This place was highly unprofessional. When I called in and provided insurance info, they ensured that my insurance did in fact cover the costs of the massage and acupuncture. When I arrived for my appointment, I asked again at the front desk if they are sure I’m covered and they said yes. In the middle of my massage, the clerks come knocking on the door, interrupting to tell me that the massage is not covered by my insurance and I have to pay out of pocket. Then, after the acupuncture, I go out to pay my copay and apparently out of pocket for the massage. The front desk clerk tells me that nothing was covered by my insurance and I have to pay $300 out of pocket after all is said and done… I tell her this isn’t fair and ask if there is literally anything they can do. She said she will call her manager to ask and call me the next day. I did not receive a call for anything. The services were mediocre. I will stick to my acupuncturist in Chinatown, even though it’s a little further, because they accept my insurance and confirmed. I would rather pay out of pocket for Lee Spa massage because they’re better and fairly priced. I know upfront that they are not trying to scam me with insurance reasons.

I went to Dr. Jimmy for good massage but was surprised how effective accupuncture and massage is. He opened my eyes to a whole level of treatment I wasn't aware of. Dr. Jimmy is able to diagnose muscle problems, treat, and cure them. He does excellent work and I highly recommend his services!

Yelp
No, I did not have a Groupon! I had a flyer that was handed out on the corner of Lexington Ave. and 77th St. (#6 train stop). I did check the yelp reviews prior, but not nearly as deeply as I should have. Anyway I knew to expect a very small place, but in reality, it is miniscule! So I made a same day appointment for one hour acupuncture and back massage. As advertised, $45. So Dr. Jimmy (I'm not sure what kind of Dr. ) asks me if I have insurance. I said I do but we are out of network, blah blah, I will pay the $45. So he does his needles on my back and then puts a heat lamp on me whilst I"m in the very small room with a barely working air conditioner. I asked him to come back in 10-15 minutes please so as he wouldn't leave me there for 30-45 minutes as other yelpers claimed. Then he very roughly massaged the areas and I had to ask him to stop as he was really hurting me. I then asked if he would do the massage and he said,"I get you woman." The lady was pretty good hence the one star. I did have to ask her to close the door since there was another gentleman client outside. Once the massage was over I handed her a $50 and she said, "it is minimum $10 tip!" I said "where does it say that?" I was initially considering zero tip, but i felt bad for them cuz there English is terrible and she did do a good 30 minute back massage. Then she said "it's ok, it's fine, i will tell him." So she accepted my $5 tip, how gracious.... My advice is to look for other Asian massage places in the hood, the UES or travel to Astoria....

Yelp
Was walking by the neighborhood and decided to check this place out since my normal acupuncturist was booked. Jimmy doesn't not speak English very well - therefore he couldn't fully understand what I was asking for or saying. I've had acupuncture many times - his needle placement did not really alleviate any of tightness or tension in my muscles and when he connected electrical stim he put the machine too high - I tried explaining to him that it was too strong but he didn't understand. After 10 mins of discomfort I finally asked him to just take it off. I did fire cupping as well - again I didn't feel as if he targeted the areas I asked for. It wasn't the worse cupping I've received but definitely not the best. Here is probably where my biggest issue was. The massage. Now I love deep tissue massages and I have a high tolerance for pain ... but when you dig your elbow into bone instead of muscle tissue - it's clear you have no idea what you're doing. His massage was very rough. I have an athletic muscular build and I was in a lot of discomfort. Instead of rolling out my knots he rolled over my bones. Def will not be coming back here. If you're looking for better service check out Manhattan Wellness Group. Much more professional office setting and the acupuncturists speak English and actually know what they're doing.

Yelp
How can ANYONE rate Jimmy less than 5 stars!!! JIMMY WONG HAS SAVED MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! My DOORMAN saw me limping and suggested I go to Jimmy - who btw, TAKES INSURANCE!! Jimmy actually CALLED THEM FOR ME which I found to be wow, THANK YOU! I went to meet him, and yes, the spot is small but by no means, uncomfortable. It is VERY CLEAN, Jimmy DISINFECTS EVERYTHING including his hands multiple times throughout your session. He DOES speak English, and he understands everything you are saying - but yes, it has a Chinese accent and sometimes you have to pay more attention to understand - but we have full conversations for an hour + and by no means do I speak a word of Chinese! I am a division 1 combat sports athlete on the road to the Olympics. I have two ankles that the TOP RATED doctors examined and determined I NEEDED SURGERY ON BOTH ANKLES. I have a mother that had foot surgery, and she was worse after, not better - so I decided not to do the surgery and I have been looking for something NATURAL to help me. Physical therapy did little to nothing for me. A year later I am still in pain seeking help and when I went to Jimmy - the first session I was scared! I hate needles! I BARELY even felt them though! He was very GENTLE and KIND and explained EVERYTHING to me! (I ask a lot of questions haha) The MASSAGE, yes, was the more painful part because he has to break up the inflammation and heat the area enough so you have best results and the acupuncture has best results. He then put Chinese Herbs inside bandaids and sent me home.....after more than an hour!!! HE DID NOT LOOK AT THE CLOCK ONCE!! He is not doing this for the hype or the money - trust me THIS MAN IS A HEALER!! *****In THREE SESSIONS HE FIXED ME!! I AM ABLE TO WALK AGAIN, I AM ABLE TO TRAIN AND EXERCISE, I AM ABLE TO WEAR DIFFERENT SHOES AGAIN!! **** **YOU NEED TO GO EVERY OTHER DAY FOR A FEW SESSIONS TO GET OPTIMAL RESULTS!!!*** Since he has fixed my ankles, I told him I want the FULL TUNE-UP! Jimmy has found fibroids in my stomach, toxins in my hips, and has completely fixed my insomnia. I SWEAR BY THIS MAN. YOU CAN ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS YOU WANT @KORANDKARMA (instagram, just message me) THIS IS NOT A PAID AD - BUT THE MAN IS MAGIC AND IF YOU ARE IN PAIN, ARTHRITIS OR ANYTHING, OVERWEIGHT, STRESSED, SLEEP - HE REALLY CAN HELP, NATURALLY!!

Yelp
I have been having sciatic nerve pain that travels down my leg for the past year. After seeing a top Neurologist at NYU and having an MRI I was told to try acupuncture and Dr Wong is the best. I live on the UWS so I take a nice walk through park. His office is on the upper east side in a great Location if I want to grab lunch afterwards. Office is very clean and the treatment tables are nice and warm. I go 2x a week and have noticed a major difference in my pain level. His assistant Helen who gives me a message after my treatment is the BEST I have ever had. I have been to many high end spas that don't compare to her level. If you like deep tissue than she is it. I'm so happy that finally my pain is managed properly and I can finally get a good night sleep.

Yelp
I am coming here for about 5 years. Not to mention hands down the best in a world massage, but about a year ago I was diagnosed with the TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA (TN). Tests, MRIs, different doctors, medications through the roof later the pain became unbearable and I was referred to a neurosurgeon for a brain surgery. While the surgeon was taking his time to schedule a consultation the pain could no longer be controlled. Someone suggested to see an acupuncture in Albany who would be able to help. So before taking a hike all the way there I asked Dr Jimmy if he can help. The next day, after my FIRST session with him 90%+ of pain was GONE. After the next session it is even better. So, please let his English be not so perfect one - HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!!

Yelp
The best massage ever! I came out feeling like a new person. All of my problem areas were worked out. Amazing deep massage that was just right. Super convenient location right next to the 6.

Yelp
I have been going for treatments for over 20 years to various practitioners of acupuncture. All I can say is avoid this establishment at all costs. Bought a groupon and decided to use it. I walk in to a space that is about 200 sq. ft divided into 3 tiny rooms....2 of which are where the massage tables are....the third is where you stand in when you walk in. The door to the one room was open and I could clearly see a woman give a massage to someone while the acupuncturist is asking me questions about my health! Privacy? NONE. Professional? NOPE It gets better. I walk into the 2nd room, told to take off my shirt and lie face down on a table (don't even think it was a massage table!). The room is so tiny, the practitioner is unable to walk around the entire workspace. A very brief conversation about why I'm there ensues and then he begins the treatment....no washing of hands. He places the packets of needles on my rear end. So every time he needs one, he is touching my behind. I then have to listen to an entire conversation in Chinese for about 40 minutes before he comes back to check on me, asking me whether I was able to fall asleep. Fall asleep? I'm checking for rodents under the table and kept awake by the talking. After the needles are taken out (at my request!), he massages my upper back. Although it was a deep tissue massage that felt wonderful, again....no hand washing before hand. I could feel the grime on his fingers! AND here is the kicker....as he is manipulating my left arm to loosen it up, it brushes up against his genitalia. Yup! that's right!!!!! Accident? Don't think so. He suggests I make an appointment to go back the next day. Sorry I say, no time. He walks out of the room, I get dressed and he proceeds to ask me for at tip! Yes, a tip. Like I said I have been going for treatments for over 20 years. No practitioner has every asked me for a tip so I wonder whether he even has a license to practice. I said, I don't have cash and his reply? You can put it on your credit card....at which point I bolted out of the space and out of the building.

Yelp

Yelp
If I could give 4.5 stars, that is what I would give this place. The place is tiny, but it functions effectively enough. Dr. Jimmy really seems to know what he is doing. The "acupuncture followed by massage" service is a very good deal for the money you pay (significantly less than other acupuncture places in NYC). I have been a few times and always seen pretty good results. Rather than go on a Groupon, I just called them up and asked me what the best deal was they could give me.

Evelyn H.

Yelp
Bought a groupon. Tried to book an appointment way in advance of the expiration date. They refused to honor it. Had a heavy accent so I wasn't sure what they were trying to say about the groupon, but the moment he heard "groupon" he said clearly, "Groupon, we cannot redeem" **************** Edited to add that I just contacted Groupon and they said that the deal was canceled on 3/14/16. I am still leaving the one star because the business offered a deal in good faith and should have honored it. However, Groupon also deserves censure since they knew about the cancellation on 3/14/16 and it is now 6/23/16 and they did not offer me an automatic refund but just waited to see if I would contact them or let the deal expire...

Yelp
My boyfriend went to see Dr. Jimmy for a massage and he was happy with the results so I decided to try him. I visited Dr. Jimmy for acupuncture for sleep disorder and blood circulation. Only saw him once, and my review is positive. The seemed knowledgeable, efficient and professional. Will return again soon. To be continued...

Yelp
I wish that I could give this 0 stars. I had a groupon from this place and I called for an appointment and he said he doesn't except groupon deals. I don't understand why a business would advertise on groupon if they have no intention of honoring it. What a horrible business mentality.

Kalaya P.

Yelp
I always thinking of Dr. Jimmy first when I have back pain. I have known him for a while. His fingers and massage are magical. He can help me to get rid of all the pains away. One time, I hurt my legs and feet a lot from my hiking. With his magic touch, I could feel relax and walk again. I always recommend my family members and friends to him. They all love him! But I feel unfair and sad for him to get some bad reviews from the cheap people! Anyway, I still go back to see him as always!

Yelp
This is a no frills establishment and yes, it's very small, but if you want to get your body worked on to get every kink out, I recommend Nini, whose name must be short for ninja. She gave me a serious terrific massage, and I still felt amazing the next morning I woke up. Go if you are just needing a massage and don't care about being pampered or aesthetics of a place. They just mean business.

Sara Y.

Yelp
DO NOT BUY A GROUPON FROM HERE! Tried to make an appt the morning of. Didn't realize I called before hours, but someone texted me back - odd for an 'office phone.' Broken English. Told me "Pay here" and "No groupon," but when I pressed for WHY they wouldn't accept it, and then told them my groupon was valid until mid June, they stopped responding at all and ignored me. All via text, instead of waiting to call me back during business hours. Going to call Groupon and see if they'll refund my friend. It was a christmas gift, and I was looking forward to using this after a particularly hard workout yesterday. UPDATE: They told me that Groupon said we couldn't redeem here anymore and it "make trouble for me and for customers." Groupon says that the venue actually requested that they stop honoring groupons. So they're also trying to lie and place the blame on groupon.

Yelp
Jimmy did an excellent work at getting rid of my knots. I am preparing for a half iron man so I definitely needed that. The place is rather simple, don't except the fancy spa or anything like that but it gets the job done and it's cheap! Went with a groupon the first time but would go back without the second!

Yelp
Groupon deal states "one 60 minute acupuncture treatment WITH tunia massage". I purchased this groupon with notion that I would be receiving acupuncture as well as a massage. First of all the place is dirty and dingy and the woman who massaged me shoved me immediately into the room. She started massaging me right away with no questions and the whole time I was anxiously waiting for the acupuncture to begin once the massage was complete. Once it was over she told me "that's all" and I said should I wait for the acupuncture here? And she said "I asked you which you wanted" NO. The groupon says WITH, not OR. I showed her the groupon and she continued to argue with me. This was after I already changed into my clothes again. Another guy comes out who was cleaning the bathroom and tells me he'll include the treatment for free. So now I have to go back in and take off my clothes again. He comes in (yes the guy cleaning the bathroom!) and asks me where my pain is- I was looking forward to the treatment for back and chest pain as well as anxiety and IBS. He doesn't even let me finish after I say back pain and sticks 6 needles in my back in the spots that hurt and puts on a heat lamp on and leaves. For 40 minutes. While I'm in there I hear the man and the woman YELLING on the phone the whole time and being super disruptive. I wanted to jump up and leave but I have needles in my back. The whole time I'm laying on my chest (which is sprained by the way) and in serious pain. Isn't this supposed to be a pain management treatment? Finally he comes in a rips the needles out of my back and tell me I'm done. I quickly pack up my stuff and jet for the door until he stops me and demands a tip! I leave ten dollars and run out, crying. And with more pain than I came in with. It was an absolute nightmare and quite frankly I would like my money back. This was not as advertised AT ALL. ***** Update: Groupon graciously refunded my money. DO NOT GO HERE! I'm in severe pain the next day. This place is a joke.

Barbie D.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I have been coming for a year and get 1 hour massages from either Dr Jimmy or Kelly. They both do an amazing job and the rooms are always clean. If you want a bigger place than don't look for $45 messages go to a spa and pay double. Tell them exactly what kind of pressure to use and they will do what you are comfortable with. I highly recommend this place.

Kyle W.

Yelp
Really great professional message. Good value.

Tif H.

Yelp
Dr. Jimmy is best acupuncture and massage. His specialty s too good and his staff are amazing. Keep my health body to work. Really nice and nice man and nice clean place.

Patti G.

Yelp
I bought a Groupon this past week and they took me right away! Had a 60 minute deep tissue with Kelly and it was amazing! She asked what areas I wanted to focus on and what pressure to use. She was wonderful and I am going back in 3 weeks!!

Allison S.

Yelp
This was the worst massage I have ever had. I specifically asked for no elbow and the first thing he did was go in with the elbow. It was like he was trying to take out all his frustrations on my back. Horrible. I don't know if he knew what he was doing at all. It was not a pleasant experience. I was bracing myself the whole time for the pain. Awful. Do not go here.
