The 33 Best Restaurants in Zurich, Switzerland | Eater

"The Swiss have more than a few ways of eating melted cheese, several of which are on display at Swiss Chuchi Restaurant. While the place serves a variety of fondues at different price points, the traditional Vaudois fondue is an excellent selection, as well as the moitié-moitié, which is half Gruyere and half vacherin. You can order any of the fondues without alcohol, as well. Another must-have cheese-centric dish is the capun, a type of dumpling from Grisons, which is wrapped in chard and served in a creamy sauce." - N.A. Mansour

Lovely atmosphere and great service! I come to this restaurant twice in a row! Highly recommend their onion soup it’s so delicious and surprisingly the textured is so nice! And of course coffee with bailey and whipped cream if you’re a coffee drinker there is a little bit tingly of alcohol but warm☕️ also I came here by myself but I would love to try the cheese fondue and I had them here (better for sharing!) you definitely need to try the cheese fondue here in Zurich! Belay, a guy who works here taking care of me so well during my meal and also very polite, funny and kind. There is a selection of wines and liquor here to choose from if you like to chill and drink. Would definitely recommend this place!

When we first arrived in Zurich, I immediately noticed Swiss Chuchi because of the long queue outside—it definitely caught my attention! I looked it up and found out it’s a famous spot, so we planned to have dinner there the next day. Unfortunately, the line was still too long and we were too hungry to wait. We came back again the next day around 12 noon and were lucky to get an outdoor table with no wait! The only downside was the bees that kept bugging us during the meal, but other than that, everything was great. We ordered the mushroom cheese and truffle cheese fondue—both were good, but the mushroom one was extra flavorful and ended up being the family favorite. It paired really well with potatoes and vegetables. I really wanted to try their chocolate fondue, but we were too full to go for it—maybe next time! Our server was also very nice and attentive, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Zurich!

Google
The cheese fondue is absolutely excellent—rich, flavorful, and a real treat. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, guiding us through the best way to enjoy it, which made the experience even better. The chicken breast was perfectly tender, and the sauce that came with it was simply to die for. A wonderful dining experience overall—we’ll definitely be back!

Google
I visited for dinner and walked in without a reservation. There was a bit of a wait (as expected for a popular spot), but you can easily book online to skip the line. The restaurant is part of the historic Hotel Adler and features a cozy Swiss decor that feels both authentic and welcoming. I chose to sit outdoors, which was pleasant — offering a great spot for people-watching and a relaxed vibe. We ordered the Traditional Cheese fondue (4 cheese blend), which was rich and flavorful without being overwhelming. The blend had a well-balanced taste — strong, yet not overpowering. If you're new to fondue or want something classic, this is a great starting point. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, even offering helpful recommendations to first-timers. The fondue is served daily, not just in winter, which is a huge plus if you’re visiting in the warmer months and still want a traditional taste of Switzerland.

Google
The cheese fondue was amazing! We went back a two days after because we loved it. Both times our waitresses were really kind and friendly. We would definitely recommend it to others and we thought it was worth the hype! The only thing was that we had to wait for quite some time, so making a reservation is a good idea!

Google
Traditional Fondue was delicious Loved it with potatoes just as much as with bread. 1 main course order is mandatory The main course was also pretty good. The veal, the sausage and vegetables pasta were all pretty good

If you’d like to try some authentic swiss dishes, this is the place to go! Though it is a bit over my normal budget, it was definitely worth it. We went as 3 friends, each ordered different meals to share (each meal is in the receipt attached). Other than the iced-tea that was a bit bland, everything tasted amazing. They especially made sure to ask us of our diet restrictions and made our food accordingly. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere right in the middle of the old town offered great vibes. If you have time definitely check it out! PS: If you go during weekends or holidays, making a reservation would be a great idea.

As a cheese lover, I couldn’t miss trying Zurich’s signature dish: cheese fondue. It’s melted cheese with wine, served with bread and enjoyed with hot tea. It was my first time trying it, and I really liked it. The restaurant is located right on the old street, making it very easy to find.

Yelp
We recently visited Zurich and had a reservation here for dinner our first night. It was great! We were a bit early, and our table was all set and waiting for us, complete with a sign reserving it for our arrival. The fondue was generous, especially when we added potatoes and a sausage on the side (shared between 3 people). They do require that you order one entree per person. When I ordered fondue, I assumed they would bring 3 portions, but in retrospect that would've been a lot. Instead, we were able to cobble together "entrees" with sides we wanted to accompany the fondue. One vegetarian in our party ordered their own meal. It can be hard to make reservations when you're traveling, since plans may change. But I highly recommend making them here! When we finished our 7:30 pm dinner, there was a line of several dozen people out the door. Shortly after we left, there was a sudden downpour so I'm not sure what became of the line. If you're staying at the connected Hotel Adler, they give you a discount card upon check-in and have you enter through a separate entrance.

Yelp
This spot in old town had a super long line and the reviews looked promising so we got in line as well. Service is quick and friendly and they've got tables both indoors and outdoors. Food was fairly mid. We got the fondue with mushrooms and ham expecting to be able to eat the mushrooms and ham as well, but they were chopped so small that we could neither pick them out nor did they stick to the food we got to dip in the fondue. The beef bites to accompany the fondue were very dry and tough, while the vegetables appeared to be steamed or boiled with no other seasoning. Curry ragout was overall tasty but the chicken was dry as well and the fruit pairing didn't add much to the dish.

Yelp
One of the funnest and tastiest things we did in Zurich is the swiss fondue at Swiss Chuchi! It was so good and they bring it out promptly. Portions are generous (nobody finishes it!) so order less than you think you might be hungry for as you can always order more. We sat outside in the cute square but the inside is adorable too. Note: They have blankets for outside too which is nice on a chilly day like ours. A MUST hit in Zurich but be sure to make a reservation unless you're there in the off season as it's a busy place since it's quite historic. Also be sure to say hi to the blue cow!
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
It's a pretty popular spot and I think you come here for fondu. The portions were good and it's nice to share a few items. Service was pretty quick despite what I saw others experiencing and it was nice to sit inside vs. on the patio. I know the wait can get pretty long so I'm not sure if it's worth it if I have to wait 20mins+ to sit down but overall it's a novelty spot to try when in Zurich.

Yelp
Best Fondu in town according to Google review. Very good vibe and traditional interior inside. The service was friendly and professional. The fondu was delicious and satisfying though a bit strong. The price was amazingly below my expectation. Very affordable. This is a must visit!

Yelp
We visited on our final night in Zurich and it was a pleasant experience overall. There was a bit of a line for dinner on a Friday night, but there was live music in the plaza to entertain us while we waited (convenient timing). They have an extensive menu, and while it is touristy it worked for our group who consisted of carnivores and vegetarians. The vegetarians were happily surprised by the menu offerings, while the carnivores enjoyed the beef fondue. The sauces to accompany the beef were very flavorful. Their 50/50 fondue was also nice and mild but hit the fondue cravings we had for our final dinner in switzerland. The chocolate fondue for dessert was another crowd pleaser, the biscoff with the chocolate was a flavor combination I didn't know I needed in my life.

Yelp
What went well? Easy answer, everything. Service was prompt and attentive. Ambiance was that of a popular eatery and the food was absolutely tasty. I will be back here. Had the whiskey-infused fondue as the main order and sides of chicken, that was moist and tender, cooked perfectly. Also had a side of steamed potatoes that topped off the meal just so. Had to have a glass of the Christmas beer to finish off the night. If in Zurich you HAVE to make this one of your stops if near Old Town. Hack would be to make reservations or stop by for an early dinner no later than 4pm if you don't have reservations. Enjoy!

Yelp
Chuchi is definitely one of the go-to fondue spots in Zurich. That being said, be prepared to wait in line, especially during peak times. The fondue itself was fantastic--everything you'd hope for in a Swiss fondue experience. The rest of the menu, though, was just okay, so I'd recommend sticking to the fondue if you go. The staff was friendly and attentive. Fair warning: your clothes and hair will smell like cheese when you leave--it's part of the experience, for better or worse! While we had a good time at Chuchi, there are plenty of other fondue spots in Zurich that we tried and honestly enjoyed even more. Some didn't even have a wait, which made them feel a bit more relaxed. If you don't mind the line, Chuchi is worth checking out, but if you're not up for the wait, Zurich has no shortage of great alternatives.

Yelp
Location: convenient near shopping area. I highly recommend making time to stop in to try the fondue. So many varieties to choose from so read carefully Takes credit cards Ambiance: Zurich casual Service: Jack and Dennis provided friendly and attentive service Food: amazingly delicious Fondue. Exceeded our expectations.

Yelp
One of Switzerland's most popular dish is the cheese fondue. So naturally, we searched for the most popular cheese fondue restaurant in Zurich and found Swiss Chuchi. You must make a reservation or at least walk-in during non-peak hours. There are two lines in front of the restaurant, one for the waitlist and another for reservations. If you can and it's not too hot or raining outside, try to get an outdoor table. It's very stuffy inside and you'll come out smelling like the cheese fondue. Also, the menu says to order one main per person but our waitress let us order less, saying that it was up to us if we didn't want to order enough to be full. But honestly, if you're just eating cheese, I can't imagine someone getting full before becoming tired of it all. We ordered two fondues, the Adler's special cheese and the truffle. It comes with bread but we ordered additional potatoes and steamed vegetables to dip. If you don't want the alcohol in the fondue, I believe you can ask them to make it without it. Also, only the Adler fondue contains lactose so if you're lactose intolerant, go for anything but the Adler. Both fondues were pretty good and even better with the bread because the cheese sticks to it better. At the end, when the cheese was all crusted on the bottom, the worker came and helped us scrape it off to eat. We also tried an order of the Raclette with farmer's ham. Another popular Swiss cuisine and it comes with a little cooking station. You melt slices of cheese on a little pan and when it's ready, there's a scraper to scrape it off. The order came with tomatoes, mushroom, baby corn, pickles, onions, and pears. I'm not sure ham was the way to go and I probably would have enjoyed it more with a different meat. Fun experience though! Because we thought we had to order a main per person, we also got the Grilled Beef Entrecote with Herb Butter. Comes with a side of fries. The steak was just alright because I didn't think it was tender enough. The herb butter was a nice touch though. Overall, great experience but if I wanted to eat fondue again in Zurich, I'm going to find a new place to try. It wasn't so great that I would always come back here but at least I have something to compare to.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel so had breakfast here every day. It's nothing to get excited about, but it served the purpose. Lots of yogurt, fruit, cheese and meat as well as croissants. We then decided to come for dinner as their fondue is supposed to be the best and the line every night is incredible. We were seated inside which is very cute, but soon became hot because of all the fondue pots. If you haven't done fondue, it can be quite confusing and we weren't given any guidance. My husband had read we needed to try the raclette, so we ordered that and the traditional fondue. The raclette came with a little stove to melt the cheese and cook the ham as well as a variety of vegetables. Had we really understood that, we wouldn't have ordered it as neither of us eats many vegetables, so it was a waste of food. The fondue came with a basket of bread cubes and with the potatoes from the raclette, we had a meal. I became full rather quickly because of the heaviness of everything. Other customers talked about the server giving them the hardened cheese from the bottom of the pot, but ours didn't so I think we missed out on something good. Overall, I wasn't highly impressed.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
When in Switzerland, you've gotta try their cheese! We booked a reservation well in advance as we had a large party, and thus were separated into smaller tables. Would highly recommend making a reservation even if you have a small party - it gets busy! We were seated inside, and with all the fondue pots and raclette stations going on, it was quite stuffy. The tables aren't huge, so if you're planning on ordering a lot, be ready to shuffle some things around! Our group of 5 decided to share 2 fondue pots and 1 raclette; one couple also ordered a steak on the side, but I personally think the first order was enough food for us. The menu noted something about everyone needing to order 1 main dish, but we didn't have a problem going under that supposed minimum. We loved the Truffle Fondue, and I honestly thought the raclette was even more delicious! A fun experience to share with friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the process of dipping food into cheese and sliding melted cheese off onto our plates!
google avatar

Christine Z.

Yelp
We had to try fondue and raclette when in Switzerland and decided to make a reservation for Swiss Chuchi. When we arrived there was a pretty long line for walk-in. Our meal took quite a while so I can see there being a long wait for walk-ins, so making a reservation is definitely the move if you know in advance that you want to dine here! Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. It was hot out so we opted for indoor seating, but with all the little grills and stoves at each table, it was pretty stuffy inside. Not sure if it would have been nicer to sit outside. We ordered the Adler's special as well as the truffle fondues. Obviously very different flavors for both, but they were both rich and delicious and I couldn't decide which I liked more. You can't go wrong with either of them! Note that all of their fondues are lactose-free, with the exception of the Adler's special. So if you're lactose intolerant, you can still enjoy their fondue without worry! For our sides, we chose the potatoes and veggies. The veggies came in a basket while the potatoes came in sacks! So cute! These were perfect for dipping in the fondue and really getting all that cheesy goodness. I've never heard of or tried raclette before but it was a cute experience pouring the cheese in, waiting for it to cook, then scraping it off. The cheese itself was delicious too! Overall, tasty cheese and a fun experience to share with others.

Yelp
My first meal in Switzerland was much better than expected. Everyone says the food in Switzerland is bad so I wasn't expecting much. The whole restaurant smells like cheese because of their fondue specialty! The potato cheese soup was really good- salty but in a good way because it was from the cheese. The escargot was also surprising good though the sauce was a tad too spicy. The mushroom ravioli didn't have a strong enough mushroom flavor. The pasta covering was a bit too al dente for me but the dough had flavor so it was fine. The best part was the Prosecco sauce which I never like at home. It tasted nothing like what I've had before. This restaurant was very good, especially if you want some local dishes. Nothing in Switzerland is cheap- dinner was $63.
google avatar

Hani A.

Yelp
This is the most popular spot for fondue in the city. We came here on a rainy day and luckily the wait wasn't that bad. Our waiter was helpful and gave us advice on the different types of cheese fondue. We ordered the bread and the meat ones. With all honesty I felt the dish itself was overhyped. I love cheese but the whole dish was average. I was not blown away by it.
google avatar

Nina L.

Yelp
So happy we stumbled upon this place when we were in Switzerland! I have celiac so finding a gluten-free cheese fondue place was absolutely divine! To top it off they had so many options and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend :)
google avatar

Brenna C.

Yelp
We had a little bit of a wait but we the fondue was delicious and worth the hype! Service, just okay and took some time. I had the truffle fondue - aaaamazing!
google avatar

Rae G.

Yelp
This is worth all the hype. Not only is this in a convenient location (inside Hotel Adler), about 5 minutes from Old Town Zurich on foot, but is also an incredible showcase of classic Swiss food. They of course have raclette and fondue, but they also have starters such as garlic bread, escargot and soups. And for a Swiss restaurant, this was reasonably priced. We had garlic bread, raclette and truffle fondue which we shared with three people. This was absolutely way too much food since the fondue comes with a basket of bread and a sack of small potatoes. The raclette came with some meat and vegetables, but isn't filling enough on its own. I believe the fondue and raclette came out to be about 50 CHF each, which isn't terrible since we shared them. I highly recommend asking your server for recommendations, especially if you're a tourist. Ours recommended the truffle fondue since there were some people in my group that hadn't tried it before and the taste of alcohol with cheese might be an acquired taste. But the truffle fondue didn't taste too strongly of alcohol. Be sure to scrape the cheese off the pot after you finish!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
First time having fondue and Swiss Chuchi did not disappoint! We had the half half fondue (which doesn't have lactose which is awesome!) with bread. We also had the veal sausage and spaetzle. Everything was really good, highly recommend!
google avatar

Miles B.

Yelp
Expensive for what is offered. Service is very good, food is okay, inside is busy, but cozy.
google avatar

Astrid B.

Yelp
Loved this place! It was expensive, but my friend and I went in knowing this. The staff was very friendly and we were sat immediately at the last table available. There were so many good looking food options, it was difficult to choose! We ended up with onion soup, veal in onion sauce, and macaroni with bacon. I also had the swiss coffee with Baileys, which was absolutely amazing. Everything about this place was so great, I'm just not sure it's a 5 star kind of place. The prices are typical for Switzerland and it smelled of fondue the whole time. The ambiance is bright, but the menu makes up for it. Would go again when looking for a nice dinner!
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Located adjacent to the Hotel Adler, Swiss Chuchi is in the heart of Zurich's city center. That means, be prepared for a wait if you would like to sit inside! It gets so busy here. We decided to grab dinner on a late evening (~8 pm) and it was still packed! If you do not mind sitting outside during the colder months, they have walk-in seating for those! They provide a blanket for your comfort. We opted to wait in order to sit inside! They can also take your name down for inside seating if you'd like to wait. The food was amazing! We ordered the fondue (with 2 sides) and an entree because we were hungry! It was the perfect amount of food for us! Service was very slow as other Yelpers mentioned. Probably why there is a long wait! We didn't get to order until about 15 minutes into being seated. Our waitress did not come back often and we were ready for the check. However, it gives you time to really enjoy your food and your company!

Scott S.

Yelp
The ambience and service were excellent. however, the food was less than mediocre and especially at the very high overrated prices. The cheese for the fondue was not very good. The bread was stale. The meat was mediocre. We had two fondue orders and the two cheeses tasted exactly the same though they were supposedly a combination of say four cheeses each. even if it were half the price, it would still not be worth coming back for the fondue. I believe they had a fairly extensive menu and there might be better, entrées, etc. Again, a very cute place with great service. However, very suboptimal tasting food at undeserving high prices. unfortunately, it was just disappointing.

Yelp
Incredible Swiss Fondue! Do not miss getting the fondue in Zurich! I had done some research prior to the trip and this restaurant came out near the top of the list. We were walking back to our hotel and passed the restaurant so we decided to stop. A great decision. They were very crowded but still got us in right away. It seems as if reservations for this place are a good idea but I'm glad we were able to just walk up. We got their signature cheese fondue. It was excellent. So creamy with an incredible flavor just a hint of cherry and Lucious Swiss cheese. Dipped bread cubes in as well as fries that we got. We also did the meat fondue. Steak, chicken and beef. We cooked it ourselves in the hot oil provided. Also a bunch of dips for the meat as well. It was all excellent. The service was great and they helped us to decide what to get and exactly how to cook and eat it. A cute little place with Swiss decorations like cuckoo clocks, music makers and all things alps. If you re in Zurich, you should check this place out.

Yelp
Great service, super delicious steak with hashbrowns, sauce the best pricy but worthy. I order also salmon. Simply Fantastic
google avatar

Tansy W.

Yelp
This place gets packed so try to make a reservation! We couldn't get a table inside when we tried to walk in so sat at the tables outside in the cold. It wasn't too bad. Loved the traditional fondue - we licked it clean. Didn't love the mushroom soup - the mushroom flavor was too strong and it was a bit grainy - I only had two sips and couldn't finish the rest. The food came out pretty fast and our waitress was friendly. Would definitely come back again! But will order a larger portion of fondue
google avatar

Mony K.

Yelp
Prompt service and a unique experience for fondue lovers. I'm lactose intolerant but it was good to learn some of the fondue were lactose free. The experience of eating fondue itself was worth it. Service was a little slow as they were busy and typically not as attentive unless you willed for it but it's not all that bad as you'll usually have everything you need when you first order. Fondue was subtle and excellent. Great grate and texture. I also enjoyed their pork sausage in onion sauce dish. And surprisingly the onion soup was a standout. Perfectly balanced flavors making each sip heaven. Although I think service can slightly improve, I'm giving them 5 stars.

Yelp
Having just arrived in Zurich on a Thursday, both my wife and I were craving local specialties: I really wanted a Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (Zurich-style braised veal), my wife wanted a great schnitzel and Rösti. Both our hotel and local friends emphatically recommended Swiss Chuchi, so we headed right over. Fortunately we arrived at 5:30 pm, well before the big rush. We noticed reserved signs on virtually all the tables and were ultimately seated at a table reserved for 9:30 pm after mentioning that we weren't going to take all that long to eat. Our orders arrived promptly and both were superbly prepared and delicious. I'm sure one can get these items for moderately less somewhere else but these truly meet or even exceed the standard set by legendary Zurich mainstays like Mövenpick.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
We were walking around and noticed this place had a line, so we thought we'd give it a try! The awards from trip advisor on the door solidified that it would be worth the wait After waiting about 30 minutes, they were able to seat us. There was a lot to the menu, and it took our patient waiter to explain everything to us before we put in our order. We ordered two meals and fondue based on our waiters' recommendation of a typical meal. There was a little wait in between placing our order and the food arriving. However, all of the food arrived at one time! We were expecting the fondue to arrive first. Overall, the food was tasty, and I'm glad I tried everything. The fondue had a strong white wine flavor. Personally, I thought dessert was the highlight of the meal. We ordered the toblerone parfait and the fruit salad w vanilla and strawberry ice cream

Yelp
A great fondue experience while in Switzerland. While I don't know if this was the most local and authentic spot, as it's flooded with tourists, it sure was delicious. We tried two different cheese fondues (the original and truffle) as well as the Onion Soup which was different but fantastic! I definitely recommend a reservation if you want to skip the long line!

Yelp
Such a great experience!! Our service was excellent, everyone was extremely attentive. The food was delicious!! The best fondue I have ever had! The restaurant is quaint and has a farmhouse feel. Highly recommend if you love fondue.

Yelp
Pro tip if you stay at the Adler Hotel landing a table at this highly sought after restaurant is a breeze. We had dinner here on a chilly Saturday night and the line outside was very long so we were fortunate to go straight in through the hotel entrance. The menu is massive and a bit overwhelming. Thankfully our server guided us. We went with the fondue and the veal dish which comes with a side of hash brown like potatoes. We also ordered escargot and a side of garlic bread. The escargot was delicious and the sauce is great to dip into with the leftover found us bread. The garlic bread was toasted perfectly and seasoned nicely. Only thing we would have done differently is order a side of veggies to dip Into fondue as we got bored dipping the bread. Service was fine given how busy the place is and our server was friendly. The meal was very comforting and perfect for our last meal in Switzerland.

Yelp
amazing and felt so authentic and beautiful! Absolutely loved the staff, and a great wine list!

Yelp
Ate here with family. Asked for gluten free options and they actually had gluten free bread that tasted good! Service here was oddly inconsistent for me compared to my sister's family who was served by the same waiter. He was very attentive to their table, but not to ours. Very odd. The Ambiance was casual but nice. They like it warm inside, which was a bit too hot for me and my family. Food was delicious. I think we dipped everything in the cheese.

Yelp
Service was attentive . The escargot was nice .don't order the French onion soup ! Horrible powdered soup base that had no relation to a normal French onion soup. My spouse ordered the cheese fondue . It was ok nothing special . Kind of pricey for what you get

Albert P.

Yelp
Disappointing. Waited a long time then once seated found the waiter unwilling or unable to explain the dishes. Brought our food out right away (assuming precooked). Laid my plate out on the table beside me then picked it up and moved it to me. Place has a great business and they are out to max revenue so understand your experience is not their primary concern. Fondue was good but other dishes not as described and found lacking in seasoning and flavor. Find another place to experience Swiss hospitality. You wont find it here. At least be aware.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The fondu is amazing!! Glad we could eat outside because fondu indoors always leaves a strong odor. Everything was amazing but it was too much cheese. We ordered a double fondu and raclette rosti. This was the one stop I wanted for lunch and glad we made it. Will go again. Disappointed you can't make reservations outside but we got there early enough to not have to wait for a table. By the time we left, there were many people waiting.

Yelp
Before traveling to Switzerland, our Internet search for the best fondue in the country suggested Swiss Chuchi, a little restaurant near Zurich's central train station along the lengthy pedestrian-only thoroughfare. This is certainly a unique restaurant by European standards, for both good and bad reasons. I can understand the 3.7 user rating on Yelp, but I can also tell you it's a fun experience just once. We made 6:00 p.m. reservations weeks in advance because of its popularity as Zurich's original fondue restaurant, opening in 1953 just before the craze hit North America in the '60s. Upon arrival, we waited for 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the entrance as the wait staff went continuously buzzing by, appearing chaotic and overworked despite a half-empty establishment. Finally, we were seen and taken to our indoor table, but we seemed invisible for another 20 minutes until a server finally arrived. Outdoor customers watched in frustration as swarms of flies descended upon their food, while indoor customers sat at empty tables waiting on their food. It seemed the wait staff was simultaneously busy and scampering about, yet producing no service nor food at all. But that half-filled restaurant filled quickly as a long line formed by 7:00 p.m. We were glad we made reservations after all, and you should too. This eatery is not nearly as fancy as it appears in pictures! And like all European restaurants, servers will not come back to check on their guests after receiving food, especially to offer more water in the hot summer weather. And it's nearly impossible to get the bill in a European restaurant, even when Chuchi sets a two-hour limit on your dining time because of its popularity. Finally, our four cheese traditional fondue arrived and was just as delicious as advertised! The beef and chicken were exceptionally tender and obviously of excellent quality. The entire experience is very expensive, over 100€ without alcoholic drinks. But it's worth doing once.

Yelp
Aside from the price, this place is an amazing place to get Swiss fondue! The atmosphere is lively and colorful. Many locals frequent this place, so it must be good. I recommend getting one meat fondue and one cheese fondue. The first ones on each page are fine. - Cheese Fondue - Adler's special cheese fondue: made with a mix of aged cheeses, white wine, cherry liquor and garlic, 200g - Meat Fondue - Fondue Bourguignonne; chunks of veal, beef, and chicken for you to fry in hot oil, 200g I know, I know, the prices are exorbitant, but I recommend coming here at least once to see what it's all about. Prices in Switzerland and just high in general. Also, if you've had Asian hot pot, you will think the meat fondue is a rip-off since the price of just one set here (not even a lot of meat) is the same price as a whole AYCE deal somewhere in the USA. Probably not a second visit for me, but I did have a very good experience here.

Yelp
I had seen videos of tourists who ate here on a lot of TikToks while planning my trip to Europe, so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I got the Zürcher Kalbsgeschnetzeltes with Rösti and loved it. My friend got a fondue which I tried and it was also good. If you are here visiting looking for some fun traditional Swiss food, you should definitely try here!

Yelp
The traditional Fondue was excellent! We're staying at the Hotel Adler which is connected, and from the moment it opens, this restaurant has a line!

Yelp
The ambient was very relaxing and cozy. The waiter was friendly and funny. The food exceed our expectation. We ordered cheese fondue half and half which was amazing. For desert, we ordered chocolate Fondue with fruits. This item was not in the menu so you need to ask for it. It well worth it. This restaurant is little bit pricy but you will have great experience.

Yelp
Food was terrible, maybe around a 3/10 for both dishes and extremely overpriced (around 100 USD for both dishes). Staff was very rude and was definitely an overall negative experience. Would avoid going here, got the vibes of a tourist trap.

Yelp
Came here on vacation with my parents per Rick Steve's recommendation. It was crowded and we were starving, so we asked for the first table available. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long before getting a table inside. Unluckily, it was a little warmer than we expected, but we'll get to that. We ordered one of the many varieties of cheese fondue, the delicacy Switzerland, and in particular Chuchi, is known for. So delicious!! They put a grill on our table and we were able to grill the pearl onions, mushrooms, bread, and other food that came with the fondue to dip. We also ordered veal and sausage to grill. Delicious! We got raclette cheese as well, melted it under the grill, and poured it right over the meat -- highly recommend. In addition to all that, we got the alpine pasta. This was among my favorite dishes on the table. Don't skip out on it! It sounds just like mac and cheese, but it's even better. While the food was delicious, it is typically eaten by locals in the winter, and it was quite a hot day outside due to the heat wave, so we were sweating buckets eating all the food. It was even worse because we were inside the restaurant, so we had no breeze. By the time we left, my face was tomato red. Also, it took us so long to be served once we sat down. I didn't expect great service to begin with because it's Europe, but the table next to us got seated at the same time and got their food and we hadn't even gotten our drink order taken yet, so for those two things, I had to give them four stars.

Yelp
I came for dinner and even though it seemed very busy and crowded, I was able to get a table almost immediately. This was my first meal in Zurich and also the first time I tried fondue and raclette. I also got a spritz which I would not try again (it didn't taste that good). I might just not be a fan of those dishes, but I thought the fondue and raclette were just melted cheese and nothing special. Eating that much cheese is quite heavy though, so you will be pretty full. Service here wasn't great. It might have been because it was so busy, but our waiter was very inattentive and it took quite a bit to put our order in and to get the check. I wouldn't come back here again because the quality was ok and I think the value was pretty bad. Each dish was very expensive and not that enjoyable, though it seems like everything in Zurich is on the pricier side.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Party of 7 sat right down. Atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Host recommendations for fondue were top notch.

Yelp
Came here for my first meal in Zurich. Tried the cheese fondue and ordered beef and veggies. Bread is included. There are different types of cheese fondue to choose from. My friends and I were sat in a corner table in the back. Our waiter seemed to forget about us and we had a hard time flagging him down. Swiss Chuchi is definitely a tourist spot. Prices are higher than other restaurants.

Yelp
This was our first experience with Raclette and we loved it! Will Raclette become my favorite food ever, no, but the experience was well worth the trip! I would recommend reservations, but if you don't mind waiting it's not necessary. You cannot make reservations the same day as the meal. In the winter if you're brave enough to eat outside you might not need a reservation. If there are two in your group I would recommend one person ordering fondue and the other a Raclette.

Yelp
Half Gruyère, half Vacherin fondue (no alcohol) was delicious and a great birthday lunch. We also ordered grilled chicken and potato's as a side and an order of Schnitzel with rosti to share. Everything was great. We didn't need dinner. Really overhyped on social media, but worth doing once. Since we were there for lunch super quick service and no wait.
