We stayed here last week and had a wonderful time. ||Akrotiri is a quieter village on the island with beautiful Caldera views. Theres a few local, good restaurants, a couple of gift shops and markets. A public transport bus runs from 9am - 8pm going to Fira. The village is suited for people wanting to relax and be in a quieter area. ||Acroterra was a fantastic hotel. The staff were always so friendly and helpful. ||We stayed in room 105 which was a great, big room. It is situated above the bar and sometimes we'd hear some noise from below, but would never carry on throughout the night. ||The breakfast each morning was great. The staff would ask if you'd like cooked eggs. Great variety of cereal, fruits, vegetables, pastries, hot selection and breads.||The pool was relaxing. Always somewhere to lounge and the views were stunning. The pool is cold, very cold, so we would only have short swims in the afternoon. It was a refreshing dip. ||We only ate at the restaurant the night we arrived and had a salad and pizza, which were nice. ||Reception helped us hire a car for the day. The car hire bring it to the hotel and collect from here too. We found this very useful. ||Dont forget the climate tax you have to pay at the end of your stay. It is a 5 star hotel meaning you pay the highest rate of €15 a day during high season. ||Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you can book one of the rooms with the full sea views, maybe the private pool or jacuzzi, we wish we could of got one of those rooms but were still very happy with ours.
