Finally made to this oft recommended restaurant in the middle of nowhere NM. About a 10-15 min drive from I-10. Apparently this place has been here for 50 years and looks like it, building is very dated and eclectic decorations. Green Chile Cheeseburger was huge and delicious, Green Chile had perfect kick. Onion rings are definitely homemade and were also good. Would go again but it's out of the way.

This place is amazing! I had been here 17 years before but didn't recall where it was or the name of the establishment. When I was back in Deming I purposely looked for it because of the great experience last time. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was exactly the same as I remembered it and the food it was amazing! This place is off the beaten path, east of Deming, but it's worth the drive. It is an old school that has been converted to a restaurant and has a very unique vibe to it. It reminds me of the movie From om Dusk till Dawn minus the vampires and criminals. I had the t-bone which was very tender and flavorful. I normally am not a french onion soup fan but it is amazing. This place is worth the drive if you're in the area.

Everything was amazing during my experience there few days ago. Server was so nice. He offered to create (pepper corn) sauce when we ask for it. Because they didn't have that available. Place was filled with so much vintage stuffs to enjoy looking at! It's a hidden gem. A MUST to visit. Food was good too!

Very unique, cool place. An old school turned Restaurant/bar. A lot of history. Some say it's haunted. The food is incredible. Highly recommend the crab cakes. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Make sure to check out the old library and cigar bar. Non-smoking. We will definitely be back to try your delicious looking steaks.

The place is full of amazing relics that makes it feel very much like someone’s custom man cave. I had the French onion soup and it blew me away. 10/10 you cannot skip this joint.

What an interesting establishment… vintage style, great drinks! Highly recommend the house special bloody Mary! Like tequila they have loads of it, take a few after drinks or eats and look around! From the floor to the ceiling and everything in between us unique with a hint of nostalgia

While on a long 5 week road trip on our way back to Phoenix we were recommended to the Adobe Deli by friends that live in Deming NM. We had no idea the history of this restaurant and wondered out loud if Google maps was taking us to the middle of nowhere or had got us lost! This venue is well off the beaten path, but worth the detour. A converted schoolhouse; This local favorite draws its customers all the way from ElPaso and is full of eclectic furnishings, antiques and an array of decor out of the early 1900’s. Unknown to us at the time, this establishment was once featured on Ghost Adventures. We had no paranormal encounters and only a great time exploring this unique venue and talking with our server/bartender about the history and its location. The deli counter is no longer open but they still serve sandwiches at lunch in the restaurant / bar. The food was amazing. Actually surpassed our expectations by a long shot. The onion soup - awesome! I would say that the food prices are pretty up there. A burger can easily exceed $23-$26 by the time you add a few toppings ($3 per topping). Not necessarily what you expect for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Seems a bit excessive to charge $3 for a slice of cheese. But that’s just me! We would have had a deli sandwich but they only serve those from 11am - 2pm. So if you want the Deli in Adobe Deli’s menu, get there at the appointed times! See the menu I posted (which may have old prices). Unfortunately, we missed out on the sandwiches, but heard from our friends that they are great and well worth the price. Easy to share. This is a “must stop” location if you are riding the I-10 between Tucson and El Paso. It’s worth the 25 mile detour to get there! Well worth the look see!

They use Boar’s Head meat………. Lawmakers push for accountability after 10th death linked to Boar’s Head listeria outbreak………….,, Dirt parking lot not handicap accessible…….. nothing about the place is handicap accessible….Unique atmosphere but that’s about it. No one to greet or seat you in any way. Servers are unorganized and not very knowledgeable. Food is overpriced and overcooked. Not very good quality food for the $40 per person just for lunch. The place is heated by large propane heaters in the isles. You’d think a safety hazard. Cooling is a big fan besides the opening in the sheet metal obviously not sealed. Men’s room was in need of cleaning and repairs. Not a handicap friendly business dirt parking lot nothing wheelchair accessible

Yelp
I Love coming out to the Adobe Deli; it's far enough out of town to make it an adventure but not too far for a fun night out. The ambiance is a taxidermist's mother load of stuffed critters of All types & forms! The ribeye was sublime served with baked potato soup or salad. I Always go for the French Onion Soup as it's broth is rich and unctuous with plenty of melted cheese!

Yelp
This is the second time I've dined at The Adobe Deli! On This trip, I brought had to bring my adult children & two besties traveling from Southern California! My sister lives in Las Cruces & brought me here to dine about 5 years ago! Although it's a little off the beaten path, but it definitely is worth the drive! The food is so good & the staff are very friendly, outgoing & give great service! You won't be disappointed! The building used to be a school & there's rumors that it is haunted! Even Ghost Adventures from the Travel Channel did an episode about the Lewis Flat School which is now the Adobe Deli!

Yelp
Came back a year later for another try. This time our group of 5 started with a large appetizer tray consisting of fried mushrooms, green beans and jalapeño poppers. Washed em down with some cold brews. Very good. I had the NY Strip with a baked potato and salad. Three others had Rib Eyes with baked potatoes and French Onion Soup, and one had the Green Chile Cheeseburger with fries. The soup was outstanding. The burger also had 1/2 lb of quality meat and needed to be cut in half to eat properly. All in all this is a must go experience if you're ever in the Deming area.

Yelp
This place was the coolest place to eat I can remember ever being at. It's about 10 miles southeast of Deming in the desert. I heard about it from several different people, the first being a gentleman standing in a grocery line at Walmart when I was discussing a French Onion Soup. He brought up Adobe Deli as having the best onion soup. I heard about the soup from multiple other folks along the way. I looked it up on Yelp and enjoyed looking at the menu. However, it is costly. The portions are huge. I wanted a Ruben sandwich but some sandwiches were only served between 11:00-2:00. It was already 4:00 so I was very disappointed. But I did have a cold roast beef sandwich that was huge. My husband had a French dip sandwich. He said it was great. We both brought half of our sandwiches. The place it had quite an atmosphere of the old west. Almost a museum. It had a huge big screen TV that was running rodeos. Several people were enjoying the pool table. There was plenty of eating space available. Our waiter was super friendly and constantly available to us and our needs. It was a super place to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary! But the soup! Worth the trip alone! Go there, ASAP!!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a rustic hole in the wall with characters from all walks of the earth, good food, cold beer, this is your spot my friend. Upon driving down the road, we weren't exactly sure what we had gotten ourselves into. Tucked in the middle of the desert and full of antiques sits this fine establishment. Once we cozied up to the bar, we were amazed with all of the walls covered in years of amenities, trophies, craziness, and greeted with a bartender who provided us with a tour of the establishment. If we could recommend anything, you've got to try the New Mexican Chicken Rolls as an appetizer. Additionally we ordered ribs and steaks which both came out to order & homemade. We actually went here twice in two days. All outstanding. P.S. if you're a fan of the "Fallout" video games or Amazon series, this IS your spot.

Yelp
Kind of out of the way but the food was great and the service outstanding. Very interesting decor.

Breanna C.

Yelp
Overpriced, defrosted food in a dark cave covered with taxidermy and layers of dust. We went on a Sunday which ended up being the one day they don't serve deli sandwiches. We waited 20 minutes to order drinks. The beef on the $18 hamburger ended up being frozen, preformed patties so I went with cheese fries. Steak and fries was near $40. Deli sandwiches $18. My sons corn dog was tough like it had been microwaved on the wrong setting straight out the freezer. My daughter got Mac n cheese that was Kraft style (nearly $10 a kids meal with fries and water) And to top it off, no hand soap in the bathrooms.

Carlton O.

Yelp
The service was great and the Bloody Mary's were good. The eclectic atmosphere is also worthy experience. I ordered a T-bone steak. When it arrived at my table, the T-bone came without the loin. Also the steak had NO flavor whatsoever. It was a true disappointment since I had been told that the steaks were great there. It will be a while until I visit again.

Yelp
What happened to this place? Sure, it's in a rundown impoverished area, but.....! The stale smoke smell slaps your nostrils entering. Thought smoking in public had left a while ago. Have eaten here over time for the unique decor and menu. Duck, tilapia, lots of beef. Not super busy, yet not quickly acknowledged. A staple has been the French onion soup & it was wonderful yet watery. Meals come with choice of soup or salad and choice of starch. Was pleasantly surprised with tender fresh asparagus. Went with ossu bucco (meat fell off the bone) and chicken cordon Bleu. Bird was thick, tough, dry, & greasy. They also forgot to remove a large bone from the cutlet. Oops. This might have been a low 3 star, but the real insult was the addition of a hefty surcharge for credit card use. $66 for an only ok dinner in the boonies is crazy. Correct- 1 beer only. It was interesting seeing a dollar bill covering the crotch of a life-size Melania trump cardboard cutout.

Yelp
*** After 10 hours driving - what's an 8 miles detour on a cold January night? My wife was skeptical ... but now rates this as one of her top ten dining experiences...and she's dined all over the world. The experience is unique overall, when considering the location, whimsical barn-like dining environment, menu etc. Food was good ... service from Arrow and her teammates was wonderful. Attentive, warm, accommodating, genuine and polite. Great staff! A very nice way for us to cap off a few weeks in Baja and San Diego over the holidays.

Laurie A.

Yelp
Interesting place. Food was good, a little pricey. But I really went for the experience and that was awesome. To hear about the story of the location, the ghosts tales, and the customers were super friendly. I would return again if in that area to try their French onion soup. That looks soo delicious!!

Yelp
One of the few higher end restaurants with good reputation, particularly for their french onion soup and steak. Adobe Deli is located in the middle of nowhere (~10miles outside of Deming...and of course..geographically..it's just middle of nowhere in the US..and..also NM!). Yet, the steak and the French Onion soup were quite good. It seemed some people stopped by here along their roadtrip..or.just for a nice hier end meal if they happened to be locals around here. For me, my Airbnb host couldn't recommend this place enough..so, of course, I obliged and checked this place out..despite me rarely eating beef/steak...and of gosh...being even rarer eater of French Onion soup. Both steaks and french onion soup are just something that don't pop up in my mind a lot when I think of something to eat. I got a ribeye (which came with 2 sides, to which i picked a side salad and a french onion soup). The service was fast despite being prime dinner time. I supposed the Friday evening/night I stopped by, they weren't super slammed yet..so I lucked out with quick service. I thought the French Onion soup was good..upon tasting them with first few spoons. I hadn't had good French Onion soup forever..and could tell upon eating it that it definitely ranked one of the top French Onion soups among what I had had previously elsewhere. The steak was tender and cooked well. I ordered medium rare, so some middle of strak pieces were still pinkish/on a rare side. The meat tasted pretty good and so tender that i avtually quite enjoyed it. I would say it was worth eating for sure (despite me not being a big meat eater at all even). Overall, I would give this place 4 stars. The serving was ok. They didn't have the filet mignon that I wanted, so I ended up with a ribeye steak ($34.50) jnstead. Drinks were served in beer pong red plastic cups..and utensils were kindda left bae on a table..so i felt it could have been a bit more professional. That said, the setting of an old scboop house which collected lots of old memorabilia and taxidermy was sort of interesting. You could just freely browse around the building seeing interesting things/collection they got from the past. A good place to sit/relax and enjoy a good treat after a long, tiring week for sure.

Yelp
What a unique place! And great food at good prices. We had the hamburger and enjoyed it imensely. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone to try. We are already planning our next visit, and to continue to investigate the menu. Awesome barperson who was on his own that day, but was great.

Yelp
I stumbled across this hidden gem. The people are amazing that work there and the place will keep yours eyes wondering

Retreat At Two Rivers N.

Yelp
An oasis in what is literally the middle of nowhere, about 14 minutes from our Airbnb. A truly eclectic, "eat where the locals eat" kind of place. It is decorated with huge taxidermied animals from all over the globe, hard hats, an industrial ceiling fan, and numerous antiques that seem to be tossed around. We had friendly service, nice portions and excellent steaks a memorable night that we still talk about well after the trip. Definitely a must see!

Macs R W.

Yelp
Compared to our previous experiences here, our latest was distressing. The service was abysmally slow at all tables, despite having as many different servers as occupied tables. No hostess upon arrival, and no signage as to whether or not to wait for one. We ordered the crabcake apps. They were commercial frozen patties, but pleasant enough. We also ordered the famous Onion Soup. The bowls were smothered in way too much mozzarella, detracting from the actual soup underneath. The soup itself tasted more of bread than onion. My wife ordered the Pepper & Sausage Hero. It came in a huge au gratin dish, and was also overly smothered in a thick slab of mozzarella. (She estimates a pound of cheese between the sandwich and her soup.) The sandwich was too soggy to pick up. The peppers were stewed and mushy, there was no seasoning, and the sausage was cut into small coins: five boiled, tasteless bites. It was one of the few times in 50 years that I have seen her declare a restaurant meal inedible. I ordered the ribs. The rack was way more massive than I expected (I actually got three meals out of it). They were cooked perfectly to fall off the bone, but there was no appreciable rub or sauce, and they needed basic seasoning; as did the onion rings they came with, which were also undercooked. Note to the proprietors: mozzarella is like cowbell--a little makes things better, a lot doesn't.

Debi W.

Yelp
So a friend told us to eat here and the first time we didn't go because of its distance off the highway. Just go! It's crazy adorable and out in the middle of nowhere. One of a kind. Largest sandwich I've ever ordered. Next time we will make time to eat there and have a $37 filet dinner.

Yelp
Decided to make a quick weekend drive and try the Adobe Deli just outside Deming, NM. Actually heard about this place on an episode of Ghost Adventures (yes, this place is apparently haunted!) Anyways, went with the family experience the food and ambiance. We all ordered the classic burger with mine being a buffalo burger as well as bacon wrapped Chile poppers. Overall food was good but could have been a bit juicier. They were short on staff so took awhile before getting our food. It was fine with us as we were admiring the very unique decor with TONS of taxidermy animals everywhere. Great place to roam around as has lots of history and apparently was previously school back in the day. Give them a try and check out the cool place.

Ronnie V.

Yelp
Out of the way but great place to stop. Cool scenery, Great food great restaurant. Asked the waiter for his recommendation and he said try the ribs. Just seeing them when they come out is a site to see. Tender juicy and delicious. Will be back to try more

Robert S.

Yelp
I had a chance to try this restaurant! I grew up in Deming and this was a real treat! Getting there and finding the restaurant surrounded by identical looking buildings was a small challenge but once walking thru the front door you soon realize one reason for its popularity- a museum of great antiques! My wife and I ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly with a delicious taste The onion soup was outstanding, I noticed the table over had ordered a rack of ribs that looked amazing. I should have guessed that as coming in to the restaurant I noticed several Bbq pits with the chefs name So that will be filled on my next visit In short, great food, atmosphere and friendly service!

Richard W.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service. The unique setting of the Adobe Deli is the most amazing thing. Looks like a dilapidated old building on the outside but amazingly unique on the inside. I would recommend anyone looking for something really eclectic with great food try it. By the way, the French Onion Soup is to die for.

JemuelnleAnne M.

Yelp
Deming NM----a hidden gem in southern NM a spot for locals and visitors alike. I hope your not in a hurry because our dinner took over 2 hrs before our 6 hr drive home. Ribs and steaks were on point and delicious. If being honest baked potatoes were hard and undercooked. Service was ok. The ambiance is. Sight to see with memorabilia, collectibles and more.

April C.

Yelp
French Onion soup and Rueben was cooked to perfection, friendly server was very attentive.

Wendy A.

Yelp
Was a very interesting place! Food was great! Service was great and the ambiance was cool!

Dan C.

Yelp
Adobe Deli was recommended by hotel staff as well as a few other folks. Worth the drive from town. The place is, well, very interesting. Pretty wide selection to choose from on the menu. The French Onion Soup was among the best I have ever had. At first glance, steak prices seemed a bit high but when the ribeye arrived, I wondered if I would be able to eat all of it. Cooked to perfection!! Usually overlooked, the baked potato was awesome. Service was on point, attentive and friendly. If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely be back!

kim h.

Yelp
We just wanted a cheap quick lunch but got so much more. It wasn't that cheap or quick but it was delicious. I got the Rueben. My niece had the onion rings with her bbq beef sandwich and I wish I had ordered them. She loved her bbq beef. My nephew scarfed down the onion soup and said it was really filling-a lot of cheese. Our waiter was adorable. He showed us snapchats of the menu and was very (rightfully) enthusiastic about many of them menu items. Nonalcoholic drinks are bottomless. I highly recommend.

Kim E.

Yelp
I've been to this place a few times when I'm in town for work, but holy hell was the service bad tonight and I won't be going back. Took 40 min to get a glass of water and order and then two hours to get our food (which was also not what we ordered). The absolute worst. I never leave reviews but this one had to be left. Worst service I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Maybe 10-15 years?

Leslie W.

Yelp
If you want a steak and a great bowl of French onion soup this is the place. I know it seems like it's out in the middle of nowhere - it is! - but the trip is part of the fun. Just remember if you drink from the full bar (yay full bar!) you have to still drive out of there. Order your steak one down from the way you like it...if you want med rare, get rare etc. Make reservations for weekends and sometimes weeknights. It never hurts. This place is 9 miles outside Deming. It's hot and dusty and no where to sit and wait. No one wants to wait in the heat of the desert. Just call and make a reservation. And make sure you specify inside if that's where you want. Their patio is pretty unimpressive. I know it's a destination for a lot of folks in the Deming, Silver City and Las Cruces area. But our lunch experience left me happy we didn't make a special trip there for lunch. We were coming back from City of Rock. It took 30 minutes and two warm beers before our sandwiches arrived. The buffalo burger was dry even for lean buffalo. My bbq sammy was huge! I brought half home. But it needed onion or pickle or jalapeno. Something for a little kick. If you're thinking of getting the oysters (they are hard to find in the desert) just know they are usually sold out. Yeah, the place is unique. It's stuffed to the rafters with taxidermy and odd collectables and dust. I'm not impressed with the clutter of it. But I guess that's part of it's charm.

Rachel A.

Yelp
Had hoped for more from this allegedly haunted location. The only scary thing was the food.

Rolando N.

Yelp
Driving down I-10 towards Phoenix, the billboard beckons "Best Ribeye in the Southwest!" Adobe Deli. The ribeye siren song was too strong so we took the detour to the tiny town of Deming. The place is a few mile from the city down a nondescript dirt road. As you enter the establishment, you notice this is no ordinary steakhouse. It's part bar, part smoking parlor, part restaurant, part Texas chainsaw massacre. Animal heads and exotic game are the primary decor but you also find some interesting and unique antiques throughout the place. Dust and weathered furniture abound. It's pretty cool and a little scary at the same time. Service on this Sunday was incredibly slow. Lots of people sitting around with no food on their table. We grabbed a place by the bar had some drinks and waited awhile for our table. If you are in a hurry, keep driving. As to the food, and in particular the ribeye, it was good but did not live up to the hype as the best in the Southwest. Not nearly enough marbled fat in the cut of meat to make it super tender. Overall it was good and on par with what you might find at Outback Steakhouse. The French dip was also good. Good cuts of meat and the au jus sauce was very flavorful. If you find yourself in this part of the world, it's worth a stop for the experience and photo opportunities.

Michael C.

Yelp
I don't like to write negative reviews, but sometimes it just can't be avoided. After hearing a few people speak highly of the Adobe Deli, we decided to stop by on our way back from a camping trip. As we were hungry, we were a bit worried about it being crowded on Sunday at lunch time. To our relief, they still had plenty of tables. The first thing we noticed is the prices didn't match their web site. There's never an excuse to have an outdated website, but this wasn't even close. For example the green chile cheeseburger listed at $12 on their website was $20. Annoying, but not the end of the world. 15 minutes later, when the waitress finally got around to taking our order, they were out of some of what we ordered--for example the New Mexico Chicken Rolls--which they hadn't had for months but hadn't taken off the menu. We altered our order and waited. And waited. And waited. My girlfriend ordered a beer, which was delivered to the wrong table. About 45 minutes later they finally bring our appetizers out. Except we had to watch the waitress wander around the restaurant as we waived wildly at her trying to figure out which table had ordered them. She disappeared before returning and delivering them. The wings were darned good. The fried green beans were decent. The jalapeno poppers were cold in the center. Like refrigerator cold. Presumably they were frozen and not heated all the way through. They were nasty. But at least they were delivered. The cod basket we ordered was nowhere to be found. The waitress promised to rectify it. 20 minutes later they finally brought out the medium burger we had ordered to share. The waitress brought us an extra plate so we could share, but after having been there over an hour we still didn't have silverware. So we had to wait until we could flag her down to get a knife. Upon cutting the burger (which we were looking forward to because we were hoping for local, high quality beef--especially given it's a $20 burger), and instead of medium it was somewhere between well done and charcoal. And still no cod. We asked the waitress that brought our entree about it, and she promised to look into it. As we were eating we witnessed other errors. The appetizer for the table to the left of us got delivered to the table to the right of us. Other orders were missing something or wrong entirely. Finally, after we've choked down the burger and are ready to pay, the waitress comes back and tells me our cod appetizer should be right out. At this point, we're close to 90 minutes after we ordered. Um... no thanks! Upon request, she promised to take it off the bill. She returned, it had not been taken off the bill. She insisted it wasn't on the bill--which it wasn't as a line item, because it was ordered as part of the appetizer platter. After some grumbling, she finally agreed to take $6 off (not even a quarter of the platter price). Whatever, we just wanted out. Despite the fact they also took the beer off, it was still a nearly $50 meal (including bare minimum 15% tip) for food that was undercooked, overcooked, and otherwise unremarkable, save for the wings which were the single bright spot. And nearly two hours of our day gone for something that should have taken half that time. I'd recommend not going at all. If you do, order the wings. And don't go hungry.

Yelp
Fantastic decor. Great food. Proper bar. Had a great time. Got the ribeye with the French onion soup and a baked potato. Super good. Beer served in mugs. Love it.

Beverly S.

Yelp
Ivan one of the cooks told me about this amazing experience! His brother Jay was cooking today! The building is literally an amazing museum of antiques and very eye grabbing decor! The female server went above and beyond the customer service bar of excellence! The owner could add a bowl of rolls with butter and salad with my ribeye especially for the price we pay for the steak. The FOOD! OMG you have to have the onion soup and the ribeye! So exemplary in every way. Best steak I have ever enjoyed and I have been to the best steak houses all over the USA (commercial truck driver)!!!!! Jay the cook did an exemplary job at making my steak delicious! Thanks guys, I will be back! Ivan! Thanks for telling me about this amazingly awesome experience! See ya at the carwash sometime lol! Stay cool!

Brian S.

Yelp
Always love an adventure and Adobe Cafe provides one! Just finding it and the front door is the first. Slide up to the bar and strike up a conversation with the locals is the second. Put down a few cocktails that are expertly concocted and then decide what delicious treats you'll devour! Then let the spirits of adventure rain down on you! Great fun times

Yelp
We just recently found this place, Wonderful food, we stop here now once a month when we race. First 2 times we had a wonderful, funny & efficient waitress- I'm horrible with names she is really tall. This last time we had a new waitress she was nice enough, but charged us for our SODA refills from the fountain- if they were cans I would understand, if it was listed in the menu I would understand but neither was and then she looked at us like we had 3 heads when I told her to take it off that I was not paying for those. Next time we will definitely ask for a more experienced waitress, But we will continue to go back because the place is interesting and the food and drinks are good

William S.

Yelp
Our waitress was very nice but too busy. French onion soup was good, salad is fresh but very little for $6.95 ( too expensive) with some lettuce and peppers on it. T-bone steak $36.99 is very thin and tough to chew ( although we ordered medium rare). For 2 people bill came to $102 before tipping. Won't be back.

Manny H.

Yelp
Went in on Thursday afternoon. The service was quick and cheerful, and the food was excellent as expected. Both burgers were cooked as ordered, a medium and a well done. The French onion soup was great as always.

Sara S.

Yelp
This place is quite the thing! Lots of great things to gaze at and the menu was awesome. We had onion soup, steak, baked potato, asparagus, and chicken rolls all to share. Tiramisu to-go also. Very nice atmosphere and food and beverage quality was tops!

Tim F.

Yelp
Every time we drive through Deming we stop at Adobe Deli. We love it!! The food is great. The French onion soup is to be compared with anyplace in the world. It's the best!! First timers when you turn down the little country road, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, keep going, and when you see the parking lot full of cars and ranchers pickups you know your in the right place. In fact, if you go on the weekend, make a reservation, or you may have little chance of getting in. The keebob skewers and the skewer of pork ribs are the best, the ribeye is the best, plan on sharing, or plan on taking leftovers with you, it's great for the next day drive.

Tyler W.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to visit, not just for the food and ambiance but in all aspects. the staff is absolutely amazing. Shacquie in particular was gracious and gorgeous and very attentive.

Victor D.

Yelp
The Adobe Deli is almost a landmark; definitely a must. The food and the staff make it feel like you are already "a local." The ambience is unique in that it heralds stuffed and mounted predators. However you may feel about that, i find the only discrepancy with this establishment is it's' desolate location... but in a way, that too, adds to it's character. Great place, great food, great service.

Devon F.

Yelp
Third or fourth time we've been here, but those visits have widely spaced over more than ten years. Service was a bit inattentive at first but got better. Food took a long time to come and half of our order was well behind the first half's arrival. As to the food, the fries , giant fries and onion rings were all good. The fried shrimp and corn pockets while okay came directly from Sysco or whatever food service company they use. Fried clams were so overcooked as to be nearly burnt. The jalapeño poppers were good and may have been home made. The Ruben sandwich was enormous and I was told was very good. Definitely a mixed bag this time, but the ambiance of the place itself is always fun and good for a few laughs or finding some piece of the past that piques your interest.

Yelp
I don't often mention a business unless it is exceptional. On my way home from AZ to CO, I stopped in Deming, NM, for gas and a bite to eat. I hadn't eaten all day. I asked the convenience store attendant if there was a family run home cooking type restaurant nearby. I didn't want fast food; I wanted a good meal. She thought for a moment and told me to go to the Adobe Deli. She told me to turn left at the car dealership and drive like I was going out of town and then take the first right turn. What she failed to mention was that it was far from town. I found the car dealership and turned left then drove and drove and drove. I'm out in the middle of nowhere thinking that I've been sent to Stabbyville and I was going to wake up in a hole waiting to be a skin suit. But, I shook it off and asked myself where my sense of adventure was. To my delight, Adobe Deli was a great steakhouse/sports bar. I had a wonderful meal. Staff was nice, place was clean and the food was great. Definitely a recommend.

Yelp
This place is a literal palace of antiquity. It's a bit off of the beaten path, but so worth it. Their menu is much more than expected. I first ordered a Bologna sandwich, that is until I flipped the menu over and found duck! Who'd of thunk it?! My waitress suggested that I go with the Onion soup over the salad, and it is so worth it. While I waited for things to be served, I strolled down the hall taking pictures all the way. Well, I ended up in the library with a zoo of native animals. This place will peg your curiosity meter with local plunders. How many generations of collections are stored here? This place should be on a historical registry and on everyone's must go there list. Oh so cool!

Yelp
Ate at Adobe Deli today. Awesome! I drove all the way from LC (58 miles) to eat and noticed I forgot my wallet at home. Talked to Brooke (AWESOME) and she took my word to pay her later. Has the Giant Ribeye! Bomb is all I have too say! Kickass atmosphere and cool down to earth feeling. It's a must if haven't been! Thanks Brooke!

Yelp
This was recommended to us by our tax man! Thank you Clark! This place is amazing! Our server, Rachel, recommended the French Onion soup to start! It was delicious! Thank you Rachel! Servings are very generous! I ordered a Deluxe Burger with hatch green chili! Amazing! My husband ordered a French Dip and didn't stop eating until it was all gone at which time I asked how it was and he said it was delicious! Highly recommend this as a stop when you want great food, good service and an unique atmosphere! Little bit off the highway but you won't regret the stop!

Yelp
We heard good things about this place and were looking forward to checking it out. It is unique and interesting. I had the ribs which were excellent. My husband had the ribeye and was very disappointed. We told the waitress several times that it was not good. She kept saying she was sorry. It was no better than something I would buy at Walmart and cook at home. Always tough and disappointing. I'm not sure it was even a ribeye steak. We should have sent it back. Also we understood that the baked potato comes with the dinner. However the waitress asked if we wanted cheese and bacon and we said yes. Not realizing that was $5.00 extra for the cheese and bacon. The cheese was too thick and stringy and I ended up pulling it off to get to the potato. I'm not sure we will go back.

Yelp
First off, let me just say that I thought my brother was going to drive us out to the middle of dessert and murder us. That's how secluded this place is. Not much to look at was my first impression. Wasn't even sure what building the restaurant was in. Turns out it was once a school, maybe even a post office and all the memorabilia from back in the day is packed into this place. A lot of history behind this building as well as a lot of stuffed and mounted game animals. Still wasn't sure how I felt about it even after we were seated, but let me tell you that it didn't take long before more and more people started to show up for dinner. Let's start with the fried mushroom and zucchini platter. Really tasty. French onion soup... the BEST I've ever tasted. It comes with your meal (soup or salad). Ribs, T-bone steak and beef kabob were all cooked to perfection. Yes food is pricey, but it's an understatement when I tell you they serve generous portions. My pics will speak for themselves. As hidden as this place is, it's has gotten excellent reviews. Food Network needs to make a visit and put this place on the map... seriously...you need a map to find it. My compliments to the chef. Full bar, friendly staff. Pool table. Will def be back!! Oh don't forget the carrot cake....BOMB!! Not a Costco cake, that's for sure!!
