades is a great music venue! I love being able to see bands/singers here without the thousand(s) of people crowds and traffic. The venue staff does a great job of keeping the foot traffic moving and clear so it never really feels super crowded. Ticket prices are also pretty good too - they do offer VIP seats for more money as well!

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and this is the first time this happened to me. The staff was very disrespectful and judgmental Accuseing me of being drunk and told me to sit down while my party was inside worried about me. I had nothing to drink and they took my wristband off. And the sad part is I had payed for the tickets already in advance. They're very unprofessional.... The staff could do do better

Yelp
This venue has a cozy feel and great sound. I loved the fact that there wasn't really a bad seat in the house and a bar on every corner. The entrance line set up is a little wacky. You have to go across the street, get your ticket scanned, and then walk back across the street to enter. I saw Crosses during my visit here and they killed it! The stage set up and lighting was awesome and I loved that I could order from the bar while still watching the band. The Kills are playing here in March 2024, go see them!

Yelp
Read a lot of bad reviews and expected the worst. Not so bad. When we arrived there was a stupid line that was across the street from the venue. Since we didn't care about being up front, we said nope and walked to a dive bar and had a great time there. Went back later and the line was gone. The place was pretty packed. I will say that it is great that they keep walking lanes cleared. We stood downstairs by the bar, which felt strange because we were literally blocking the bar, but there was no other place to go. Staff we encountered were very friendly.

Yelp
Supper lame environment. Had no clue about their unfun rules. A friend handed me a beer in line when we got there late to the group. A employee twerp approached me and said to me that I need to give him my drink I said ok and he took my picture with my id and gave me a wrist band with a one hr restriction of none drinking. I was shocked. No warning I hadn't even had a drink of it. Although I don't care to drink it was just so stupid. I could've went to the Iron horse across the street and had 10 and been fine with them. The controls of these low level individuals. Ultimately we stayed 45 minutes and decided this venue is weak and horrible. Never again. No cash, no pre drinks, no smoking except in venues area not in line. . What in the name of lame. 2010 please come home. We miss you. Between the vibe the lame and the $!

Yelp
I am giving 4 stars specifically for the employees (and not necessarily the venue) because they are such patient, kind and polite people. The venue is a bit lacking (that is why I took away a star) because it is very small and difficult for short people to see. If you wanted to sit down, you have to pay an extra $60 to sit. But their set up for the sound and lighting is great. If my score was based solely on the employees, I would give a 6/5. They were so kind to me and my son when we lost our spot in the crowd. They allowed us a specific area where we could see the stage from a distance. This kind woman with long blonde wavy hair (bartender) and this gentlemen with a strong build and had a beard (security) were empathetic and told my son he could stand on the stairs for a better view. I didn't get their names but I wanted to give them a shout out for their impeccable hospitality. We went to the Elyanna (and great surprise the opener was the talented MC Abdul) concert. It started out rough in the beginning but the staff made it end on a great note. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Venue parking is a mess. None of the staff knew what was going on. Venue holds 1000. Way more people in venue. Got my signed concert T-shirt stolen out of my hands walking by the crowd. Over sold the GA tickets to the concert. Way too packed. Not enough seating for handy cap. Accident waiting to happen in case of fire or earthquake.

Leslie ..

Yelp
Despite all of the discouraging reviews here, and also real disdain for this place expressed by friends who are not only associated with the concert industry, but also very seasoned concert goers, I had a really great experience at this venue - from walking in and buying my tickets weeks in advance in person with a very helpful and nice young lady who was really kind and thoughtfully thorough helping me make the transaction with my phone, but also helping with future parking info since I was unfamiliar with the area. She, along with other employees, shot down the realllllly disrespectful and rude attitude of the security guards who tried to stop people from walking literally 2 feet inside to make the quick purchase after my workday at like 5:30 - far from "showtime" (saving greatly on service fees). As others have mentioned, the ONLY bad thing I experienced was those security guards on my very first visit there. Fortunately those guys were NOT the security on the night of the show, so that night all went really smoothly with really nice people, both serving drinks and just in general staffing. Though miserable looking, the security that night didn't cause anyone any problems I could see. I received online communications with pertinent info reminding me of show date, and it all turned out so much better than I had worried about and expected. I'm a 64 year old woman who has been to more shows than I could ever count, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this venue ended up being despite all of my safety and security concerns prior to going. I don't know if it was my favorite California Honeydrops positive energy and vibes, the vast age range of the crowd all really enjoying themselves immensely, or luck - but it was definitely a great night out with a fabulous soundsystem. Thanks AoS for booking the GREAT band and for the nice surprise of a really good night there
google avatar

Yelp
Clean bathrooms clean location and nice helpful staff. I wish the drinks menu had a bit more offerings but had a pleasant time. Pretty affordable, I went for 2000s night. I did feel like the DJ skipped out on a lot of songs that represented the 2000s in favor of more recent songs, but that's no fault of the venue. Easy entry if you have fast lane, easy exit as well.

Yelp
As a local, I'm sad to say this venue has gone down. I have been to over 10 shows in the past 5 years, and this was the worst it's been. Several people well above the age of 21 were being chastised at the beginning of the line for drinking, and given special wristbands that said "We're watching you". None of them seemed drunk. Throughout the night, I had several friends tell me they were put on the same drink watch. Very strange behavior from a bar, but I continued in. As an adult living in California, I would have never expected to be threatened to be thrown out for simply having a gardening pen in the name of an all ages event. I did however see and smell plenty of people vaping big clouds inside the venue, which I guess they're okay with for children. I have taken my gardening pen several places and simply been told to not smoke inside when they see it. I asked if I could coat check it, and was told no. The security was rude, and people came up to me after the interaction saying the woman who also felt the need to throw away my deodorant was talking about me once I walked away, intensely unprofessional. I never yelled, never called names, didn't insult anyone, just had the audacity to ask why instead of blindly trashing $40. All for...me to go buy another one after the event, as it is perfectly legal here. Flowstars and other flow toys are banned we found out at the door, but it is not on the website. They cited the catch all "we reserve the right to ban anything day of", but then why host an EDM event at all? I saw sooooo many people after the event I didn't know get their flow toys from the mandatory coat check of flow toys (yes it costs money, wonder why they made that rule). Funny how it's okay to check a flowstar, but not a cartridge. You have the same opportunity to pick up the star early, so that's a weak excuse. All in all, I would rather pay for a hotel and go all the way to the bay for a show than a place less than a mile from my house because of how I was treated, and that's sad.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and had an amazing experience listening to the live music! Food was honestly good.

Yelp
I've got a soft spot in my heart for Ace of Spades! I've been here several times for concerts and they're always so much fun. Recently attended the sold out show for Story of the Year and let me tell you, when they say sold out, they mean sold out. You are literally packed inside like a sardine. Of all the concerts I've been to here, this was the hardest to enjoy because it definitely overpacked. They have taped floors to indicate walk-through only aisles that the staff keep you out of (which is fine, made it easy to walk the perimeter). But there no room at all for standing. You can hangout upstairs and look out the balcony but it almost feels hazardous. Be aware that most of the time this is an all ages venue (unless indicated at the time of purchase) and we were surround by children at this last concert. So don't be surprised if you're jamming out to an artist and a toddler bumps into you. Overall, I love the artists they book and recommend you going if the performer is a favorite of yours.

Yelp
Went to Brat night with my sister! There's a bar area on the back left and dance floor/dj on the back right of the venue. I liked how there were multiple entrances to the dance floor. Venue staff were also friendly and efficient with getting us and other clubgoers in the venue. Didn't get to try drinks since it was an 18+ night and my sister is under 21.

Yelp
This venue brings some amazing acts to Sacramento with affordable tickets which is hard to find these days. It's also walking distance to some GREAT bars/restaurants for before/after the show. I've come on many occasions for different artists of various genres. It's a venue with fun chandeliers and awesome views of the stage from many viewpoints. They also have an affordable coat check for cold weather wear or any merch you purchase and don't want to wear/carry. It's conveniently located next to the merch tables so you're not walking all over. The bars usually have a decent selection of beer, cider, liquor, etc. that don't cost you outrageous rates and they have free water tanks for anyone to fill up a cup and rehydrate. Bathrooms are clean and they changed them from gender specific to gender neutral which may upset or delight some people, but I can tell you I've never see shorter bathroom lines there as I have since they've made the switch and I've never had any issues with any patrons of either gender in there. The staff in general has always been thorough, patient, and kind from the bathroom attendants to bartenders to entrance security, and the stage crew. That all being said--on one occasion I was escorted out to sit with the drunk people because this particular security guard felt my dancing was "stumbling" which made me too drunk in her opinion even though I hadn't even finished 1 drink so be cautious of dancing I guess (which is ridiculous to say about a music venue). Mind you I'm a dance teacher and choreographer so my dancing is far from stumbling. She wouldn't take her hands off of me as she pushed me out of the venue which pissed me off because I was walking willingly to discuss the misunderstanding away from the music. I then missed 15 minutes of the show I paid for including my favorite song from that artist standing outside with my feet planted next to people who couldn't stand or were puking. After demanding to speak with her supervisor, waiting for the supervisor to come, and missing out on the only time I've seen that artist--they let me back in. Upon returning everyone wanted to know why I was escorted because I had been interacting with them all throughout the evening and they knew I wasn't drunk as they could see how much I had drank being next to them all evening. They were shocked and then the group of girls next to me decided they would all dance with me with one girl saying "they can't kick us all out for dancing". This experience definitely made me paranoid about dancing at that venue ever since which takes away from being fully present and enjoying myself completely as I'm always looking over my shoulder if I do dance. Outside of this instance and its repercussions on my future experiences, I've always had a great experience there, so for this reason I would give 4.5 stars if I could.

Yelp
Great place to see a show. Clean, organized and great sound. Upgrade if available. Stress free fun room.

Yelp
Ace of Spades is a local gem that has been a staple in our community for years. I had the privilege of showcasing my photography there, which is still an amazing memory. Their recent addition of a VIP seating area is a fantastic upgrade. It really gives you an excellent view of the stage even over the crowd. Whether you're seeing your favorite local bands or if you are discovering a new artist, Ace of Spades is definitely a must-visit!!! The only reason I gave them four stars is because the venue is pretty small.

Leslie R.

Yelp
WORST Experience of my life got kicked out just because we were holding a drink while another member of our party was tying their shoe and we were over 25 years old and we got kicked out never coming here again. We came out of town just to have a good time to go watch a DJ but never will come here again. I didn't even get a refund.

Yelp
I have been to this venue for two concerts now. It is really well put together with great sounds and access. Very intimate feeling venue. Great staff that are very helpful. Tasty drinks.

Sonya E.

Yelp
Attended my first reggae concert at this venue where the great J Boog performed. The venue itself is pretty spacious and accommodated a large attendance of J Boog fans. The security team ran a tight ship and were pretty strict with in and out access. Surprisingly, the restrooms were clean considering the number of people there. It was a great time and a memorable experience.
google avatar

Jenn H.

Yelp
I love coming to Ace of Spades! I have seen so many artists here and it always feels like such an intimate concert! The staff is always friendly and helpful; it's nice to have a venue that offers coat check when some artists are selling vinyls and you don't really want to be in the crowd with that.
google avatar

Yelp
Dr. Pepper of Dr. Pepper's Karaoke Band was OUTSIDE!! Princess Dana took a lot of videos during the concert and it was fire, excellent, everyone working there made the experience amazing!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had such an amazing time here for the Jai Wolf Concert. It was our first time at this venue. We're not from the area so we booked a hotel and ubered to/from the venue which was most ideal. This venue is a smaller one, it reminds me of the Catalyst in Santa Cruz providing a much more intimate show. Because the venue is small, we found it easy to get closer to the stage and everyone around us was kind to let us through. Sad we missed Manila Killa, but we were able to see Evan Gia (the second opener) and of course Jai Wolf! We ordered a couple of shots at the bar, and Jessie the bartender was awesome! She was cool to talk to, and hooked us up with Jell-O shots! The restrooms seemed like they were kept clean throughout. There were two bars available, so it wasn't super crowded. Not much to explore, but it's a small venue. I'm so happy I got to meet Jai Wolf at the end of the concert. Literally made my dreams come true!

Yelp
Saturdays show June 22nd "Tainted love" was a blast from the past 80's music!! The crowd was fun, everyone dancing, drinks were flowing, great vibes!

Yelp
Heard from the rumor-mill that Prof had this own tech and this was not the fault of the staff sound guy. Upgraded a star and much love to the engineers and techs of the world. That all said, Ace....come on. Sound treatment and few more upgrades can avoid things like harsh frequencies and epic feedback. This is gear-support 101.

Shaye Q.

Yelp
Not cool to slap wristbands on folks outside of the venue without telling them what they mean. Drinking a seltzer WATER in line at the venue we were given a "non-drinking" wristband without anyone explaining what it was or what it meant. Upon entering the venue we're told we can't drink for an hour. I paid good money to come to a concert here. Really confusing to be let into a venue and not allowed to spend money here. I hate it. Will not come back.
google avatar

Catherine E.

Yelp
They pack people in so tightly, everyone is bumping into everyone else and shoving other people just to remain standing. We went to see Alexandra Kay and it was not safe to stand. There only place I didn't get bumped into was in the bathroom. People get territorial and will push you if they get in your space, even if you haven't moved and they were the ones encroaching on your space. There's no clear walkway to the exits or bathrooms, there's people crowding on the stairwell and mezzanine. There's no way to get to any of the four bars for water and it was an all ages show, so there's children here...

Yelp
So after my last experience, I said I would never come to this venue again....and my husband wanted to see our friends play there so we went. I stand by my review and double down on it. The vibe here is ick. The security and staff can be so rude. I actually had to enter and be searched three different times due to ticketing errors. My friend's husband was the drummer in one of the bands and they would not even let her backstage despite having a wristband. They were rude to band members right in front of their fans. If you're thinking about going here or booking shows here....just don't.

Tania F.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Bad management and security service. My husband & I went out with some friends which started at Good luck lounge which is linked to AOS. We then heard about the concert next door at AOS. We purchased tickets and went in. We were dancing & a tall, white man (security) with glasses was very aggressive with us and told us to come to the front because we didn't purchase a ticket. He was very aggressive and rude with is. We felt very discriminated & singled out. We ended up needed a different wrist band that was never provided to us at the time we purchase our tickets from Good luck lounge. We got a new wristband. We were already back in at AOS and started dancing & got pulled aside again now it was the security manager. A small Hispanic bald man. He said his security guy tall white glasses male felt threatened. Sir. I think it was the other way around. The manger was definitely in the wrong but we wanted to dance so we listened to what the manger said & carried on. The communication with the louge and ace of shades needs to be better communicated.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed or added photos of Ace of Spades before! Despite being owned by Live Nation, a pretty notoriously bad company, I think we're really lucky to have this gem of a venue in Sacramento. While smaller venues not to last very long and larger venues have few good seats/standing locations, Ace of Spades is one of those rare mid-sized venues where there really isn't a bad spot to view an act. I probably go 4-5 times a year and have seen a variety of acts in the last 15+ years from Orville Peck to Maisie Peters to the Aquabats in recent years and larger acts like Childish Gambino before he blew up. The sound is solid, the lighting fun, and it's a great venue to grab some photos of the action and actually see an artist up close. I also appreciate the variety of acts they have come through, as it seems like there's a little something for everybody. If I had a gripe, I'd say it's that they should open up VIP seating when an event isn't sold out and the seating is available. I know they're looking to make some extra money from upgrades but I think the added customer service would make up for lost sales here, especially since I don't expect them to sell VIP seats halfway through the show - it's more of a pre-show kind of upgrade. Otherwise, everything else is solid here. Easy to get in, easy security check, great views of the artists, and plenty of VIP packages during tours for things like sound checks, meet and greets, and more. I'll be back - probably sooner than later!

Yelp
Service is super slow. Drinks are overpriced for marginal quality. Staff was impatient. Only encountered nice staff member the whole time.... And he was cleaning the bathroom. Terrible

Yelp
By far the worst music venue in Sacramento. To maximize their profit, not your comfort or enjoyment, prepare to pack in like cattle and stand 3-4 hours in an extremely crowded venue. I don't know how they meet fire codes with this forced arrangement. There is extremely limited seating which costs you an extra $50 a seat to use, and all seating is at the very far back locations from the stage. If you like being treated like cattle, you'll love the crowd and the whole dank and dirty vibe atmosphere.

Yelp
One of the worst music venues to go to and I won't be going to this venue ever again. The workers have attitude and the venue is too small for how many tickets they sell

Yelp
Over the years I've attended a countless amount of concerts at Ace of Spades. Before that I was coming here on the weekends to club with friends. Needless to say this building has served tons of memories that I've been able to share with friends. There's no Genre of music Ace hasn't hosted so you could say this is a spot for every enjoyer of music. This isn't the largest venue and I'd like to say that you get more of an intimate show. Shoulder to shoulder dancing with fellow fans is the likely scenario. Previously it was pretty tight to move around but I'm glad they've made clear path zones in the walkways. It's easy to feel a little claustrophobic in this space because it's dark. Staff is chill for the most part, bartenders have always been nice to me and bouncers like to do it stuff like bounce (Don't start no stuff won't be no stuff) Rst is a poppin' area and you can expect a ton of foot traffic with the dining and entertainment in the area, parking can be rough so plan in advanced. There's usually parking across the way but expect to pay a premium, this is a worthy area for an eve night out with your friends!

Yelp
The prices for tickets are getting outrageous for the service and sound quality. They allow too many people into this place anymore. If you need a drink or have to go to the bathroom then you have no chance of going back to your spot. You will have to stand back by the bathroom and won't be able to see the stage. Last time we had to stand next to the bathroom and they had something tall blocking everyone's view. We had to complain multiple time before they took it down.

Yelp
Ace of Spades severely overbooks their facility far beyond what is reasonable for safety and enjoyment. Every single 'walkway' in the venue, including merch and smoking area was thoroughly packed, push and shoving space only, without any legitimate standing room. Shoulder to shoulder packed. I had to stand in the lobby most of the time - which was also crowded. At least there is a TV. I've never seen anything so severely crowded, if a problem or emergency were to happen here, this place is a guaranteed death trap. The sound quality was also disappointing - lacking in midrange clarity necessary to hear resolution between instruments and vocals, and this was common to both bands and not likely a stylistic effect. @Sacramento Fire Department - please investigate.

Yelp
Worst venue ever? Staff is anal and uptight. There is NOWHERE to stand. You are packed in like sardines. I could not see the stage at all from any point in the venue. Definitely don't want to attend a show here again.
