I've probably had 30-40 sandwiches here at this point, the service is great and the specials are always worth giving a try. It's not going to be the cheapest lunch you've ever eaten, but sometimes having a sandwich that can border on transcendent might be worth a buck or two. Order ahead online, try the soup, eat it in the sunshine.

I really love this place. Like top sandwich shop in town my a pretty wide margin. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are all amazing. They use quality ingredients and have unique flavors and combos. The soup is great too. Super highly recommended. One of my favorite spots in Portland.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Classic deli/sandwich shop. They are one of the best sandwich shops in Portland! Power salads, fresh juices, and cookies are delicious. Highly recommend!

wow delicious! I stopped in first time and got a bit overwhelmed by the huge menu that I decided to come back another time. Glad I did. I really wanted a ham and gruyère baguette but they were sold out of ham. Instead I got a turkey, brie, cucumber and crème fraîche baguette and a cup of white bean soup. (gf) Both were very tasty. Then I noticed they have a paté sandwich, know I know what i’m coming back for! Bread and quality of ingredients is top notch, really nice. The lady on the cash register is super nice also. I wish I worked downtown more often!

Staff is very friendly and the service is fairly quick. I called in to place my order (you can't order online unfortunately). The place doesn't have seating that I saw of and it was pretty crowded. That said, their service is fairly quick. Their menu is huge and they have a wide variety of things to pick from. I got myself the soup of the day (carrot Ginger soup) and the power Salad. I found the food quite tasty. The Power Salad gives you some options to pick. Mine was chick pea salad + hard boiled egg + avocado + quinoa, kale and carrot on a vinaigrette dressing. Very sumptuous and nutritious. For the portion though, I found it a bit on the pricey side and hence one less star than 5.

I’m much happier giving my money to the suffering folks wandering the streets. I tried to question what the hell was going on but I got nowhere so I’ll just kvetch comfortably from my kitchen table

If you're gonna take up space in another person's neighborhood you need to be open long enough to provide people who actually live downtown full-time and gainful employment. Being open less than 25 hours a week is a joke. You are actively participating in the gentrification of one of the last safe neighborhoods for BIPOC Portlanders. Your branding is hypocritical and disgusting. Very few people of color patronize this business and it's for a reason. Progressive signs are hollow when they're in the window of a business that is pushing BIPOC out for their own benefit. Don't support gentrifiers if you want Portland to be a lively MULTICULTURAL community.

Addy’s is my favorite downtown work lunch spot. Friendly service, comes out quick. Honestly I’ve always walked right in and ordered the special salad. Can’t go wrong!

Consistently offering quality sandwiches! My coworkers and I come here twice a month to get something to go and we all agree; they don't make anything bad here. The baguettes and paninis are always using fresh ingredients and the salad can't be missed. Service is always friendly! Small space so I've never dined in but highly recommend ordering to go!

Addy's sandwich bar is a little different from a traditional sandwich deli offering baguettes and paninis with items like brie, creme fraiche, cranberry relish, and horseradish. I would not expect kids to enjoy this menu, lol. You can also get soup or salad options. A little pricey, but that seems expected downtown. $13 for the roast beef melt panini, but it was delicious. The horseradish is very strong with the gorgonzola and red onion - not for the faint of heart!

Service was good, person at the counter was friendly and helpful. I had the pesto chicken sandwich and it was meh - I thought it lacked flavor especially to be pesto, but it did at least seem fresh. The gluten free bread, which I often order. was also meh but I'm glad it was an option, Shop is small, we ate outside and had no trouble snagging a table even at lunch time.

I went here for lunch! I ordered the tuna sandwich and the green juice. The decor was really cool to see and they're seating outside and the weather makes it perfect to eat lunch outside. The food was really good and the green juice was very tasty. It did take a while for it to come out but override a really good sandwich place for a quick lunch.

there was no wait although it was pretty packed. You can sit outside on a good day. The food is extremely healthy. Everything was delicious. The prices were comparable to other places. The staff was friendly. I asked 1 million questions and they never got annoyed odd enough. There's a lot of parking in this area so don't let that discourage you from visiting

simple, easy, no frills spot. - Chicken pesto panini - I love how fresh & full of herbs the flavor is. - Tomato tapenade panini - also recommend this if you love tomatoes and mozzarella. - The highlight is definitely the bread!! It's so fresh, airy and crispy on top. I'd come back just to buy a loaf. You can also grab housemate sauces (green herb & tahini) which were delicious and paired well with the sandwiches.

Stopped in for a juice. Came back my last day for another juice and a sandwich for the airplane ride home. The first time I thought the juice had a little too much ginger so I asked for a little less the second time. Both were great though. How I contained myself not to eat the sandwich until the plane was questionable. I got the chicken salad with grapes and walnuts on a baguette. It was incredible. I would order it again. Next time I would request they cut it in half. Love this place. Will eat here again if I return to Portland.

There is a reason that this place is so busy! I found out from an app called to good to go there goal is to keep food waste to a minimum. It's also a great app to find new places. So I ordered a surprise bag - which can contain anything and such. In my case I had a pesto melt sandwich with some tomatoes and a side of red cabbage salad. In addition in ordered a breed smoothie. As said on first bite into the melted sandwich I knew why they are so busy. It's delicious the (unfortunate white) baguette was nice and crispy and the pesto with tomatoes just deliciously fresh! The side salad have it a good crispy component. They offer extra sauces and the green sauce which is made out of arugula and Romain lettuce is so good. And it can not only be used to dip your sandwich but can really give a fresh touch to all dishes. Yumm! The smoothie was just that berry and smooth. Wish it would have been colder since it was a hot day lol but it was good. I me too es the baguette is white flour but they also make their own pita which is a wheat pita. I'll have to try that next time. A great sandwich (daily changing soups and salad shop as well) in the city. Try it you will get a regular customer!

I'd been wanting to try Addie's for some time now and finally got the chance and it was more than I expected. The sandwiches are fresh and tasty, and so are the soups. Amazing. Also try a smoothie and you'll be happy you did.

The food, of course, is the best part. Every sandwich is no small skinny piece that they serve but a nice hearty full and worth every dollar piece of deliciousness. The surf is great. Here in the ambient is pleasing as well and it's just a place you can come to sit down and eat and enjoy yourself on your lunch break, the weekend, anytime, really. I highly recommend coming here and supporting this local business it's small but quaint.

I love when I can give a five star review that is so strong due to pretty much perfection. Addys unequivocally 100% deserves 5 stars!. They have an excellent thing going on here and all aspects of the business are very impressive. The service, the staff, the amazingly gourmet fresh tasty food. I got the spinach pesto chicken salad with cucumber in a pita as well as the ginger elixir drink and both were very yummy. I don't live in Portland but do come annually for business, so I'll look forward to returning again next year!

I'm on the hunt for the best "cheese pulls" in the city. (If you know of one, message me.) On this search I stopped by Addy's Sandwich Bar figuring their paninis might fit the ticket. The Google Maps directions are slightly incorrect but I found their store along 10th Ave. It was around 2pm and they were out of baguettes, so heads up that this is a popular breakfast and lunch spot. I asked the staff which sandwiches might be the best fit for a cheese pull and they kindly let me know there's an off-menu grilled cheese. So I got that and the tomato tapenade panini. Neither ended up being an amazing cheese pull but they were decently tasty! Two types of cheese in the grilled cheese, which did make it little greasy, thick bread, but not toasted the way I usually expect a panini to be, good flavor in the tapenade.

The sandwich was okay but nothing to write home about. I got the Chicken Pesto panini and there was a lot of pesto on it, but it tasted like they forgot to add the basil; very bland. Pretty expensive for a mid sandwich.

The turkey brie cranberry panini was to die for! Yummy. I'm from Michigan, so can't be a regular, but I would be if I could!

Came for lunch and tried their chicken pesto panini. After walking in the rain it hit the spot to have something warm. It's a small space so be mindful you may not get a spot to sit inside. They do have tables outside but that's limited as well.

Fun staff. Quick service. Great panini tuna melt with Gruyère cheese. The bread was gently toasted and wonderfully soft inside. The tuna was good: right amount of onions/mayo/etc. The corn chowder had a bit of heat to it, with copious amounts of corn, and a good portion size. Overall, a great value for lunch. We are looking forward to coming back for more soup and sandwiches. The salad options looked yummy, but we didn't go there yet.

Wow, the pesto chicken melt was solid! Filled with deliciousness and it was not messy. Reasonable prices. Stumbled upon this place during my business trip while grabbing coffee nearby. Saw a massive crowd around the shop around noon and was deterred from attempting to grab lunch there. So glad I remembered the name the next day and found their website because I preordered by 11am and choose a time to pick up. Came in the store at the chosen time and did not have to wait.

Addy's is my new favorite lunch go-to. They have limited hours, no indoor seating but they have a delicious menu! Panini's, pitas, soups, salads, fresh juices and smoothies - what more could you want for a quick lunch? They have an online ordering option, but I like to go in first to see what the deli salad specials are. My favorite thing to get is the "Power Salad" - a serving of deli salad, a serving of protein salad with a hard boiled egg, half an avocado and sunflower seeds. Super light and refreshing on a hot day. Service is always super quick and friendly

Addy's never disappoints (unless they sell out of something popular). We've been eating Addy's since they were a food cart. Super delicious food! It's lunch done right! Healthy, filling, tasty, and honest. Like it always has done.

absolutely nothing special, very small sandwiches with very little filling. seems like most customers are first time customers originally 3 stars but changed it to one because i'm still hungry and the taste in my mouth is horrible lol.

Very impressive and adorable sandwich spot with sidewalk seating, nice service, cute,quaint cafe atmosphere and amazing food. The menu is a sublime gourmet offering with uniquely inspired sandwiches, salads and drinks and I'm so glad I was out enjoying a walk and happened upon it! I had the chicken pesto with cucumber and it was literally one of the best sandwiches I've had and the ginger elixir drink was the perfect compliment. Looking forward to getting back here next time I'm in Portland. Highly recommend!

Had the tuna melt and corn and crab soup. Both were fine but neither were extraordinary. I think tuna melts work much better with something like rye as opposed to the roll mine came on. The corn and crab soup wasn't bad but it was kind of thin and I was really expecting some sort of chowder. If you work nearby though, this is a solid lunch option.

Super fast and straightforward service. You can order online and they'll get your goodies ready within 15 mins (or less!). I love the novel options like Duck Confit and Turkey with Brie and Creme Fraiche. Also a fan of the 1/2 sandwich option that lets you sample different offerings. A great, quick lunch option!

I've never had a bad sandwich from Addy's, I love the turkey with cranberry, and they always have something new and exciting is a special to try. Their sides salads are tasty and fresh, the staff is always friendly and service is so quick and efficient. Anytime I'm in the area I plan on this being my go-to lunch spot. Highly recommend.

I've been coming to Addy's since it was a food truck back in the day. My go-go is the roasted turkey, brie and cucumber on a baguette. Plus a cup of whatever hot soup they have for the day. Delish! Their bread is from my favorite bakery in town (Little T). Friendly service, great food. What else matters in life?

Amazing food and amazing people! My daughters had the turkey baguette and I grabbed the roast beef. Everything down to their choice of condiments was top-notch. Very friendly staff, who even gave us some free cookies when I started whining about my horrible day lol. Definitely give this place a chance if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed!

We recently went to the popup in the Wells Fargo building. What a delight. The prosciutto sandwich was perfect and the tomato coconut bisque, outstanding. We plan to go back for the happy hour.

Great great selection of sandwiches! I had the chicken salad (with pistachios and cranberry) sandwich and asked them to put it on a baguette with mustard...it was so delicious and creamy that I could not get enough of it with the crunch of the baguette it had an umami quality to it! Can't wait to try more!

ADDY's is rude and provides lousy service. I submitted our order at 11:30 and they served at least a dozen other customers while I've been waiting. Finally received our food at noon. The dude behind the counter expresses no apology or remorse. I told the dude I regret giving them a good tip. He says they don't expect tips. Duly noted!

Have a pop up in my building and so happy about it. Had a sandwich yesterday for the first time and it did not disappoint. The staff was very nice and busy making great sandwiches, highly recommend.

My partner brought me home a sandwich from Addy's today and it was the best sandwich I've ever had. We had been talking about Addy's since we moved downtown because we liked their C.L.A.W.S sign. To preface, I'm a simple vegetarian, so obviously sandwiches with loads of meat are not my thing. When I hear sandwich shop, I usually think of layers of deli meat. I told my partner to get me what he thought I'd like, so he comes home with a sandwich on a baguette. Score #1! I'd die for a baguette. I break the sandwich apart and inspect the innards to see a layer of pickles, cheese, and avocado-- all ingredients I love. Simple. Vegetarian. Then I took a bite: everything I've ever wanted in a sandwich. It was salty, soft, easy to chew, didn't cut the roof of my mouth, and also didn't give me heartburn after two bites. My partner ate something with meat in it and also enjoyed it but this review is for senseitive stomach people, picky eaters and vegetarians. Shoutout to the fam.

Randomly stopped in during a whirlwind family tour - stayed at the Duniway by Hilton Hotel and cruised down to the boutique Goodwill across the way (killer designer stuff at this place!) Anyways, we ordered a hot lemon ginger elixir - SO good, and I looooooved the decadent dark chocolate almond truffle they offered. Fam got a turkey and cheddar panini, a bowl of soup and everyone was really pleased. I really enjoyed the service we received from: Geneve (sorry if I butchered your name) she is so kind and patient with us out of Townes. That makes a HUGE difference in this ever growing jaded hipster city ;).

Thought I would give the duck confit a try. It's not often you get good duck confit. I walked away from the counter wondering how I just paid nine bucks for a sandwich. This has better be good. Oooh. It's still warm. A sandwich on a freshly baked baguette. I've been missing out on so much. The duck was good. It still had that kind of duck funkiness which was great. On the one hand it was nice for the duck to stand on its own but on the other hand I was hoping for more supporting cast. Thrashed the hell out of my mouth though like a bowl of Cap'n Crunch I might come back. The price seemed a little steep but I could definitely tell where it went.

Addy and staff are fun! We almost got lost in our GoT theories but I was starving. Came for a Chicken Salad sandwich and ended with a combo of Chicken and Tuna Salad atop of greens. Had a cup of Lentil soup, which was hearty. Needed a bit of salt, squeeze of lemon and some heat, which I did add. Also, had the Tuna Melt with Gruyere, which was hearty and divine. I mean, how can one go wrong with that combo. Overall, enjoyed the food and team! Healthy bites and light-hearted service is their winning combination.

Been eating here since they were a cart (no, neither this nor anything else will ever make me one of the cool kids, thank goddess!) and I love them so hard! Duck confit on baguette, chickpea for those veggie days, brie, so many super yummy sandwiches from such nice people. They've also outlasted many a ptown startup... praise Satan!

I can't recommend Addy's enough! Their menu is solid, with something for everyone - whether you're in the mood for a melty, cheesy sandwich off the grill, or a healthy but yummy and nourishing salad. Execution is super consistent and on point. They also have fun specials and items with interesting and unique flavor profiles. If the Paprikash soup is ever on the menu when you go -- it's a must try. The staff is friendly and efficient, which is a breath of fresh air and so impressive viewed in light of the (warranted) fatigue I've noticed in many in the service industry and other public facing jobs during these times.

I was on my way to work at the Portland Art Museum. We were stopped at a light on my way there, and I spotted Addy's Sandwich Bar. My Uber driver said it's a great place and that I should walk over there on my lunch break. Done and done. I've never seen a place before with my name in it! I was so excited for the lunch break. I ran/ speed walked there and took so many photos. I got there and the girl helping me was so sweet. I asked her if the turkey Panini was good, and she said that's one of the most commonly ordered sandwiches. I asked if adding avocado would be overkill on top of it already having brie. She said something that I completely agree with. She said: "I don't think adding avocado to anything is overkill." We were immediately best friends. Just kidding, but that is my anthem. I told her that my name is Addy and I was really excited to meet the girl behind the name. She said that Addy was there but that she doesn't like to make a big deal of who she is. A.k.a. she was standing right next to her and completely ignored me. I was disappointed because I wanted to meet another Addy and possibly take a photo with her outside! She wishes for her identity to be unknown but I knew! Since it was lunchtime, it was pretty busy in there and it's already a pretty small place. I hung out by the side while I waited for my sandwich. I only waited about five minutes. I got it to-go so I could head back to work. I bought a shirt for $18 and said "Addy's Sandwich Bar." I felt pretty good about that purchase. Prices are very reasonable. I believe I spent about $12 on my sandwich and elixir. It's located in the center of town, so you might get lucky and grab a parking space - but it may not be that easy. They have indoor and outdoor seating but limited space only. I also tried this amazing lemon, ginger tonic/elixir they had created. It was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed. Something hot but with no caffeine. I managed to snuggle my sandwich and my elixir into the art museum and ate them quietly at work. Overall, I highly recommend this place for all of its deliciousness and healthy appeal! Enjoy! I see you, Addy.....

I've wanted to visit Addy's Sandwich Bar for what seems like years, but it took me moving down the street to finally find the time. And now that I've been here a few times, it saddens me that I wasn't enjoying these damn fine soups, salads, and sandwiches earlier! Addy's is a teeny-tiny little storefront downtown that based on its hours (closed by 4 on weekdays, closed altogether on weekends) is clearly geared towards office workers. At least when the weather is nice, there's always a line, and it's definitely not fast. But what it is is fresh and delicious! I've enjoyed every bite I've had from Addy's and I'll have plenty more in the future. Sandwiches here are reliably good, though if you come later in the day you might have to sub out an ingredient or get it on a different kind of bread. I suppose this is because they're ordering conservatively, and I don't like food waste, so I'm ok with it. But it's something to consider if you're heading in after the lunch rush. They have three sandwich categories: paninis, pitas, and baguettes. I'm not a big pita guy, but the others are pretty dope. I'm here for the ham panini, as well as the pesto chicken. The ham and brie baguette is pretty outstanding as well. The other day I had a soup that may have changed my life. I forget the name of it, but it had chicken, paprika, sour cream and spaetzle. I'm telling you... it may have ruined me for other soups. The soups are always rotating, so I can't bank on having it again any time soon, but whomever it is that makes their soups is a pro. I really like this place, but it's hard to find seating when it's busy, and you might not get what you want once it's slowed down. Thankfully, they do carryout orders and deliver with one of those services. You should certainly find a way to try out Addy's Sandwiches. They're great.

No frills tuna salad salad, on point. Very tasty with a good amount of fresh Romaine lettuce. I added feta to mine... Would definitely order again.

Live the selection of sandwiches but the baguette they use for the sandwich is so chewy it's almost um chewable as a Sandwich without really hurting your jaw. I had to make it open face so I could possibly chew through it. Wish they had options for different kind of bread. It's just my preference I'm sure people might love having to knaw through a baguette. But I won't be back.

For our day trip to Cannon Beach, we wanted something that we could just grab and go. We yelped a few different places and opted for Addy's Sandwich Bar; Yelp did not disappoint. Parking is what it is in downtown Portland, however, we were lucky and found a spot right around the corner. The café was small and cute with limited seating. Looking at the menu board in front of us, we decided to order the Pesto Chicken Panini, Country Pate Baguette and after scanning the counter full of various sides and bottled beverages, we added a small order of the kale salad. Although we ate our lunch over 2 hours later, the sandwiches and the kale salad were delicious. Rather than using too much sauce or seasoning, the people at Addy's Sandwich Bar really let the quality of their ingredients shine through. If we lived in Portland, this would definitely be in our rotation of casual lunch spots. - TRA
