The 10 Best Hotels in the Dolomites to Book Now - AFAR

"Opened in 2019 by a multigenerational local family and perched high above Bolzano, this modern alpine retreat is reachable by cable car and provides guests with a transit card for local travel. Inspired in part by safari lodges, standalone A-frame chalets and wood-centric interiors feature private saunas, wood-burning stoves and large terraces. Half-board rates commonly include breakfast, dinner, spa access and a wide activities program—guided hikes and bike tours, sledding and snowshoeing, llama treks and wine tastings." - Laura Itzkowitz, Erica Firpo

A small misunderstanding on our first night was quickly resolved and made up for, and we were treated to an outstanding stay. This is a stunning property, surrounded by tranquil nature and offering stunning vistas over The Dolomites. The spa, pool and accommodation are all great, but what really sets this lodge apart from similar 5-star properties are the incredible staff and delicious, healthy food. Our only problem with the stay? Too short. Can't wait to return.

There are some places that exceed the hype and this is one of them! A truly amazing experience in a tranquil pine forest retreat with outstanding heated pool and enhanced by the amazing food and hospitality.||Things that surprise me in a very positive way:|- the food was outstanding! Besides the gourmet style daily dinner the lunch was surprisingly also amazing. In some occasions I even enjoyed more the lunch to the dinner as the food was more authentic in a more laid down vibe. The grill lunch was one of those days! Just perfection! Klaus knows what he is doing (just a pity he cannot speak English! Maybe another member of the staff should join him).|- Wine and cocktails. I must say all the complementary coktails were very impressive both in authenticity and flavour! The wine list is also high standards. |- the pool. Not only it is beautiful and pristine clean but the water is at perfect warm temperature and the size big enough for proper swimming! Impressive!|- tranquility of the grounds mainly in the sauna areas.|- top notch quality of the complimentary electric bikes.|- staff polite and pro active. I would like to highlight the professionalism of Lorenza, Alexandre and Christian.||Now some negatives aspects that can be improved:|- ants in the balcony decks; they should use ant repellent in those areas, including the rooftop lunch area and in the outdoor pool lounge areas.|- I would add essential oil burners in the relax rooms;|- gym needs urgently more diversity of machines and more heavy weights to be a proper gym as this place deserves. They could also have more gym classes.|- sauna events should be everyday and more lively as in others Sudtirol resorts. Didn't appreciate the way the fruit was transported and displayed at the sauna areas with melting papers on top.|- the administration should consider to add a second small pool or whirlpool in the fields or maybe in the forest near the saunas for a more intimate water spot.|- there seems not to be an AC to cool down the room if one wants.|- could be any activity after dinner and more lively music events would be appreciated! The young trio we experienced was very good!

Just returned from a 4-night stay at this lodge. It was overall pleasant with a few things amiss.||First the good:|- The view from the lodge is absolutely gorgeous, a perfectly serene place to relax and we were blissfully happy sitting on the deck (we booked a jr chalet) doing nothing and just letting our eyes drink the view in.|- The food is so wonderful!! I was especially impressed by dinner, each night they had a different 4-course menu (always with two options for each course except the dessert), as well as a couple fixed menus, and we could order from whichever menu and mix/match as we wished (and everything was included in the stay). The dishes were all creative and delicious and we almost always tried to order one of everything, this was definitely a highlight of my stay and something I looked forward to each night. The servers were always attentive to our needs and good with remembering our preferences, which is an added plus.||Now the things I wished were different in our trip:|- There's no AC. At our request the staff brought a fan to our room which helped a little, but still, the room was quite hot and stuffy for the days we were there at noon and during the afternoon (high temperature were in the 30C's/80-90s F). Perhaps it's because the heatwave has made recent days an anomaly?|- Laundry service was broken for the first few days we were there, which was an inconvenience.|- On our checkout day I unfortunately woke up with a lower fever, we called the front desk asking if there might be any Tylenol/medication for fever, 20min later someone came to my room saying they'd send something in half an hour, but until we checked out (which was like 2 hours later) no one came. This was disappointing especially compared to other hotels of similar star-level/pricing that I had experienced in the past.

The moment you arrive, the property aesthetics make you feel relaxed & pampered. The chalets are nothing but spectacular (super comfortable bed and great amenities) and afford you the chance to enjoy nature. The food is amazing and the staff is super-attentive and engaging. It's clear they love where they work and they love taking care of their guests. The pool is indulgent and the views are spectacular. Loved that the local transportation (train, gondola) is included in the amenities. The e-bikes are a nice touch, too. Would definitely recommend and return!

Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and we liked very much the interior design. The food is delicious and regional and the wine selection is excellent. The Spa area is relaxing and the view is spectacular. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and welcoming!

We honeymooned here in early July and it was absolutely incredible! The views, room and pool are all wonderful, the food is fantastic and the staff were all helpful and friendly while still feeling discreet. We loved our stay and left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and pampered. We would recommend to anyone looking for a break in the mountains - it was perfect.
