What an amazing little gem of a place! We found this restaurant on Instagram, and it did not disappoint! It is a little crowded inside, and once you get past that, you're set. The service was superb, the recommendations were spot on, and the food was delicious! I will DEFINITELY be going back!!

I absolutely love the cozy intimate vibe this restaurant gives. The aesthetic is wonderful with all the brick and old photos feels like you're eating at Nona's house. The service was amazing. We went based on a review we saw on social media about the food, but it was disappointing. I was excited to see such a specialized menu so I had high hopes, but it was all very bland. The pasta was heavy and greasy and had no flavor at all, and the risotto was not creamy just seemed like plain rice and lacked flavor as well. Would I come here again? Perhaps just for the atmosphere, so maybe to share a bottle of wine or something, but not if I was looking for a meal.

A Midtown Gem That Feels Like Sunday Dinner at Nonna’s Tucked on the corner of 21st and P in Sacramento’s buzzing Midtown, Adamo’s Kitchen looks modest from the sidewalk—exposed brick, a chalkboard specials sign, maybe eight tables and a long communal bench. Step inside, though, and the place wraps you in garlic-scented hugs. The Adamo family (dad John rolling pasta in the open kitchen, daughter Chiara greeting every regular by name) has turned this 40-seat nook into the neighborhood’s living room. On the night I visited, the room hummed with first dates, birthday toasts, and one guy proposing over the carbonara. Yes, she said yes. I came hungry and left borderline euphoric, thanks to three dishes that should be protected by California law. First, the meatballs. Three fist-sized orbs of Niman Ranch beef and pork arrive swimming in Sunday gravy so bright you can taste the San Marzano tomatoes. One bite and the meatball collapses into velvet; the parm shavings melt on contact. I mopped every drop with the house garlic bread—crisp exterior, pillowy middle, brushed with roasted garlic butter that should come with a warning label. Next, the chicken alfredo. Forget the gloopy dorm-room version. Adamo’s fettuccine is extruded fresh daily, ridged just enough to cradle the sauce. The cream is light yet luxurious, sparked with black pepper and a whisper of nutmeg. Grilled Mary’s chicken strips carry perfect char marks and stay juicy inside. Twirl, bite, sigh—repeat until the bowl is a crime scene of sauce streaks. And the french fries? Sacrilege to order fries at a pasta temple, yet these “sucio” fries are legendary for good reason. Hand-cut Kennebecs, double-fried, then buried under melted mozzarella, pancetta bits, garlic aioli, and a snowfall of parm. They’re the love child of poutine and garlic fries, and I fought my friend for the crispy shards at the bottom. Service is pure Sacramento: zero pretension, maximum warmth. Our server Erin remembered my friend’s gluten-free request from six months ago and steered us to the polenta add-on without being asked. Wines by the glass lean Italian and under $12; the house Chianti punches way above its weight. Portions are generous but not obscene—enough to share, enough to take home a midnight snack. My tab for two apps, two entrées, fries, and three glasses of wine: $94 before tip. In 2025 dollars, that’s a steal for handmade everything. One tiny quibble: the room fills fast. Reserve on Resy or risk the “maybe a seat at the bar” shuffle. Otherwise? Flawless. Adamo’s isn’t chasing Michelin stars; it’s chasing the feeling you get when someone’s Italian grandma cooks for you and refuses to let you leave hungry. Mission accomplished. I’m already plotting my return for the winter gnocchi and the next pasta-making class. Five stars, zero notes, endless cravings.

This restaurant is deceiving! From the outside, you think it that might be a simple looking, slightly shady restaurant in a shady-ish area of town. When you enter, it transforms into a chic, cosmopolitan little space that looks very inviting. I would recommend getting a reservation especially if you are a bigger group because they were busy on a Friday night! Thankfully, we could get seated at the bar. The menu is well-thought out. It isn't extensive, but we liked that they offer some classics and some of their own culinary fusions. We think they are attempting to create their name in the Italian cuisine industry here in Sac, as they seem to have updated menu items, they serve wines from their family vineyards in Italy and are also promoting pasta making classes. I love that! Ok, onto the wine and food. I ordered their classic white, which was 50% Chardonnay and 50% blend and my husband ordered their classic red, which was a red blend. I don't know which component of my white was buttery, but the wine wasn't as crisp as I was hoping for. The red blend was better. Food wise, they did a good job overall. We ordered their stuffed cherry peppers as an appetizer, the gnocchi, and the four cheese ravioli. The stuffed cherry peppers were simple, elegant and delicious! The plate was a few cherry peppers stuffed with goat cheese served on a bed arugula with a drizzle of an excellent balsamic vinaigrette with some black pepper. The simplicity of the components made this plate even more delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Highly recommend ordering this appetizer. Onto the pastas: the gnocchi was excellent - light, melting in the mouth with ample amount of delicious sauce. This is one of the best gnocchi plates my husband has had, and he is particular about his gnocchi! The garlic bread was a tad disappointing because it could have done with a more butter and garlic. It felt a little dry and didn't taste like fresh bread. Dipping it in the gnocchi sauce helped, but I would've liked better bread. The four cheese ravioli took some bites for me to like it. My main issue with it was that I thought the ravioli was slightly undercooked but my husband felt it was ok. The pastas are all handmade so we commend them on making the ravioli but maybe we needed to boil it for a couple more minutes? The sauce for the ravioli was very good - spicy thanks to the peppers, lots of pine nuts and spinach. The cheese inside the ravioli was decent, but just that - cheese, no additional flavors there. I had the same complaint about the garlic bread not being buttered/garlicky enough. I think this dish is almost there but needs a few tweaks. For dessert, we got the tiramisu. The look of it was disappointing because it was not made as a big portion but constructed in a jar. The look was aesthetically pleasing for a flair but this meant that the dessert didn't come together like a normal tiramisu does. It was also overtly sweet. The color was quite pale. We would've liked more coffee. We've definitely had better tiramisu desserts before. I think this is a great restaurant. Their service is fast, the servers are friendly and once inside, you forget how the outside is! They have some cool decor like the wall of $2 bills. Their food is definitely hitting the mark for the most part, but they need a few tweaks here and there. A few weeks ago, we went to Paesanos where we had a great experience. Between the two, Paesanos leads currently because of their garlic bread and the tiramisu but I think Adamo's has a higher quality of pasta. We will be back to try more of your menu!

We took the Pasta 101 class. It is $120 per person and lasts from 11am-2pm. We made 4 cheese ravioli and it was super fun and informative! John was a great teacher and the ravioli we made was really delicious. Appetizers, salad, dessert, and wine were also included. There were 11 of us in the class and there were spaces up to 14. I would recommend booking early because the class fills up quickly.

I recently visited Adamo’s for a friend’s birthday celebration with a large group, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. Atmosphere and Service: Adamo’s has a cozy, intimate setting, which is great for smaller groups. However, it may not be the best fit for larger parties, as the atmosphere felt a bit cramped. Additionally, we were asked by the owner to quiet down, despite another table also celebrating a birthday, which felt inconsiderate. The restaurant also lacked air conditioning, making it quite uncomfortable. Food: The food was mostly a miss. The standout dish was an appetizer with octopus and fennel, which was deliciously prepared. The meatball and polenta dish was also quite good. Unfortunately, the carbonara was overly oily, and the bacon was undercooked. Another guest’s gnocchi special was extremely spicy and lacked seasoning. The arancini appetizer was bland, and the bruschetta was just average. I wouldn’t go there again because it literally and figuratively left a bad taste in my mouth. Hope this helps you not have a bad experience on your birthday

Google
The food was FANTASTIC! Absolutely no notes. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We had the summer arancini and I had the salmon picatta (salmon medium well). The wait is a bit longer for food but it was worth every bite. No wonder there’s a wait to be seated! It’s best to make a reservation but they helped us the best the could without one.

Yelp
I only heard positive things of Adamo's and after a friend said they wanted pasta decided to come here. They have limited hours, so recommendations are highly suggested as it is a smaller restaurant. You may be seated at the bar if you dont have a reservation. We started off with risotto arancini with a cheese sauce, which comes in 3. I ordered the four cheese ravioli, which had a nice spicy kick to it. Not pictured, but included with our meal was a house salad and the bread. The ravioli was very cheese, and the pesto sauce was good as well. The drink menu consists mainly of wine, but we also ordered the italian cola which was refreshing. There were a lot of people but not too noisy where you couldnt have a conversation.

Yelp
This place is sooo good. One of the better Italian places you can find in Sacramento. I think, as of late, it has blown up on social media, so it's been harder to get a reservation. The staff are polite and do their best to accommodate long lines, but can seem a bit rushed/brusque. Food for thought: why do we accept bad service at a Chinese restaurant in lieu of good food, but have higher standards for Italian or American places? I suppose the food prices may also play a factor. The restaurant always has a cozy warm feel with brick and wood decor while still feeling mid-scale. Offerings: - Bruschetta: This comes with a variety of four different types of bruschetta, so for the picky eaters in our party, they were disappointed with only being able to have two versions. We, on the other hand, enjoyed all of them. The "wild ones" were our favorites. Caramelized onion jam and basil pesto! - Bolognese: This has always been a staple here but I will say I find it complex but maybe lacking in salt a bit. The mirepoix really shines through. - Carbonara: excellent flavor, no notes. Beware, this is a rich dish! - La Medusa: This was my attempt to break out of my ordering cycle and I was pleasantly surprised. The squid ink noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. The clam shells were a fun addition to maneuver and the pancetta provides the perfect salty kick. I also found the dish has a bit of spice from the jalapeño! - Creamy White Wine: They usually have a version of this dish on the menu and the flavor is very consistent while the ingredients may not be. The beet pasta was colorful and fun! I will say, the sauce is a bit on the acidic side but still very good. - House Salad: I don't particularly love the house salad. It feels very basic (I guess that's what house salads are), and the pickled onions are a bit much for me. The tomatoes that come in it are delicious though! They don't do anything special for birthdays here other than putting a candle in your dessert if you purchase one.

Yelp
I was looking up best places to get pasta in the Sacramento area to carb up for CIM. Adamo's is on every page, so I knew I had to come. And it didn't disappoint. We were the second party in line around 4:45PM, and the couple ahead of us immediately confirmed we made the right decision to forego the other pasta place we had in mind. Its definitely a neighborhood friendly joint. You get seated at the bar if you have no reservation, and apparently reservations are near impossible to get. I liked how many generations have been involved with this restaurant as I love supporting family friendly places. I hit a PR for CIM and I'll credit it all to Adamo's. Thank you for the delicious fresh made pasta, extra salad, and extra garlic bread.

Yelp
Adamo's Kitchen feels like a real neighborhood treasure -- cozy brick walls, warm lighting, and that "come-home" charm that instantly puts you at ease. The moment you sit down you know you're at a place that cares: handmade pasta, house sauces, and a vibe that blends casual comfort with real Italian spirit. The dishes here deliver big: the pappardelle Bolognese is rich and slow-simmered, the gnocchi or four-cheese ravioli melt with flavor, and the "sucio fries" -- crispy Kennebec fries topped with bacon, cheddar, poblano sauce, and sour cream -- are a surprisingly perfect start to any meal. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and even when the place fills up, there's a sense that each plate lands with care and honesty.

Yelp
This place has been sitting on my list to go to for a while. It wasn't until my boyfriend was craving Italian food that I suggested this place. We were lucky enough to get seated in less than 5 mins on a Friday night without a reservation, although we were sat at the communal table. A small but cute place. It did take a while for food to come out but it was also packed. We started off with the bruschetta, which was all delicious. The pesto one needs to be reordered again cause it was so good. I ordered the carbonara and my bf ordered the four cheese ravioli with chicken. The carbonara was packed with so much garlic, I've never had so much garlic over power the saltiness of a dish. There wasn't a good balance between the two so this dish is a 3/10 for me. The four cheese ravioli however was really good and I wish I had gotten that instead. The spiciness isn't even that spicy and gives a good kick to the dish. We'll probably be back here for our next Italian craving but I will be ordering something else.

Yelp
this was a takeout experience. Order ahead was easy as pie. We didn't have a reservation, and we were not sure about big group dining so we ordered takeout as a result to avoid challenges. However, it appears that they can accommodate larger parties with relative ease. There is a paid parking lot adjacent the restaurant and street parking as well. The ambiance inside appeared cozy and intimate setting. The food took about 10 minutes longer than requested to be ready, but it was not a big deal. We ordered the caesar salad and realized there was absolutely no dressing. We were so disappointed because we ordered it for their "house anchovy dressing". House salad - they pre-packed these with their dressing. They were stored in the fridge altogether so the olive oil solidify in the cold as a result. This took some time to thaw and soften. TBH, I didn't even add the dressing. The onions and pepper were pickled and added flavors to the salad. Risotto - this was delicious and well executed. the grains are al dente. the flavor is rich and creamy. Gnocchi - the current menu's versions is light and spicy, the ricotta goes so well with it! Bolognese - this one hits the spot just perfectly. It is seasoned just right not to salty and flavor is spot on. Carbonara - wow, we haven't had a decent carbonara that doesn't separate. We would definitely return here to dine-in!

Yelp
I went here for a date night, it was the absolute perfect vibe. The restaurant was dimly lit with warm lights. The host was very friendly, seated us right away since we had a reservation. Which I highly recommend because the whole place was packed! I saw a lot of people turned away because there were no tables open. Unless they were willing to sit at the bar. I will say this place prioritizes the experience rather than quick service. Which I liked, it's part of European culture! To take things slow and enjoy. Which has also been proven to help with digestion and prevent overeating. The entree reached the table in about 45 minutes after we had placed our order. In between that time we enjoyed the salad and some wine. Great place to enjoy conversation and the company you have. If you're in a rush, not the place for you! The food, INSANE. The pasta is perfectly cooked. The sauce is so rich, flavorful, and deliciously creamy. The chicken is seasoned and juicy. The garlic bread is crispy and warm! Made the wait worth it! I highly recommend this spot if you love pasta!! They even offer classes to teach you how to make pasta, if that's something you're interested in. All in all, would love to come back and be transported to Italy for a night again.

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday with reservations and had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my table to be ready. I ordered shortly thereafter and the food did not come out until OVER AN HOUR. I don't know what's going on in the back of that kitchen but they need either more chefs or some better multitaskers. Luckily the carbonara was exquisite and made up for some of the wait. Rich, creamy, everything you could ask for. The fresh pasta is impeccable. Chicken was mid and dry and over priced 7$ for only a couple pieces of meat. Overall lovely interior and ambiance. Food is delicious but MAKE RESERVATIONS ahead of time or come to eat on a weekday.

Yelp
Great little Italian restaurant serving wonderful Italian cuisine. I ordered the Alfredo, which was absolutely delicious. They have a wonderful selection of wines. Located in midtown Sacramento. Parking is a bit challenging at times. So prepare to pay for parking.

Yelp
One of Midtown's most delicious hidden gems! I've walked by Adamo's plenty of times and recently stopped by for dinner. My partner and I arrived just after opening, and almost every table was already seated! You definitely need a reservation if you're planning to dine in. We were given the option of sitting at the community table or bar, and we opted for the bar top. Despite having a small crew, service was on top of it, and we were well taken care of. We ordered an Italian beer and wine, Summer Arancini, Carbonara, and Gnocchi. Everything came out just right, and you can tell that Adamo's uses high quality ingredients. I noticed that they're promoting pasta making classes and recommend following their Instagram to keep up with their special events. Adamo's is by far my new favorite local spot for some Italian fare and excellent pasta!

Yelp
Coming from out of out, I chose Adamo's for dinner, an Italian restaurant featuring home made pastas, wine from their vineyards, and cooking classes. I had high hopes. Seating: choose between bar and communal for walk in or reserve beforehand for a table Service: good hospitality but kitchen was slow yesterday. Had to wait 40 minutes for the pasta to come out. Maybe a chef called out? Communication could be better. Food: the pasta Bolognese was good but the seafood risotto was a tad watery. Both entrees came with a salad. The fried octopus was oilier than expected. Food was overall decent but the service and wait time could have been better or at least communicated.

Yelp
I'm so sad to say that I will probably never come back here. My last visit was wonderful and delicious. This time it took about 30 minutes to get the most basic pasta that they offered. The carbonara and chicken Alfredo. The servers never checked on us even tho they weren't busy. The pastas were so bland, not hot, and almost tasteless besides the boat loss of garlic on the carbonara. The portion sizes were even more d disappointing for the price. I will never come back here sadly

Yelp
The location is great. It's right in the heart of midtown near many other businesses, restaurants, and establishments. There are 60 free parking spots available and has an optional paid parking lot ($5) right next to the restaurant. There is also paid street parking available. It reminds me of a hole in the wall. The restroom is average looking so for those of who you care, reference my picture. It does not have the most luxurious interior if you are looking for a 5 star Il Fornaio type restaurant. The hype on this restaurant is through the roof! From Reddit to word of mouth, everyone talks about how this is the standard for Italian food in Sac. So you already know I had to come here and try this place out and leave one of my in depth reviews. The service was alright. The wait was almost an hour for our food! Our server was also a bit busy to check up on us regularly. I understand that they were very busy when we showed up (6PM), we were in a larger party, and they were short staffed. Also that the pasta is made in house which might take some more time. Just for the wait I had to remove a star but truthfully, the flavor out paces the wait. If I could leave a 4.5 star review I would. Just something to note if you are terribly hungry and don't want to wait too long. This food here is amazing. Authentic Italian for sure. The flavor of the house salad was delicious. It had fresh greens that weren't too crunchy and also not too soft. The bread was packed with flavor and crunchy. The bolognese pasta was fantastic. I don't think I've had a pasta that has more flavor, they made it with love. The chicken pesto sandwich...BANGERRR. It was literally the best sandwich I have ever had. I'm a huge pesto lover and it the flavor was so overpowering, I fell in love with the dish. It's like that ratatouille scene where it takes you back in time to where you were a kid. The prices are a bit steep. Don't expect to walk out of here for under $45 for a meal for two making this a ($$$) for me. The portions are on the smaller side. You will likely still be hungry after you finish your plate, might even have to order 2 meals or an appetizer. The flavor of the meal far surpasses the portions and price. Bottom line/TLDR: absolutely amazing food, one of the best in all of Sac.

Yelp
Tried this spot while visiting a couple friends who live in the area. It looks pretty divey on the outside, but is nice on the inside. We went with the following: Bruschetta - there were two slices with each of the four spreads/toppings. I thought they were all tasty but the cheese and the onion ones were my favorite. My friend liked the pesto the best. My other friend said they would be good. All smashed together on one piece of bread lol Arancini - these are okay. They were too overwhelmingly seasoned with something that tasted more Mexican than Italian. I would not get them again . Bolognese - The pasta itself was a perfect thickness and tenderness and the sauce was extremely Hardy and well seasoned Meatballs and polenta - I didn't try the polenta but the meatballs were okay. They're not very dense but not very soft either. But they definitely have something in them that tasted more Asian? We think maybe fish sauce? Carbonara - I didn't try this but it looks good and my friend had no complaints Olive oil cake - I've never had olive oil cake before so I have no idea if this is a good one or not. It tasted fresh and very moist. The cream was supposed to be strawberry flavored but I didn't really taste any of that. Overall food was good and I would come here again if someone invited me, but I don't necessarily feel the need to return on my own, especially given the relatively limited menu, I feel like I sampled everything I needed to.

Yelp
Adamo's should change its name to Iwantmo because every dish had me wanting more. This cozy little family owned Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of midtown is serving up some of the freshest homemade pasta in the area. I came in with high expectations and they didn't disappoint. As you walk in, you get a little vibe of Italy with giant pictures of different t places in Italy and the smell of fresh mozzarella and pasta flowing throughout. I had the Alfredo, octopus, and a nice Pinot Grigio. Loved every bite. The service was very pleasing giving great a great restaurant experience.

Yelp
Really lovely restaurant that has an authentic Italian feel. The service was friendly and quick but the food is the real win here. We got the octopus and it was so tender and melt in your mouth. I ordered the vegetarian panini and it had so much flavor with a delicious crunchy bread. My partner got the chicken Alfredo and the pasta was homemade and al dente. We ended the night with the tiramisu which was very tasty with a yummy whipped marscarpone. 10/10 recommend this place!! Will come again. I recommend a reservation because it did get quite packed for dinner.

Yelp
Amazing Italian food and a great choice to stop by if you're in the area. Adamo's is a small restaurant so they do fill up quickly especially during peak hours. I recommend making a reservation during the weekend like we did. I'll get to what we had quickly because that's what you're here for. :) Summer Arancini - 7/10 this had a Mexican flair which was unexpected in an Italian restaurant. The flavors reminded me of enchiladas with red sauce and the aioli was cilantro lime which was good but again unexpected. Peach Salad - 10/10 refreshing and light. Perfect for summer with all the fruit, tangy goat cheese, and crunchy candied pecans. Bruschetta - 6/10 this came with 4 different kinds and we all only enjoyed the Chèvre + Jam. Caramelized Onion, Basil Pesto, and Divana Tomatoes all didn't taste like it had much of a flavor profile and absolutely needed some seasoning. Four Cheese Ravioli - 7/10 good however I think I would've much rather enjoyed a creamy white sauce pasta. Loved the ravioli just not a huge fan of the Calabrian chili. It had a good kick yet just wasn't a winning dish for me. Carbonara - 10/10 simplicity at its finest and will always be a winner in my book. Creamy, filling, and a nice meaty taste & bite with the Applewood Smoked Bacon. Salmon Piccata - 9/10 when they mention LEMON they mean lemon. I liked it but our friend said it was a bit much for her. The lemon flavor was very present and not overpowering where it made it tart. I loved how this was served with salmon vs chicken. I'd like to get this next time. Tiramisu - 9/10 delicious and almost what I'm looking for in a tiramisu. I wasn't a fan of how the coffee custard looked lol however taste was amazing all around. Highly recommend this little gem! FYI, they only serve wine & beer. Meaning I couldn't get tipsy off some cocktails haha. Thank you Gabriella for serving us tonight!

Yelp
Good food. We ordered the squash, four cheese ravioli and bolognese. The squash was spicy. It wasn't that we couldn't handle the heat, the amount of heat just didn't pair well. The four cheese ravioli was spicy too but good spicy. Ravioli was definitely spicier than the squash but it went well together. It was fire. The bolognese was just okay. The noodles were excellent but the sauce was missing something, maybe spice. The sauce on the bolognese reminded me of chef boyardee. It was good but not $30 good. Wine was good too but forgot what we ordered. We want to come back for the ravioli.

Yelp
Adamo's is a lovely mom and pop Italian restaurant in midtown serving delectable pasta. The menu is not extensive which makes it very simple when ordering and allows you to try a bit of everything if you enjoy going deep into a menu. When I visited they had a seasonal appetizer (watermelon and shishito peppers) that were AMAZING!!! Who knew it would pair so well (Adamo's did! lol) If you are planning to visit, they do get very busy in the evenings so would encourage making reservations.

Yelp
I came here for a ravioli making class. I had never been to the restaurant but it has been on my list to try. What a fun time! I can definitely take what I learned in this class to make raviolis at home. John was very helpful and a good teacher. Everything was made from scratch. We got to taste 3 different wines, plus appetizers. I am very excited to come to Adamos one evening for dinner. I took at peep at the menu and everything looks delicious and is homemade. Cozy, hole in the wall atmosphere. Very small restaurant that gives off a homey feeling. I think they just opened a small patio in the back- perfect timing for summer.

Yelp
The pasta class was amazing! Highly recommend! Great food, wine and dessert. Can't go wrong with anything here.

Yelp
We don't go for Italian very often, but the weather lately has been perfect for it, and we were very tempted by a recent photo and video spread from our buddy Alex T. on his recent visit to Adamo's. Last week we came in for dinner and had a wonderful evening. Everything was fantastic and top tier. My honey made us a reservation for 7, and this worked out well because the space is on the smaller side and it was busy on a weeknight. We were showed to our bench seat right away, and throughout the visit I felt that the service was attentive for the most part. One dish was cleared before we were finished with it, that's my only quibble. It was done so quickly I wasn't able to say anything in time without raising my voice, which I was not going to do, thank you. I'm sure it was an accident ...but it felt awkward. I ordered the vegetarian winter mushroom gnocchi (one of the only ways to get me to eat squash) and we ordered the bruschetta medley to share. Both were perfect. Dinner entrees come with fresh garlic bread and a side house salad (yay pickled onions!). I loved the different bruschetta, especially the fresh tomato and caramelized onion versions. I don't think I've ever had better gnocchi in my life. We each had a glass of red as well. My Sangiovese went well with what I ordered, and the pours were generous. All in all, this is a solid date night spot, and the food tastes like it should cost twice as much in my opinion. I would definitely come back to try some of the other pasta offerings. Service is mostly friendly, and the space is nice. Apparently they have pasta making classes. Sounds fun! Vegan Corner: some items can be made vegan on request Bathroom Report: Very nice, no complaints Parking: There is actually an attached (free) lot that covers Adamo's and some of the other businesses attached. Hours: Currently only open for dinner hours, 5-10 pm Fri./Sat., 5-8 pm Sunday, 5-9 pm Mon.-Thurs.

Yelp
I've gone to this restaurant 4 times this year & every time, it hits in the best way. The staff is amazing & friendly, you can tell the owner loves his staff but also his customers. The food is amazing & I've now tried 4-5 different pastas, the salmon piccata is to die for!! Husband tried the new fall menu item, the Madusa, which consisted of clams & squid ink spaghetti & it was amazing as well. Truly love this place! **pictures will not do the taste justice at all!

Yelp
We had dinner here with a small group of friends and had a mixed experience. The good: The food was genuinely delicious, the spicy ravioli was a standout, and the restaurant itself is really cute and has a great atmosphere. The not-so-good: It was extremely loud, which made it hard to talk. Our server seemed very overwhelmed and disorganized. She mixed up our order, rarely checked in (we had to flag her down multiple times for water and refills), and service overall felt scattered even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The biggest concern was at the end: she dropped the to-go containers on the floor and then just put them back together instead of replacing them, which felt pretty unsanitary. I understand accidents happen, but items that hit the floor really should be replaced. Overall, great food but the service definitely needs improvement.

Yelp
When I want pasta this is where I want to be. This was our second time here. We started with the sweet stuffed peppers. She had the pasta Bolognese. I had the Spaghetti carbonara. We loved our meal here. I tasted the Bolongnes. It was really good. The carbonara was wonderful in a rich garlicky cream sauce. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and the sauce was amazing. It was quite rich but very garlicky. I had a glass of Sangiovese that paired perfectly. We shared the lemon cake with strawberry cream. I don't remember what the cake was called, but it was made with olive oil. Sometimes cake can be dry. This was perfect. Moist and flavorful. I love Adamo's the ambiance, service and most of all the food remind me so much of the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome. Prego!

Yelp
Adamo's Kitchen is located on P St near 21st St. Thankfully, they take reservations because this neighborhood restaurant gets packed on evenings! Not only do they make fantastic pasta dishes, they offer pasta classes!! There is a small parking lot on the East side of the restaurant but you might need to circle around the block to find street parking. There is a large communal table, a bunch of smaller tables, and counter seating which I personally think are the best seats in the house because you can feel the energy with the bustling waitstaff and boisterous patrons. I've dined at Adamo's a handful of times. They simply make divine gnocchi and pappardelle. At our most recent visit, we had their Bolognase (pappardelle, beef, mirepoix, San Marzano tomatoes) and Beef Rib (1855 Black Angus beef rib over mashed potatoes with red cabbage slaw and sautéed leaks). The Bolognase dish was outstanding - balanced flavors and perfectly al dente pappardelle. The Beef rib was fall-off-the-bone tender and absolutely delicious but quite oily because it was so fatty (which isn't really bad thing because it's partially why it was so delicious). We already have a reservation booked to visit again. This time, we're dining earlier so they (hopefully) won't run out of desserts like they did at our last visit. Last but not least, their Ceasar salads are also excellent! We substituted their side salads for a slight upcharge because it's worth it!

Yelp
It's so good I could cry. Was dreaming about the bolognese after my first visit. I had to go back to try a new dish. Now I'll be dreaming about the chicken Alfredo. Salad and garlic bread served with every pasta dish. They also serve wine from their own vineyards in Italy!! Wish I could score them higher than a 5. Just go!!

Yelp
7/25 They have been on my radar for a while now. My friends and I had reservations to come back in I think March or April of this year but the morning of the reservation we got a call saying that some equipment was out and the kitchen was shut down. Fast forward a few months later and here we are. We came for sort of an early Bday dinner for someone in our group. It's nice that there's some street parking around the restaurant but right next to them there is also a decently sized paid parking lot. Anyways we started off with the arancini and some wine before placing our entree orders. I enjoyed their red blend recommended by our server. The arancini had a nice crunch and had pretty good flavor. Where I think things kind of dropped off, at least for me, were the entrees. I had ordered the gnocchi verdi with a brown butter sage sauce with pancetta, green onions, fried sage, parmigiano and I had added chicken. I've only had pasta with a brown butter sage sauce 1 other time before this so I don't have much to compare to. What came out was a generous portion of gnocchi with a good amount of chicken and pancetta as well. What I quickly noticed however was a pasta sauce that, at least to my eye, appeared broken or separated. It was like eating nice pillowy gnocchi that unfortunately were swimming in an oily sauce. Is that what brown butter sage sauces supposed to be like? The previous one that I had tried was creamy, buttery and flavorful, which theirs was not. Overall it was a pretty salty dish. I liked that it came with a piece of bread but when it comes to bread I like them either served warm/hot. Theirs was served cold on one side and crispy on the other. Was it supposed to be like that? I'm not sure but either way I didn't prefer it. Their strawberry cake (don't remember the exact name) was nothing to write home about. I can say that I had at least appreciated the portion size. Some things to keep in mind. It was pretty loud in there so I wouldn't call it a very intimate spot. They recommend on their website to make reservations especially for the weekend. This time we couldn't get reservations but luckily we were able to walk in and snag a spot at their community table. This was another place where I teeter between 3 & 4 and I just couldn't get myself to give them the 4/5. Like they are just on the cusp but not quite where I felt they should be.

Yelp
Made reservations here for the day before valentines and was seated promptly. Small inside, cozy, possibly a little warmer than anticipated. Risotto was decent, but it felt a little flavorless. I salted it but it still felt hollow. I thought the risotto would be more wet. The carbonara was okay, but very saucy. The garlic bread was good with a crunch and I like the texture of the noodles. I've had similar carbonara, but didn't feel like something to write home about. I thought this place would be much more than what it was, so just temper your expectations and it'll be fine. I also recommend getting the seasonal items, because I feel like people who get those enjoy it more.

Yelp
Such a gem! It's small and cozy. The decor was really great to look at. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food was so amazing. The stuffed cherry peppers(not pictured) are a must. The salmon Picatta was so good the pasta was cooked to perfection. 3 Arancini (not pictured) lacked flavor to ME.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. There were 7 of us (and two small kids) but they were still fast and friendly. Get the bolognese!

Yelp
My husband was craving Italian and had never been to Adamo's so we decided it was time for a date night! We parked on the street around the corner and stopped in right before 7pm on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get a spot at the bar right away. The restaurant is pretty small and best for groups of 1-4 people, but with a reservation they could potentially accommodate slightly larger groups. The team here was so nice! From the moment we arrived until we left we felt taken care of and that they cared about our experience. We received cups of water right away and they checked in on us multiple times to see when we were ready to order. The menu is limited, but has seasonal items and it's all fresh. I had a really hard time deciding and asked our server for recommendations. We ordered the 3 Arancini ($16) as a started to share. The texture was great, but we both felt like the arancini could have been seasoned a bit more. It definitely needed the marinara sauce that it came in. It was cheesy and a great starter, especially doused in the marinara. I ended up going with the Four Cheese Ravioli ($26). It is described as calabrian chili and garlic oil, basil pesto and pine nuts with cheese ravioli. It was much more flavorful than I expected and the little flame next to it on the menu is no joke. It had some spice. I loved it! The portion was also a good size. My husband is an alfredo or butter based sauce kind of guy and was a little disappointed that there weren't more items that spoke to him. He ended up ordering the Chicken Alfredo ($27). This has pappardelle, Mary's chicken breast and parmesan cream. He said the chicken was delicious but was a bit underwhelmed by the sauce. I had a bite and it was a big contrast from my super flavorful four cheese ravioli dish. Our meals also came with a side salad which I loved. It's nice to have something fresh and crunchy along with the indulgent pasta. We each also enjoyed some Oktoberfest beers and the small restaurant makes you feel like you're enjoying a hidden gem, even though it's a well known gem. I would suggest checking out the menu before coming to make sure everyone in your party will find something exciting to them and making a reservation ahead of time if you can. They also offer pasta making classes which is so cool! They definitely know what they're doing so it's a great opportunity to learn from the experts.

Yelp
If you're looking for a great local Italian spot in Sacramento, Adamo's is it. I've been here a few times with friends, and the food is always consistently good. This last visit, I ordered the carbonara with chicken added, which was delicious and filling. Instead of their house salad, I upgraded to the Caesar salad - highly recommend it as a starter; it's so fresh and flavorful. We also got their seasonal arancini, which had corn in it this time, and it was so good. It wasn't what I usually think of when I think of arancini, but the flavors were blended really well and it was such a nice appetizer to share. The staff here is always so sweet, kind, and quick. It's just an all-around solid Italian spot to keep on your list.

Yelp
Wow! One of the best Italian meals I've had in Sac! We came on a Wednesday night and it was packed, with a waitlist. We almost didn't stay but I'm so glad we did. We started with the Aracini, which was very good. The flavors are very mellow. We then got served the house salad that comes with the pasta, which was also good. The sundried tomatoes were awesome and worked well with the pickled onions. The salmon piccata was light and fresh. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The gnocchi was probably the highlight of the meal - so chewy and the sauce was insanely good. Very garlicky and the pancetta was a great addition. The garlic bread (Acme bread) was a nice treat. Overall, super pleased with this meal. The food coming out was on the slower side but they are quite busy so understandable. Limited seating inside and only open from 5-9pm, so I definitely recommend a reservation. TLDR: Amazing Italian where no choice is wrong!

Yelp
Went there right when they opened and snagged the last table. Tried the bolognese and carbonara. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend. 10/10.

Yelp
Our family tried Adamo's for the first time, and wow! We all agreed it's one of the best Italian spots we've ever been to. It's nothing fancy, just a small, cozy place with such a friendly vibe, and the food was absolutely amazing. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Adamo's is absolutely worth the hype! In my opinion, the best Italian food on the grid! The food is perfection, just like the quaint, family-like atmosphere. I had the bolognese and it was divine. The owner checked in on us multiple times and was so lovely. There's a small parking lot behind the building, which is no hassle. I highly recommend having a reservation since there aren't many tables, especially if you have a larger party!

Yelp
I had a really good time at Adamos. We split a dish and had the arancini, and ended it with a yummy lemon strawberry olive oil cake. The wait to get seated was awhile 10+ before someone talked to us really.... so we opted for the bar. Good ambiance though and comfortable seating, just a smaller restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful though and accommodating to splitting our plate, which ended up being plenty

Yelp
Small long and narrow spot. Staff friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended but not necessary. They were able to sit us party of 2 easily but 4 or more I would reserve. A little pricey but well worth it . Food portions large and very healthy. All fresh . 100% recommend.

Yelp
A tasty Italian treat in Midtown Sacramento and one of my favorite meals during my trip out there. I sat at the bar and had very good service. Everything was extremely fresh and prepared quickly. Hard to comment on the ambiance since I sat at the bar near the kitchen, but the tables were not full and it was on the louder side so I imagine this place gets really lively at night. Would definitely come back! I enjoyed arancini and the vegetarian gnocchi and both were very delicious and prepared perfectly and well seasoned. The only downside I guess is that it's a bit on the expensive side for not being a "finer" dining ambiance.

Yelp
The pictures reeled me in. Disappointed. Came here for a date night. I should've known by the type of crowd standing in line but I was still hopeful. I like that there is a communal table. The food didn't taste fresh, tasted rushed, lack flavor and depth. Nothing to remember or come back to.

Yelp
I'm sorry to say this was not a great experience in any sense of the word. My son and I came downtown to try this place. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation and stood at the podium waiting to be noticed for about 5 to 10 minutes. There was one table for two which I assumed must have been for us finally someone came up and we gave our name and she pointed to that table. I said well I figured that was for us and I said I almost just went ahead and sat down and she sarcastically said "well thanks for your patience" then we sat and sat and sat and sat and sat until somebody came to take our order. I ordered salmon piccata, and my son ordered pasta Bolognese. The order took forever to come out the salmon I must say was absolutely perfect. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious the pasta however it was so so soaked in lemon juice I could not eat it. When she brought our main course, she said, did you get your salads? We said no so then she brought us the salads. I have to say that the two women that we dealt with who worked here both seemed very miserable and unhappy. They were not friendly nor worried about our happiness. They did not check on us because I would've sent my food back. She did not offer to take it off the bill Even though I ate none of the pasta. I don't think I will go to this restaurant again and I would be cautious to recommend it.

Yelp
We were looking for an Italian restaurant in downtown Sac, and wow did we find something amazing. Adamo's is phenomenal. We came back 3 nights in a row since we were here on business and tried 3 different plates. Everything we had was so great, the absolute stand out was their bolognese. So authentic, and the ambience is like a quaint cafe with just enough community seating and quiet tables. Bravo! Bellissimo!!

Yelp
Date night! Bf and I wanted to try a new place so decided to stop by. It was pretty cute and not too full so we were surprised we could barely hear our waitress whenever she came by. The food: the octopus appetizer was my favorite! Lots of garlic though so I would stay away if you're worried about garlic breath ahaha we also got the bruschetta- three different types and more than enough for two. I got the carbonara- I wasn't a fan. Too salty and I couldn't really finish it. I liked the salad it came with though! My bf got the ragú. Much better. Lost of metered parking on the street :)

Yelp
I think about the salmon piccata at least twice a week. Haven't been here in a couple of months and finally made it tonight. Holy cannoli.... I could cry tears of joy when the first bite hit my mouth. Anything you order will be the most delicious thing you've ever had. I had the Caesar salad (best I've ever had), salmon piccata (I dream about this dish; it's my favorite thing in the whole world), and cannoli. Ugh I wish I could eat the whole meal all over again. Our server was so sweet! She checked on us at the perfect times, and the woman bussing the tables grabbed our empty plates and glasses right when we were done. The owner John is such a sweet man. We took his pasta making class a few months ago and learned so much about Italy and pasta. The ambiance is the perfect Italian vibe.

Yelp
Was really excited try out the pasta place. I love the idea of fresh pasta noodles. However what really stood out for the night was the octopus appetizer. It was seasoned perfectly and very enjoyable. Of note, it's best to make a reservation before going in, i went on a Friday night and was glad that i had that reservations because the place was full packed. Love the casual busy ambience to the resturant. The waitresses were really busy and had to wave them down a few times to get some things like drinks refilled and extra cheese. But they were really friendly.

Yelp
I walked in to ask for a wait time only to be greeted by Mr. Adamo himself. Right then I knew I was in for something special. The place was packed we had a 35 minute wait but it being as packed as it was I knew it was worth it. My wife and I started with the arancini and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. We instantly fell silent enjoying every bite. The simple yet delectable spring mix salad with sun-dried tomatoes, pickled red onion, and vinaigrette only grew our anticipation of main course. Between every course I couldn't help but admire the atmosphere of the restaurant. Friends, couples and families all in their own worlds enjoying each others company. Meanwhile Mr Adamo and his staff hustling in the background reminding me of my own restaurant where I grew up working with my family for nearly 15 years. When it came time for our main course of the creamy white wine pappardelle I was overwhelmed by nostalgia. Every blissful bite sent me back in time to working with my family thinking of the love and effort my parents put into their restaurant. I didn't know it was possible for pasta to taste like a hug. Thank you Mr Adamo, and your amazing staff.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a while because of the reviews but unfortunately I don't understand the hype. The food was very average, dining experience was also very average and it's a very small tight space inside. Our waiter was not really helpful in recommending anything. Overall the experience was pretty disappointing.
