5.17.25 For 2 adults, a $10 omelet and the hangar breakfast, with 2 coffees plus tip, was $40. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Parking was easy. No wait to get served. Sounds like this is a local fave. We're visiting in the area so we checked it out.

If you’re thinking of giving this place a try, check it out! Even if there’s a little bit of a wait it is completely WORTH IT!!! You absolutely won’t be disappointed, in fact you’ll become a regular before you know it! It’s located in the airport but it’s open to the public and you don’t need a flight to eat there! Plenty of parking and you get to watch the planes take off while you eat! This place is fantastic, 10/10 breakfast! Omelettes eggs and toast are good, have also heard “The Hanger” breakfast is pretty good! They use the best and freshest meats and ingredients. I’ve also been for lunch and they have lots of great lunch options! The portions are very decent, the prices are reasonable, and the food quality is outstanding. Their staff is super friendly and attentive! There is something for everyone on their menu, both breakfast and lunch!

Fantastic breakfast sandwiches. Huge portions and fresh ingredients. Very inexpensive. Service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. And you can't beat the Adirondack view and watching the airplanes as you dine. We will be back every time we're near Lake Clear.

My go to place whenever in the Saranac Lake lake area, breakfast, yummy and lunch as well. And you get to watch the planes land and you might even see Chinese billionaire Jack Ma, who has 28,000+ acres of land in the Adirondacks, Santa Clara region, and borders many miles of the St. Regis River.

Great little place that all the locals go to. Very popular at peak times to expect to wait for a table , but there is loads of free parking , and it’s easy to get to . You don’t need to go to the airport , and it’s open to the public .. The food was great , and really good value too . Recommended !

The CAVU Cafe is the best there is.period. From breakfast to lunch you cannot go wrong. The chefs recipes and homemade items like breakfast sausage are exceptional. The kids love seeing the planes coming and going at the airport too.

Amazing brunch!!! The apple stuffed French toast was so delicious, highly recommend! The Signature omelette was hearty and good. My husband also really like the breakfast sandwich. Coffee hit the spot! Fun to dine with a view of the Saranac Lake airport. Looking forward to visiting again!

Great service and food at the airport. It’s worth coming 40 minutes early before your flight. It’s also just worth coming to period!

This review is for ADK Cavu Cafe. This small basic diner is surprisingly excellent ! We selected this diner based on reviews and it did not disappoint. Despite having only 9 tables (which can result in a short wait) in a small space and a small menu, the menu options were all very appealing. The food is prepared very well with very good and fresh ingredients. The cooking area is small with a small staff but they were attentive just not fast. But we had no problem with the overall service given the quality of the food. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. I know we'll be back.

This was such an unexpected treat! Walking around Lake Placid, we bumped into a couple who wound up suggesting a couple of restaurants for us to check out. Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.

Adorable little, local cafe located in the SLK airport. All staff are welcoming and the place is always packed on the weekends. It is very reasonably priced. I recommend "the lineman" which has the most delicious biscuits with sausage gravy.

Arrived here for breakfast. However, to my surprise, they cut off breakfast hours at 10:30 and hours we're serving lunch. It was quite a disappointment. Did order something for lunch and the food was pretty decent. Fries were great! Probably would not return. Serving staff seemed like they were going out of their way to take care of us. Seemed like the serving staff had a little attitude for "out of towners "... May have just been a false perception a perception nonetheless. Couldn't get a second cup of coffee to save my life. The atmosphere is comfortable despite the wait staff.

This place is special. We went two days in a row because the food is that good. Everything was absolutely delicious! My husband had the Hangar plate both days and I had the Corned Beef Hash with an English muffin & maple cream (highly recommend!). The dining area is pretty small so on a weekend, you're definitely going to wait but then you get to explore the airport and watch the planes. We can't wait to go back!

Location alone is spectacular. It's so much fun eating breakfast and watching planes take off. The food is always delicious as well! The service is always positive and efficient. And the owners are widely loved by all in the community. Not only have they always treated us with love and sincerity, but we have witnessed so many members of the community giving back to them. It's a truly special place!!

This place has a great breakfast. It's fairly small but they do a good job with clearing and cleaning the tables to get folks seated. I had the apple stuffed french toast and it was great as it was stuff with FRESH thinly sliced apples and a just sweet enough cream cheese filling vs other places that seems to use pie filling. My boyfriend had their kielbasa skillet which was inhaled and thoroughly enjoyed by him. The service was overall was great!

We love unique, small restaurants and this one is wonderful. We wanted breakfast but got there after 11am. We had lunch instead. Soup, Sandwich and Fries were delicious. Can't wait to go back for breakfast. We enjoyed watching some aircraft take off and land.

Such a cute little place for breakfast. It is right at the airport so we got to watch planes land and take off during our meal. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious!

This is a must visit if you're in the area and have a hankering for a delicious breakfast. My fiancé ordered the Steak and Eggs and substituted her toast for the English muffins with maple cream and Holy moly everything was exceptional, especially those English muffins! I ordered the corn beef hash with eggs and sourdough toast.... I have never had corn beef hash quite like there's. Incredibly moist and packed full of flavor! Love love love this place and will from now on be a must visit!

Josh and Clair do a phenomenal job and turn out great food and service. For breakfast I'd the Hash & Eggs. For lunch I'd recommend wings and/or a burger. The wings and Blue Cheese dressing are amazing. Best wings in the area (IMO), and would stand up to most wing joints in Buffalo, NY. Great juicy burgers.

Cavu is tucked away from main stream saranac lake and is at the airport in Lake Clear. One of the best burgers in the ADK which is saying a lot! They are now using wagyu beef from Bravo 39 outstanding meat a must try!! Lots of food and fair pricing small venue so you might need to wait but we'll worth it!

I feel so embarrassed owning a camp 20 minutes away for 15 years and just discovering this amazing gem! The greeting and amazing service from the staff was so welcoming and the food was incredible. You can enjoy the activities of the small airport while waiting for your table. I highly recommend giving this wonderful family owned and operated spot a try!

Literally the best airport cafe in existence. Reasonable prices and a good portions. More of a bistro than a diner - CAVU is a hidden gem in the Adirondacks. Do yourself a favor and order the siracha fried pickles with wasabi ranch. Oh and the owners, Clair and Josh, are fantastic people.

Great diner! Price is pretty good. Service is descent. Food we had no complaints! Definitely would head back! Nice little spot by the airport with a view of the runway. As you walk near the front door I had an amazing whiff of some good food.

Stopped here before our long drive back to Philadelphia. Everyone was so friendly and the food was exactly what we wanted- hearty, delicious, and unpretentious. It was also fun to watch the plane take off. Have found a new favorite breakfast spot :)

Awesome hidden gem at the Lake Clear Airport. This diner is a hit, busy both times I've been with a wait at the door. Only 7 or so tables so patience is a virtue here. A nice local selection of beers, good mimosas and made to order food. Hot roast beef was delicious. Very cool to watch the planes landing and taking off while enjoying a beer and company

Great ambiance. Friendly accommodating staff. We both had the signature omelette and it was chock full of veggies, no skimping here. Bacon was cooked to perfect crispness. Just delightful. Worth the trip out of town and Highly recommended for a hearty ADK breakfast.

The food was amazing great portions at a reasonable price. Wait staff was very friendly. The location is so cool, right at the airport and mountains in the background. I had breakfast. I saw some lunch items coming out and they also looked delicious!

I was a bit hesitant when I saw the cafe was in the small airport but after seeing some great reviews decided to give it a try. Do not let the location give you any second thoughts. The food and the service were outstanding. I had the corned beef hash. It was some of the best I have had. Real quality corned beef with perfectly cooked potatoes, peppers and onions. The eggs were cooked perfectly and even the coffee was great. My wife had the beef brisket eggs benedict special and that was just as good. The staff, while extremely busy, did a great job of making it a great breakfast as we prepared to head home. I know next time we are in the area we will be back.

I've never had a bad meal here and the staff is pleasant. And the now have alcohol! I've had breakfast hear in the past, but today I swung in for lunch for the blk bean burger. It looks wonderful and enjoying the view.

Food was okay, wait staff not so much! It was busy and we were patient to wait for a table. It took forever to get coffee after we sat down. Then to get refills. When our food cane there was no butter on my French toast so I asked for some right away. Never got it. The waiter never came back to even see if it was good. I needed more syrup but again, nothing. I ordered a side of home fries and received a very very small portion. We used to love coming here with my in-laws. We will not be back! Mainly because as I'm writing this review, the owner asked why, when I proceeded to answer her she got defensive and loud in the restaurant. Blamed it on winter carnival. Winter carnival is the same every year! Wouldn't you think you'd have more than 1 person waiting on tables! The waiter seemed very new. If this is a busy weekend for you...then you need to prepare for it!

We were so pleased to find this cafe! We had breakfast there and the food was excellent, the service was friendly, the cafe was clean and comfortable, and the setting was beautiful and unique with the mountains as a backdrop to an airport. I had the french toast filled with apples and caramel cream cheese; the french toast was excellently prepared, the apples were fresh and thinly sliced, and the sauce was delicious. My daughter has Belgian waffles which she said were the best she's ever had...they were thick and had a perfect texture. Both dishes were served with real maple syrup. We were just passing through but I hope to go back someday.

Excellent breakfast spot. Unique location. Located in ADK Regional Airport. Amazing view and fun watching small planes land and takeoff during meal. I am always looking for new breakfast spots while traveling and saw a few of the other reviews on Yelp. They're correct! Awesome breakfast spot! I chose the CAVU Hash. R"A bed of rough chopped/cubed corned beef hashed, peppers & onions and home fries with eggs on top with bread, my choice is over easy with rye. It was great. Super fast friendly service, they accept Credit Cards and there's plenty of parking. It's away from Lake Placid and Saranac but worth the drive. Oh, and the staff are Buffalo Bills fans and for this guy that's a bonus;-)

This place is #dope and run by an amazing couple. Josh is the chef and will ensure your food is prepared precisely to your liking and has a varied assortment of daily breakfast and lunch specials. I heartily recommend the breakfast sandwiches and if you love bacon - order yours extra crispy. The fries are hand cut with generous helpings. Soups are all hand and and ACVU sources all of their produce locally. Claire is your hostess and enwures your orders are delivered piping hot. ACVU also has a license for wine, beer and champagne.

Got lost looking for this place but found it right in the airport, whoda thunk it! Nice variety on the menu, able to order breakfast and lunch because some people were just getting up at noon! Had the chicken parmesan sandwich perfectly done , crispy outside tender and juicy inside, with fresh cut fries with skins , exceptional! Can't speak for the other three in my party but they all left with bellies full and smiles on their faces

All I can say is Wow!!!! Food was amazing with a nice cozy atmosphere. Service was great!! Too bad I don't live local or I would be back every morning.

My favorite spot to grab brunch/lunch -a total gem! The food is always fresh and the service is fantastic -thank you ADK Cavu cafe we are so lucky to have a place like this in such a fun location -we can't wait to return.

I am never disappointed when I go to the Cavu cafe. The service is excellent and the couple who operate this establishment are super friendly. I live in Saranac Lake and take the extra time to go to Lake Clear just to eat here. We are lucky that we have several friends and family members that come to visit us throughout the year, and we usually make a stop at the Cavu cafe. No one has been disappointed. We have never been disappointed with the sausage and gravy, French toast, bagel sandwiches or macaroni and cheese.

The service was great. At one point the cook was doing everything on his own and the service was Still flowing. The food was amazing. The lineman (biscuits and gravy) was delicious. The cafe had a great view of the airport

So happy to report that the cafe at Adirondack Airport is back, but with much better service and delicious food. I had the crust less quiche with home fries and wheat toast - well done Claire and Josh. Hubby had a breakfast sandwich with sausage on an everything bagel and he kept saying how good it all was. So happy to see a good place for breakfast and lunch in the Lake Clear area!

Stopped by for lunch and saw the house Ruben on the daily special board. Ordered it and a cup of cheeseburger soup. Both were outstanding, you can tell the kitchen staff knows what they are doing. Service was prompt and friendly and prices are reasonable. Definitely worthy of the 5 star rating, will be stopping in again next time I'm in SLK.

We had breakfast twice this week and it was delicious both times. A young couple with a culinary background make this spot a perfect place for some homemade food. The quiche was so tasty and served with the best home fries I've ever tasted. It's so easy to tell the difference of food made from scratch or out of a box. We had the sausage, gravy biscuits that had amazing flavor and great rich coffee. Good luck- love the place.
