I got acrylics done for the very first time and Lisa did it very well! I told her it was my first time and so she didn’t make them too long because she said that it takes time to get used too. Overall it was a good experience and they turned out the way I wanted them to!

I never leave bad reviews. But I had to with this. I got my nails done and the next day the gel peeled. I see another review of someone with the same experience. This was a $93 service that they won’t refund me. Anddd told me they needed to see in person because they don’t except pictures.

I been going for a mani/pedi for ovy3 years. David is the technician I see, he is very professional, knows what I like.

I’ve been coming here for years. Today I went in for a gel pedicure and mani and basically got kicked out because I kept asking for them to fix the polish on my big toe like 3 different times in the nicest way possible. I even said I didn’t mean to be difficult. I wasn’t happy but just wanted to get it done and over with thn he proceeded to tell me to come back another day for my hands because they don’t have time anymore for my mani it was 4:30 and it says they close at 7pm and to book with someone else even though I had scheduled an appointment for gel mani and pedi . I still paid full fee for a service I wasn’t happy with but I am very disappointed in their customer service . If I am paying $50 for a pedicure the paint job shouldn’t look like this

Regular polish pedi and gel mani for $60. David did mine and I love the results. Took the time to do a good job, and the ladies were friendly too.

Excellent service even though I came in last minute. They did my manicure as another tech did my pedicure and even did my eyebrows although they had closed. I've been to many many shops in the Germantown-Gaithersburg area and the service received at Acqua nails far supersedes the rest. Will I be back? For sure!!! You should try them too!

I've been a long time customer of this place but I've noticed recently they're making up their prices. They put up a sign that said "due to high demand for supplies we will now have additional charges" but I feel like that's an excuse to make any price they want. One day designs were 5$ for two fingers and the next day it's 13$ for the same thing.. oh ya dont go here if you what designs, this place is terrible. Put your prices on the wall Outside of the prices changing everyday, the people are mostly nice..,

Just moved to the neighborhood back in Spring and was excited that this place was in walking distance, so I went in a few days before Memorial Day. Kelly did my my nails and pedi, I did gel nails with extensions. She was very nice and gentle, not the best paint job but not the worse. Walked in today for a fill-in and David did my nails. Again, nice and gentle. For the most part the nails were done, but not very well. I had my nails done around 10:45-11 and they're chipping 12 hours later. There's paint in areas it shouldn't be and paint missing from areas it should be. I was skeptical about returning but 2 nails had fallen off and it's just so close to where I live but I know better moving forward

David from Acqua Nails is the absolute WORST!!! I have polish and top coat all over my skin and over my cuticles! He refused to see what I'm seeing. He started at 1:00p and was done at 2:45p for this horrible gel manicure. He repeatedly said that it was the polish. I will NEVER go back there again.

This was my first time here and I'm so impressed!!! The salon that I had been going to for 5+ years, started to go downhill. My nails would peel (gel polish) literally after 3-4 days. And to keep going back to get them fixed was becoming a bit frustrating. So I gave Acqua a try! And WOW. Kim did my nails, took her time and did an amazing job!!!! She made sure each nail was to perfection. I've literally just been looking at my nails constantly and cannot believe how great they look! I will definitely go back!!!

I was looking for a new nail salon as I had a horrible experience at V Nail Salon in Germantown. Aqua Nails was so much better and I am glad I found them. David did my nails and was very gentle and thorough. He did not rush and gave special attention to care for my hands. He was knowledgeable and friendly which was a bonus. I originally walked in a little after opening on a Sunday and they were to capacity. They asked if I can comeback at 1:00pm, and took my name and number down. When I returned they were ready for me. It is a small shop, but clean and peaceful. I like the fact they were not packed out the door, but every seat was full.

Went in for a gel manicure on Thursday and by Friday the polish on one of my nails chipped. Went back in on Saturday to have the nail fixed and by later on that same day that same nail along with two others had chipped polish. Not sure what they are doing that a gel manicure would chip so quickly but I won't be back again to waste my money on a terrible manicure.

Every time I get my nails done here I'm so happy. They are kind, thorough, and do a fantastic job. I highly recommend them!

I wish I can give this place 0 stars if I can. A week and half ago, I received a fill in gel. I walked out leaving unsatisfied because I didn't get exactly the color I wanted from the gel color examples. It didnt look like the example. I asked her if she can put more glitter coating on my nails. She responded she charge extra for more paint on my nails. I have never went to a nail spa that does that so it was weird . She only applied 2 coatings. Then, Last week, 2 of my nails started cracking and color was peeling off. I went in couple days ago. I was friendly when I first entered. I asked If they would charge to fix their mistake. A nail technician wasnt giving me a yes or no answer. I was being very polite untill she was just giving me the run around. She said no she cant fix it. The nail technician who did mines said " it's hard when I did your nails". I responded if it's hard that means you're inexperienced and shouldnt be doing nail services. I never met any nail technician who told me to do a fill in gel is difficult. I asked well can I paint over the nail where the colors chipped off? She said if you're going to do that you can do it at home. I said no thanks how about you fix it then since it was your mistake. So, the nail technician who wouldn't give me a yes or no answer right away told me I should be quiet because shes coloring the part that was chipped off. We were standing by the door when she said that. She literally asked me can I be quiet? While she was coloring on the side standing up when I can do that at home. I really wanted to yell when she asked me can I be quiet? I just responded you should be more understanding because I paid for these services a week and half ago. She didnt say anything. I dont recommend this nail spa at all. It was my 1st time and will be my last. I should have went to the salon I went to before. They were just weird. At this moment my cracked fill in nail is giving my real nail pain.

I went here for a gel manicure- called a few hours before and they fit me in. Definitely call in advance, as it is usually busy. Nail technician was nice and conversational, but not forcing conversation. My nails looked great then- but it's three weeks later, and they're still perfect! No chipping, no peeling, just growing out. This is strictly natural nails- not acrylic. Gel manicure is $33. I say well worth it! Also, walkable within Germantown Town Center, meaning you can get restaurant food/groceries while you're in the plaza. Definitely recommend!

I love the staff and the talented work they do. I've come here multiple times for gel manicures/pedicures and every time I leave very happy with how my nails look! I've started to bring others in my family here. I took my youngest sister who was graduating high school to another place and they messed up her full set horrendously! Came here to get it fixed and you could tell right away they know what they're doing. They take their time and deliver amazing results always. I'm never going somewhere else again.

My 11yo daughter had a playdate with her classmate yesterday. On a whim, we decided to take our girls to get their nails done at a nail salon. Acqua Nails came up in my search, and after reading the reviews about how clean and friendly the staff were, we decided to go. Your establishment and the staff are the very reason why I worry when I take my daughter out. My daughter is autistic and I'm pretty sure you knew she had special needs by the genuine look of disdain that spread across your face when my daughter approached you, and when we informed you that our girls would like to get their nails done. Either my daughter was oblivious of the situation or she chose to ignore your rude and ignorant comment that you "didn't think she could handle getting her nails done." Unsurprisingly, my daughter and her friend proved you and the entire staff at your establishment wrong. Also, Kayleigh, please save that "look" for someone more deserving of it and not an 11yo girl who just wanted to have pretty nails. Otherwise, it's a really unflattering look, so please tuck that away in your back pocket, forever. We will never give you our business again, ever. I hope this was a learning opportunity for your staff to show more compassion, understanding and empathy for all who are different and unique in their own way. My response to you, as I told you yesterday Kayleigh, "don't underestimate my daughter just because she's different." Let that soak in, Acqua Nails, and be better and kinder to the special needs community and just to people in general.

My daughter did her acrylic full set manicure here yesterday and I'm not impressed with the guy staff. I don't think he knows what he's doing. The sad part is an hour and 15 minutes service turned out to be an hour and 55 minutes.

Went to get a pedicure and was seen right away. The staff was very friendly. Its a small salon with not too many nail polish options. The pedicure cost 27 credit and 25 in cash.

Newly opened nail salon on Germantown Road conveniently located next to Starbucks, Chevron, a couple banks, and a Safeway. Coffee, gas, cash, and manicures - all I need to get through the day :) I'm super happy that I don't have to drive all the way down to Cindy's Nails on Rockville Pike or Phoenix Nails in Gaithersburg to get a solid manicure now that Acqua Nails has opened up. My hands were in need of some major TLC after a Saturday full of hard, strenuous labor, so a manicure was in top order! Service is friendly and they do a great job on your nails. There's 6 manicure stations, 6 pedicure stations, and a massive selection of OPI and Essie colors. There's no TV to gaze meaninglessly into (hopefully they get one soon~), but there's top 40 music in the background for some ambient noise. There isn't a real waiting area from what I could see (aside from sitting at the drying station), so I recommend calling in to make sure they have someone available or schedule an appointment so you don't stand there staring at the nail polish rack for 30 minutes. Just a note, their drying station uses fans instead of lights that I'm more accustomed to seeing, but I'm pretty indifferent to this. Their services are priced competitively and I definitely see myself coming back for more pampering Sundays~

First time client; Kim did my gel manicure. She did a nice job and was very efficient. In and out in 45 minutes, which I really like! I'll be back.

I had to request that the technician not clean his tools in the same basin in which my feet were soaking. Why should I have to tell someone that? I also chose a special Infinite OPI brand. They charge an extra $3 for hands and feet. The technician tried to use a regular base coat. Had I not been paying attention, I would not have caught him trying to cut corners. I was not satisfied with my pedi and mani. Very sloppy....polish in the cuticle bed and on fingertips. My sister was with me and had a completely different experience, but I will not return.

FINALLY a worthy nail salon in Germantown!!! This place is clean, they have an awesome selection of colors and brands, they offer all services (from manicures to waxing) and the customer service is amazing. They're welcoming and friendly and I don't feel like I'm bothering them when requesting services. Kelly is my fave but everyone is great. I've only walked in and they've always been able to take care of me. I'd recommend this salon to any women searching for a consistent nail salon home in Germantown.

I have gone here a lot lately and have had much better experiences especially with Lee. The store purchased a dark pink for the pink and white acrylics and it's perfect. I suggest making an appointment as they are becoming popular. Highly recommended and pay cash... You get 10% off!

Came in to get a mani pedi early on Tuesday. I was directed to sit in a chair and soak my feet but there was long dark hair all over the side of the tub... Gross. I waited more than 20 minutes then a gentleman named lee I believe started on my toes. He didn't scrub my feet or take any time at all. He then did my nails. Didn't ask what shape I'd like or if I wanted them cut. I don't believe anyone could tell I paid for this service as it looks like I did it myself. Maybe I just had a bad technician but next time I will take the drive to go to Phoenix Nails for sure.

Since writing a review about another local nail salon, I have discovered and frequented Aqua Nails in Germantown off Middlebrook and Germantown Roads. Immaculate, Family owned, meticulous nail work and super gracious describes these folks. I usually have an appointment with Kim or Lee, but all the techs are very skilled and really know how to please. The massages on hands and feet are so.o.o relaxing and most welcome. I never feel rushed even when the next appointment has arrived. Oh, and walkins are welcome, but they are very busy and might suggest returning at a designated time in just a bit. I have found calling on a bad weather day or an off day out from the weekend, has worked for me. Tell them Debbie from Virginia recommended them to you! PS. Color selections are phenomenal! Plan ahead and arrrive a few minutes before your appointment for choosing. Though credit cards are accepted, their appreciation of your paying in cash is rewarded with a bit of a discount. Be patient, parking is at a premium. Bring sandals in case you don't get a space right in front.

I've been here twice with the recommendation from a friend and have gotten great results. I loved how my shellac gel manicures looked both times. My pedicure were also nice as well. Pretty friendly staff and they give !0% off if you pay cash. My reasons why I didn't give them 5 stars were (1) they talked to each other a lot, not that I think they are talking about me, and (2) my manicurist didn't change the towel before she did my manicure. I saw her do someone before me and it still had some polish chippings on it. It bothered me a little but not enough to say something to her. I usually go to Phoenix Nails and it's actually closer to me but I feel they are pricier than Acqua. Both are great places to go for manis and pedis.

Acqua Nails has been open since about January 2013 and it quickly became my go-to nail salon. I have only come here for gel nails and pedicures, but the salon also offers waxing services. My nails normally look like a pack of ravenous gerbils have gnawed on them, so I appreciate any salon that can take my nails from ragged to ravishing. The staff at the salon is incredibly friendly and always remember my name. I definitely appreciate that touch. They often offer you some water or a soda, and that makes for a welcoming atmosphere as well. The salon is one of the cleanest I have ever seen and the decor is crisp and colorful. There is a great selection of current magazines to flip through as you get a pedicure or as you're waiting for your nails to dry. The selection of nail polishes is diverse, and is mainly made up of shades from Essie and OPI, as well as a selection of polishes just for gel manicures. Lee is the absolute best for nails! My nails always look fabulous after she finishes them. She is very careful and takes her time to ensure that the nails are all the same length and that they are buffed and polished to perfection. Kim is amazing at pedicures--the foot massage she gives during the pedicure is heavenly! All of the staff is great and they work hard to accommodate you if you are a walk-in. I took off 1 star because the parking is a bit difficult. It is in the shopping plaza along with a Massage Envy, a cleaners and a Starbucks and the parking is very limited. Also, the male nail technicians aren't quite as good as they female nail technicians, but I have found that this tends to be true at other salons as well. Bottom line: If you want great nails at a good price in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, definitely come to Acqua Nails!

I recently jumped ship to this nail salon after being really unhappy with my nails for around 6 months at my old place. Kim was the first one to do my nails and she did a lovely job. I've tried everyone in this place since and I can honestly say you can't go wrong with any of them. I don't know what it is with the products they use, but I've been getting an acrylic nail for close to two decades and I always find they lift SO easily because I wash my hands so many times a day. My nails hardly lift anymore which is helpful if I can't get to the salon and need to stretch it to the 3rd week. Convenient location although the parking lot can be a nightmare at certain times of day.

Don't get acrylics done here. I paid for a full set of acrylics just to have four of them snap. I'm very careful with my nails but I noticed that the surfaces were lumpy and uneven. One was fixed by the same tech (I think Lee) and it broke again after 4 days. The other was fixed by Kim and is still intact. I was due for a fill and went to Passion Nail Spa in Clarksburg instead, and was told that by TWO techs that my acrylics were thin and uneven and that not enough powder was used to reinforce the surface. The ladies at Acqua are polite, not overly friendly/talkative, but I highly recommend going elsewhere if you're looking for acrylics.

First time at this place and they took their time and did a really nice job on my mani with gel and pedi even though they were pretty busy on a Friday. Price was reasonable too, so definitely going back when I'm in town again.

I'm always impressed with the service that I receive here. The inside is clean and well designed. The staff is always friendly and professional. I enjoy the hot towels they offer to clients during manicures. The only downside is parking can be tight since it's in a crowded shopping center with other small businesses. Despite the tight parking, this salon is definitely my favorite go-to over all others.

This place is friendly, clean and have great prices. Got an awesome mani, and pedi a few weeks ago, they were perfect and lasted long :) acqua nails is much better than other places in area hands down.

I love Lee and her hard work! I went to this salon for the first time and would love to go back, but here is my one reason why I am hesitant! I had old gel on my fingers from about a 3 week old gel manicure and it was removed with the drill-like tool used on fake nails - OUCH. It literally burned me and I felt like a small child about to cry. Other than that, I did enjoy my experience and the price was reasonable for the services provided!

I have visited this establishment several times whenever I'm in town and each time the service has been subpar. The first time I had recently given birth and the owner kept calling me fat. A year later after losing the baby weight, she commented "Oh you look better thin, much prettier than when you were fat". I was in town last week and got a gel mani and a pedi. I would have gone somewhere else, but I was in a pinch. I was greeted with rude looks before asked "What do you want?" I told them and the owner said pick a color. I sat down for my pedicure done by David. The owner was servicing a client next to me. David was using a tool on my feet, when the owner asked for it. He gave it to her and she used it briefly. David asked for it back and she told him no. The entire time she stared at me giving me her usual dirty glances, while making remarks. While I know they have no issue servicing POC clients, my almond shaped eyes are a problem. I'm not biracial, but many people assume one of my parents is of Asian ethnicity based on my eyes. This happened to me at salons before, it took me awhile to realize the issue at this one, but I nor my family will use this business anymore. You lost five customers for being prejudice and... My gel chipped four days later.

The presentation of the nail shop was nice. However, I had a male manicurist and wouldn't go back to him. I may try the shop again with another manicurist. I'm still looking for a new nail shop to call home as I wasn't impressed with this shop.

I LOVE this nail salon. I am so glad it opened. I used to go to Passion Nails and just started getting treated TERRIBLY......I went to Acqua Nails...Friendly staff, they know my name, They know my colors. It's clean, and friendly!!! LOVE IT!!

Lee was very meticulous and good at what she does. She takes her time and her work speaks for itself :)

I ve been going to this place over a year at least once a month. They have a good selection of colors and salon is clean and staff is friendly. My shellac lasts about 3 weeks. I tried Lee and the gentleman ( dont know his name) both were very good but i like Kim more. I m a little picky and she figured exactly how i want..

Never again will I go back to this place I went Wednesday 6/19 to get my eye brows done and the wax was so hot they burned my actual eyelid. Poor service and didnt even take all the wax off

I just got my nails done here about 20 minutes ago and this place is so great I had to come write a review. I just moved to MD about a year and a half ago and have been to just about every nail salon in Germantown and none were as amazing as this one. Every person there was nice and the place is super clean. The lady that Did my nails, kelly, was perfect, if she saw a flaw she fixed it right away. She didn't rush thru it like all other salons do and she even put 3 coats of polish on. There was a ton of colors to choose from and it was overall the best experience I've had at a nail salon here. And I'm extremely picky with my nails!

They were able to fit me in at 5:30pm and not 6pm on a Thursday. Initially I called and was told no sorry when I couldn't do 5:30pm. When I called back 6pm was still an option for a mani and pedi for my engagement party two days later. The ladies and one guy only spoke in their native tongue and at one point I could clearly see my technician was talking about the weight, dress and/or overall appearance of someone outside of the shop. I forced myself into the conversation explaining why I came in and how excited I was, eventually the technician lighted up but didn't seem #team-marriage. I will go back IF I must. Passions is too busy and too rushed for me and the last few visits the nail polish comes off in one to two days. I think its a push to make me a gel customer but been there done that and it damages my natural nails. The great places are always too busy and I find myself being scheduled weeks out like its a GYN appointment. NY and DC are the only the only places where customers come first and customer service is there by default. I suppose that if everyone was wonderful no one would be horrible and I wouldn't appreciate the difference.

some nail techs are better than others. i usually have vhin do my nails but on days that he is not in i just get a random nail trch which is sometimes good and some just ok. its advisable to pay with cash since they give discounts when you pay in cash but they do take credit cards. they have variety of color to choose from and the place is clean. not huge. but clean and organized. will be revisiting this place.

I didn't catch it until too late, but the technician failed to use new tools during my pedicure. My feet have been peeling since that day. Back to Phoenix Nails I go!

I used yelp to help me locate a decent nail salon as I am new to the germantown area. I am soooo happy I stumbled across the reviews for this salon. I have been to two other salons here and my nails were horribly done. I spent $50 at A1 nails for Christmas and when the nail tech was done my nails were lumpy and uneven. I'm from NY and was so disappointed, I used my metro card to pluck the crap off!! This salon, Aqua nails, is god sent!! Yea the nail techs talk to each other but they do an awesome job. It is worth it. So much so that came back here to make this post.

This place is great. Lee is amazing here, ask for her! I travel every week for work, so get my nails done at different salons all over the east coast. This is the first one that I felt I needed to post for. Very relaxing environment and clean! Lee was very sweet and she really makes the place stand out for me. The pedicure n massage she gave me was at least twice as long as the girls next to me were getting. She is worth the wait!

So I got my nails done yesterday and at a nail salon today trying to get them fixed. So paid $60.00 to them and paying another $30 today to rectify their work. I had a guy and he said I needed a new set. I said to him my nails look too thick and he said something I didn't understand. After asking him like 4 times I realized I wasn't going to be okay with his answer. They looked worse than Lee press on nails!! So bad. I went to Exquisite Salon today and they couldn't believe either that guys work. So $90 later my nails look decent. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

First let me say that I never go to this place, I wanted to try because of the yelp reviews. What a huge mistake The owner and employees are rip offs! They charge outrageous prices and are not friendly. I took my daughter and my niece for pedicures and to get their nails painted(no manicure). They did not put a hot towel on my daughters legs, but put it on my niece. They were talking in their language and did not provide me with pricing until it was time to pay. Apparently they charge almost 20.00$ for a pedi, no matter how terrible their pedis are. The nail polish is sloppy and did not last more than three days. I will never go there again! To top things off the ritzy ladies that go there are nosy and need to keep their two sense to themselves, not everyone likes to get ripped off. I work hard for my money and expect to get what I pay for!

Nice new clean nail salon. There isn't much of a waiting area. I felt bad for a few ladies who came in with an appointment and had to wait at least 30 minutes. The place seemed very quiet even though there was top 40's playing. I think I was disappointed because I picked a color I'm not fascinated with. Especially since after my manicure I noticed other colors I liked that weren't put back with the other selections. I also think I'm just spoiled by a place in Rockville that feels more pampering than any other place I've tried.

The last 3-4 times I have gone there everything is great, friendly staff, take their time, good selection of color and soak off gel match (could have more matching combos) and pretty clean. In the germantown area, it's the BEST salon! However, the last 3-4 times have left the salon, I've been very disappointed that there was little shine on my mani, almost dull or matte. I think they need to simply use different alcohol wipes at the end. A 70% alcohol will effect shine to make it appear dull in a soak off get mani where if you use a 90% alcohol it will be super shiny. I hope they fix this. Unfortunately I have avoided going back after a number of times getting this dull sometimes tacky finish.

My mom and I came in by accident. Another place close by was all booked up. I liked the friendly staff. Lisa was very skilled and gave me really massage for both feet and hands. We also had good conversation, which sadly is not that often at nail salons... I will definitely come back here.

Acqua Nails is by far the best in Germantown. Not only is this place insanely clean, but the prices are very reasonable. If you pay with cash they give you 10% off! I went to Lisa and she was great. I'm very picky about the shape of my nail and she made sure each nail was even. There is a great selection of polishes and the place is very quiet.
