11 Best Hotels in Tuscany, From the Coast to the Outskirts of Florence

"Bagno Vignoni The location: Bagno Vignoni, a hamlet in the province of Siena well-known for its dramatic hot springs, overlooking Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004 Top amenities: Thermal swimming pools, sauna, steam bath, holistic spa One of the most unique places to stay on this list, Hotel Adler Thermae makes use of its location on Tuscany's hot springs in the most delicious way possible—by providing a compound of thermal swimming pools, baths, and spas full of travertine grottoes, stalactites, and stalagmites, for guests to luxuriate in. Staying somewhere like this is one of those wish list travel experiences most people only dream about. The resort has plenty of other things going for it too, though: a glass-roofed restaurant, stellar wine list, and in-room terraces, to name a few." - Alex Erdekian

Adler Spa Resort Thermae | Best places to stay in Tuscany

"Among the many thermal spa resorts in Tuscany, ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE is one of the most appealing. Located in the heart of the Val d’Orcia – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – it offers a perfect balance of relaxation, comfort, and beautiful surroundings. The ambience is a stylish calm, with a design that blends in well with the Tuscan landscape. Food and wine play an important role in the experience. Guests can enjoy fresh, regional dishes at the main restaurant or opt for something more informal at the cosy Osteria dell’Amicizia. A wine tasting in the resort’s Travertine wine cellar is highly recommended for those wanting to explore local labels. The wellness area is impressive, with indoor and outdoor thermal pools heated naturally to 37°C, a panoramic whirlpool, and a range of saunas and steam baths inspired by ancient Roman traditions. The resort is the perfect base for visiting the lovely hill towns of Pienza, Montepulciano, and San Quirico d’Orcia. The famous wine region of Montalcino is nearby, and Siena is about 45 minutes away by car.   " - Nicky Swallow

This is a top notch resort with all the amenities you could ever want- the spa is incredible and the grounds are impeccable with the thermal water pools and saunas, and quiet spaces and amazing breakfast buffet and wonderful dinners with a lovely Osteria for lunch if you choose. Rooms are large and all have either a balcony or patio area. You can walk to Bagno Vignonithe tiny little village only minutes away, with a hot springs —soak your feet in,- it’s hot and soothing—and cute little places to grab a glass of wine. We rented the Fiat from the Adler and made a day of our own to Montepulciano and Pienza with a trip to have our own picnic. It was amazing. We also took a taxi and went to Montalcino - home of the Brunello wine and did a wine tasting that was incredible.

ADLER Spa Resort Thermae is exceptional. From the warm welcome to the first-class property, everything exceeded expectations. Meals were outstanding, and as someone gluten free, I appreciated the wide range of safe, clearly marked options.||The spa and thermal pool are incredible, and the 50km guided e-bike ride through the countryside was unforgettable. The daily sound bath was a unique highlight, and a rainy afternoon wine tasting and lunch turned into a cozy, memorable experience. Ask for Julia’s tour—you’ll come away with a whole new appreciation for organic winemaking.||Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by two extra days. Can’t wait to return.

There’s a lot going on here. Pool, spa, saunas, sound baths, walking trails, bike trails, wine tours you name it. Cute little towns and villages nearby. Friendly accommodating staff: some buffet options than can get busy. A few pesty flies around the pool and gardens. Overall a great experience. You will need a least 4 days to take it all in. The rooms are great, stylish, and comfortable. We are happy that the reception changed our initial room (20X) facing the pools, to another room (40X) facing the countryside. This is consistent with what the confirmation we had promised.||Service is very good, same as the facilities: pools, gardens, communal areas, food, electric car charging, garage, … all to the highest standard.||The only thing which could be improved is the dining experience. Our impression was that the time window when you could dine was far too narrow. As a result, the dining area was always densely packed. We think the property would benefit from a larger dining area or broader dining times. ||The fact that guests were asked to keep the same table for the whole length of their stay was inappropriate, in our opinion, and more in keeping with lower quality accommodations. Having said that, the personnel was helpful and accommodated our desire to change tables every night.

Our stay at Adler Spa Resort was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully designed to create an unforgettable experience for both parents and kids.||One of the true highlights was the Kids Club, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.—and yes, it’s included! Our children had an absolute blast the entire time, giving my partner and me the rare chance to truly relax and enjoy time together. It felt like a true vacation for everyone.||We absolutely loved everything about the resort—from the incredible breakfast spread, to the afternoon cake and fresh fruit, to the beautiful dinners each evening. The spa and thermal waters were serene and rejuvenating, and we even took advantage of a complimentary hotel day trip, which was another special touch.||Every detail made us feel cared for. The Adler team knows how to make guests feel special, and it shows in everything they do. We are already looking forward to coming back!

We’ve stayed here six times over the years. It’s a very pleasant experience after the first day you feel better and by the fourth day you really feel relaxed. Some people drive around the area, but we stayed right where we were. It’s not inexpensive, but it’s worth the cost. They give you a bathrobe and you can wear it to breakfast or lunch if you want. For dinner you get the same table every night and if you don’t finish your wine, it’s there for you on the next night. Good wine is not expensive and the waiters Will make your wife feel beautiful without making you jealous. Maybe the most important thing is the therapeutic pool which is gigantic and has water from way underground somewhere that takes 20 years to reach the surface so it has all sorts of minerals. I think the managers are either German or Swiss but the staff is Italian so you get that special Italian treatment. The rooms are really nice and some of them allow you to just walk out to the pool it really is a nice place. I recommend you rent a car because driving there is also a pleasure. The scenery is amazing.

Best resort I have ever been in! People, location, facilities, hotel, activities, everything is more than perfect! An amaizning place where you can feel yourself like home. The “worst” thing here is the food: 2-3 kilos when you go back home just because you are “exposed” to a “culinary torture” - best ever food and service I have ever experienced. Congratulations to the entire team for making us feeling like home!
