What you need to know before booking a stay at Ad Lib hotel:
Food - definitely the strongest part of the experience, with breakfast offering a very wide selection, including live cooking and 'street-food' like stalls, serving pancakes and Thai soups. Various fresh fruits and egg dishes available. Bonus point for the pasty section with delicious croissaints
Rooms - I've stayed in a ground floor room, which indeed, as other reviews mentioned, doesn't have much light during the day. Rooms are spacious, with AC and air purifier. Beds are super big, with comfortable mattresses. Design is not very modern.
Location - key point to consider. While it's quiet, to visit key points such as Talat Noi, Chinatown or Parks, you'll need some more time (BTS/Subway, but not direct, Grab - however in the area there's high traffic). If your focus is on exploring the city, I'll choose another location, closer to the river. Hotel has a free Tuk-Tuk to the main street, which saves you maybe 5-7 minutes of walk.
Staff - very friendly and helpful, they take very good care of you during the meals. Check-in and -out process was very fast, however hotel required 4000 Baht deposit (which was returned during check-out)
Pool - the pool is clean and relatively long (around 20m), so you can go for a swim there. Even though the pool is on the roof, don't expect panoramic view on Bangkok's skyscrapers, as it's only 3rd or 4th floor.
