The Best Things to Do in Seoul, South Korea's Layered Capital | Condé Nast Traveler

"At Ader Error’s Seongsu flagship I saw edgy streetwear presented in a futuristic, gallery-like setting that suits the brand’s experimental aesthetic." - Katie Chang

Interesting installations expanding the retail experience. They let in a set amount of customers at a time to avoid crowding

Hello C.

Google
The store is super empty with not even a single person inside so we entered in a normal way and the rude doorman literally kicked us out and forced to wait in a non-existent queue outside. Then after 10min he let us into an empty store :) This is not a way to do it, get lost with these fake luxury marketing techniques, because people are not idiots. Imagine the willingness to buy anything from a retailer treating a customer like this.

A place that incorporates many artsy and futuristic concepts. It’s more like a museum than a retail store. Staff display professional attitude and visitors are welcomed warmly. Their service is highly appreciated.

Extremely trying and frustrating experience. I asked to try on ‘design 1’ in size L. After waiting for 10 minutes I asked sales rep A and he told me that they were preparing the design that I asked for. After another 10-15 minutes I could not find sales rep A, so I approached sales rep B, who the told me that ‘design 1’ is sold out (seems like sales rep A decided to go on a break without informing me). I tried on ‘design 2’ in black. When I asked to purchase it, I was informed by sales rep C that size L in black was sold out. So I asked to try on the same design in white. After trying it on, I wanted to purchase it and was informed that size L in white is sold out too. Spent more than an hour in the store - probably 30-40 minutes were spent waiting for the pieces to be ready for me to try on.

Rude doorman, completely empty store but still forces line ups to build a facade of artificial popularity. These brands would not survive without the false notion of rarity and popularity. Clothes have been declining in quality over the years with an expired one-dimensional aesthetic. Check out emerging brands near by such as Youth instead. Go anywhere else in seongsu, don’t waste your time

TLDR: service is hit or miss depending on the sales rep. To the friendly guy downstairs who helped me with a bag, thank you! He explained how certain design elements of the bag ties into the brand ethos. He is a very good brand ambassador. Sales rep at check-out was pleasant. Now the bad part…complete 180 degree experience upstairs. I was trying on a pair of jeans and I stepped on a patch of the carpet inside the fitting room that was SOAKING WET. You’re not allowed to bring drinks into the store so how did that happen...I mention this to her but I could tell she didn’t care. I didn’t want another person to suffer the same fate. She said I could wear my shoes inside the fitting room and closed the fitting room door for the next victim to step in it 🫠.

You must make a reservation at the door to enter, but if you are a foreigner and don't have a Korean phone number, just tell the staff at the door that she will give you a handwritten number with the entrance time. The store is unique with an outer space concept. All of the staff we met were polite.

It’s the worst experience since I start buying this brand. Also the first time me and my friends need to wait for 30mins and still no one help us to get the right size of clothing we like After we chased a few times, one of the staff finally grab the clothes (which actually takes them 5mins) BUT she put into the dressing room and brought another customer for fitting (customer was lost as well) We complained again and the staff told us to continue to wait (already 35mjns since we asked for another size) We refused and asked for apologies but they asked us whether we still want to fit as the confused customer came out. She handed us the clothes from that customer directly… Most ridiculous thing is that a 3rd staff came and apologies and asked us what happened as she just finished her break… (the related 2 staff left without apologies) She told us there’s a lot of staff quiet and apologies on the misunderstanding and slowness as they are new… (should customers then ask for whether there’s a lot of new staff before they shop now?) It’s really the worst experience in Ader Error EVER!
