Acropolis Steakhouse

If you're a lifelong local...you have eaten or know about the legend that is the Acropolis steak and how much of an incredible deal it is. I was looking back at old pics from like 8 years ago and the steak dinner special has only gone up like $2 in that time...that is effing wild! Acropolis is a Portland institution and it's such a Portland type place too especially back when Portland was known for being affordable and had an amazing value while also having the most strip clubs per capita in all of America. Growing up in Portland, after going to a club or a show or a Blazer game your choices of finding something late night to eat was limited to Taco Bell, Hot Cake House, Montage...and if you were with all your guy friends, the Acrop. I'm sure you all know by now, but the owners of the Acrop also own a cattle ranch, and are able to cut the middlemen out and offer you a fantastic steak or steak bites fresh from their ranch at rock bottom prices. Is this place going to beat out any steak at a proper steakhouse? No. Is it going to beat out a lot of the lower priced steaks at chains or pubs? You're damn right it will. Real ones know that you can call ahead or go around back and order from the pickup window. If you wanna eat on the go...steak bites are the way to do it...or if you wanna be a little more classy you can just get the standard steak special, and try to cut through that steak with plasticware lol. Portland has changed a lot in the last 20 or so years...but one thing that hasn't changed is how great a late night steak is at the Acrop for less than the price of a typical Taco Bell order, and I'll bet that it stays that way for decades to come.

I didn't know what to expect of Acropolis. It's old school weird Portland, so I knew I had to go. What I didn't know, was that it was gonna be good. This is a dive bar, steakhouse and strip club all rolled into one. Just like 100 other reviews, I too was surprised that the steaks were good as were the fries. Solid pours at the bar and good music. I went in the middle of the week 2 o'clock, truly for the steak, so it was pretty subdued, prefect for lunch.

Went to get takeout as my friend did not want to go inside I would have. The food was superb, steak bites and onion rings, delicious and service at window was friendly and efficient.

Good food, beautiful girls, fun and friendly!! Do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't regret it.

My friend told me we were going to go eat at a steakhouse so he was not lying. But upon entering the building, I quickly realized this is not a regular steakhouse haha. That being said, the food here was pretty damn good. I had the steak bites and my buddy had the ribeye and we were both pretty happy with what we ordered. It did take a bit long to come out though, I don't know if they have only one cook in the back or something but it felt like we waited an eternity. I get it though, there were other people in there who also ordered food and we all know how long it takes to cook steak. I would definitely come back though just to try some of the other stuff on the menu. I get the feeling it is probably all really good.

This gem of an adult oriented business is a classic. One of the older strip clubs in the Portland metro area, it's major claim to fame is its delicious and varied menu. The historic building is kinda deceptive. It's far larger on the inside than it appears from the street view. The management for the most part is friendly and professional. The performers are very diverse and whatever your favorite type of artist is, chances are she's waiting for you. The overall prices are very reasonable and I've found that the atmosphere and overall vibe is extremely pleasant and the aura of the club is relaxed and low key. If you're looking for a bit of visual stimulation and a great choice of excellent food options, then the Acropolis is a great place to check out and enjoy!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Tasty breakfast, great price for steak and eggs. Friendly and funny staff, and some good ol' fashioned entertainment. Just don't expect to get pics of your food...or even see your food, mood lighting and strict no photo policies and all.

Great spot steak was great and well priced but someone needs to turn the lights on and clean the dust off things. Don't let that discourage you the plates and cups were clean.

Amazing steak, I can't believe how good it is. If you come here you have to get it. The service was pretty good, nothing extraordinary. Ambiance is classsssssic.

This place is very rude. Very rude staff. Rude workers at the door. Tony himself doesn't communicate very well. This place is better off being shut down.

Acropolis, A-Crop.. a long standing landmark for us Portlanders that have been here forever.. the natives of Portland past. Older now, maybe no wiser, but still sometimes game to visit old haunts and relive a few good memories. The Acropolis was a place that you could count on feeling at home with likeminded individuals that want a "steak with a view". For the low price of $8 you could get a steak that would blow your mind in a well run busy fun environment. Those days have ended my dear friends. Not sure how long ago but they are DEAD memories now. This place is downright dangerous. Dangerous in a way that I now understand why they have a heavily armed guard at the door. This man was honestly the only reason we walked out of there with our lives last night. We were targeted by not only the DJ but some of the customers that seemed to be "running" the place. Oh I know what you must be thinking. Drunk dickheads acting inappropriate... not the case my fine listeners. 3 normal guys sitting away from the rack and tipping well. My advice to all that read this is to think long and hard before going to there. Something tragic could happen there at any time and I for one will not be there when it does. RIP A-Crop of yesteryear, I'm sorry it's come to this..

Best burger and steak bites I've had in Portland.. the back window is key. The staff is kind. But the food is awesome

We do love this place, but the steak has gone downhill. It used to be so tender and more bite size. Now there are huge pieces and they are nearest tender and they have gristle on them.

Went here because it's touted as "an OG Portland strip club" and left very disappointed. It was somewhat busy on a weekend, and bar service was a little slow but okay-not super friendly but not rude either. The steak was...really bad. There were multiple stages open with dancers on each one, so I tipped of course. I wondered why no dancers came to say hello at our table or offer private dances-you kind of expect that at most clubs. A dancer told me they are "not allowed" to approach customers and offer dances-HUH? The whole point of going to a club is to be approached by women and entertained, so why isn't this a thing here? Seems backwards. I observed wires hanging from the ceiling above one of the poles(!!!), dirty uneven and worn bar tops that dancers were forced to dance on to even be seen by the audience. One of the poles also looked uneven and was making a noise when it spun. I'm not into patronizing a bar that can't even provide basic safety for the people that work there. This place needs some serious repairs and a deep clean. The dancers were definitely talented and nice, so I can at least say one positive thing, but I won't go back.

Great staff. Good drinks. Good food at a decent price. Steak was a little overdone. Gorfeous girls.

I love their food don't have to go into their place of business to order (if you do not want to) in the back they have a order window. I always get the steak bites that comes w/ garlic toast and two sauces or I order the lamb gyro (anything on the side is .50 charge). Both items are absolutely delicious they offer other items on their menu as well. I'm pretty sure they are good to but, these are my go to items. Sorry no pictures

Turned away at the door for being "Too friendly." Bouncer said we "Looked drunk."...? Fucking weirdo Portland behavior... Heard the steak is good but didn't get a chance to try it or tip. Won't be back, thanks.

Nice first experience. At first I thought the food would feel very generic, but it turned out decent. The staff are there to serve you. Brings me a nice, unforgettable memory from Portland.

This is more of a review for the food than for the women. I heard that the owner of this establishment also owns a ranch. This is why the steaks are huge and inexpensive. They have plenty of beers on tap (65). Very affordable prices and pretty down to earth.

We lovingly refer to this place as "Steak and Buttholes". It is genuinely fantastic. The steaks are legit good. They have a ridiculous number of beers on tap, most of them local. And the ladies work hard for the money. Seriously, some of the gymnastics involved were super impressive. Even with the COVID restrictions (it's kind weird to not be able to sit along the stage) it is still a great night out. Designate a "runner" to take your tips to the stage!

One of the best steak dinners I have ever had in my life. One of Portland's best treasures. Service was amazing, the price and quality of the food? Even better!

Steaks!? Yes! Steak.... Are you here for tits or steaks? Maybe both. They have it all. It's a fun place for a meet up for work, fun or anything else. Ive had many work meetings here, partied here, but these days I'm older and don't really do strip clubs. Now I really enjoy the good steaks, steak bites and food at the back door. The price is good and the food is wonderful. I don't even have to go inside. I often stop by after work for some food. Go here asap!

First time in today... It appears this place survives on it's reputation alone... Physical building = 2/10. Food (steak and bites) = 4/10. Bartender = 5/10. Dancers = 2 /10. Just putting the word "Steakhouse" in the name of your business, does not make it so. If you think this is good steak, I'm not sure where you are eating or how you are cooking your steak. It was not good. Dancers had attitude and never took their panties off?!?! I was told to tip before dance. I'm used to tipping as dancing or after. Will probably never go back. Absolutely zero draw. Much better clubs around town!

Always a great breakfast....no complaints at all, been enjoying steak and eggs here since 2014. R.I.P. to the old man!

Good food, beautiful ladies. Bring cash, their atms are expensive. I think the service fee was like $10 to use the atm? I was absolutely bewildered seeing that. Id rather go home and do a cry and slow jerk in a circle but luckily I had friends to help me get in without that and I enjoyed it. Had a man bun and the lady dancing grabbed it and smacked it against her cooka which was super neat. Love this place.

Been a few years, so was in the area and stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. After bragging up the food and menus, I was disappointed to see that the menu is only 1/3 of what it used to be, wtf! The whole place is run down, I mean really run down! There was even a nice hand smear of feces the inside of the stall in the women's restroom. "Didn't know finger painting was allowed?" Service was okay, and our hamburgers were okay as well. The entertainment was horrible! (Not really why we went, but if we did, there was nothing to see here) Will not be back. I will not recommend food anymore either! A shame, use to be a decent place for a strip club.

The truth is this strip club has really gone down! It's dirty broken down ghetto! The steak was delicious and didn't disappoint! One of the dancers was so damn lazy there was a young blonde on Healeys she didn't get naked and counted her cash while a set was go that's gross and tacky! There was a beautiful dancer with a full body octopus tattoo she was amazing beautiful talented full of fun energy and her music choice was on point thank you for being the bright light in that dark hole! If you want a good steak they are still the place but not for a good show sadly!

Review written in 2021, but last visit was pre-pandemic. File this under the "How have I never written a review of this place?" Been here a few times. Dropped in on a Friday early afternoon/lunch time and there was no cover. Got the chicken strips which were decent enough for less than $5. This meal was more filling and better cooked than pretty much anything from a fast food joint. And ONLY $5! Oh yeah, and strippers. At lunch, I could get fed for less than $5 and a view of the tittays! Sure, the place isn't the absolute cleanest. And to be honest, the dancing area is a little small. But if I graph a chart of quality of food vs price, it's definitely on the up side. Add in the extra entertainment and the plethora of taps, it's a win. It's just too bad I live in a different state.

Amazing food and great dancers! These prices are crazy low! Must check out! We couldn't believe how low these prices were given the huge portions. The dancers were also a bonus...very sweet and personable. Great diverse kick tonight! The door staff and bartenders were nice too! We will be back!

This place has really good steaks! The prices have gone up durikg covid times because the price of beef went up. The service at the pickup window can be hit or miss and sometimes they dont answer their phone for to go orders, but the food is always really good. After going there for so many years, I can say this is a good place to go for steak.

When I think of Portland the following come to mind...misty tree tops, donuts, beer and strippers. Heard about a strip club with 62 taps and by the way, it is also a steakhouse! I was intrigued. So after finishing up some work, I stopped by on a rainy Thursday around noon. The exterior of the building looks like a circus. I made my way in, dark, security guy at the door checking Id's between smoking cigarettes outside. The place has a few dance stages, pretty spacious area. I headed to the bar to check out the 62 taps I heard about. I was expecting more local or craft beers, but most the taps were big name beers, but still very cool. I also noticed a salad bar, classy. Business as usual, handful of men being hypnotized by the siren song of slowly dancing sultry women. I was surprised to see the girls were not topless, maybe it was still early and I only stayed for one beer, I was not drunk enough and I was getting the creeps being the only woman in the place who was not in her undies. Definitely a spectacle of a place, but I prefer Mary's.

Steaks, naked women, mean servers and T-bones for under $15 with a baked potato? Will the servers be super sweet? Nope. Will the steak be aged and selling for and comparable to something you'd pay $50-80 for? Nope. Will it be a unique Portland experience. Yes. Will you eat a burger or Gyro for under $10 that could be more? Yep. Will you eat a steak for $7-13 that could sell for more? Yep. Will you order a 2 pound colossal burger for $10 and hold it and try to eat it as a dancer tosses her legs over your shoulders? Maybe. I have always had a good time here and many friends from out of town have heard about this place and want to go here - men and women alike. I have always had nice chats with the dancers when it was not busy. Yes, I have waited for my meal (sometimes a long time), and had a hard time getting the servers to see me, but I had the chance to talk to a server one afternoon and she told me "people never tip us!" so it makes sense - those servers are working at a busy place where people are tossing $1 bills at naked women, but people are coming in for a cheap steak and not tipping? Yep. Tip. Are these the best steaks in the world? Nope. Are they good and well worth the cheap prices. Yes. Take out: I have gone to the to go window and had an order in and was on my way (my ex GF did not like going inside) in 10 minutes. I have also gone to the to-go window and waited 20 minutes for someone to answer the buzzer. Service on the inside on a busy night can be slow. Just know in advance that a to-go window order can almost never be phoned in, and the wait might be long, but all in all, I keep going back to the take out window (with locals) and to the bar/strip club (with friends from out of town) and let the Acrop be the Acrop. When I let the Acrop be itself (meaty, big, and bouncy), I am never upset.

Overall an Enjoyable experience but I was expecting more with their reviews and their status in several "Best strip club" articles. $5 cover charge on a Friday night (not bad). The wait at the bar to order a drink was almost 10 minutes the two times I went to get a drink. There was initially only one bartender, and a second showed up later that night. It took nearly 30 minutes for a waitress to get our food order as you order where you sit at one of the 4 stages. The interior is outdated and worn. The seating was limited to old chairs I'd expect to see at a cheap banquet hall. The stages consisted of a cheap imitation-wood counter-top that had obviously seen better days. Overlooking the initial disappointment, the girls were very friendly, rotating out about every 3 songs. Full nude, lap dances costing $30 ea with the girls not being pushy about dances AT ALL. After ordering our food, it came out pretty quickly and actually cost less than our drinks. Tasted decent for chicken strips and steak fries. Somewhat uneasy about eating while a girl is twerking over my plate, but got over it pretty quick haha.

$4 cover charge weeknights ($5 on Weekend nights) after 5:30pm. Best BLT on the planet if you're sick of eating their flavorful $7 8-oz house sirloin with huge baked potato & Texas toast, or their $5 hamburger made with a full pound of ground beef or the all day breakfast, including a 10-egg ham & cheese omelette for $8.50 or classic bacon & eggs for $5). What can I say? I love the food here (most of it, anyway, and watch out for deep fried foods unless they've admitted to changing out the oil in the deep fryer recently!) And if you don't want any tits in your food, since this is, after all, a strip club, then eat here early (before 2pm). Or just order it to go (but expect a $.25 per item surcharge on to-go orders, AND you better plan on changing out containers if you don't eat it shortly after, because the to-go containers are paper and anything juicy or steamy hot inside will turn the boxes into soggy, soft, bendable storage that your food will fall out of when you try to pick it up later.) I don't have anything to say about the inside of the club or the dancers, because I only go there for the food, and I order it to go from the door in back. I think there are something like 62 taps of beer (and even a few pressurized wines) and liquor drinks that run about $5.50 each. It's been a long time since I've been inside, but if it hasn't changed, then the restrooms are are absolutely disgusting (I'd rather pee behind my car in the parking lot!!) And if you want cleaner, nicer (and all vegan food, then go next door to Diablos and pay their $8 cover to walk in the door or whatever it is. (Maybe you won't want to wash your shoes off after using their restrooms!?)

A Portland Icon and one of the best Ribeye steaks you'll ever eat for under $14. Love saying "I am here for the food" and actually being truthful. Certainly hope that somehow they survive the overblown fear scam currently poisoning everything and wrecking lives left and right. If a place as established like this goes away due to nothing more than ignorance and fear it will be a damn shame.

I never been here or a strip club. But I came across a video and I was amazed of the ability of these young ladies when performing. I was curious to hear from some other females reviews not just from men. Ladies please leave a review.

This is an outdated review, went here on my honeymoon and had a fantastic time! Got a steak and loaded potato at a great price, and all the dancers were great! The choices of music that night were super geeky and the girls seemed to just be having fun while naked and not just trying to be total sloots which is way lees creepy than some places! Best nudie steakhouse evar!

I do not post much but needed to make the consumers aware that this place is not worth all the hype. I have to rate this establishment with "0" (zero) stars for one very specific reason, Discrimination.

This is the most racist place ever. Friend from Guam presented his Guam drivers license and was asked for his passport because apparently Guam DL is not an acceptable form of ID. Then denied entrance to all of us. Definitely not recommended.

Let me preface by saying that I've never been to a strip club and if this is what they're like no thank you. Yes, I'm calling it a strip club and not a steakhouse because that's what it is. The dancers were nice enough and I'm not into bashing other women. They did their darnedest I'm sure but it would be wrong if I didn't note the fact that with the exception of one dancer they all seemed detached and disinterested in their clientele. One dancer kicked a patron in the head with her heel and another slapped her behind while looking at the clock. I can't believe that this dingy hole in the wall shack is somehow being referred to as a steakhouse. The place is outdated, the steak tips tasted like liver and the T-bone is a joke. They served low quality meat and to be frank I found it hard to finish the third bite. The pictures online are deceiving.

I'm still not sure what or how I offended/intimidated their security but i wasn't even allowed to enter the establishment. I had friends from out of town with me, I'm a respectable business owner and have no idea what the problem was but security immediately surrounded me when I tried to enter the building and they behaved like I had already been a problem. I will not return to this establishment no matter how much I enjoy the steak bites. I ended up at Devils Point where I was treated like a welcome guest. Acropolis used to be a great bar, I will cherish the memories

What a wonderful place to go and grab a affordable bite to eat and a adult beverage. There is 65 beers on tap and also 2 wines on tap too. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are video lottery to keep you entertained (I cashed out $145.00) or some very beautiful dancers in the nude to interact with. I had the steak & eggs for $8.00. The steak was very juicy and tender it comes with two eggs, hash browns and your choice of either toast or English muffin. Parking is in the front or you can take the Orange line Max train to SE Tacoma and Johnson Creek station and cross over the bridge.

Potentially an unsafe place for POC/anyone of a different ethnicity. I walked in and the bouncer asked to see my ID. He looked at it and said, "Pull down your mask." I hesitated for one second, (literally one second, !COVID TIMES! Haven't been asked to pull down my mask any of the 100 times I've purchased alcohol since March) and then pulled it down. He was aggressive and said, "I have to see your face if you're coming inside" I said, "no I get it" (like rly, just haven't ever been asked to pull my mask down ever) and he says, "Nope, it's probably not a good night for you to be here" was angry/aggressive towards me (straight up power tripping) and made me leave. Thought he was having a bad night, or was anti-mask (also yikes) but this was all after looking at my ID and seeing my last name/ethnically ambiguous face. I'd had one drink prior to arriving, def wasn't bc I looked/behaved inebriated. Tried to make sense of it but ultimately, the reaction felt personal. P sure that wouldn't have happened if I had blonde hair. Just trying to look out for anyone that could also happen to. Stay safe friends. *Edit to respond to response from Andreas P.: No, I did not roll my eyes. Like I said, I understood after pausing for literally one second that it made sense to pull down my mask to reveal my identity. I was absolutely not giving the bouncer attitude, I was complying with his request. And for the record, it was the people around me who suggested his reaction seemed personal before I brought that up myself. He didn't realize I was there with others before he made me leave. 'As it tends to match their ID' makes it sound like you think I hesitated because I was using a fake ID or one that didn't belong to me? Is it really so outlandish to think that someone might be taken aback and hesitate to pull their mask down when someone is right in front of their face? I said NOTHING to the bouncer when asked to pull down my mask. I paused, and then I pulled it down, and he took it as a sign of me questioning his authority even though I let him know that I understood why I needed to pull it down. So yes, reserving the right to refuse service to a minority woman who did not smile and pull down her mask without hesitation when asked to by a large aggressive man who had no understanding of personal space. Thanks for clearing that up.

This place is legendary service may not be so good sometimes but the food has always been on point i've been able to take my two employees and myself for lunch for under 60 bucks and drop the cylinder heads off the machine shop right down the road around the corner
