The most amazing meal I have ever had in my life. Starting with a tour of the restaurant's private wine cellar, in spaces the family discovered when they started knocking out walls underneath a property they purchased many years ago. They began stocking it with exquisite wines and cavas, and now have one of the top wine cellars in the world.
We returned to the restaurant and began a seven-course meal with wine pairings. The table was gorgeous, the service was beyond excellent, and each dish was better than the last. Cecilia told us all about each dish and how to eat it in order to taste it the way the chef intended. We finished off with several desserts, including a candy shell shaped like a pomegranate and filled with a frothy yogurt (?) sauce. As instructed, we all picked up spoons and tapped the "pomegranate" shells to break them simultaneously, while wishing for good luck. Finishing off the meal with an exquisite Spanish cava, the evening was deemed a success by all.
If you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime meal experience, you should definitely come to Adolfo's.
