*𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙪𝙥𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙩!* **𝘽𝙀𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙀** This restaurant is not 100% vegan/vegetarian despite the very misleading signage!! The door literally says “VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN” which leads people to believe that this restaurant doesn’t sell meat. That, unfortunately is wrong and very false advertisement. Not only does this restaurant sell all kinds of meats, but when you order they will not clarify that for you. I ordered the “carnitas tacos” unbeknownst to me that they’d actually contain pork. I’ve had this restaurant on my list of places to try for so long so I finally decide to treat myself and go after a tough day. What a disappointing experience. I will never eat here again. Before coming in, I read the reviews which all rave about their vegan/vegetarian meals and once in the store I saw the words “vegan and vegetarian” plastered everywhere so there was no reason for me to suspect that I would need to specify I don’t want to eat meat at a “vegan and vegetarian” labeled restaurant. I even took a look at the website and nothing there suggests that animals are cooked. All the owner had to do was add one last word to the signage: options. It should instead say “vegan and vegetarian options”. I’ve eaten at dozens upon dozens of vegan restaurants all over this country and even overseas and have never run into this issue before. It feels very purposeful. Like they’re following a trend and they know that if they put up those words, they’ll draw people in only to make it seem like it’s the customer’s fault when they find out animal meat is sold. Such a shame. **Edit because the owner just responded to place the blame on me when in reality their signage is confusing. Period. So predictable! As of 09/20/23 there is no disclaimer on the menu to indicate meat is sold!! Out of the 70 reviews currently posted there may be ONE review BURIED under the plant-based reviews that explicitly mentions meat. I shouldn’t have to rely on reviews to inform me about critical information regarding your business, that info should be readily available. Own your mistake, fix your errors, and stop being witty with your customers. Not a good look.

The tofu was really good but too mushy for my taste. Made my stomach uneasy. At first it was an 8 but as I kept eating it went to a 6. It was very busy so the wait and quality made me want to eat @ chipotle. Worth a try when the food is fresh and way before closing as they got slammed with orders and only 2 workers. Also, the lady taking orders is so so sweet. She refers to everyone as “sweetie,” and allowed us to get a free drink for our inconvenience. Such a cutie! The customer service goes a long way. Personally not worth the $16. This was the vegan bowl with tofu and no jalapeño. Has a bench, a table with 3 chairs, and 3 stools by the window.

Google
This was my 1st time ordering, but it will definitely not be my last. As a vegan, it can be hard to find authentic vegan Mexican food. This place is as good as it gets. I got the taco combo plate, and as you can see from the picture, the serving size was huge! Yes, I ate all of it lol. Food was delicious and seasoned great. I really can't say enough good things about it. The team and food at Across The Border are the real deal! Huge vegan and veg menu with plenty of offerings for non vegans, too! Don't sleep on these guys, get over there and get some good food!

So when I heard the food truck was opening up in the heart of Jamaica plain a restaurant I couldn’t wait. The joy that came a pond me was x marks the spot type of feeling. The food has so much favor, great customer service, when I tell you finger licking good , don’t miss out on their catering food truck also. Prices are great won’t kill the pocket for what you get in good is amazing. I’ll be going back again and again. Got the cheesy fries 🍟 tonight.

Decided to stop in for the first time on Valentine's day. I thought it would be quiet as a casual, local restaurant but I was wrong. Minimal seating and no bathroom (usual a deal breaker for my small bladder.) Food took a bit to cook but everyone was very nice. Vegan and vegetarian options. My burrito (which had tater tots!) and sauce were delicious. Perfect for takeout.

Small spot with delicious vegan food, definitely check them out! I loved the vegan chorizo bowl and the rice was cooked to perfection. Will stop by again soon!

Wow the food. The best part is tex-mex. So flavourful. Ambience is ok as it's a small place. Service is amazing, people were very polite. Overall great place.

Google
Incredible spot, delicious vegan burritos and deserts, just know that seating is limited before going. A must-get if you're looking for amazing vegan takeout.

Yelp
This was the most amazing catering experience I have been a part of! The food was delicious, everyone was raving about the options and how great it was. The service was amazing - they go above and beyond. We had this food truck for an event and they helped make everything amazing. I highly recommend Across the Border - great food, better people!

Yelp
So I wrote the review and got to craving the food so I went and got some. I am still right, it is still amazing. Still tastes like a home kitchen, ugh im obsessed with this place.

Yelp
Ordered from here via delivery on GrubHub. I saw it being built and was glad to see this was an option for delivery. The meal was huge but I ate most of it because I can pack it in, but could feed 2 people who don't eat as much. Came with a side of black beans and some sort of sauce. It was very good and I'd absolutely recommend this place for vegans and vegetarians, as a lot of the local Mexican places really don't have a lot of good stuff if you don't eat meat

Yelp
Mouth watering. Full vegan and menu for those meat eaters as well. Wicked large portions. Everyone who works there is sooo nice. Not many chairs to eat in, but a few. Love love love. Many creative options and the worst part is making the decision of what to get since so many options that I always want to eat

Yelp
So excited to have ATB food truck stop by my place of work today! I guess others were excited too because there was a line, but it moved fairly quickly! They have burritos, tacos, nachos, and quesadillas. Your fillings can be steak, chicken or veggie. I didn't see a menu on the truck itself, but I had looked at the menu prior to checking them out. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It came with guac, pico, and sour cream on the side (I omitted the pico). It was yummy and filling. The guac was delicious! One suggestion I have would be to add more seasoning (not salt) to the chicken and to brown it more. Still, it was a good lunch! I paid under $10 for my quesadilla. It seemed like paying with card was a little bit more. Hope they come back soon.

Yelp
An awesome spot to go to for vegans! This sweet family-owned business is welcoming, so kind, and beyond thoughtful with their options! I went to their new brick & mortar in JP and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend the vegan chicken quesadilla and the vegan Boston burrito! Don't sleep on the homemade vegan chorizo either!

Yelp
These are the real deal you all--these are the best tacos in terms of authenticity I've had since moving here from the West coast--even better than the ones I had in Chelsea. If you want a real Mexican taco experience, try the steak "classic" style.

Rob N.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly. Though the location is small there is some seating.

Yelp
Doug saved the day when our other food truck canceled just 5 days before our graduation party. He was so nice and responsive and ensured us he would make sure we had a great party. Everyone was raving about the food and the churros he was passing around were a huge hit with the kids. Would highly recommend Across The Border Food Truck! We are so grateful to Doug and his team.

Brad L.

Yelp
I want to give a huge "shout out" and thanks to Douglas and his entire team at ATB tonight. Douglas custom-cooked the best vegan burrito I have ever had anywhere ... and he and ATB get extra stars for being extra cautious with food allergies and related issues. Wish they had a place in LA! They are my new "will-always-go-to" whenever I'm back in Boston. Thank you for going above and beyond ... and having it be so delicious!

Yelp
OMG Decided to order Uber eats from this place after work and was afraid I wouldn't like them since I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food! Had the vegetarian nachos and LET ME TELL YOU!! It was such a good move!!! Do yourself and bless your taste buds with the flavors of their grilled veggies! They tasted so fresh and full of flavor!! So glad I made the decision to order on a whim!

Debbie R.

Yelp
Outstanding food and great customer service! We hired ATB food truck for a corporate event and could not have been more pleased! Douglas and his crew are great to work with. They are so accommodating, polite and always smiling! Not only did they have amazing food, great portions, they also brought drinks and appetizers which was great for our event. They went above and beyond to help make our event a huge success!! Will definitely be hiring them again! Must try the Cheeto, Dorito, Frito Burrito!!!

Yelp
I have had a few food trucks in my driveway, and this one was hands down the most satisfying experience. I used to think Mexican is Mexican but hands down this is elevated. The jalapeño poppers were a hit too! The salad eaters were raving as well. Service? Doug saved our asses when our other truck cancelled 5 days before our huge party. He became our therapist too, reassuring us and calming us! He was prompt, professional and a lifesaver. I will be hiring him again!

Yelp
The service here is impeccable. The owners really value quality and customer experience. I am vegetarian, and they always take a dollar off my meal since I buy it without meat, something so many restaurants have stopped doing. Also very creative with food and toppings (eg. hot cheetos or tater tots)! The one thing that could make the food better would be some brightness/ acid to contrast the rich taste, eg. some pickled onions or a squirt of lime.

Yelp
Great service. Line moves fast. The Cheeto burrito is giant and delicious. The bowls are packed with toppings. The steak is tender and flavorful. Definitely one of my favorite food trucks!

Yelp
I have not tried the food truck, but the brick-and-mortar hole-in-the-wall location in JP works well as a mostly-take-out/delivery place with a few seats for those who want to dine in. The staff is personable, and the food is great! The owner is proudly vegan, and they offer vegan chorizo (yes!), chicken, and tofu for meats, as well as vegan sour cream and vegan cheeze. I am from TX, and this is the first casual place I have been to in MA that knows how to do nachos! And they make them large enough for 2-3 people. Just be clear about what you want on them. If you say "vegetarian", they may put peppers and onions on if you don't specify otherwise. They are right next door to a bar, and plenty of folks at the bar like to get their food from there. They also offer options for gringos who don't like Mexican food: burgers, fries (including cheese fries with cheese sauce, the way God intended), chicken tenders, all with vegan versions.

Yelp
There are a few times in life when a meal is so expertly crafted and planned that it's nothing short of genius. Well last night my family and I had one of those meals-the Cheeto burrito. The dish was excellently prepared. Grilled, juicy and fresh. The staff were very professional and personable. I would highly recommend across the border to all my friends and family. Thank you across the border for treading my family as if they were your own Sincerely The Diaz family

Yelp
Was told Across the Border food truck would be at the august moon festival. They didn't even show up. Apparently they just ghosted the event. It was just an empty space. UNRELIABLE.

Chris F.

Yelp
no showed our wedding on June 17th, 2023. we paid in full mid February, he confirmed with us on June 6th,2023. we have plenty of screen shots, didn't show up to the wedding, didn't call. he then blamed the bride for not communicating with him in the morning the day of the wedding. told social media he apologized but in reality he told the BRIDE "shame on you" via text. blamed the bride and groom for not running his business for him, absolutely pathetic. when we requested a full refund for $1800 which we paid in FEBRUARY he only refunded $100. IF you book this truck for an event just know you need to go to the market for supplies, fill his truck with gas and drive it to your event. after that you probably have to cook your own food. guy went on vacation, came home and never even bothered with his job or obligations to his customers. buyer beware, or at least have your local pizza place on speed dial. thank god for Abington house of pizza, they took our call and catered our wedding within 40 minutes mid ceremony.

Yelp
Best quesadilla and Burritos ever! Friendly and polite people! Its a food truck but you, have to try their food! There wait time is not long..

Nia T.

Yelp
The nastiest food truck. Bought a burrito and a quesadilla for almost $25, and it was undercooked, taste was plain, girls give attitude to customer and are very slow.

Matt K.

Yelp
Worst tacos I've ever had. Meat and tortilla were cold. Cost as much or more than Chipotle and much much worse.
