"Situated just a stone’s throw from Piazza del Duomo, this evocative restaurant with a wine-tasting cellar occupies a charming old boathouse. Typical specialities from the Etna region feature on the menu, as well as a choice of pizzas (evening only). The dishes here are traditional and comforting, including an excellent caponata, “fuori della Norma” pasta, fried fish and fish carpaccio, as well as other seafood options among the main courses." - Michelin Inspector

Nice building in a converted warehouse attached to our hotel. Staff mixed in terms of manner. One male member of staff was particularly rude. One word questions / one word answers. Throwing food down on table without care. Same with the bill. We can speak a few words of Italian but even that did not seem to cheer him up. Food pretty good however, but the manner of the male staff ruined the atmosphere. I thought it was because we were tourists who did not speak Italian but he was doing it with Italian speaking diners as well. We ate quickly, paid and left. Would not return. I have fed this back to the hotel as the restaurant was suggested by them as a place to dine.

I went to this restaurant based on them being mentioned in the Michelin guide. It was a let down!! I ordered two raw oysters, tuna carpaccio, and lobster spaghetti. The oysters were average, one was pretty badly mangled. The tuna carpaccio was pretty good, but I guess it would be hard to mess this up. The spaghetti was decent. There was hardly any lobster meat although the sauce was ok. The worst things about this restaurant were: Service and Atmosphere. Service was downright rude. Just one example: Once I told the waiter I was done and would not order dessert, he essentially asked whether he should bring the bill. This is NEVER done in Europe! The customer is always the one asking for the bill, even in a cafe. The rest of the service was curt, almost insulting. Atmosphere? What atmosphere? The place was ear-splitting loud.

We loved this place It's a good restaurant in the heart of Catania with huge choice of dishes We enjoyed delicious dinner here, the stuff is helpful I asked to put a candle on the cake for my husband (he has birthday this day) and they did it Michelin recommended The desserts are delicious!

Awesome place! The food is very tasty! Highly recommended! Not so expensive do the restaurant from Michelin’s Guide. The bill for 2 persons is about 100€ with desert and coffee.

The ambiance was great. We ordered the mixed carpaccio which was very fresh and tasty. The eggplant meatball taste a little bit like falafel, but more juicy and savory. Definitely recommended too. The highlight of the night was the Maccherone Fuori dalla Norma. The eggplant was so soft and juicy that it blows my mind. Definitely the best eggplant dish ever! We ended the meal with Semifreddo. It has an interesting texture, and the rich pistachio cream goes really well with the berry jam. Highly recommended!

Nice experience and amazing food. Had a gran carpaccio and a fettuccine alle vongole. The gran carpaccio had an amazing salmon and gamberetti, tuna was the only one below expectations, but overall a nice experience. They use their own oil, which was also really good. If I need to make a couple of notes: a bit too much salt everywhere and 3 euro for the coperto (service) where there was not even a tablecloth is a bit too much. I would really like to give 4.5/5 stars as review, but unfortunately is not possible, so leaving 4 because I like to give 5 only when everything was perfect. Definitely recommended for nice fish food at honest price.
