Best Restaurants in King’s Cross | Where to Eat at King’s Cross Station | Eater London

"Addis, resident for 19 years on Caledonian Road, is more self-consciously transportive than near neighbour Merkato, with a slightly greater focus on meat dishes rewarded with tibs, lamb, chillis and onions blasted with heat until fused; kitfo prepared three ways — raw, medium, or well done for cowards — and a neat example of seneg kariya, chilli peppers as long as fingers stuffed with onions and peppers and blistered till ready to prise open." - James Hansen

Following a recommendation, this was the first time I'd had Ethiopian food and it was delicious. I had the Beyeynetu veggie mix for one and I was very full and happy at the end 🙂 I also enjoyed talking to Azeb about her time in Ethiopia and found her to be a lovely person. Excellent home cooked food

The food was absolutely incredible! I love that Ethiopian food is naturally vegan (by simply not adding meat), and this place was really delicious! As no one has shared, they do have a 5* food hygiene rating!! The restaurant is a little confusing to get to, you need to go through Nags Head market at turn left when you get to the back! We got the Vegetable Samosas and veggie mix plate for 2 (between 4 of us) and the coffee ceremony. It was more than enough food for us and so delicious! Huge portion and very affordable - bill came to £39 including drinks! Greta place for food! Bonus if you are vegan or trying to reduce meat because everything is naturally vegan and Gluten-Free!

Amazing in every way! The people working there were incredibly friendly and accommodating. One person in the party hadn’t had Ethiopian food before, and was gluten free. They ran to a nearby shop to get gluten free ingredients, and spent time walking through and explaining all the dishes. Ok top of their hospitality, the food was AMAZING!!! I can’t recommend Addis Alem enough :)

Loved the vegan platter for two. 🌿 Fills your heart and your stomach. The lady makes it and serves it with so much love. 🥰 The flavours are amazing and the ambiance is very uplifting. Wash your hands and tuck into injira as it takes you on a flavour journey. Upstairs seating is also available with cocktails and beers.

Best vegan food in London! The sharing platter for 2 has all the best things from the menu, and portions are very generous. The staff are so lovely. I'll be back again soon

My favourite of favourites! Fresh, great prices, tasty, well presented……consistent food. Since I discovered this super little place I have been totally addicted. Be prepared for a wonderful foodie experience. Staff friendly and venue clean & inviting. Highly recommend!! You will be full ( very generous portions ) and you will be happy. ( took photo after I had taken portion out) Non - veggies will love this place too!!

Really tasty traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean vegetarian food. The owner was very friendly to us and so was the staff too. I had a really lovely experience and Despite the dishes being vegetarian, I feel like this was the best Ethiopian food I have had in London. The magical combination of flavours are still in my mind! 5 stars, will definitely will dine again!!

This is the best Ethiopian food I've ever had! The dishes are full of flavour with generous portions. The Beyaynetu veggie mix is my go to. It's a hidden gem on the ground floor of Nags Head market. Azeb makes everything from scratch, it's like eating a homecooked meal. Can't recommend it enough!
