Stopped in tonight for dinner during Americade. Yes, it was a little busy, but Americade happens the same week year after year. I asked if the prime rib was available before I ordered it and I was told it absolutely was. When it came out, the wrong two sides were with the rib. I was told that it looked like someone else got my dinner and they got mine. After that, my server said it would be a few minutes as a new piece of prime rib had to be cut. My wife's dinner was served. When a new prime rib dinner arrived I was told that the vegetable of the day was changed and table staff was not notified. Had I known that there were changes to the menu, I likely would have made a completely different choice. To avoid further delay I accepted the vegetable that was substituted. The prime rib was anything but medium rare as ordered. It was well done instead. That's not how prime rib is done and CERTAINLY not how I ordered it. The server took it back. A different and slightly less done piece arrived. It wasn't medium rare either, but I said I'd give it a try. Not only far from medium rare, but cold. The potatoes were cold too. The only hot food on the plate was the substituted vegetable, which had no flavor and seemed to have been dumped from a can. Our server, Brandi, was struggling to make up for incompetent kitchen staff, but she was extremely responsive and eager to help. I simply tried one bite of dinner and gave up. My wife's dinner was anything but great, but she was really hungry and tried to eat her poorly prepared meal. She felt awkward eating while the pub's every attempt at making my dinner just got worse and worse results. She barely ate any of her meal, and did NOT want the leftovers boxed up to take with us. Brandi sent the manager (Ben) over. He apologized. I politely and throughly explained the poor attempts by the kitchen staff to make this resemble a prime rib dinner. Ben was aware that my dinner wasn't eaten at all and my wife's dinner was barely eaten. He offered us dessert and drinks to make up for the horrible experience. We don't drink, and we couldn't eat dessert because we hadn't even come close to having dinner. My prime rib was removed from the bill and my wife's dinner was fully represented on the bill. The only thing removed from the bill was my dinner, which was completely untouched. While I hadn't suggested it, clearly removing my wife's dinner from the bill would have been an appropriate gesture, as there was no other way to make up for the incompetence of kitchen staff, which now cost us almost an hour of our lives and left us hungry. I paid the bill and tipped Brandi around 25% of what the bill would have been without any deductions. I rarely send food back. This was the worst prime rib I've ever seen, and possibly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
