"This market has been slinging seafood for over 70 years in Adams Village. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, meaning they don’t mind if you point and ask what something is and how to cook it (the answer is usually with butter and lemon). You’re coming here for a wide selection of fresh shellfish like oysters (they’ll even open them for you for a little extra), as well as picked lobster, filets of monkfish, hake, halibut, pollock, and more. Need something prepared to take home? The lobster roll is solid, as are the fried and boiled dinners to go." - joel ang, tanya edwards

Google
Great local fresh fish and seafood dinners. I've been going here for 40 years. The quality has always been outstanding. 6 21 20. Dropped in and got the super chip today. Nice size piece of fried fish and fries. Absolutely fantastic. 3 20 24 great fish chowder. Stuffed with fish.

Fish was fried perfect, not too hard, not too soft and very tasteful. I definitely will be back again when it’s seniors day.

Great customer service. Family friendly. Food was fast and fresh. They took the lobster out the cage so my daughters could get a closer look. Love the place.

I went around 1:45pm and ordered a #2 which consists of 2lbs of fish, fries, and coleslaw. They used the cheapest fish (possibly cod) because I assume they believed I didn't know any better. The fish amd fries were very greasy, and the cole slaw was disgusting because it had no taste/flavor. I sat down at the table to wait and it was dirty. The fish market should expect their tables to look the same way they make their fish..greasy! They were not busy when I walked in and had plenty of lay time to clean their tables and cook better fish.

Just had two delicious dinners tonight! Baked stuffed shrimp and baked stuffed haddock-yum! Oh, and fried scallops to share. Everything was delicious. The batter is tasty but not greasy or overwhelming. What a friendly and tasty gem in our neighborhood.

We love this great neighborhood fish market! Reminds me of the ones near my grandparents in Maine. The guys ate so friendly and accommodating and the finnan haddie (my childhood all time fave)is awesome! Our go to fish market next time we’re at our son’s in Milton. Love bringing it in my carryon back to SC. Thanks, Boys!! 👍🥰🐟

Yelp
Just bought frozen crabmeat from Adams Fish market today. The sell by date is 11/21! Seriously! Fresh seafood.

Yelp
Not happy about my experience with this place today. I decided I wanted some fried clams, and rather than go to two of the mainstays in the area, The Clam Box or Tony's Clam Shop, I figured I'd give this place a shot. So I go to their website and they have a large order of clams listed at $31.95, and I'm really in the mood for a big plate of clams so I say "what the heck" and order the large. When I arrive to pick up the order, there's a paper sign hanging by the register listing the prices for clams, and suddenly I find out the price I saw on the website was $8.00 dollars! less than what they were actually going to change me, $40.00. Since I have a sense of honor, and didn't want to just walk out without paying for my order, I paid for my takeout and left. Once I got home and opened my order I could see that it in no way resembled what you would expect is $40 worth of clams, I Get clams all the time at The Clam Box and Tony's for prices much lower than this and the amount I was looking at simply didn't justify that ridiculous $40 bill. Now there are other seafood takeout restaurant out there (such as Fred's for example) that allow their prices for clams and scallops to fluctuate with the market. And ALL of them list "Market Price" in the price area of those items on their website. Fish & Chips might show a set price but clams and scallops have "Market Price". Other shops like The Clam Box and Tony's list a fixed price for their clams and scallops on their website, and they HONOR that listed price. Adam's Fish Market does neither of these things, and I can guarantee they will never be seeing another order from me.

Yelp
I highly recommend Adams Fish Market. The guys are friendly and helpful. The fish is always fresh and reasonably priced. By all means, support this local small business

Yelp
We were in the area passing thru while visiting Dorchester and saw that this place had good reviews. The interior was sparse, and definitely looked like the traditional hole in the wall with the potential for great food. We were not disappointed! The hot lobster roll was packed with meat and perfectly seasoned, and also came with a side of fries and coleslaw all for $22! Skip the expensive places and come here for a local affordable treat.

Yelp
Went there with my son. Cooks were arguing literally the whole time we we there for lunch. Food was decent but presentation was terrible! Fisherman platter looked like a kids portion but was ok. I'll never go to a place again where my 6 year old is present and every other word was "fuck you". Very unprofessional.

Yelp
I wish I found this place sooner! Really fresh seafood and the fried fish is seasoned perfectly. Decent pricing and family establishment. Support them! You won't regret it.

Yelp
I got a Lobster Roll and a clam chowder. Great fresh ingredients, affordable, and delicious!

Yelp
I stopped by to pick up a couple lobster rolls for lunch to go and had to purchase a few pieces of fish as they had a great selection and good prices. The fish is cut right on site and they have many local varieties such as bluefish and monkfish which were fresh and delicious. The Lobster roll is a great value and tastes like summer in a bun!

Siobhan K.

Yelp
I had my first lobster roll ever. So I was excited. I researched reviews and prices nearby. Adams was fair priced website listed $18. I was charged $24 and when I questioned he said fine print bottom website. This to me felt dishonest and sneaky. So I will not be back. fries soggy not cooked enough.

Yelp
I c them deliver to The Blarney Stone where I always get seafood. I have not been to their store but I know I'm eating their fish. It is fresh, sweet, and great tasting. Their calamari and haddock is exceptional.

Victoria C.

Yelp
Best place in Dorchester to get fresh lobster rolls. Our guests are always so impressed by them.

Yelp
My boyfriend came in and bought scrod and swordfish last weekend. We loved the fish. Good selection too. If you want tuna on the weekends, call one day ahead to order it. Nice workers here too. Very helpful! We will return.

Yelp
Great little fish market in the heart of Dorchester. The place looks dated and little pricey but if you don't care then you will enjoy it.

Yelp
First time here and it was really good. Ordered a seafood platter. The seafood was very fresh, portion size was decent for 1 person. The quality was great though! Little clams, big scallops the way it should be. The places that give you the big clam bellies are ripping you off as they get those for a lot less than the small/medium sized clams which are more tender and sweeter. Also the fish was Haddock and not Scrod/cod. Again better quality. The price was very reasonable. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This place is awesome. I used to live in Mass & would get a lobster roll and a broiled dinner every friday. It was consistently delicious & much to my surprise, I could eat and even liked their cole slaw (I usually hate cole slaw). The prices were reasonable. The owners / employees were always very nice. How good is their lobster roll? Good enough to write this review two years after having moved!

Yelp
I remember eating here five times in the last 7 years. The first time was great, they deep fried my salmon and it was delicious. The 2nd time I ordered two steamed lobster, they were good coming in, but going out was another story. I had to stay home the whole day because of massive diarh**** it hurt and the pain lasted for the next few days. The 3rd time I ordered fried clams and it tasted okay if I could recall, but again their food gave me diarh**** but this time it didn't hurt coming out like the lobsters did. I'm guessing spoiled clams. The 4th time, a year later after the first lobster incident, I decided to give them another chance on the lobster. I ordered two more and it tasted great going in. I swear to god on my life, the same result like the first lobster incident. I was more disappointed in myself for being an idiot for ordering it again, but I was really craving lobster that day. I thought the first incident was just an accident because not every restaurant is perfect in their orders. I'm not sure if you guys ever had bad lobsters from a bad restaurant but it is not a good feeling the first day because of diarh**** and the pain last a few days after that too. The 5th time I ordered a fillet of salmon, raw, so I could cook it myself so my 1 year old nephew could eat it. Nothing bad happened and the salmon was actually really fresh and didn't have a bad odor. I asked for a certain type of salmon, but they gave me another type, that got me kinda upset. Overall, don't eat lobsters or fried clams from this place. I'm not sure if they boiled them in dirty water or whatever, but it was an awful three experiences. I really hope the 2 dudes who sold me those three orders eat their own food and this happens to them.

Yelp
Every now and then you walk back in to an old staple of place and you're wowed again. Today it was the fish and scallops. The food is so tasty and probably it brought in fresh daily. The price is great and the folks are friendly and know exactly what they are doing. Best seafood in Dorchester. I think I bought my first fish and chip there in 1980. Still just as good as that first trip.

Monica B.

Yelp
Bought takeout which included the Lobster roll which came w fries and slaw as well as a cup of clam chowder. The roll had plenty of meat, and not too much mayo. Chowder was ok, I prefer thick and creamy but this was not as delicious as I hoped it to be. Still a great place to grab food

Aileen H.

Yelp
We Come in every Friday evening for super fish and chips ! Always friendly fast and delicious!! Great job guys!!

Chris S.

Yelp
Great price and delicious food. What else do you want?! Also, the guys are friendly. I got the lobster roll and it was spot on. Not drowning in butter just fresh lobster w mayo on a toasted bun. $12 for a lobster roll w fries.

Yelp
I brought up this page to get the phone number for this place and I was surprised to see a 1 star review. That caused them to average out to a 3-star business and is yet another Yelp misrepresentation of a small local business. I've been here about 20-25 times for cooked food and have never been disappointed. The oil is always clean and the fish is always fresh. I've had the scallops, clams, and haddock mostly and have always enjoyed it. I wouldn't say that it's the best in the city but they do one hec of a good job and are an excellent value for the portions. The guys here are super nice too.

Mike S.

Yelp
My wife & I decided to give Adams Fish Market a rest. We've always gone there for cooked food. The fish fry family dinners are a good value but they need to step up their flavoring. The food is bland and the fries must be bargain brand frozen (we're recooked them at home to help the flavor & texture). I also get the broiled salmon sometimes. One week it would be okay the next week no flavor and in a water mush. I spoke to them about the cole slaw. They are aware it's not good. They are friendly enough there but I think they do a lot of business delivering fresh fish to other restaurants. Maybe that's what they're better at. Not consistent on the food.

Jessica D.

Yelp
I gotta say that if you have gotten sick from eating at this place your most likely allergic to seafood. I am a UMass Boston grad and have been to this place more times than I can count! The fish is always fresh and so are the adorable owners. Real mom and pop vibe because every time you go in you see the same faces. My favorite orders are the clam strips and fried calamari. The weekly specials are always really good too. I have bought their raw fish to bring home and cook and it always spectacular. They have large shrimp and seafood platters for parties that have always been a hit. All in all this place is tried and true. Don't believe me? Go see for yourself.

Yelp
I went last night and got fish and chips and clam strips and rice. Everything was very good and very fresh

Tom H.

Yelp
I am not one to eat fish, but this place is hands down a winner!
