The restaurant/decor feels a bit dated. The food was alright, but not nearly good enough to justify the price--nearly 300 euros a person, if not more. Raw mashed prawns and a bland potato soup were the start of the meal, neither of which was exactly appetizing. The ravioli and veal medallions tasted good, but overall very simple for the cost. And at the end of our meal, we had to wait 30 minutes because the waiter was talking to another table who seemed to know the owner.

We had an amazing evening @Acquarello with an outstanding truffel menu. Mario and the entire team managed to provide a culinaric experience of next level. If you want to forget the outside for some hours and indulge into an extraordinary world of tastes, you should set the Acquarello on top of your list. The pictures cannot even describe the experience. Thanks again Mario & Team! We look forward coming back soon.

It's a pleasure to meet global chef Mario Gamba at his restaurant Acquarello in Munich. This restaurant has a Michelin Star and the best Italian restaurant in Germany in 2013 and also one of the 100 best restaurants in the world, according to Forbes list. In 2015, chef Mario Gamba was honored by the Ministry of Agriculture and members of the Italian Restaurant Guide jury as the best Italian chef worldwide outside of Italy. This restaurant is characterized by excellent food with high service, especially the presence of chef Mario where always present with customers welcomes them and ask for the quality of food provided to them. I rated The Restaurant as following : Food Quality : 5 Service Quality : 5 Cleanliness : 5 Atmosphere : 5 Value : 5 A unique experience I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and experience the Italian food with beautiful and international touches

I expected a bit more from this restaurant, the interior design looks a bit cheap, however food is tasty but nothing super special, small portions, but they look absolutely stunning. It was nice experience but I wouldn’t come back

Very pleasant surprise. In general, the German world Michelin star restaurants are below the expected standards, but this was really up to the expectations for the service, wine selection/pairing, and quality of food. I highly reccomand trying it of you happen to be in Munich

During a recent dining experience, I was disappointed with the service at the restaurant. The waitstaff’s attitude was not very enthusiastic, and there was a noticeable difference in how different customers were treated. From my observations, there was a significant disparity in service between European and Asian customers. As an Asian customer, I felt the staff was indifferent and neglectful, while other patrons received more attentive service. This unequal treatment was unpleasant, and as a result, I will not consider visiting this restaurant again. I hope the restaurant addresses this issue and provides fair and consistent quality service to all customers.

The place was recommended to us by our hotel Sofitel and we were put under the impression that this restaurant is full and may don’t accept us then we were ask to rush to it and when we arrived nearly two to three tables are accepted by the tine we arrived up to the time we left. Nevertheless the food was not Italian as they dont serve pasta or salaf even add to this the price is so much high . Bad experience.

Absolutely delicious!!!!!! I love everything about this place. The food was delicious and beautifully plated! The chef/owner comes out and introduce himself and makes you feel like your part of the family! I enjoy the staff, they very very professional and know their wine selection very well. I love how they know which wine would be good with each course! If you are visiting Munich please please try this restaurant is absolutely phenomenal!

LET ME TELL YOU that this place is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in my entire life. The food was phenomenal. The service was flawless and extremely effortless. The serves would simultaneously place food at the table to make it look as seamless as possible. I work at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago as a host at the Adorn bar a restaurant. This service was extremely similar to what you see at a Michelin star reasturant. INCREDIBLE!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

I had to think carefully before rating this place and, I considered it for a while and decided that, giving it two stars is generous. This is one of the 15 odd Michelin starred restaurants in the Munich area and we have been to quite a few of those. It would have to be the worst Michelin starred restaurant we have been to in the world, for a variety of reasons. Despite having informed the restaurant about food restrictions for one of the people they were totally unprepared for it. I even double checked my confirmation to be sure that I had informed them, as they claimed there was no notes, which was a lie. It took over 3 hours to serve a 5 course meal which was small and I walked out hungry. It took four requests to get olive oil for the bread. At least three to four times the waitress tried to pour water out of empty bottles. At this level of restaurant I do not accept such sloppy service and such a slow kitchen. The first course did not come out for at least an hour or more. We ordered the spring menu which was five courses. Each course was so small that I left the place hungry, despite eating lots of bread. The tuna tartare was nice but the overall dish did not pack a punch for me at all. The pasta course of parmesan crusted ravioli was very nice and tasty, the fish soup too sweet and fennely, the fish cooked beautifully but the portion was too small, and the dessert, was the smallest portion I have ever seen in a restaurant of this level. It was barely two spoons :-( We had one small amouse bouche to start and that was it. One of the stingiest kitchens I have ever experienced anywhere. The bread basket was lovely with a variety of small round bread rolls. Wine list here is small but has a nice selection of Italian wines. I wish there was a bit more to choose from in the mid price ranges. Overall here is my view: Food - 3 stars Wine list - 3 stars Service - 1 star Value for money - 0 star Ambience - 3 star Portion sizes - 1 star I would never come here again. I don't mind paying for good food but, this is just overpriced average Italian food that lacks the creativity I would expect, in a Michelin starred restaurant. Two of the tables next to us were looking equally disappointed with their steaks and in fact, one of them sent their steak back for cooking. Maybe this place was really special in the past but given the choice today, they have much work to do. Three out of three of us agreed it was average at best.

Great ambiance. Wine selection is top rate. Quiet. Wonderful flavors and impeccable service. Owner attentive.

A must visit in Munich. Small but good wine selection that pairs well with the light italian cuisine. We had as staters the royal artichockes and the eggs with aspargus foam. As main course the pasta with taleggio cheese and spices, the king prawns with risotto. And to finish the moscatto d'asti with pannacotta! Very good!

Das Acquarello ist ein sehr huebsches Restaurant in Muenchen mit einer sehr netten und geschmackvollen Einrichtung. Wir waren jetzt mehrmals hier essen und werden es wieder tun. Der Service ist gut und das Essen ist sehr gut, allerdings sind die Portionen manchmal doch sehr klein.
